THE DIFFERENCE THAT MAKES THE DIFFERENCE Day 38: Who You Epp? The true measure of success is not in the total of money acquired throughout a life time, neither is it all the mansions built throughout your time; in fact, success that cannot benefit others is not success. You claim to be wealthy or nice and you don't give? Who does that? The true measure of success is in sowing seeds that benefits others; and to attain that level, we're going to immensely and incessantly start depositing in the lives of people without expecting anything in return for it is more blessed to give than to receive. I'm talking about contribution here. What are you going to significantly contribute to the society or Mother Earth before you depart? Everyday, we see lost children who have become adults because of the way they handle responsibility. Instead of saying, "I pity them", why not try to do something. Kindness is not an act, it is a lifestyle and in a world where you can be anything, try to be kind. Let's use our resources to reduce the rate at which people suffer; let's help a soul. Let's strive to make this world a better place. Let's contribute positively to humanity. For in the end, the utmost question will be "Who faced you helped?' Start giving to the poor, contribute to charity, pray for your country, decide to lead a peaceful life and ensure that whatever you do is to the benefits of others; always strive to contribute. As Ralph Waldo Emerson puts it, "To laugh often and much, to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children, to earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; to appreciate beauty and to find the best in others, to leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child or a social redeemed condition, to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived; this is to have succeeded. Giving is living. #SuccessAwaitsYou #SuccessIsYours #Elenu #PsychologistOfChange

To pursue a goal which by definition is unattainable is to condemn oneself to a state of eternal unhappiness. I'm not going to write vague goals this year goals this year and I'm not advocating that you should either. But I'd smile this year. I'd stay happy. I'd love. I'd live. And you should too. In this ravishing life of ours we just need to live, believe and achieve. Happy New Year #PsychologistOfChange https://www.instagram.com/p/BsFyxogHmF8/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1tee72tyxjcwn

THE DIFFERENCE THAT MAKES THE DIFFERENCE Day 40: The Life Hereafter How is it going to be like? Certainly, no one knows. From day one till now, I've emphasised on the fundamentals of success, taking control of your life, awaken the giant within, what makes the great great, and now, this last piece is centred on the difference that makes the difference. After all the successes, achievements and the likes, what will matter? Should a man gain the whole world and loose his own soul? Of a truth, I perceive no one will consciously do that. In almost every religion, there is this strong emphasis on life after death, and in most cases, it's about a palace of paradise or a harvest of corruption. Since it's certain that everyone would die, isn't it an astute decision to decide where you'll spend your eternity? It's up to you; remember now your creator. Live for Him, he gave you part of His life as a gift, make yours as a gift back to him. Let your life be an expression of His manifold grace. For everyone who has been following to this day, I say thank you. Now, the forty days are over, what next? Continue in the things you have learned. Better still, apply for #SPD School of Personality Development where you'll learn a lot, correct your faulty neurological anchors and mental clogs. Just follow the hash tag #SPD and you'll contact the Principal Coach, Amb Anyawu Young. #SuccessAwaitsYou #SuccessIsYours #Elenu #PsychologistOfChange

THE DIFFERENCE THAT MAKES THE DIFFERENCE Day 39: At the Centre of it All In the end, what matters the most is not going to be the number of cars you acquired. It's certainly not going to be the number of mansions you built. Definitely, it's not going to be about how successful you are, but it's going to be about a higher entity; someone who, at best, philosophers describe as Infinite Knowledge. This Infinite Knowledge is the reason behind our existence. Our coming to Earth is not a product of chance, but we have been predestined to be here at a particular time. This is why philosophers suggest that since we didn't arrive here by chance, how we live should reflect Him that made us. It's time to stop being stupid; the argument that we came here by chance is not only false but clearly stupid. Nothing happens by chance! It's time to start living in ways that would please our creator. Stop asking about who created the world because His ways are past finding; instead, start looking for what to do so the world would be much better. While reading The Pulley, a poem, I deduced that though we might have everything, but if our lives lack a supreme entity as Lord over it, then we'll continue to experience depression, frustration and anger. Don't mind the atheist, they are angry about life and they've convinced themselves by autosuggestion that there's no One above. It's time to start living in respect of the Infinite Knowledge. Make Him the centre of your life; if he's not, you'll only feel empty in the end. Success starts and ends with Him. #SuccessAwaitsYou #SuccessIsYours #Elenu #PsychologistOfChange

