In my ongoing search for people who might fill the hole in discource that will be left by Noam Chomsky, Masha Gessen looks promising. Limited only by her specialization on Russia, I highly recommend not just listening to her talk but seeing her talk. I'm noticing a correlation between people who talk about the most non-comforting terrifying subjects and being incredibly calm, that perhaps is a selective pressure. I also really like her style, but I haven't really captured her posture and gestures that are really impressive.
