Feel free to say no, but I was wondering if you'd do a tutorial on how you do your gif colorings? They're always so impressively vibrant ♥️

So, I do have an entire blog just for my colorings @creationsofthedark , where i shared over 300 psds, those are simple ones that work mostly on everything, but not really

I edit each gif separately now and i don't really save psds anymore. If i do i share them there

But they do show how I color gifs, from the very beginning of my "career as a gifmaker" lmao

There's also a tutorial how i make icons which basically explains the way i change colors on gifs, which i use for gifs, i use lots of layer masks for parts of the gifs, i change blending mode of the layer to something that looks better, most of the time it's 'soft light', like this

and with coloring

obviously i could make that blue darker with selective colors or something else, the gifset gonna be with lighter blue cos i think it turned out nice :3 i just did it to show it to you as example :D So, layer masks are not included in those psds i shared because they are mostly for parts of a gif/picture, and obviously won't work on anything but something i was giffing, so you can add them yourself.

I even have a screencap step by step tutorial of how i turn that horrible red shot of 13th doctor into something normal, so there are settings and all visible on screencaps

hello! i love the way you colour your gifs, they're always so vibrant and yet they retain such high quality, how do you even do this? esp your underworld gifs with michael sheen's lucian look so good, the movie is practically 99% blue and yet your gifs look nuanced. Have you also seen the first movie? I'm trying to find gifsets of lucian from the first and there's nothing! it's so sad cause he has such great scenes, like the one with the tragic backstory and so much more, would you ever gif him?

Hi! I’ll try to answer everything in order. :)

1) “i love the way you colour your gifs, they’re always so vibrant and yet they retain such high quality, how do you even do this?”I use bunch of psd coloring which you can easy find on tumblr. I like to use the ones @creationsofthedark makes. Also I use 1080p videos + smart filters + sharpening.

Anyway, this is the merit of such an excellent function as color balance. :)

on the left side are unedited gifs, on the right side after sharpening and coloring (had to use topaz on one of them also woops). some of these gifs i already made but with different colorings, but i think this time i did a better job lmao. and honestly where were my colorings skills when i was giffing “stand with me” scene from the doctor falls??? and i don’t know why i always go for super yellow hair for emma, ouat is so fun to color, at least this show had a normal lighting compared to other shows lol and i love making thirteen and thranduil’s lips so colored, they look good i think :D anyway, all of my before/after coloring gifs you also can see on my psd blog @creationsofthedark ; none of these are there tho :D
