imagine your doting f/o(s) taking care of you during a flare up! giving you your meds, helping you brush your hair, making sure you have everything you need before settling in with you.

if you want a distraction from the pain, they'll tell you about their day, make small talk, put on your favorite tv show, whatever you want!

they'll make dinner for you (or order something if they can't cook), soothe you through your pain, cuddling and rocking you back and forth, letting you cry into their shirt, etc.

even if you like to play rough, even if you have a dynamic others consider "unhealthy" or "problematic", your f/o will never do things you don't like.

they won't hurt you in ways you don't wanna be hurt. they will stop when you want them to stop. they love you, even if other people can't understand how.

Selfshippers with any sort of OCD, Intrusive Thoughts or Disordered Thinking:

Your F/O(s) doesn't think for a second that you're disgusting or dangerous or anything of the sort. They know your thoughts are out of your control and are not based on your beliefs.

If you have nightmares, your F/O(s) are right there to comfort you, whether that's hugs, turning on lights or music, bringing you water, or just sitting nearby until you feel safer.

If something they do triggers you, they'll change that behaviour immediately. You're much more important than whatever habits they may have.

If you're struggling to take care of yourself, your F/O(s) will bring you food, help clean your space, and offer to share baths or showers with you to encourage you.

If you're struggling to remember your medications, they'll set whatever reminders they have to so that they remember for you.

Your F/O(s) know all the things that will help comfort you and make you feel safe and will do everything to make sure your space feels as good for you as possible, whether there's fidget toys, soft blankets, stuffed animals, blackout curtains, nightlights, or anything else you might need.

Your F/O(s) know you can't choose your thoughts, nightmares, or symptoms, so they do not judge you for a second for any of them. Instead, they simply love and support you!

Your f/o(s) would never judge or shame or bully or infantilize you because of your triggers, no matter what they are. No matter if they don't have a problem with the thing themselves, no matter how silly or weird the thing may seem. No matter what.

They will always be more than happy to help you avoid your triggers whenever they show up because they love you, and your safety and your comfort are what matters most to them. They will immediately do whatever calms you down, be it distracting you in some way, getting you to another area away from the trigger, or anything else that helps you.

Even if it happens in the middle of a movie (even if they were super invested in watching it), they'd immediately turn it off. They would never treat you like an inconvenience or a burden. They just want you to be okay and be happy. They'd even check on that trigger website (if it covers yours) before you watch something together because they want to be extra sure that it'll be safe for you.

If you suddenly encounter something that triggers you when you're playing a video game, after calming you down your f/o would figure out how to get past it for you so you don't have to deal with it any more and so you can still play the rest of the game if you wanted to (unless it stays like that of course).

Your f/o has the utmost respect for you and it really shows in their care for you. And if anybody ever mistreats you because of your triggers? Even if your f/o isn't the confrontational type, you better believe that they're standing up for you. There's no way they're letting anybody upset you further, no matter who it is doing it. They will always have your back.

Your f/o loves and respects you more than anything. Even if it feels like nobody else does, your f/o always will.

Close your eyes and imagine your F/O wrapping their arms around you. How real and steady their arms feel as they pull you against them and hold you with just the right amount of pressure to make you feel safe.

Take a deep breath, and hold that image in yourself for a few moments. Draw strength from it. Know that you're safe with your F/O, and they love you so much.

If you and your dominant f/o are into intense degrading roleplay, imagine the two of you having a non verbal signal that they give you to let you know they still love and care about you. For example maybe they’re objectifying you in this roleplay, calling you their toy and saying you were made to be used by them, but to keep you from getting too immersed in their words, they gently pinch the shell of your ear or smth distinct like that, which is them silently reminding you that they don’t really mean it and that they still cherish you for the wonderful being you are
