Ye know what would also be cool in rainbow 6? an attacking operator with an EMP-pulse generator backpack, with only 2 charges… and maybe have it tern off near-by drones. or how about a defender that can use some sort of sound making device to fake footsteps and gunshots? or how about an operator that can place a device that when an enemy walks by it the adversary gets sticked with a trackering chip that every 1.55s relays where the sticked foe is? or how 'bout an operator that can "borrow" fallen teammate's gadgets? or an operator with x-ray Polaroid, only pics not track. just ping of where were not now, but then. (i'm the greasy!hibana!anon)

This ones actually pretty similar to Dokkaebi when you think about it. Her ability does prevent all defenders from looking at any cameras for a limited time and then she also has impact emp's aswell.

Fake footsteps and gunshots

I actually really like this idea, I recall thinking about something like that a long time ago but I don't think I ever published that work. I've always been fasinated with sound in the game because of how much it relies on it. I think it would have the most amount of use for an attack and if it was a throwable or a placible which you could activate at a distance.

You can sort of do the same with manaully detonated abilties such as Fuze charges, Thermite breaches or Ram but the idea of having fake footsteps / gunfire is really cool. They have them in COD and their called 'decoy grenade' and I won't lie they have gotten me a couple of times. But in a game like r6s I don't think they would be able to balance it, it would be too op.

This is just like... Jackal or Alibi or Grim really.

Borrow fallen teammate's gadgets

I'm not going to lie, I recon that we should be able to do this kinda normally. Or at least I wish that any op could shoot Maestro cameras. Like he has a completely normal phone like everyone else, it makes no sense why no one else could use it. You could theoritcally do this as Mozzie if you capture a Brava Kludge then use that to retake abilities. Ultimately I think it would be a little underwelming for one entire operator to have that. Like they would be reliant on the rest of your team and they don't exactly bring anything to the table? They would certainly have to have really fucking good guns- be a Warden/Vigil situation perhaps.

I mean...Jackal? Like yes he tracks but also it does just show everyones footsteps. I mean theres a lot of operators who give real time intel, I'm not sure how much use an old intel operator would work especially with the current state of the game. Rushing kinda is op these days which is a shame how frag focused it is compaired how it used to be so ability focused.

What are your thoughts/headcanons on Ash x IQ, if any? It's a ship I like but to my knowledge it used to be semi-popular but it seems dead these days and fanart of them that is traceable to the original artist is hard to come by.

I am pretty ambivalent about this ship. It doesn't really appeal to me but I don't dislike it either 🤷 I'm pretty sure it was more popular in the early days since there was a very limited amount of female characters and the combinations for f/f ships were also extremely limited, so it made sense. However, after the roster has expanded like it has, there are a lot more options to ship them with other female characters that are more intriguing/appealing to the community. Which must suck for the real Ash/IQ fans, my condolences on that.

I think Ash and IQ might have bonded heavily during the early times of Rainbow, both being engineers and attackers, and also being some of the few women admitted into the program so far. They're also both pretty serious and hard-working, although Ash leans into workaholic while IQ is a perfectionist. They'd definitely be a power-couple, but I have the feeling that work comes first for them, and their relationship second. Also, if we follow the lore, their relationship is doomed the moment NH come into play NH ruining things again, what a surprise lmao.

The Ash vs. Kali fight would already put a huge stress on AshIQ, not to mention IQ seeming so enthusiastic about NH and spending time in their base and all... and IQ leaving Rainbow would be the final nail in the coffin. I think it would be a pretty ugly breakup tbh. Cause Ash would have felt her worries and problems about Kali and her group (not) integrating in Rainbow being dismissed/downplayed by her own partner, and IQ is too enamored of NH's tech that she'd feel like Ash is being unreasonable. Also, we know other ops felt betrayed by a mere teammate leaving (Thatcher with Smoke), and Pulse and Hibana's relationship didn't survive that either.

Things are looking much better for them in Extraction tho! We know Ash is in charge of REACT, so it's not far fetched she'd try to find and reach out to people to join, and it seems she thought of IQ pretty early on. And with no NH in sight mucking up things, they can keep being a power duo, but now fighting archeans instead of terrorists.

R6S: Hibana/Pulse: they have like NOTHING in common and the devs we’re cramming it as hard as possible (Also, showing their whole asses with their fetish with Asian women in later characters 🙄 They tried, REALLY hard) the fandom just ate the shit up. Lion/Doc: I can see why? And also I kinda ship them? But how the fandom portraits it? 🤢 Glaz/kap: The literal yaoi fans but like evolved™ 💀💀💀

FC5: Grace 🥺 She deserves MUCH love? But I get why she isn’t as popular, she is stoic and she doesn't fuck around? But she compliments the most “goofy” GFH. Nothing but love to my Armstrong queen.

R6S: A TON, Goyo? He is very soft 🥺 but explodes shit? and not only Mexican but ALSO FROM MY NATAL STATE???? Sinalonse King  😭👑 also Wamai (which is suuuuper sus how the fandom exploded with Ace but not Wamai.)
