THEORY!!!......................

OK folks, I’ve had this theory bouncing around in my head for a bit now. I think now is as good a time as any, to throw it out there.

As we know, most music is now consumed through streaming services, and rarely physical copies, as CD’s and Vinyl. It’s also becoming easier, with technology, to produce ones own music, in let’s say their own HOME STUDIO. Literally, the only reason for an artist to sign to a fucking major label these days, is for marketing and distribution...especially if you are a singer/songwriter.

Now, let’s say you are capable of writing, singing, and even producing your own content. Or, maybe you have made enough money in your career to afford to hire a producer, mixer, and all the other stuff needed. No need for a Labels advances, studios, producers, mixers, studio musicians, because you can do all that stuff from your own home, or rent a studio near you, and hire people as needed.

Now, if you can take away the Labels marketing and distribution, there is zero need for a major label. So, who would you get to market and distribute your music? Cut out the middle man, and go straight to the streaming services themselves.

How? Create your own record company, sign yourself, and make either an exclusive deal with one of the streaming services, like Amazon, iTunes, YouTube, or Spotify.....Or make a deal with some, or all of them. The streaming service will market and promote you, for a percentage. Giving the streaming services a cut, instead of an oppressive Label wouldn’t make much of a dent in your bottom dollar. You could also hire a company to manufacture your hard copies. The difference is, instead of a Record Label owning you, and your music, you could be you and own your own products.

Another possibility is, she could ditch Epic, do her recording through Milamoon Records, and do a distribution/marketing deal with Sony....only if she wants a chance to regain ownership of her previous catalogue. If getting ownership of her old songs isn’t a concern of hers, she could record through her own record company, and do a marketing and distribution deal through whichever Label would make her the best deal.

Whichever, she would own her own shit. Her music, image, and intellectual property. So, these have been the ideas/theories ruminating in my brain for a bit now. I have no idea what’s going on behind the scenes right now, with Camila and her career, but it’s obvious something is.

My ideas could be completely off base, and flat out wrong, but it’s an idea. I know if it was me, I’d be trying to find a way to ditch the Dicks, the Labels, own my own shit, be my own damn self, and tell my damn manager to find a way to get my music out there in a way we can still make a living, but not have to lose my soul for a little fame, and financial gain.

My review of IQ Accommodation Bankside Airbnb room

Diabolical and Torturous

I found myself in an awkward gap in between properties so needed a place to stay for a few (approx five) weeks. I was working remotely so needed a decent work space. A hotel booking for that long would have sent me broke. Colour me happy when I found IQ!

The room itself was ok (with caveats - see below). Great location, broadband access and shower pressure.

Now for which I WASN’T prepared…

The CONSTANT….INCESSANT…RELENTLESS….NEVER-ABATING…AGGRESSIVE…LOUD! BANGING! from the surrounding studio’s doors. All the livelong day (and…more importantly…night).

I’m genuinely confounded. Surely these selfish little sociopaths (including some site staff) can hear how loud it is and wonder if EVERYONE ELSE can hear it? Surely they were taught how to coexist with fellow humans without blatantly and brutally intruding on the lives of others?

I could have asked to be moved to a different room but I could hear the doors slamming shut on the other floors.

I did complain about it and then took a massive grain of salt when they said they would ask the other “guests”/occupants to be more mindful when closing the doors. I found it rather amusing:

a) Their sheer naivety of asking people to be more considerate towards complete strangers

b) They thought I was deluded enough to think that point a would have any positive effect whatsoever

c) The “house manual” states “We ask that you keep noise to a minimum between 11 pm - 7 am. Please bear in mind that loud noise and disturbance outside of these hours is also a breach of your tenancy agreement” This was in no way upheld by the property managers. Is that then a breach of THEIR responsibility?

How a property, built specifically for ACCOMMODATION (it’s in the name) gets away with this is beyond belief.

Speaking of doors. Don’t open the one to the outside for fresh air, otherwise your room (and the basic, scratchy bed linen) will quickly be caked in dust from the neighbouring construction site. I’m not joking. Every breath intake was heavy with dust. You could literally feel it on your tongue. (and I don’t use the word “literally” lightly..or incorrectly) There is a Leyland not far, where you can purchase a plastic drop sheet to cover the bed though.

You’ll also be paying for the pleasure of having to dust the room multiple times of the day

With the door closed, the room quickly became stuffy and hot despite the thermostat being set to OFF.

