Yo! Sidebar while i think of a good fc - may I ask why JDM and Jensen Ackles are banned?

Jensen Ackles has said some homophobic things at Comicon panel in the past, and while he may have gone on to support the community, we also just do not want to see his face on the dash for personal reasons. Jeffrey Dean Morgan has been a loud supporter of the Blue Lives Matter movement, which we do not support here. But again, for personal reasons, we do not want to see his face on our dash.

If you’re looking for some older male FCs in the 40-50s range we’d like to see Idris Elba, Pedro Pascal, Diego Luna, Hrithik Roshan, Daniel Dae Kim, Gael Garcia Bernal, Shemar Moore, or Jason Momoa would be great! It’d be awesome to see some older FCs fill the business owner positions at some of our locations.

not to be this person but it's your first day open and you have a ban on white fc's?

Hello, anon! We don't have a ban on "all" white FCs. Just white cis male FCs because we would like to promote more diversity in our group's faceclaims, race and gender representation. The only way to ensure diversity is by requiring it, so until we get a little more balanced, we will continue to have a cap on white cis male characters.

So many! I’d really love to see some ladies running businesses here in Provincetown so some older FCs I’d love to see are Aubrey Plaza, Brenda Song, Constance Wu, Emilia Clarke, Lucy Liu, Lupita Nyong'o, or Zoë Kravitz in a role like that.

would characters with children be welcome?

Characters can have children as long as they're background characters and not actively roleplayed. This is an adult-oriented group (with only adult characters) and we feel most threads and interactions should remain between adult characters whether they're NPCs or not.

Is there a possibility characters can own some of the businesses in the locations list?

Absolutely! Currently we have owners for the Lobster Pot and Barkside of the Moon but would love to find owners for all the locations we have.

Do you have rolling admissions or would I have to wait to be accepted?

Hi anon! We have rolling admissions as often as we can. As we receive them, one of us will put it on the app count, and once both of us have reviewed the apps to make sure everything’s good, we accept!

So for reference, when you ask for poc, are mixed/white-passing poc acceptable. I mean this is tumblr so I figured I'd ask because I've had people tell me mixed people who are white-passing are not poc. (Which imho is vehemently racist, but I digress)

They would be allowed, yes. We’re looking to diversify our group and get as wide a range of representation as possible across the board. We just currently have a bit of a majority on cis white males that we’d like to see evened out with more FCs of color used and/or more female and non-binary representation.

Would you class Ashkenazi jewish people as poc or? From what I've read, they're classed as non-white/poc, I just wanted to know what you thought of the situation for fc purposes.

This is a great question. While there’s many Jewish FCs of color, being Ashkenazi doesn’t inherently make you a POC. Ashkenazi Jews absolutely deal with prejudice and anti-semitism, which I do not want to down play by any means, it is different from what people of color face and many Ashkenazi Jews do benefit from white privilege. As someone who is part Ashkenazi Jew (of Russian origin) I don’t identify myself as a person of color and would feel uncomfortable doing so. I absolutely want to see more Jewish representation in the group but with our current ban many Ashkenazi cis male FCs would not be considered FCs of color.

Oh, I didn't want to use them, I just wanted to know why people had started blocking their use tbh. Thanks for the reply! I'm just trying to find a speciiific kind of fc before I reply, so it might take a bit, but I will!

Absolutely! We love musician FCs and have some in the RP already (Christian Yu and Harry Styles). As long as the faceclaim is over 21 and not on the banned list you’re welcome to use them.

Could a character be a doctor?

Absolutely! We don’t have a medical center listed, but there’s always room for healthcare workers in P-Town. I’d love to see some kind of seaside clinic!

What jobs do you recommend a chara to have?

This is a great question, nonnie! Provincetown is a small tourist destination so there’s lots of retail/service industry in town. I’d love to see some servers, bartenders, business owners, retail workers, hospitality, etc. We’ve also got a LOCATIONS blog you can find here that could help with inspiration. We’d love to see characters working at all these business as well as businesses not listed!

(We also plan to list new businesses as characters come in as well, such as bed and breakfasts, specialized shops, studios, you name it!)
