Puente de los Chocoyos
The local government has built a low metal arch behind the historic Puente de los Chocoyos (Parakeet Bridge) in order to stop the circulation of trucks that have been damaging the lower part of it over the years. In 1883, the city and neighborhood decided to build the bridge to help people cross15th street (then Calle los Chocoyos) when it was raining. In the past, this street was a creek. When the city converted it into a street, the rainy season made it almost impossible to cross because of the strong current. Now, the bridge is called, sarcastically, "the bridge to nowhere".
