someone left a really good set of tags on the life series winner post but in essence i agree that while i like the watchers in theory as window dressing to the entire tragedy fueling this endless cycle of blood sports i think its a million times more intriguing and engaging for the truth of the matter to be that the lifers themselves are the reason for their own suffering. the watchers are just kind of there as an excuse for their own faults

MARTYN WONNNNNNNNNN!!!!!!!
I have watched Martyn's pov for every single life series
AND HE FINALLY WON
Honestly throughout pretty much the entire thing I've thought he had good chances but WOW yes :DD
Now all I need to do is catch up on BigB and watch Jimmy's lol
Anyway, as I was chanting throughout the end,
MARTYN LORE MARTYN LORE MARTYN LORE MARTYN LORE MARTYN LORE MARTYN LORE
Now I haven't seen the full summary of his lore but UMM???? HELLO??????
I have so many questions, did the listeners just set him free??? Is he the fragment??? WHO PROTECTED HIM????? The fragment stuff I assume has been explained and I just haven't seen it but maybe not? But AAAAHHHHHHHH
Also the way how they ere all discussing how it was gonna go down and Martyn just killed them xdd I do wish he'd gone for Impulse first because Mean Gills to the end but it was the best option XD
Anyway <333 amazing session, amazing episode, and amazing season :')
Limited Life is over. It was one heck of a ride guys :D
10/10 loved it

Amazing breaking news for Bible Prophecy Watchers. There have been discussions with the exiled Iranian Prince and Israel about peace between Iran and Israel. Unbelievable.
Just as unbelievable is the hit movie of 2023, Jesus Revolution. The Hippies Christian revival of the late 1960s and early 1970s is creating a storm in the theatres around the world. Amazing.

My controversial opinions is that I don't mind curses when done well. I love pattern recognition and mythologizing silly Minecraft series. To me curses are a recognition of luck (or lack thereof) as well as player behavior, eg. Grian's widow curse (it's a combination of grian being reckless and thus pushing his allies to be reckless, Grian refusing to self sacrifice 90% of the time, and Grian being quick to anger and thus betray, as well as grian sometimes pre-emptively mourning his teammates before they even die) is interesting to me because of... That. Because of it being his own fault, a result of his behavior and habits, rather than an all knowing God forcefully widowing him. THAT'S boring. Similarly, I always saw Jimmy's canary curse as being a mixture of astronomically bad luck, as well as him being a common target (both for bullying and persecuting), and him being clumsy/easily panicking when overwhelmed. It's not "curse of Jimmy sucks at Minecraft" or "curse of the watchers killing Jimmy first all the time with no other player input". To me the "curse" is intangible, it isn't actually a force pushing towards a certain outcome rather it is a self fulfilling prophecy based not on any sort of magic or supernaturality but simply based on players' fatal flaws. And the canary curse, as well, was always meant to be twofold; it's not just "Jimmy is cursed to die first" but also "Jimmy dying is the death of purity and peace", hence canary, and I always thought it to be beautiful symbolism. I think it gets a bad rep because it's true a lot of people have run it to the ground and also there are people who use it to take agency away from players and meaning away from their decisions, but imo I always thought these curses to be really nice and fun symbolism

2024 fic list!
It's been a quiet year on the fic front for me, but thank you to anyone who read anything of mine this year! Below is everything that I wrote this year!
Adventures To The Grave: Joe Hills set out with a shovel over his shoulder and a whistling song in his lungs. Walk with him as he meets a few friends along his journey.
Joe Hills Puppet Surgery: Joe Hills wants to be a puppet for Hermitcraft Season 10. ZombieCleo helps.
Grian the Self-Insert Fic Writer: Grian meets with the Watchers during Secret Life to pitch a few secret task ideas.
Those Sneaky Little Snails: Scar notices that something seems a little off about his friends Grian and Gem.
Rematch: xB and Etho spar on Gem's beach. It reminds them of another sparring match from back in the day.
Beetrayal: Mogswamp killed his bee Sweetpea. He feels sad.
My Precious (what happens when Ren gets head): King Ren had a really weird relationship with that decapitated Impulse head, huh?
My Friend, My Enemy, My Everything In-Between: Pearl may not have administered the final blow, but she still helped kill Gem in Secret Life. Gem, upset, talks to Cleo about it in the afterlife, as they watch the final two players fight for the Secret Life crown.
The Prophecy of xB: the Empires s1 Flower Huslands have lunch and exchange stories.
A Grave Chat: Cleo is spirling. The moon is big. Joe Hills digs a second grave.
Grumbot Saving Face: the Grumbot built on the Empires s2 server was trapped in a glass box, broken and alone. He breaks out, but there seems to be nothing left.
Clean Up: the watchers needed someone to clean up the mess that was 3rd life. Mop the sand. Reshape the landscape. Prepare for the next game.
Alliances Aren't All They're Cracked Up To Be: Impulse and Tango run into each other during Wild Life. They talk about their alliances.
Listening In: a re-imagining of Grian taking Martyn's listening power in Wild Life, and Martyn and him having a conversation only the two of them can hear in entirety.