Oh…but you WILL need to open that door to let out the daily odour of someone cooking what can only be described as burnt cabbage served on a coulis of urine.

Not just a distant odour. It’s standing there right in front of you, punching you in the nose.

Now, let’s get to the laundry facilities….

…The insufficiently equipped and bizarrely convoluted, Gestapo-like control of the laundry facilities. You have to request a card 24 hours in advance of using the facilities. It was actually more like 42 and 71 hours but who’s counting? Make sure that if life gets in the way (like finding a cake of dust all over the bed linens) ask the universe to give you 24…no, wait…42…no, wait…71 hours to prepare. I eventually was offered (after my suggestion) a card of my own to use….Finally! I was able to wash my clothes!……only to find that both (yep…only two for a building of over 100 rooms) available machines were being used BY THE SAME PERSON

No deliveries allowed….except for food. Amazon? No. Work-related equipment purchased by the employer? No. A leaving gift that my colleagues so kindly got for me? NO! There was NO mention of couriers in the “house manual” or under the house rules section of the Airbnb listing. People staying here for a few weeks and aren’t here for a holiday, just day-to-day life, including remote working should be allowed to have packages delivered. The students are allowed! How about the other people PAYING to stay here? Yes, Amazon have pick up points all over London, but not all items can be delivered to those. And most (reputable) non-Amazon companies don’t deliver to some anonymous collection point for high ticket items.

Side note: Seeing as this is primarily a student accommodation building (a mere footnote in the Airbnb description,) I was curious to see the price these rooms go for. The most basic one could cover the rent of a three bedroom house, still within the bounds of the M25. Man! These kids have wealthy parents! Ahhhh ok. Explains the door slamming and the selfish commandeering of the laundry facility.

I was so shocked at the price they (the uber-rich parents) pay, I almost coughed out a night’s worth of dust inhaled from the bed linen!

The moment I offloaded my work equipment, I cancelled the rest of my stay and booked a hotel room. This was a one-off situation for me (thank the deity of your choice)…If I hadn’t been weighed down with remote working office equipment and was in a better financial position, I would have left much earlier in my stay and found a hotel….or a tent in the middle of a busy roundabout…it would have been quieter.

“Do your research!” Ok. Lesson learned.

Not only would I NOT recommend this place to anyone. I would actively seek to stop people making the same mistake.

THIS PROPERTY SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO BE AN AIRBNB

Disgusted. Traumatised. I will never use Airbnb again.

The Room (these things would otherwise be passed off as quirks if the stay wasn’t so incredibly stressful):

Overly bright cold white lighting. On or off for the entire room. Think office space or hospital.

Cold white bedside light. Clearly these people haven’t heard of circadian rhythms. Built into the wall and meant to pop out. Give it 10 goes and you’ll get there. Bits of paint or plaster scraped over it.

White walls, white doors, white window blind, white bed linen. Again…think hospital.

No power points even in the vague vicinity of the bed.

The lightweight shower curtain billows in and takes up most of the shower space. Even weighing it down with shampoo bottles didn’t help.

Toilet roll holder was poorly fitted to the wall.

Red stain on the toilet seat

Also, why there’s a cabinet over the toilet rather than the sink is a little odd. Gravity will not be your friend here.

Scrape marks on the wall and microwave.

Cartoon Pitching

Just got back late from a bar hanging out with more animation industry peeps (AMAZING LOVELY PEOPLE BTW AHH). Before I head to bed, I wanna put these out really quick before I forget everything after waking up. 

Several pitching/pitch bible advices, tips and process I got to ask from people, including Matt (animatic editor on Owl House), my boss (showrunner of DreamWorksTV TOO LOUD) and Ruth (freelance prop designer on Thundercats Roar) who have experience in this:

Disney, Nick, Cartoon Network tend to prefer people who’re pitching the show good at drawing. While Netflix, Amazon want those who can write well.

Netflix tends to want you to have the entire 2 seasons story of your show figured out, with season 1 cliffhanger ending. As for traditional studios, just first couple of episodes would suffice.

Know what the studios are looking for or the opposite. (example: Disney sometimes will tell you ‘no princesses, no superheroes, etc and rather looking for ‘sitcomey’, ‘animated teen shows’, etc. It really depends over the course of time)

Have more than 1 ideas when pitching (at least 4 different shows idea) because most of the time if you pitch only 1 show idea, they will ask “ok what else do you have?”

