Let your Steadfast Love Come to Me, O Lord
41 Let Thy mercies come also unto me, O LORD, even Thy salvation according to Thy word; 42 so shall I have the answer for him that reproacheth me, for I trust in Thy word. 43 And take not the word of truth utterly out of my mouth, for I have hoped in Thy judgments. 44 So shall I keep Thy law continually, for ever and ever. 45 And I will walk in liberty, for I seek Thy precepts. 46 I will speak of Thy testimonies also before kings, and will not be ashamed. 47 And I will delight myself in Thy commandments which I have loved. 48 My hands also will I lift up unto Thy commandments, which I have loved; and I will meditate on Thy statutes. — Psalm 119:41-48 | Third Millennium Bible (TMB) Third Millennium Bible, New Authorized Version, Copyright 1998 by Deuel Enterprises, Inc. Notes: All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made. Charles Spurgeon characterizes Psalm 119:41-48 in this way: “In these verses, holy fear is apparent and prominent. The man of God trembles for fear that in any way or degree the Lord might remove His favor from him.

Day 2 - “Great Bible Study is Habitual:
“We become what we repeatedly do.” – Sean Covey
“Whether we know it or not, our lives are based around our habits. What we eat, how we react to stress, whether or not we snooze the alarm – these are all dictated by the habits we have allowed into our lives.
Author Charles Duhigg writes that approximately 45% of everything we do in a day, every day, is habitual. If you have good habits, then this is encouraging. But if your habits aren’t what you want them to be, then that means half of the decisions you had the opportunity to make were already chosen for you (and poorly chosen at that).
I’m telling you this because I want you to grasp how important it really is to regularly get into God’s Word.
Why were the giants of faith we see in Scripture so effective? Because time with God and time in His Word were non-negotiable pieces of their every day.
Despite all the mistakes King David made, he kept coming back to God’s Word, readjusting his life according to what it said, and impacting Israel’s history because of it.
Paul grew up a passionate Pharisee who lived and breathed the Scriptures. And once Jesus upturned his life, he approached God’s Word with a whole new confidence and fulfilled his life’s purpose because of it.
If anyone could have taken a pass at a daily Bible habit, it was Jesus. Yet time and time again we see Jesus sneaking off to read and pray in quiet. He understood, better than any of us, how deeply our humanity needs to be fueled by encounters with the divine.
Pro-Tip: Struggling to consistently read your Bible? Leave it open and placed near either the entrance to your bedroom or kitchen. This way, just by going about your normal daily routine you'll read at least 1 verse as your walk by. The goal of creating a solid Bible habit is to make it simple (1 verse) and visual (already opened and in your path).”

Readings of Tuesday, October 15, 2024
Reading 1
GAL 5:1-6
Brothers and sisters: For freedom Christ set us free; so stand firm and do not submit again to the yoke of slavery. It is I, Paul, who am telling you that if you have yourselves circumcised, Christ will be of no benefit to you. Once again I declare to every man who has himself circumcised that he is bound to observe the entire law. You are separated from Christ, you who are trying to be justified by law; you have fallen from grace. For through the Spirit, by faith, we await the hope of righteousness. For in Christ Jesus, neither circumcision nor uncircumcision counts for anything, but only faith working through love.
Responsorial Psalm
PS 119:41, 43, 44, 45, 47, 48
R./ Let your mercy come to me, O Lord.
Let your mercy come to me, O LORD, your salvation according to your promise. R./ Let your mercy come to me, O Lord.
Take not the word of truth from my mouth, for in your ordinances is my hope. R./ Let your mercy come to me, O Lord.
And I will keep your law continually, forever and ever. R./ Let your mercy come to me, O Lord.
And I will walk at liberty, because I seek your precepts. R./ Let your mercy come to me, O Lord.

Gospel
LK 11:37-41
After Jesus had spoken, a Pharisee invited him to dine at his home. He entered and reclined at table to eat. The Pharisee was amazed to see that he did not observe the prescribed washing before the meal. The Lord said to him, "Oh you Pharisees! Although you cleanse the outside of the cup and the dish, inside you are filled with plunder and evil. You fools! Did not the maker of the outside also make the inside? But as to what is within, give alms, and behold, everything will be clean for you."

