No planet B?? 😵 Well, that's just great! So you're telling me that we've only got one planet to work with? 🤷 I guess we better take really good care of it, or else we're all screwed! I mean, we can't just go out and buy a new planet, can we? No Amazon Prime shipping for that one! I guess we'll have to settle for fixing up this old planet and hope it lasts us a while. Who knows, maybe we can give it a fresh coat of paint or some new appliances and it'll be good as new! 😆✌️💚

Every time I go outside the world has changed a little more, and it feels very bizarre to me after being socially distanced in a personal lockdown for my health and covid prevention. In some ways it’s very dystopian out there, you know: bleak, scary, tense, and difficult to navigate. And yet in other ways it’s strangely beautiful, too. There’s still a lot of that collaborative, lets-work-together energy. In the same building with the heart wrenching George Floyd sign (slide 2) I also witnessed a wonderful ride share driver helping an elderly disabled man carry all his groceries up the stairs and make sure he got inside safely. For every crumpled flower on the ground, crushed, stepped on, and smashed down, I saw new gardens in places there hadn’t been before. I think that’s sort of how a lot of us are feeling, trying to make the best of this changed world and it’s seemingly endless struggles. Trying to “grow through what we go through” and come out the other side with some sort of beauty and joy in tact. And when we can’t make our own, we help others find theirs... which in turn does help us find the light too. It is hard to find brightness in this dark, dismal barrage of death and destruction on the news, but we can manufacture some goodness and hopefully spread seeds of empathy and kindness. I don’t have any really good ideas or answers on a grand scale, but I don’t think many of us are able to see that big right now.