Disney loves to look for both original & reboot shows.

If you’re pitching existing property, pitch it to the studio who own it/ have the creator’s permission. (example: showrunner of Thundercats Roar pitch the show to Warner Bros who owned Thundercats).

Most of the time, you’ll be given 30 minutes to pitch your show. Make sure everything is brief, so that people will ask you questions during that duration.

Make sure you come prepared and know everything of what you’re trying to pitch - the characters’ relationship, personality, etc.

Main character/protag of your show should be under 18. Make the characters likeable. This applies only when you’re pitching a kid show but it really depends.

Depending on some cases but most of the time, you NEED a booklet of the pitch bible in pitching your show. My friends tend to have them printed out (though they told me that’s optional). 

Pitch bible should include the main idea of the show, who are the characters, outline of the pilot, 10 episodes ideas. Include the BGs town/scene if that’s important to the story, but you actually don’t need to include a lot of landscape design.

If you have character model sheets or anything additional, include them in the pitch bible, it helps and shows that you really have your show figured out and into it.

In term of writing, make it short, simple with a clear concept of your show, as well as quick descriptions of the characters, world setting and premises for episodes.

Don’t include too much in the pitch bible, 50 pages is just too much.

You can have many drawings in pitch bible. You can have 1 page of fully colored character and the rest are just sketched. 

Storyboard is optional for pitch bible. You don’t have to include entire boards for the pilot. You can also present 1 scene from the pilot or 3 minute short of your show. It helps if you have animatic.

It helps a lot if you’re in LA so that you can pitch to the people in person. If that can’t happen, you can still email your pitch bible (make sure it’s fleshed out) or do live video chat with the people for pitching. You need to reach out or know the people from the studio/company in order to do that. If you’re someone who can’t pitch it in person but have done animation industry works, it’s a huge BONUS.

Be passionate and put a lot of energy into your pitch.

Prove to them that ONLY YOU can do this and make this show work.

It helps a LOT if you can claim the story you made as ‘personal’ (example: implementing the relationship between you and your sibling into the story. Alex Hirsch implemented his childhood experience and relationship with his twin sister during their summer vacations into his show - Gravity Falls).

Lastly, ask yourself:

Why telling this story?

Why does it have to be YOU in telling the story?

What make the show that make you want to keep watching it?

What make the characters fun and interesting?

I did this a while back by finding an expired domain in a Youtube video that reviewed a hair loss product.

I grabbed the domain for $10 and redirected it to my affiliate link and made a few hundred dollars.

This is the Android Software Development Kit License Agreement

1. Introduction

1.1 The Android Software Development Kit (referred to in the License Agreement as the 'SDK' and specifically including the Android system files, packaged APIs, and Google APIs add-ons) is licensed to you subject to the terms of the License Agreement. The License Agreement forms a legally binding contract between you and Google in relation to your use of the SDK.1.2 'Android' means the Android software stack for devices, as made available under the Android Open Source Project, which is located at the following URL: https://source.android.com/, as updated from time to time.1.3 A 'compatible implementation' means any Android device that (i) complies with the Android Compatibility Definition document, which can be found at the Android compatibility website (https://source.android.com/compatibility) and which may be updated from time to time; and (ii) successfully passes the Android Compatibility Test Suite (CTS).1.4 'Google' means Google LLC, organized under the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, and operating under the laws of the USA with principal place of business at 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA.

2. Accepting this License Agreement

2.1 In order to use the SDK, you must first agree to the License Agreement. You may not use the SDK if you do not accept the License Agreement.2.2 By clicking to accept and/or using this SDK, you hereby agree to the terms of the License Agreement.2.3 You may not use the SDK and may not accept the License Agreement if you are a person barred from receiving the SDK under the laws of the United States or other countries, including the country in which you are resident or from which you use the SDK.2.4 If you are agreeing to be bound by the License Agreement on behalf of your employer or other entity, you represent and warrant that you have full legal authority to bind your employer or such entity to the License Agreement. 3. SDK License from Google