(Readings for the memorial)
(There is a choice today between the readings for the ferial day (Tuesday) and those for the memorial. The ferial readings are recommended unless pastoral reasons suggest otherwise)
First reading Romans 8:22-27 The Spirit himself intercedes with inexpressible groanings.
Brothers and sisters: We know that all creation is groaning in labor pains even until now; and not only that, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, we also groan within ourselves as we wait for adoption, the redemption of our bodies. For in hope we were saved. Now hope that sees for itself is not hope. For who hopes for what one sees? But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait with endurance. In the same way, the Spirit too comes to the aid of our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes with inexpressible groanings. And the one who searches hearts knows what is the intention of the Spirit, because he intercedes for the holy ones according to God’s will.
The Word of the Lord
R/ Thanks be to God.
Responsorial Psalm Psalm 19:8, 9, 10, 11
R/ The judgments of the Lord are true, and all of them are just. or R/ Your words, Lord, are Spirit and life.
The law of the LORD is perfect, refreshing the soul. The decree of the LORD is trustworthy, giving wisdom to the simple.
R/ The judgments of the Lord are true, and all of them are just. or R/ Your words, Lord, are Spirit and life.
The precepts of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart; The command of the LORD is clear, enlightening the eye.
R/ The judgments of the Lord are true, and all of them are just. or R/ Your words, Lord, are Spirit and life.
The fear of the LORD is pure, enduring forever; The ordinances of the LORD are true, all of them just.
R/ The judgments of the Lord are true, and all of them are just. or R/ Your words, Lord, are Spirit and life.
They are more precious than gold, than a heap of purest gold; Sweeter also than syrup or honey from the comb.
R/ The judgments of the Lord are true, and all of them are just. or R/ Your words, Lord, are Spirit and life.
Gospel Acclamation John 15:9b, 5b
Alleluia, alleluia. Remain in my love, says the Lord; whoever remains in me and I in him will bear much fruit. Alleluia, alleluia.
Gospel John 15:1-8 Whoever remains in me and I in him will bear much fruit.
Jesus said to his disciples: “I am the true vine, and my Father is the vine grower. He takes away every branch in me that does not bear fruit, and everyone that does he prunes so that it bears more fruit. You are already pruned because of the word that I spoke to you. Remain in me, as I remain in you. Just as a branch cannot bear fruit on its own unless it remains on the vine, so neither can you unless you remain in me. I am the vine, you are the branches. Whoever remains in me and I in him will bear much fruit, because without me you can do nothing. Anyone who does not remain in me will be thrown out like a branch and wither; people will gather them and throw them into a fire and they will be burned. If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask for whatever you want and it will be done for you. By this is my Father glorified, that you bear much fruit and become my disciples.”

"The Gravel." From Mark 1: 40-45.
Tumblr media
Jesus establishes prayer is a way of separating fact from fiction a about the Presence of the Holy Ghost within the mind. Now, at the conclusion of chapter 1, He addresses leprosy, the outward expression of this confusion.
Leprosy is a disease of disbelief, which is communicated by blasphemers and the corrupt. It is the result of ritual impurity, or a habitually chosen path that leads to wickedness and regret. Leprosy is primarily associated with hate speech. Hate speech turns the skin white from just as blessed speech has the power to transfigure. Here is how Jesus reacts to the disease: "do not talk freely."
He is indignant to a man who wants to be free of an in crowd that uses hate speech, meaning the man's choices were obvious: we are always in charge of what we say, to whom, and how we say it. Yet we seem to think we need a messianic figure to teach us how to convey our thoughts in a way that will be of value. Once again, I side with Jesus:
Jesus Heals a Man With Leprosy
40 A man with leprosy[h] came to him and begged him on his knees, “If you are willing, you can make me clean.”
41 Jesus was indignant.[i] He reached out his hand and touched the man. “I am willing,” he said. “Be clean!” 42 Immediately the leprosy left him and he was cleansed.
