As Color Street opens in Canada Aug 9, today I’m highlighting Quebec. Photos were taken when we visited Quebec in 2008. We stayed in Montreal and visited Old Quebec and Quebec City. After visiting Paris ten years later in 2018, I realize just how much parts of Quebec resemble Paris including a Notre Dame.Although I only took 2 years of French in High School, the language spoken in Quebec is French and in the neighboring States. Quebec is the largest province by area, and the second-largest by population Much of the population live in urban areas along the St. Lawrence River, between the Montreal, and the province's capital city, Quebec City. Quebec is the home of the Québécois, recognized as a nation by both the provincial and federal governments. Dating back to 1608, Vieux-Québec and Place Royale has stone buildings and narrow streets. It is the home of of the towering Château Frontenac Hotel and Citadelle of Québec. I love the Petit Champlain district’s cobblestone streets lined with bistros and boutiques. Montréal is the largest city in Canada's Québec province. It’s set on an island in the Saint Lawrence River. Montreal is the largest city and pretty much the epitome of French Canada, it's a city you shouldn’t miss whilst in Quebec. There is something going on all year long. Michael and I enjoyed the International Jazz Festival while we were there. One of the many festivals they hold. Montreal is fun and a pretty city to explore plus the food is amazing. Located along the St. Lawrence River near downtown, Old Montreal is a collection of the oldest and prettiest buildings in the city. Strolling the streets is easily one of the best things to do in Montreal while in the historic area. For me, the quaint old streets and buildings are reminiscent of Paris, with plenty of little shops and restaurants just waiting to be explored. The Notre-Dame Basilica is 1656 religious jewel of the city, as well as the Old Port and Place Jacques-Cartier. Expo67 was held in Montreal at Exposition Universelle. #quebec #provincetour #canadatour #vivadivageri #montreal#colorstreetcanadacoming2021 🇨🇦 #canadiangirl #canadianprovinces #joincolorstreetcanada https://www.instagram.com/p/CSNQXSPpKgg/?utm_medium=tumblr