3.1 Subject to the terms of the License Agreement, Google grants you a limited, worldwide, royalty-free, non-assignable, non-exclusive, and non-sublicensable license to use the SDK solely to develop applications for compatible implementations of Android.3.2 You may not use this SDK to develop applications for other platforms (including non-compatible implementations of Android) or to develop another SDK. You are of course free to develop applications for other platforms, including non-compatible implementations of Android, provided that this SDK is not used for that purpose.3.3 You agree that Google or third parties own all legal right, title and interest in and to the SDK, including any Intellectual Property Rights that subsist in the SDK. 'Intellectual Property Rights' means any and all rights under patent law, copyright law, trade secret law, trademark law, and any and all other proprietary rights. Google reserves all rights not expressly granted to you.3.4 You may not use the SDK for any purpose not expressly permitted by the License Agreement. Except to the extent required by applicable third party licenses, you may not copy (except for backup purposes), modify, adapt, redistribute, decompile, reverse engineer, disassemble, or create derivative works of the SDK or any part of the SDK.3.5 Use, reproduction and distribution of components of the SDK licensed under an open source software license are governed solely by the terms of that open source software license and not the License Agreement.3.6 You agree that the form and nature of the SDK that Google provides may change without prior notice to you and that future versions of the SDK may be incompatible with applications developed on previous versions of the SDK. You agree that Google may stop (permanently or temporarily) providing the SDK (or any features within the SDK) to you or to users generally at Google's sole discretion, without prior notice to you.3.7 Nothing in the License Agreement gives you a right to use any of Google's trade names, trademarks, service marks, logos, domain names, or other distinctive brand features.3.8 You agree that you will not remove, obscure, or alter any proprietary rights notices (including copyright and trademark notices) that may be affixed to or contained within the SDK.

4. Use of the SDK by You

4.1 Google agrees that it obtains no right, title or interest from you (or your licensors) under the License Agreement in or to any software applications that you develop using the SDK, including any intellectual property rights that subsist in those applications.4.2 You agree to use the SDK and write applications only for purposes that are permitted by (a) the License Agreement and (b) any applicable law, regulation or generally accepted practices or guidelines in the relevant jurisdictions (including any laws regarding the export of data or software to and from the United States or other relevant countries).4.3 You agree that if you use the SDK to develop applications for general public users, you will protect the privacy and legal rights of those users. If the users provide you with user names, passwords, or other login information or personal information, you must make the users aware that the information will be available to your application, and you must provide legally adequate privacy notice and protection for those users. If your application stores personal or sensitive information provided by users, it must do so securely. If the user provides your application with Google Account information, your application may only use that information to access the user's Google Account when, and for the limited purposes for which, the user has given you permission to do so.4.4 You agree that you will not engage in any activity with the SDK, including the development or distribution of an application, that interferes with, disrupts, damages, or accesses in an unauthorized manner the servers, networks, or other properties or services of any third party including, but not limited to, Google or any mobile communications carrier.4.5 You agree that you are solely responsible for (and that Google has no responsibility to you or to any third party for) any data, content, or resources that you create, transmit or display through Android and/or applications for Android, and for the consequences of your actions (including any loss or damage which Google may suffer) by doing so.4.6 You agree that you are solely responsible for (and that Google has no responsibility to you or to any third party for) any breach of your obligations under the License Agreement, any applicable third party contract or Terms of Service, or any applicable law or regulation, and for the consequences (including any loss or damage which Google or any third party may suffer) of any such breach.

5. Your Developer Credentials

5.1 You agree that you are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of any developer credentials that may be issued to you by Google or which you may choose yourself and that you will be solely responsible for all applications that are developed under your developer credentials.

6. Privacy and Information

6.1 In order to continually innovate and improve the SDK, Google may collect certain usage statistics from the software including but not limited to a unique identifier, associated IP address, version number of the software, and information on which tools and/or services in the SDK are being used and how they are being used. Before any of this information is collected, the SDK will notify you and seek your consent. If you withhold consent, the information will not be collected.6.2 The data collected is examined in the aggregate to improve the SDK and is maintained in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy.6.3 Anonymized and aggregated sets of the data may be shared with Google partners to improve the SDK.