THE DIFFERENCE THAT MAKES THE DIFFERENCE Day 37: Heal The World “Heal the world, make it a better place for me and for you and the entire human race, there are people dying, if you care enough for the living, make it a better place for you and for me.” When Micheal Jackson, the king of pop, sang that song in 1985, his aim was to unite the world; to make us beat our sword into plowshares. Over 30 years now, we still fail to heal our world, and that is the greatest human challenge. Day by day, children die of hunger, blacks are being treated wrongly, religious folks kill other people and many more evil happen on daily basis, but we don't care about others. How about how we take care of Mother Earth? In spite of how we're warned by scientists that our burns destroys the ozone layer, have we changed? Our Ambassadors of Poverty, the so politicians, with their heads abroad and anus at home, continue to pollute the waters of Niger Delta through oil spilling. What if the Earth treated us back the way we treat it? What if, like a bleaching cream, the Earth starts reacting to us? Can we bear it? After the Second World War, the hand of a statue of Christ was destroyed in Germany, and no effort was made to rebuild it because "Christ hath no hands but yours." The truth is, the Earth has no hands but ours. It's our world. The Earth is God's gift to us, the very first paradise God created, why not strive to make it a better place for you and for me? Let's heal the world, stop our foolish wars and unceremonious frivolities. "We are the world. We are the children. We are the ones to make a brighter day so let's start living; there's a choice we're making, we're saving our own lives, it's through we'll make a better day, just you and me." #HealTheWorld #WeAreTheWorld #SuccessAwaitsYou #SuccessIsYours #Elenu #PsychologistOfChange

THE DIFFERENCE THAT MAKES THE DIFFERENCE Day 36: Be The Change You Wish To See Once upon a time, there lived a Bishop in England whose dream was to, through the gospel, change the world. On his death bed, he made a surprising request. He ordered that, on his tomb stone, his epitaph should bear the words "Be the change you wish to see in the world." Justifying his request, he said, "At first, I wanted to change the world, but I saw that it wasn't possible. Later, I decided to change Europe, but again, I noticed that I couldn't achieve that. Upon this, I decided to change England, but like others, I still failed. Having failed countless times, I promised to change my congregation, and I failed again." Continuing his speech, he said, "It then dawned on me that I failed because I want an example. If only I had changed myself, my family members would have changed. If my family members had changed, of a truth, my congregation would have changed, by that the entire England would have changed; and who knows, the world might have changed a lot through England." Like that Bishop, many will end up regretting not the things they did wrong, but the right things they know but failed to do. Consider Martin Luther King Jr, who on August 23, 1963, declared, "I have a dream...." Did he live up to that dream? Certainly, he did. He was an example to everyone. How about Paul who said, "I keep my body under subjection, lest that by any means, after I have preached to others, I should be a castaway." If you really want to make a difference, then change. If you want a change, make a change today. The world needs you. You aspire to be a speaker, and your life does not conform to your words, at best, you'll be fairly successful. You'll be successful, but not fulfilled, and success without fulfillment is the highest failure. How do you intend to change the world? Why not start now? The Bible says, "Now is the accepted time of salvation." Our lives can only get better by change not chance. See the change. Make the change. Be the change; and be the change you wish to see in the world. #SuccessAwaitsYou #SuccessIsYours #Elenu #PsychologistOfChange

WHAT MAKES THE GREAT GREAT Day 35: The Greatest Virtue The greatest virtue, they say, covers a multitude of sins. It is the only reason behind all the remarkable achievements. It is the first foundation to all everlasting success; the true mark of any never ending progress. It is the reason people die for people; the factor behind the successes of great leaders, name it. Jesus Christ exhibited it to the last. When asked, "What is the greatest commandment of God?", Jesus replied, "And you shall love the LORD your God with all your might, strength and soul... and you shall love your neighbor as yourself." According to him, that is what makes the great great. You'll never be as great as you desire if you don't love; if you don't exhibit that rare spirit, you can't be great. Funnily, most people claim they live in love, but amazingly, it's only theoretical, not factual, for love without sacrifice is a mere feeling of concern. The aim of this short piece, is to open our eyes again to the mystery of love. But living everyone starts with loving yourself. How well do you love yourself? Have you been able to transfer that love to others? Do you want to be great? Then start living the love life. Someone said if you want to be great start doing great things.... Love isn't an exception; greatness starts with love. #SuccessAwaitsYou #SuccessIsYours #Elenu #PsychologistOfChange (at Lagos, Nigeria)

WHAT MAKES THE GREAT GREAT Day 34: The Power of Specificity Back then, when I was admitted newly into the journalism school, we were always told to say what we mean, and mean what we say. For instance, our chief lecturer, Dr Charles On, would say "You have to be exact in spellings of names, facts and figures" and that means you don't say "Many were in injured in the accident" but you give a precise number. In life, to get what you want, you've got to be specific. If you don't know what you want then you're likely to accept anything, and anything means nothing. It's good if you have goals; it's even better to have written in them down, but it is much better to make this specific. For instance, you want to buy an Acura ZDX, but you're not sure of the time you want to get it, don't you think you're only wishing? It's not a goal! As Napoleon Hill says, any gist without a deadline is a manifestation mere wish. Compare with the example below : On the 31st of December, 2018, I will buy an Acura ZDX. Like a journalist, your specificity in goals setting will result to goal getting. Specificity helps you draw all what you need in achieving your goals faster. It makes you committed to seeing your dreams actualised. More importantly, it helps you destroy the road blocks to your success. #SuccessAwaitsYou #SuccessIsYours #Elenu #PsychologistOfChange (at Lagos, Nigeria)