Just humbly raising a flag for romancing and befriending Emmrich as a Grey Warden because I love the entire faction (hello Alistair and Blackwall ish and Davrin and Awakening companions I love you) and I love how the purpose of the Grey Wardens is interesting to contemplate alongside Emmrich's character arc.
There's something very cool about a character who has (regardless of whether it was done willingly or out of desperate circumstances, that's on you and your Rook) committed to death in a similar-yet-different way to the Mourn Watchers. The Mourn Watchers venerate death and seek to treat the dead with the same respect that the living expect of each other. The Grey Wardens take you, plop you into the middle of a blight (or some equally cursed situation if we're in times of relative calm) and expect you to live as though you are already dead, because that's where this is all heading, it's where we're all headed, so if we're all careening towards the end anyway then you have a duty to make sure what you do while you're alive counts for something.
And so in addition to just thinking that Davrin and Emmrich would have a really cool friendship based on this notion of Emmrich understanding and respecting death but ultimately fearing it while Davrin is like "I am ready to face death at any moment if that is what the greater good demands of me" but fumbling at the possibility of how to live free of that duty when it eventually is lifted, I appreciate what a Rook Warden can add to that dynamic.
I think it's meaningful AF to be able to share your vulnerabilities with someone who you hold not only an emotional connection with but who serves as your near-opposite in terms of perspective. And I think so much could be learned in those conversations, and what makes it fascinating is that they need to learn the same exact thing, just because of different reasons.
Davrin and many other Grey Wardens (your Rook, included) are suddenly going to realize that they have to learn how to live for themselves, and not with ironclad prophecies for how they will die set in stone any longer in the absence/reduction of the Blight and the Calling.
Meanwhile, Emmrich, either still confronting death or realizing he will never face it, must learn how to live in spite of/free of his greatest fear for the first time.
Both need to make important discoveries about themselves, their priorities, and what to do with precious time you previously had chained behind walls of fear or duty. And I just think it's neat to explore.