7. Third Party Applications

7.1 If you use the SDK to run applications developed by a third party or that access data, content or resources provided by a third party, you agree that Google is not responsible for those applications, data, content, or resources. You understand that all data, content or resources which you may access through such third party applications are the sole responsibility of the person from which they originated and that Google is not liable for any loss or damage that you may experience as a result of the use or access of any of those third party applications, data, content, or resources.7.2 You should be aware the data, content, and resources presented to you through such a third party application may be protected by intellectual property rights which are owned by the providers (or by other persons or companies on their behalf). You may not modify, rent, lease, loan, sell, distribute or create derivative works based on these data, content, or resources (either in whole or in part) unless you have been specifically given permission to do so by the relevant owners.7.3 You acknowledge that your use of such third party applications, data, content, or resources may be subject to separate terms between you and the relevant third party. In that case, the License Agreement does not affect your legal relationship with these third parties.

8. Using Android APIs

8.1 Google Data APIs8.1.1 If you use any API to retrieve data from Google, you acknowledge that the data may be protected by intellectual property rights which are owned by Google or those parties that provide the data (or by other persons or companies on their behalf). Your use of any such API may be subject to additional Terms of Service. You may not modify, rent, lease, loan, sell, distribute or create derivative works based on this data (either in whole or in part) unless allowed by the relevant Terms of Service.8.1.2 If you use any API to retrieve a user's data from Google, you acknowledge and agree that you shall retrieve data only with the user's explicit consent and only when, and for the limited purposes for which, the user has given you permission to do so. If you use the Android Recognition Service API, documented at the following URL: https://developer.android.com/reference/android/speech/RecognitionService, as updated from time to time, you acknowledge that the use of the API is subject to the Data Processing Addendum for Products where Google is a Data Processor, which is located at the following URL: https://privacy.google.com/businesses/gdprprocessorterms/, as updated from time to time. By clicking to accept, you hereby agree to the terms of the Data Processing Addendum for Products where Google is a Data Processor.

9. Terminating this License Agreement

9.1 The License Agreement will continue to apply until terminated by either you or Google as set out below.9.2 If you want to terminate the License Agreement, you may do so by ceasing your use of the SDK and any relevant developer credentials.9.3 Google may at any time, terminate the License Agreement with you if:(A) you have breached any provision of the License Agreement; or(B) Google is required to do so by law; or(C) the partner with whom Google offered certain parts of SDK (such as APIs) to you has terminated its relationship with Google or ceased to offer certain parts of the SDK to you; or(D) Google decides to no longer provide the SDK or certain parts of the SDK to users in the country in which you are resident or from which you use the service, or the provision of the SDK or certain SDK services to you by Google is, in Google's sole discretion, no longer commercially viable.9.4 When the License Agreement comes to an end, all of the legal rights, obligations and liabilities that you and Google have benefited from, been subject to (or which have accrued over time whilst the License Agreement has been in force) or which are expressed to continue indefinitely, shall be unaffected by this cessation, and the provisions of paragraph 14.7 shall continue to apply to such rights, obligations and liabilities indefinitely.

10. DISCLAIMER OF WARRANTIES

10.1 YOU EXPRESSLY UNDERSTAND AND AGREE THAT YOUR USE OF THE SDK IS AT YOUR SOLE RISK AND THAT THE SDK IS PROVIDED 'AS IS' AND 'AS AVAILABLE' WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND FROM GOOGLE.10.2 YOUR USE OF THE SDK AND ANY MATERIAL DOWNLOADED OR OTHERWISE OBTAINED THROUGH THE USE OF THE SDK IS AT YOUR OWN DISCRETION AND RISK AND YOU ARE SOLELY RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGE TO YOUR COMPUTER SYSTEM OR OTHER DEVICE OR LOSS OF DATA THAT RESULTS FROM SUCH USE.10.3 GOOGLE FURTHER EXPRESSLY DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES AND CONDITIONS OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES AND CONDITIONS OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

11. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

11.1 YOU EXPRESSLY UNDERSTAND AND AGREE THAT GOOGLE, ITS SUBSIDIARIES AND AFFILIATES, AND ITS LICENSORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE TO YOU UNDER ANY THEORY OF LIABILITY FOR ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES THAT MAY BE INCURRED BY YOU, INCLUDING ANY LOSS OF DATA, WHETHER OR NOT GOOGLE OR ITS REPRESENTATIVES HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF OR SHOULD HAVE BEEN AWARE OF THE POSSIBILITY OF ANY SUCH LOSSES ARISING.