WHAT MAKES THE GREAT GREAT Day 33: The Compelling Future In 1971 after his death, during the house cleaning sessions, a piece of paper, about size 3*5 was found with the title "Goal letter." What did the letter contain? When the piece of paper was opened, it became vivid that deceased had written the letter to himself, promising himself that 10 years after the original date he had written the letter, he would dominate the American film industry, adding that he would be $10m rich. Unfortunately, however, the writer of the letter, Bruce Lee died of brain oedema in 1971, six days after he released the film that made him a legend, "Enter the dragon." By then, Lee was almost $10m rich. What distinguished Bruce? The tremendous power of goals. We all know how to set goals because we all have goals, but until we start acting on our goals, they'll continue to mere wishes. I'm imploring you today to start living the kind of life you want to by acting on your goals. #SuccessAwaitsYou #SuccessIsYours #Elenu #PsychologistOfChange

WHAT MAKES THE GREAT GREAT Day 32: The Man of Influence When we think of people like Gandhi, Mother Theresa, Theodore Roosevelt, Herbert Macaulay, Ajayi Crowther, Winston Churchill, Albert Einstein, Thomas Edison, Napoleon Hill, Aristotle, King James, Queen Elizabeth 1 and others, all we see is a life well spent. Well, we're not wrong, but the truth is, these people have influenced our world. In a much grimmer vain, think of Adolf Hitler, Benito Mussolini and Idi Amin. These people too influenced our world greatly. But today, I'm talking about the power of positive influence. Everyone wants to write their name in history, they try to achieve great things, they immortalise their names by calling any of their designs their names. At best, they seek to create a lasting legacy, which is what everyone wants to do. But how do we influence our world? #1 Always think of people first. Like the theme of the broadcast media, let whatever you do be in the interest of the people. People don't care how much you know until they know how much you care; if you always put people first, you'll be more influential. #2 Become more of a blessing to others. We're blessed, not for ourselves, but for the welfare of others for "you're blessed to be a blessing." Even if, to people, you're not a pencil to rewrite their story, be an eraser to wipe their pains off. Let people remember you for good. #3 Humility is an asset. How was Christ able to sustain himself as the most influential personality? The Bible answers, " Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility regard others as better than yourselves. Let each of you look not to your own interests, but to the interests of others. Let the same mind be in you that was in Christ Jesus, who, though he was in the form of God, did not regard equality with God as something to be exploited, but emptied himself, taking the form of a slave, being born in human likeness. And being found in human form, he humbled himself and became obedient to the point of death—even death on a cross." #SuccessAwaitsYou #SuccessIsYours #Elenu #PsychologistOfChange

WHAT MAKES THE GREAT GREAT Day 31: The Stupendous Power of A Sacrifice Every great destiny that was fulfilled did not happen by chance. In fact, until force is applied, no destiny is fulfilled. This sacrifice is a vital force for achievement. As it is right said, if you fail to sacrifice for what you want, what you want becomes the sacrifice. Thus, we've all got to lay the price now. Sacrifice does not mean working only when you feel like, it means working delightfully when you don't feel like. It means don't as stipulated and not as convenient. While doing your best is good, going beyond your best is sacrifice; and sacrifice is the only key that guarantees return on investments. Make a sacrifice today, and be a king tomorrow. Make that list of what you want to sacrifice today, execute it, and the sky will be your starting point... #SuccessAwaitsYou #SuccessIsYours #Elenu #PsychologistOfChange

WHAT MAKES THE GREAT GREAT Day 30: Your Health and You Most often, people tend to forget that even though having money is good, it is not everything. Their beliefs is that, when they get more money, they'll enjoy their lives better. But they fail to see realize that after acquiring as much as you want, not being able to have the life required to spend the money is the greatest failure. Everyone wants more money, but only a few want to improve on their health. In a bid to make more money, hang out with friends, and even enjoy life, people cut themselves short by developing poor health habits. As it is rightly said, "You are what you eat." Whatever you accept defines you, and whatever you permit to enter your system defines how you function. If you spend extravagantly and fail to take care of your health, you'll one day collapse. It's that simple! As a teenage that cannot run for ten minutes, do you claim to be alive? As a youth, you can't even walk for one hour; you can't stand for thirty minutes, and you think you're okay? As a lady, you overeat, barely eating cooked meals and always taking snacks, drinks and chocolate all in the name of "I'm a big girl", don't you think you're headed for destruction? Health is the first wealth; if you fail to be rich in health, then you've failed to be rich in finances because you may not enjoy your life. Change! Stop eating trash! Start exercising daily. Even the Bible says, "Bodily exercise profits." If you want to loose weight, go to the gym and stop sitting on your couch wishing God to do it. Stop smoking and reduce your intake of alcohol. Strive to be physically fit, and cow never to do anything detrimental to your health. Start today, enjoy tomorrow. #SuccessAwaitsYou #SuccessIsYours #Elenu #PsychologistOfChange (at Lagos State)