43 Jesus sent him away at once with a strong warning: 44 “See that you don’t tell this to anyone. But go, show yourself to the priest and offer the sacrifices that Moses commanded for your cleansing, as a testimony to them.”
45 Instead he went out and began to talk freely, spreading the news. As a result, Jesus could no longer enter a town openly but stayed outside in lonely places. Yet the people still came to him from everywhere.
The Values in Gematria are:
v. 40: Make me clean! Clean up your act, bozo! We are required to love our neighbor but also to rebuke him. The Number is 5107, הקז‎, the kez, "corner people."
"The verb קצץ (qasas) means to remove by cutting off. Noun קץ (qes) means end. Adjective קיצון (qison) means outermost or at the end.
The verb קצה (qasa) also means to cut off. Nouns קצה (qaseh), קצה (qasa), קצה (qeseh), קצו (qasu), קצת (qesat) all mean end. Sometimes these words indicate a mere corner (the "end" of a wall), and sometimes a combination of them convey an "end to end" or "whole" of something.
The noun קצון (qasin) describes the position of a man who has the authority to rule or make decisions: an end-maker, so to speak.
Verb קצע (qasa') means to scrape or scrape off. Noun קציעה (qesi'a) describes cassia, a kind of sweet smelling cinnamon powder, harvested by scraping it off from trees. Noun מקצעה (maqsu'a) denotes a scraping tool.
Perhaps a second verb קצע (qasa') appears to means to be cornered or to be set in corners. Noun מקצע (miqsoa') describes a corner structure."
v. 41-42: Jesus was indignant. The Number is 7527, זהב‎‎‎ז‎, "gold."
The gold standard in the Torah and the Gospels means "to surpass human evolution."
"Gold was erroneously deemed worthy of worship (Exodus 32:3-4), even though YHWH was described as to appear in golden splendor (Job 37:22). The Psalmist asserts that the words of YHWH are to be considered better than gold (Psalm 19:10, 119:72), and Jesus explains that although gold is great, it derives its greatness from something greater: the temple sanctifies the gold and not vice versa (Matthew 23:17).
Gold items were valuable but gold also held an enormous value to the wisdom tradition. Very long ago observers noted that gold is the only substance known to man that doesn't transmute into something else. And since everything else, sooner or later, changes into something else, gold was seen as the ultimate result of all change: perfection, in one word. Gold held that status until the Word of the Lord came along (or rather: descended from where it had always existed) and surpassed the extent of natural evolution."
v. 43-44: Jesus sent him away with a warning. The warning is always "do not deprive others of their dignity or justice."
From Ki Setzei:
"17 Do not deprive the foreigner or the fatherless of justice, or take the cloak of the widow as a pledge. 18 Remember that you were slaves in Egypt and the Lord your God redeemed you from there. That is why I command you to do this. 19 When you are harvesting in your field and you overlook a sheaf, do not go back to get it. Leave it for the foreigner, the fatherless and the widow, so that the Lord your God may bless you in all the work of your hands. 20 When you beat the olives from your trees, do not go over the branches a second time. Leave what remains for the foreigner, the fatherless and the widow. 21 When you harvest the grapes in your vineyard, do not go over the vines again. Leave what remains for the foreigner, the fatherless and the widow. 22 Remember that you were slaves in Egypt. That is why I command you to do this."
The Number is 12700, יב‎ן‎, yavn, "the grit."
Stones are the qualities in the Ephod, this we know. The gravel, the grit, hasas means to use appropriate arguments against the wicked things others do when they misbehave; to shoot arrows at them:
"The verb חצץ (hasas) also means to divide. This verb doesn't occur very often in the Bible; a mere two times: Proverbs 30:27 and Job 21:21. But its derivatives occur more frequent:
The masculine noun חצץ (hasas), meaning gravel (as divided, comminuted, proposes BDB Theological Dictionary). This noun occurs twice: Proverbs 20:17 and Lamentations 3:16.