12. Indemnification

12.1 To the maximum extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify and hold harmless Google, its affiliates and their respective directors, officers, employees and agents from and against any and all claims, actions, suits or proceedings, as well as any and all losses, liabilities, damages, costs and expenses (including reasonable attorneys fees) arising out of or accruing from (a) your use of the SDK, (b) any application you develop on the SDK that infringes any copyright, trademark, trade secret, trade dress, patent or other intellectual property right of any person or defames any person or violates their rights of publicity or privacy, and (c) any non-compliance by you with the License Agreement.

13. Changes to the License Agreement

13.1 Google may make changes to the License Agreement as it distributes new versions of the SDK. When these changes are made, Google will make a new version of the License Agreement available on the website where the SDK is made available.

14. General Legal Terms

14.1 The License Agreement constitutes the whole legal agreement between you and Google and governs your use of the SDK (excluding any services which Google may provide to you under a separate written agreement), and completely replaces any prior agreements between you and Google in relation to the SDK.14.2 You agree that if Google does not exercise or enforce any legal right or remedy which is contained in the License Agreement (or which Google has the benefit of under any applicable law), this will not be taken to be a formal waiver of Google's rights and that those rights or remedies will still be available to Google.14.3 If any court of law, having the jurisdiction to decide on this matter, rules that any provision of the License Agreement is invalid, then that provision will be removed from the License Agreement without affecting the rest of the License Agreement. The remaining provisions of the License Agreement will continue to be valid and enforceable.14.4 You acknowledge and agree that each member of the group of companies of which Google is the parent shall be third party beneficiaries to the License Agreement and that such other companies shall be entitled to directly enforce, and rely upon, any provision of the License Agreement that confers a benefit on (or rights in favor of) them. Other than this, no other person or company shall be third party beneficiaries to the License Agreement.14.5 EXPORT RESTRICTIONS. THE SDK IS SUBJECT TO UNITED STATES EXPORT LAWS AND REGULATIONS. YOU MUST COMPLY WITH ALL DOMESTIC AND INTERNATIONAL EXPORT LAWS AND REGULATIONS THAT APPLY TO THE SDK. THESE LAWS INCLUDE RESTRICTIONS ON DESTINATIONS, END USERS AND END USE.14.6 The rights granted in the License Agreement may not be assigned or transferred by either you or Google without the prior written approval of the other party. Neither you nor Google shall be permitted to delegate their responsibilities or obligations under the License Agreement without the prior written approval of the other party.14.7 The License Agreement, and your relationship with Google under the License Agreement, shall be governed by the laws of the State of California without regard to its conflict of laws provisions. You and Google agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located within the county of Santa Clara, California to resolve any legal matter arising from the License Agreement. I know this is gonna sound bad and people might come for me but idgaf. I FUCKING HATE Witchtok/Instawitches, and often times witchblr is just as fucking bad. There is absolutely nothing wrong with deciding to become a witch and establishing your personal practice, but too much of the appeal has been for AESTHETICS and not for EDUCATION; and it fucking shows with all the "baby witches" now in the community. I say baby because clearly they aren't using rational logical thinking processes; would you smoke a random plant leaf someone handed you without wanting to know what it is? THEN DO NOT JUST IMITATE WHAT YOU SAW.

DO YOUR MOTHER FUCKING RESEARCH! JUST BECAUSE ITS COOL/PRETTY DOESN'T MEAN IT IS SAFE!

Every single plant/herb/flower has interactions with the body whether human or animal. And I'm not going to play the "personal pet vs familiar" debate; but if you are going to be burning ANYTHING with ANY animals or other people around YOU NEED TO CONSIDER THE IMPACT ON THEIR SYSTEM AS WELL.

I've seen Witchtoks my friends have sent me going "I'm gonna do this money/love/peace one after work when I get home" and I'll watch it and someone will be doing something stupid AF like handling poisonous/toxic plants without protection or handling even COMMON spices like burning a cinnamon stick around their "familiar" not realizing that the burning stick of cinnamon could literally kill their animals because it's smoke is a severe respiratory irritant. And I'll say something like "oh make sure you do that on your balcony so your cat/dog/hamster doesn't have respiratory distress or get sick when you do it" and they get so surprised like "but this person did it with their pet around" yeah and that person may have been very lucky and their animal may have been fine but you live in a studio/1bed and your cat will likely not be ok. Also even if that influencer did end up with a sick pet I doubt that's gonna wind up on their TikTok when they find out they're the reason they had to take them to the vet anyway.

