Can we see a picture of you and your wife please? I need to see how adorable y’all are
i don’t really like posting selfies on tumblr much. i know the site has changed a lot since then, but i had some very bad experiences in 2013-2014.
i do have a couple pics of us up here and here but if you want more than that you’ll have to go digging through my twitter lol
also just a general note for those who care, devin is using they/them pronouns now! they’re still good with the term wife, but you’ll be seeing me refer to them as they/them from now on unless they decide otherwise.

Ok so I found your blog and it seems cool and then I noticed “cult survivor.” Are you gonna tell us that story?
“Btw if it’s not healthy for you to talk about it that’s fine you don’t have to I’m just curious”
i’ve actually talked about it some under #ex cult, #ex evangelical, and #religious trauma (and a few other tags i’m sorry my blog is a mess) if you’re curious tho tbh i don’t think i’ve ever actually told the full story so here’s the cliff notes version:
My family moved to Indiana when I was 8 and fun fact, when you’re going through a transitional period in life, like moving, or going through a big breakup, or starting college, you’re more vulnerable to falling into all sorts of unhealthy situations, including joining a cult. My mom had this friend, let’s call her Jill, from her master’s degree program, who already lived in the town we were moving to. I honestly can’t speak to what Jill’s intentions were, but she invited us to her church as soon as we were moved down here. She even set me and my my sibling Aiden up with some kids from the church to be pen pals in the months before we moved. And once we moved, we tried out a couple of different churches in the area, but that was really a formality, my mom had already been offered a job at the church and she’d more or less made up her mind before we even moved.
So we start attending this “non-denominational christian community church” aka evangelical megachurch. And they have these small group bible study programs that meet during the week to keep up indoctrination and the welcoming comittee wasted no time getting us into one of those. Like, iirc we were at a meeting for one the first week after we’d moved. Actually babysitting during these things was my first job a few years later. The point is now I know this is called “love bombing,” and it’s a cult recruitment tactic where you just smother your target in good vibes and get ideally get them enmeshed in the process. It worked.
So we’re in a cult, yadda yadda yadda, and for a while I was all the way in. My dad ended up being an elder at the church and my mom is director of Sunday school for the younger kids, like infant-preschool. My mom already knew she disagreed with most of their theology and politics. She had this idea that we’d go to church for the community, then at home, she’d teach us actually good morals. That didn’t happen. Like, she tried, but even if your parents say one thing, it’s hard to believe when every other trusted adult in your life says something else. BUT when I was 16 I tried coming out to her, stupid idea, I know, but hey it worked out.
So it was awkward at first. She wasn’t really open about the fact that she was ok about it, and told me to stay in the closet, which gave me the impression that she wasn’t ok about it, so I spent about 6 months walking on eggshells and ready to bolt at a moment’s notice. Then when I had just turned 17, it was around Christmas, they sat me down and were like “are you sure you’re gay?” and I was like yes. And that was the motivation they needed to get out of there.
So there’s my cult story. There’s a lot more to it of course but that’s the short version.
#kiosk rambles#ex cult#i don't really have the time or energy to Get Into It but there's the general order of events#ask#prussia-strange-saffron

What is radical feminism that includes trans women? (You support and include trans women, right?)
All radical feminists have one thing in common—we believe that male supremacy has to be abolished in order to liberate society, but namely women, from the Ol’ Patriarchy.
We believe it’s the only way to ensure women will no longer be oppressed, exploitated, or discriminated against because of biology—so we would destroy the system that normalized this treatment in the first place.
But yes, you would be correct. I include trans women in my feminism because they too are oppressed, exploited and discriminated against because of their biology—by the same exact people nonetheless.

Don’t you think it’s kinda messed up that the royal family lives off tax money while their countrymen starve?
Kind of, but I believe that the royal family has a job to do and as long as their public is comfortable with funding that job, then that’s how it’s supposed to be. A monarchy is anything but equal at its very core. If you support the monarchy then you have to be okay with some level of inequality. Their jobs include finding ways to mitigate their cost by benefiting those who suffer and I personally believe they do a good job of it. Things are not perfect but the world is not perfect and I think they do a great job of trying to brighten up the lives of the people they serve in the best way they can.

Ok so I KNOW this is kinda in your faq but what’s the real answer about the abridged bible you wrote when you were 11? I need it
i’ll be honest: i wasn’t gonna answer this initially. not because i’m angry or anything! just because i get the same question every day, about ten times a day, both in my inbox and in my DMs, and it’s usually easier to just delete the asks and move on. but then i realised it’s actually been a while since i answered any questions about The Bible Post, and given the way it’s been blowing up recently, i probably should.
the answer to “are you going to publish the full thing?” is, “probably not, no.”
the reasons for this are as follows:
when i publish things, i like them to be complete.
the Bible Post as it stands is 14 pages of choppy, unedited 11-year-old writing. apart from the bits you’ve seen, it’s not that funny, and it’s not that clever. a lot of it is jokes that i stole from monty python, or blackadder, or terry pratchett, or other things that i was into at the time.
i don’t feel comfortable posting something (on ao3 or otherwise) that i’m unhappy with. that’s partly why i tend to delete old works that i no longer think are up to scratch, or current works that i can’t see myself finishing. (my 2010 fictionpress account is a barren desert with the occasional tumbleweed blowing sadly by.)
the “probably” in my original answer is only there because someday (who knows?) i might rework it, and then publish it, if there’s enough interest. and i say “might”, because:
between my master’s degree, my job(s), and my original writing, i’m pretty swamped. that means i have to prioritise. i barely have enough time to write fic as it is (and i already feel guilty enough about that, as it’s technically just a hobby and not something that i need to be doing).
when i rewrote the bible, i was an edgy preteen atheist who thought the idea of a big man in the sky was silly and that people who believed it were also silly. i no longer feel that way. this isn’t to say i can’t see the funny side of religion, or that i won’t ever parody it again - but i’d rather do so with humour that punches up rather than down, and is fair-minded rather than mean-spirited.
i’d rather focus on my current creative output than rework old stories.
i don’t want to give the devil any more reasons to send me to hell.
if you want to know more, just mosey on down and click this ole link over here –> https://punkfaery.tumblr.com/tagged/the-bible-post
i hope this didn’t come across as snippy! i’m very glad that people are still enjoying that post; i just want to make it clear that you probably won’t see any more of it for the time being, unless someone else wants to have a go at redoing it. which they’re welcome to! i’m sure there are plenty of people out there who’d do a much better job than me.
peace out

I fully support trans people’s and women’s rights and protection from discrimination.

Who is Peasley?
Ah, you haven't heard my Peasley rant before-
Well, buckle up my friend!
(it's not actually gonna be very long because I'm bad at words)
So! Prince Peasley is the prince of the Beanbean Kingdom, the land you explore in Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga!
Here's the official art for him
He's beautiful and flaunts his hair and smile which is great ofc! And I was going to show a gif of that in the 3ds remake but tumbly is dumb so I guess not! Have a preview of a drawing of him instead ;)
I do take my own liberties when I draw him, but I think that's the fun of art, y'know? You don't have to follow the guidelines set by official work! :3
Oh and also he's gay for Luigi and you absolutely cannot change my mind! (Luisley is like my #1 otp so)
(PS you've relit my spark and inspired me to draw Peasley again, so thank you!!)
#i will slowly but surely spread my ship to the masses#but for now#we need to show everyone that Peasley deserves to come back in another M&L game!#prussia-strange-saffron#friend ask#Thanks for asking!#mario and luigi#super mario