Caution & Critical Thinking In Divination
Some of you might have been led to think that divination in some form or another is a fully reliable method to work out any kind of information; at least, so long as you can find a decent practitioner. But if there's any practitioner out there who can really nail 'em 100% of the time, most of us have yet to find them. Sure, we can find some people out there who can offer us some genuine insights and advice, but I don't think any of us here have ever met anyone who can get everything right all of the time.
In fact, there are a lot of reasons to exercise caution in terms of how we perceive and practice divination. For one thing, certain cognitive biases can make us overestimate it accuracy, while there are serious ethical concerns to be considered.
First, let's talk about the cognitive biases.
There's the Forer Effect, where we mistake vague or general statements as incredibly personalized, and therefore, highly accurate. Anyone who has ever considered a tarot reader super accurate because the reader told them that they were experiencing some conflict and needed to let go of things that were no longer serving them has experienced the Forer Effect.
There's also confirmation bias, where we latch onto details that feel relevant to us and let ourselves forget about the rest. How many of you pick-a-pile tarot reading video watchers out there are really keeping score of how much fit your situation vs. how much didn't? If you're not, try and start paying more attention.
Scammers will absolutely take advantage of this bias. For example, many fake mediums will make statements like, "I'm sensing a name starting with M... Mary... Maggie... Mildred..." Most of us probably know at least one person whose name starts with M, and if the medium sticks to the more common ones, is probably going to give a name that belongs to someone you know. This technique is known as shotgunning.
Sometimes, a reader will actually, genuinely make a super accurate observation or prediction. But that doesn't necessarily mean that you should take everything they say really seriously. For example, if someone makes a lot of predictions, then one of them is bound to come true eventually. The psychological phenomenon of thin-slicing can also produce some incredibly accurate readings.
There's also self-fulfilling prophecy. Let's say you ask a reader to tell you how your next date will go. The reader says it's not going to go well because the person you're on a date with is just not going to be a great person. Because you go in expecting your date to be kind of an ass and thinking this is going to be a waste of your time, you act hostile and impatient. Your date sees you acting this way and responds in kind - seemingly fulfilling the reader's prediction.
Certain bad discernment practices can make us mistake information we want to be true for information that is true. For example, in New Age and New Age-influenced communities, you might hear that you can discern spiritual truth by asking yourself whether it makes you feel good or bad. A reader might announce that the light beings from space are going to reveal themselves to the world on some soonish date, and tell people to ask their higher selves if they doubt them. The people who would really like it if benevolent aliens came to Earth and haven't learned yet that people are always making predictions like these and that these predictions always fail will most probably feel this surge of excitement, seemingly confirming the truthfulness of this information.
None of this is to say that you should never practice divination or go to a tarot reader or anything, but you need to be aware of this stuff so you can more critically evaluate readings.
Now let's move onto ethical concerns. Because to be blunt, some methods of divination are deeply, deeply inappropriate.
In general, any reading for a person who isn't there and cannot give consent is just... no. Anyone who does this most probably believes that divination works to some meaningful degree, which means that they are choosing to violate this person's privacy. Sometimes it's just straight-up stalking behavior, like trying to divine what your ex is thinking about and when you're going to get back together. Instead of being a creep, just do a cord-cutting spell and get on with your life.
If you need to find out what's going on with someone who is your partner? You need to work on your communication skills and talk to them, not run around them by going to a tarot reader who may or may not even give you accurate information.
Also, reading for celebrities is just... not great. News media treating celebrities' personal lives like more consumable products makes it easy to forget that celebrities are literally just people and also have a right to privacy. Trying to use your preferred method of divination to invade their privacy and dig into their love lives or whatever is just really not okay. You might not think it's a big deal, but it still feeds into our overall culture of commodifying celebrities' lives. If you're just bored and need something to do, you can use your divination tools as imagine prompts for fictional characters. If you're the kind of person who hyperfixates on real people, consider studying the life of a dead historical person.
Now we have to talk about a huge problem in the way a lot of people treat astrology. A lot of people use it like you can just tell anything and everything about a person's behavior and demeanor, even to the point of determining which people are good and which are evil. In reality, research has shown that you cannot tell anything about a person from their birth chart. (And there's no such thing as an ontologically good or bad person.)
Finally, because divination isn't really known for having a great record when it comes to gaining objective information, you should not use it to:
Diagnose or treat medical conditions.
Try to figure out what's "really" going on out in the world. The news may be unreliable, but this is a surefire way to speedrun total divorcement from reality. (Like the people who think Donald Trump is doing all kinds of heroics "behind the scenes" because the tarot cards seemingly told them so.)
Making firm predictions about the future.
For those of you wondering what does constitute an ethical, appropriate use of divination, here are some examples:
Using it as a means of self-reflection.
Using it to find alternative ideas and perspectives.
Deciding what you, personally will do in response to a situation.
Helping a client decide what they, personally will do in response to a situation.
And this, I think, sums about everything up. Divination can be enriching, fun, and useful, but it's important to exercise care and caution. We have to use critical thinking and also be mindful that we aren't turning into creeps or enabling creeps with it.
Happy witchin'!

When you’re a vampire slayer but the vampires you gotta slay are really hot and actually not entirely evil and want to help you. And they think you’re cute. 🥰
Not dead entirely, I’m still working on the Slayer N2 Squad thingy and my will to draw is coming back! I overthought this entire idea and so I’m trying to cut it down to just focus on these guys mostly.
I will give a little crumbs!
Jamil Viper is the current Slayer. He’s been trained from a child and his superiors think they’ve got him under his thumb…but Jamil is incredibly aware of what’s going on and how he’s basically being used for personal gain from the Watchers Council (in charge of guiding slayers) and the Al-Asim’s (the most powerful and influential mage family). Jamil simply accepts this fate as he feels powerless to stop it but when he finds a prophecy about himself he finds a spark of will. A spark that turns into a roaring flame by two pushy and sexy vampires.