Magic still requires research and understanding it isn't just a "oh I saw someone else do it so I'm going to do it too", you have to fucking learn how to do this and do it correctly like anything else you've gotten good at. Research what ingredients you see in the spell/potion. Not only to see what the metaphysical properties are but to see if there are any concerns towards how it is used. Some things you can consume as food but cannot smoke, some things are ok in small amounts but can cause harm with only a little more than you used, and some things require more practice and thought in their preparation/gathering/use.

Also some people may not have access to the same ingredients that they have in the tiktok/insta post/Tumblr post. So having done your research to know what the uses of the ingredients are comes in handy. Say (hypothetically) you're interested in the video and want to recreate it (pls fucking don't) and let's just say "you" live in an area where you're not likely to find Poisoned Hemlock. So what is in the environment there that can replace it? Because it's highly doubtful that Amazon or your local plant shop will have it. If you've done your research you can find what you need that is more local/easier to get a hold of than hoping someone will ship you some poisoned Hemlock leaves.

This is the blog post I never, ever, expected to have to write.

My friend, Stewart Wieck, co-founder of White Wolf Magazine and White Wolf Game Studio, creator of Mage: The Ascension, and founder of Nocturnal Media, was finishing a light session of fencing last Thursday when he was struck down by a heart attack and died.

Even writing the above, putting it into cold black and white words, just rips me apart.

And frankly, that list up there of his accomplishments doesn’t even touch on the reality of the man, of his grace and kindness. It doesn’t speak of passion for writing, and creating, and learning. Of his dry wit and his silly side.

Most of all, it doesn’t speak of the sort of man who can decide that he was going to create in a field he loved, tabletop RPGs (back when we just called them RPGs, as there were no others), and made it happen step by step while inspiring others to come to his side and storm the walls of heaven.

Or the TSR castle at Gen Con, for those of you who remember that!

    This looks suspiciously like Stew in a Gen Con ballroom.

  I was one of those people, and in 1986, I sent in art in response to an ad Stew posted in Dragon Magazine looking for illustrators for his upstart White Wolf Magazine. We shared a love of comic books, genre fiction, and RPGs, but were really little alike. Except we both kept our commitments. I delivered the art, issue by issue as the circulation increased, and once Stew saw that I was going to do that with the same quality and regularity as he put forth in getting the writing in and the magazine out, he handed over the art direction duties to me as well.

We had a bad spot when a marketing guy Stew had begun working with to propel the magazine into what was supposed to be a huge increase in circulation ran out with all the ad payments. I thought the magazine was over. But Stew went back to every advertiser and somehow convinced them to pay again so that the issue could be printed. I couldn’t have done it, but that was Stewart Wieck – he could explain what needed to happen, and he was so sincere and so obviously a good guy, that people would jump in to help.

Without the magazine, Stew wouldn’t have been working closely with Lion Rampant when they were looking for a CEO to keep them rolling. I remember him calling and asking whether I thought he should accept their offer. I thought it was a no-brainer as he had “just graduated college, and a game company wants you to be their CEO? If you keep them afloat, you’re a hero – if you can’t, then nobody could have”.

Stew went one step better, though, and became a partner with Mark Rein*Hagen instead of just the CEO. Oh, and part of the deal was to change the company name to White Wolf Game Studio. Also, Mark had this interesting idea for an RPG: something to do with playing a vampire…

  Now, I say that kind of lightly, but the reality is that without Stewart adding both his creative talents (vampires being descended from Cain is just one of his contributions) and his head for business, it is entirely possible that Vampire: The Masquerade would never have been published. And beyond that, his wit and grace and patience provided a center to the WW creative team – a calm in the center of a storm of egos, passions, and crazed creative impulses that could have torn the young company apart.

For years, Stew had the idea that I needed to come down to Atlanta and art direct the company, and for years I let him know that I would need a real salary that we both knew just wasn’t possible. I had a little girl I was raising by myself, and was working a full-time job, and teaching, and doing freelance work, of which WW was my biggest client.

In December of 1991, he called me up, and the first thing out of his mouth was, “Rich, we can do it. Vampire is huge, we are reprinting it as fast as it is selling out, and next year it’s time to bring you down here.”