The masculine noun חץ (hes), meaning arrow. This noun occurs 56 times in the Bible, often in the literal sense of arrows being shot during a military effort (2 Chronicles 26:15, Isaiah 5:28). Once arrows are used in some kind of divination ritual (Ezekiel 21:21), and often arrows are symbols for the words or acts of wicked people who seek to fell the righteous (Psalm 11:2, 57:4, Jeremiah 9:7; also see Ephesians 6:16). Why arrows were known by this word is not clear, and none of the consulted sources hints at an explanation. Perhaps because the arrow was the smallest of weapons, or because an arrow is placed on the middle of a bow. It may also be because one soldier would shoot multiple arrows, and his singular force of attack would be divided over his many arrows.
The denominative verb חצץ (hasas), meaning to shoot arrows. This verb occurs one time, in Judges 5:11."
v. 45: Jesus went to the lonely places. The Number is 12327, יבגב‎ז‎, yagbuz, "white, like an egg", AKA "the words we live by." AKA Jesus mimicked the Holy Spirit, and he was the only One:
"Feelings are lawless, and lawlessness binds people in chains of darkness (Acts 26:29, Ephesians 6:20). Words are lawful, and lawfulness sheds light in the darkness of feelings. Words, like love, binds people in living networks. That is why Jesus is the Word, who fulfills the Law (Matthew 5:17, Romans 13:8). Jesus' enemy is the Man of Lawlessness; the Man of Feelings (2 Thessalonians 2:3).
Since reason is enlightenment and joint reason equals standing on dry land in the bright light of day, the deep is utterly dark and breathless (i.e. spirit-less; see πνευμα, pneuma). When Peter sank away in the sea (Matthew 14:30), he basically became overwhelmed by a wordless and spiritless mass of feelings.
Jesus, on the other hand, walked on water, and so mimicked the Holy Spirit in the beginning (Genesis 1:2), and the Ark of Noah upon the Great Flood (Genesis 7:17).
It's important that the reader understands that these are not metaphors but self-similarities. A metaphor compares one thing with another thing, even though the second thing has nothing to do with the first thing.
A self-similarity, on the other hand, describes two things that are both integral parts of one and the same dynamic system, and have come into being via the exact same process. The veins of a leaf and the branches of a tree are self-similar; you have one because you have the other. The irregular shape of kernels of sand on the beach is self-similar to the irregular shape of the landmass of a coast on a map; you have one because you have the other.
We modern westerners tend to depict soul and mind as "things" that exist within the body like wine in a glass. The Bible, on the other hand, depicts mind as self-similar to space, particles to words and the continuum of time to the continuum of human experience. To the Bible, the mind is the canopy of veiny leaves that grow from the many branches of the tree that is the body.
Said otherwise, mind, like electricity, is an emergent property of matter, that has existed always as an defining part of matter, and may be bundled like gravity, when material structures rise above a critical level of complexity.
To the Bible, words are literally bits of congealed mind, that link together into objects that are thoughts, that stack together into the worlds in which we live. And that is not a metaphor."
Pure white like an egg, or like a flaky frosted cereal?
Thus ends the first chapter of the First Gospel of Jesus Christ, the very best Torah Instruction in the Embodiment of the Supreme Spirit.

Free from Frostbite
On a winter day, my children begged to go sledding. The temperature hovered near zero degree Fahrenheit. Snowflakes raced by our windows. I thought it over and said yes, but asked them to bundle up, stay together and come inside after fifteen minutes.
Out of Love, I created those rules to my children could they play freely without suffering frostbite. I think the author of Psalm 119 recognized the same good intent in God as he penned two consecutive verses that might seem contradictory: "I will always obey your law" and "I will walk about it freedom, for I have sought out your percepts" (VV. 44-45). How is it that the psalmist associated freedom with a spiritually law-abiding life?
Following God's wise instruction allows us to escape the consequences that come from choices we later wish we could undo. Without the weight of guilt or pain we are freer to enjoy our lives. God doesn't want to control us with doe and don'ts; rather, His guidelines show that He loves us.