BECOMING THE BEST VERSION OF YOU Day 28: The Mark That Can Never Be Erased Sonia Todd was diagnosed with a terminal form of cancer. She knew her death was coming, so she did something a little different: She wrote her own obituary, three months before her death. And her words are truly inspirational. "My name is Sonia Todd, and I died of cancer at the age of 38. I decided to write my own obituary because they are usually written in a couple of different ways that I just don’t care for. Either, family or friends gather together, and list every minor accomplishment from cradle to grave in a timeline format, or they try and create one poetic last stanza about someone’s life that is so glowing one would think the deceased had been the living embodiment of a deity.” "The truth, or my version of it, is this: I just tried to do the best I could. Sometimes I succeeded, most of the time I failed, but I tried. For all of my crazy comments, jokes and complaints, I really did love people. The only thing that separates me from anyone else is the type of sin each of us participated in. I didn't always do the right thing or say the right thing and when you come to the end of your life those are the things you really regret, the small simple things that hurt other people." "Some folks told me that writing my own obituary was morbid, but I think it is great because I get a chance to say thank you to all the people who helped me along the way. If you think of me, and would like to do something in honor of my memory do this: - Volunteer at a school, church or library. - Write a letter to someone and tell them how they have had a positive effect on your life. - If you smoke - quit. - If you drink and drive - stop. - Turn off the electronics and take a kid out for ice cream and talk to them about their hopes and dreams. - Forgive someone who doesn't deserve it. - Stop at all lemonade-stands run by kids and brag about their product. - Make someone smile What would be said about you when you die? Pause and think! #PsychologistOfChange

BECOMING THE BEST VERSION OF YOU Day 26: Successful Habits In a complete year of 365 days, we have 52 weeks to make our lives better. We try and try but most times, we end up frustrated because we don't change anything, we only want a different results. That defines insanity; doing what you've always done and expecting a different result. This short piece is simply about successful habits. Good or bad, our habits will always produce results, and much of what happens in future will be dependent on our current habits. If you want a change, make a change. If you want to start something new then get out of something old. It's that simple. How do you expect overnight success when you don't change how you live? Take time today to develop better habits. Let me ask you, what habits do you need to posses in order to be successful as you want to? What could you achieve if you develop one successful habit a month? But what specifically would you do to develop that kind of habit? Why are you not doing it? Remember, your life will never get better by chance but by change. Decide now, commit and succeed. Start developing more of successful habits, and you'll be a success. #SuccessAwaitsYou #SuccessIsYours #Elenu #PsychologistOfChange

BECOMING THE BEST VERSION OF YOU Day 26: The Miracle of self-discipline Elbert Hubbard, one of the most prolific writers in the history, at the beginning of 20th century said that, "The only key to success is the ability to do what you should do, when you should do it, whether you feel like it or not." According to him, it is the key to personal greatness and abundance; it's called self-discipline. With self-discipline, an average person can rise as far as fast as his skills and talent. People like this master whatever they need to do, and fuel themselves with enough momentum to pursue their dreams. But without self-discipline, even with all the resources and opportunity, one will seldom rise above mediocrity. One of the reasons people are not disciplined, according to a study, is defined by perspective. The study reveals that the most successful people think "long-term", while the rarely successful think "short-term", and this kind of mentality, whether long term or short term, determines how your level of self-discipline is. For self-discipline to be in place, you would have to: #1 Start thinking in the long-term. This is because short-term gain can cause long-term pain, and if you're a long-term person, you're in a way committed to self-discipline. #2 Start getting happy with "pleasing results" and not "pleasing methods." It's not the method that matters, it's the result. Do whatever it takes to get the results you want. #3 Practice the law of deferred gratification. This law states that you should put off satisfaction in the short-term in order to enjoy greater rewards in the long-term. But this will happen if you think long-term. #3 Get comfortable with uncomfortable. Do what it takes, not what you like. Remember, life begins outside your comfort zone. Apart from other keys to success, the habit of self-discipline, puts you ahead on the success list. #SuccessAwaitsYou #SuccessIsYours #Elenu #PsychologistOfChange