Which was great, except, like I said, I was raising my little girl by myself, I had a house and dogs, and all of my support systems were where we were. As well as a girlfriend that I had been dating for only a month. To put it bluntly, I was scared shitless. But I trusted Stewart Wieck. He had never let me down. He told me it would be OK.

We were in ATL and I was in charge of all WW visuals and production in May of ’92.

  White Wolf grew, exploded really, and Stew was not just riding herd on all of the expanding crew, he was creating the third game in the World of Darkness, Mage: The Ascension. A game where you change the world by exerting your will and beliefs upon it. Go figure that’s what this guy would come up with.

With three wildly successful games powering the company, and his equally creative and business-savvy brother Steve brought on as CEO, Stewart decided to pursue his dream of WW also being a fiction publishing house. New fiction work for our RPG lines, and also new experimental offerings that might not have been published by the mainstream houses. And my favorite part, republishing the giants that he and I had read so avidly in our early years. Fritz Liebers’s Fafhrd and the Grey Mouser stories, the legendary Harlan Ellison, and the ultimate delight of working with Michael Moorcock and republishing his Eternal Champion novels, including the legendary Elric. Also known as the White Wolf. We had come full circle.

Always, it was Stew who made the deals possible. Stew who juggled what could be done with what needed to be done, and who any of us could go to for a calming talk when things got too crazy. I certainly did!

    But nothing lasts forever. Working with writers took up time for writing. And if anybody deserved a chance to recover their personal Muse, it was Stew. He was still connected to WW and working on projects, still always, always, available to talk over phone or email (we would have loved Skype then), but he stepped back from the day to day struggles.

Until, several years ago, he was back! Back with Nocturnal Media, a new company he founded. We immediately went in together on buying the Scarred Lands property from CCP as we had both helped create it back in the day and wanted to team-up again like we had done so many times. And the Stew who could pull publishing deals together returned as well, as both older creators and younger became part of Nocturnal‘s creative circle.

This year at Gen Con, he and I were looking forward to sharing our booth space, our respective companies shoulder to shoulder, he and I shoulder to shoulder once again.

But it was not to be.

Over the years, Stew and I exchanged so many messages. Emails and letters and packages. But most importantly, for years and years he’d send me a message on the anniversary of my first wife’s death, just to let me know he remembered. He always signed them, “Your friend, Stewart Wieck”.

Once you hit go, the software goes out and scours YouTube for videos related to your keyword that has available domains.

If you hit gold, you can go and purchase that domain and redirect it to your link or even build out a new site.

I did this a while back by finding an expired domain in a Youtube video that reviewed a hair loss product.

I grabbed the domain for $10 and redirected it to my affiliate link and made a few hundred dollars.

Once you log into the dashboard you need to 

Next, you can search for broken and available domains.

To do this you go into the keyword research section and look for domains related to the keywords of your choice.

Once you hit go, the software goes out and scours YouTube for videos related to your keyword that has available domains.

If you hit gold, you can go and purchase that domain and redirect it to your link or even build out a new site.

I did this a while back by finding an expired domain in a Youtube video that reviewed a hair loss product.

I grabbed the domain for $10 and redirected it to my affiliate link and made a few hundred dollars.

Paul Venables is one of the few video marketing people I know like and trust.

We have worked together on several projects before and he knows his stuff.

There aren’t many of them but he is one.

I really liked his last software, video traffic genie and when I heard about his latest one, I was keen to know more.

My Traffic Jacker may not be the best name for a software, but what it can do is very powerful.

And before you ask, it is web-based meaning it can work on a MAC or PC,

What does My traffic Jacker do?

Once you log into the dashboard you need to 

Next, you can search for broken and available domains.

To do this you go into the keyword research section and look for domains related to the keywords of your choice.

Once you hit go, the software goes out and scours YouTube for videos related to your keyword that has available domains.

If you hit gold, you can go and purchase that domain and redirect it to your link or even build out a new site.

I did this a while back by finding an expired domain in a Youtube video that reviewed a hair loss product.

I grabbed the domain for $10 and redirected it to my affiliate link and made a few hundred dollars.

Pros:

+ Nothing to download nor install. Works on all computers

+ Super easy to use. Nice interface. Intuitive

+ Allows you to find domains on YouTube & wikipedia

+ Anyone can make money with it with a bit of effort

Cons:

Can take a little work to uncover the gold. 

You still need to take the domain you find and either redirect it to an offer or build it out.