While my kids were sledding, I watched them blast down the hill. I smiled at the sound of their laughter and the sight of their pink cheeks. They were free within the boundaries I'd give them. This compelling paradox is present in our relationship with God - it leads us to say with the psalmist, "Direct me in the path of your commands, for there I find delight" (Psalm 119:35).

Ezekiel 44:1-45:12, 1 Peter 1:1-12, Psalm 119:17-32, Proverbs 28:8-10
Today is the 22nd day of November, welcome to the Daily Audio Bible. I am Brian. It's great to be here with you today as we continue the journey, continue taking steps forward, every step will be made before the end of this year, and we will complete the Bible. And there’s not too many days left, but we’re not there yet. And there's plenty, plenty that the Lord would like to speak into our lives before we reach the conclusion of this year. And so, let's take that next step forward and hang out, hang out till the end today. I have a story to tell, a long story of the last couple of years and some future plans and where we’re, where we’re going in the coming year. So, hang out for that at the end but we’re at the beginning. Let’s dive in, today, Ezekiel chapter 44 verse 1 through 45 verse 12.
Introduction to First Peter:
Okay, so, we finished the book of James yesterday, that brings us another step closer to the end of the New Testament. And that brings us to become reunited with an old friend, the apostle Peter. We met, well, we met Peter in the Gospels and we’ve gotten to know him through the book of Acts. We've kind of seen his personality and some of these other depictions of who he is. We’re now at his letters. So, getting to know his voice in written form. The first letter is known as First Peter. And so, Peters name Simon or Simeon was his given name but by the time he became part of Jesus disciples, Jesus had given him the name Cephas. And in Aramaic that means rock. And when Aramaic is translated into Greek of the New Testament, the word is Petros. And then we can see how Peter and Petros have their connections in the English translation Peter.

Why Me?
To the choirmaster. A Maskil of the Sons of Korah.
1 We have heard with our ears, O God, our fathers have told us, what work thou didst in their days in the times of old. 2 How thou didst drive out the Gentiles with thy hand and plant them in their place; how thou didst afflict the peoples and cast them out. 3 For they did not get the land in inheritance by their own sword, neither did their own arm save them, but thy right hand and thine arm, and the light of thy countenance because thy delight was in them. 4 Thou art my King, O God; command saving health unto Jacob. 5 Through thee will we push down our enemies; through thy name will we tread under those that rise up against us. 6 For I will not trust in my bow, neither shall my sword save me. 7 But thou hast saved us from our enemies and hast put to shame those that hated us. 8 In God we boast all the day long and praise thy name for ever. Selah. 9 But thou hast cast us off and put us to shame and doth not go forth with our armies. 10 Thou makest us to turn back from the enemy, and we are spoiled by those who hate us. 11 Thou hast given us over like sheep appointed for food and hast scattered us among the Gentiles. 12 Thou hast sold thy people for nothing and dost not increase thy wealth by their price. 13 Thou makest us a reproach to our neighbours, a scorn and a derision to those that are round about us. 14 Thou makest us a byword among the Gentiles, a shaking of the head among the people. 15 My confusion is continually before me, and the shame of my face has covered me, 16 for the voice of him that reproaches and blasphemes by reason of the enemy and of the avenger. 17 All this is come upon us; yet we have not forgotten thee, neither have we dealt falsely in thy covenant. 18 Our heart is not turned back, neither have our steps declined from thy way 19 though thou hast sore broken us in the place of dragons and covered us with the shadow of death. 20 If we have forgotten the name of our God or stretched out our hands to a strange god, 21 shall not God search this out? For he knows the secrets of the heart. 22 Yea, for thy sake are we killed all the day long; we are counted as sheep for the slaughter. 23 Awake, why sleepest thou, O Lord? Arise, do not cast us off for ever. 24 Why dost thou hide thy face and forget our affliction and our oppression? 25 For our soul is bowed down to the dust; our belly cleaves unto the earth. 26 Arise for our help and ransom us for thy mercies’ sake. — Psalm 44 | Jubilee Bible 2000 (JUB) Jubilee Bible 2000 Copyright © 2000, 2001, 2010 by Life Sentence Publishing, Inc. The Entry of the Most Holy Mother of God into the Temple
Commemorated on November 21
According to Holy Tradition, the Entry of the Most Holy Theotokos into the Temple took place in the following manner. The parents of the Virgin Mary, Saints Joachim and Anna, praying for an end to their childlessness, vowed that if a child were born to them, they would dedicate it to the service of God.
When the Most Holy Virgin reached the age of three, the holy parents decided to fulfill their vow. They gathered together their relatives and acquaintances, and dressed the All-Pure Virgin in Her finest clothes. Singing sacred songs and with lighted candles in their hands, virgins escorted Her to the Temple (Ps. 44/45:14-15). There the High Priest and several priests met the handmaiden of God. In the Temple, fifteen high steps led to the sanctuary, which only the priests and High Priest could enter. (Because they recited a Psalm on each step, Psalms 119/120-133/134 are called “Psalms of Ascent.”) The child Mary, so it seemed, could not make it up this stairway. But just as they placed Her on the first step, strengthened by the power of God, She quickly went up the remaining steps and ascended to the highest one. Then the High Priest, through inspiration from above, led the Most Holy Virgin into the Holy of Holies, where only the High Priest entered once a year to offer a purifying sacrifice of blood. Therefore, all those present in the Temple were astonished at this most unusual occurrence.
After entrusting their child to the Heavenly Father, Joachim and Anna returned home. The All-Holy Virgin remained in the quarters for virgins near the Temple. According to the testimony of Holy Scripture (Exodus 38; 1 Kings 1: 28; Luke 2: 37), and also the historian Josephus Flavius, there were many living quarters around the Temple, in which those who were dedicated to the service of God dwelt.
The earthly life of the Most Holy Theotokos from Her infancy until She was taken up to Heaven is shrouded in deep mystery. Her life at the Jerusalem Temple was also a secret. “If anyone were to ask me,” said Saint Jerome, “how the Most Holy Virgin spent the time of Her youth, I would answer that that is known to God Himself and the Archangel Gabriel, Her constant guardian.”
But there are accounts in Church Tradition, that during the All-Pure Virgin’s stay at the Temple, She grew up in a community of pious virgins, diligently read the Holy Scripture, occupied Herself with handicrafts, prayed constantly, and grew in love for God. From ancient times, the Church has celebrated the Feast of the Entry of the Most Holy Theotokos into the Temple. Indications that the Feast was observed in the first centuries of Christianity are found in the traditions of Palestinian Christians, which say that the holy Empress Helen (May 21) built a church in honor of the Entry of the Most Holy Theotokos into the Temple.
Saint Gregory of Nyssa, in the fourth century, also mentions this Feast. In the eighth century Saints Germanus and Tarasius, Patriarchs of Constantinople, delivered sermons on the Feast of the Entry.
The Feast of the Entry of the Most Holy Theotokos into the Temple foretells God’s blessing for the human race, the preaching of salvation, the promise of the coming of Christ.

Verse: Psalms 119:41-48
Write/ Copy Gods words :
41 May your unfailing love come to me, LORD, your salvation, according to your promise; 42 then I can answer anyone who taunts me, for I trust in your word. 43 Never take your word of truth from my mouth, for I have put my hope in your laws. 44 I will always obey your law, for ever and ever. 45 I will walk about in freedom, for I have sought out your precepts. 46 I will speak of your statutes before kings and will not be put to shame, 47 for I delight in your commands because I love them. 48 I reach out for your commands, which I love, that I may meditate on your decrees.
What is your Favorite verse(s):
45 I will walk about in freedom, for I have sought out your precepts.
Explain in your own words what you just read:
O Lord, may your unfailing love come to me, your salvation according to your promise; I will answer the one who tease me, for I trust in your word. Do not catch the word of truth from my mouth, for I have already put my hope in your authority. I will always obey your law forever & ever.
What is God saying to you/me :
God is telling me that His love grant me in my heart as I read His gospel
Commitment / what will i do :
I will tell your command because I take joy in meditating in it
