I dont think ive gotta put much more money into it fortunately. A radiator from the parts store is a hundred bucks. One of my coworkers said he’ll bring me an exhaust clamp from home. Running power to the gauges isnt gonna cost anything. Then ill be able to worry about other stuff

John Dory Headcannons!
Tumblr media
★ Glove is a compression glove for an old injury; a major burn scar that lines his fingers, palm, and paw pads on his left hand. (Inspired by @teaOwOstache’s comic – I am currently writing a one-shot for them based on their amazing comic.)
★ Has about an inch of white hair from the sheer power of Crimp’s vacuum. I, personally, believe that the vacuum’s power accelerated the talent-leaching tremendously and caused physical effects to show sooner. (Also shown on Bruce and Clay)
★ Various scars from his years of camping, foraging, cooking, hunting, and other things related to the nomad life.
★ He is the third tallest of his brothers, being almost the same height as Bruce. Second shortest of Brozone.
★ He was left-handed before the burn incident – and had to reteach himself how to write with his right hand instead since his left hand shakes too badly to write properly now. His handwriting, while improved, still isn't as good as it used to be.
★ Has nightmares occasionally like Branch. I like to imagine they bond slightly over that fact once they do get closer – obviously, it's still nothing like Branch’s and Floyd's relationship.
★ Building off the last point, JD tries not to feel too bitter about the close relationship they have. He realizes that the fractured relationships he has with all of his brothers are his own doing. He’s doing his best to get to know them all now and learn about their interests and hobbies. JD still walks on eggshells around them all about 60% of the time after a few more major blow ups between them. He is John Dory, however, so he still crosses lines many times by accident.
★ Thickest and fluffiest tail of Brozone (more of a general HC but, tail hair/fur can move like Troll head hair/fur.)
★ Very active, and regularly takes walks, runs, etc around Pop Village to keep up his fitness.
★ Found Rhonda when he was in his early 20’s and she was a much smaller bug bus. (Inspired by @ohposhers) She grew rather quickly after that and they became inseparable. John Dory handles all of her repairs and anything to do with her healthcare. He becomes very anxious when he has to pass that responsibility to anyone else. Branch took care of an ailing Rhonda once because he was the only one in the village with the needed materials and ingredients for the medicine. (“Who's crazy now? Me. Crazy prepared,) The dull-toned troll basically had to beat John off with a stick to get him to listen/let him help the poor bus, basically like a Helicopter parent. I genuinely believe without her, John Dory would absolutely crumble. Troll dust.
Tumblr media
★ Stay’s in Branch’s bunker the most of the four others, besides Floyd who decided to move to Pop Village. When he’s feeling especially bad or wants to be alone, he will still retreat into Rhonda. She is basically an oversized security blanket.
★ Smells like either dust, fresh dirt, or rain. Definitely smells like something naturey. Branch smells like things similar, but it’s noticeably different.
★ Usually ALWAYS has something stuck in his hair or tail, no matter how small. Dust bunnies from exploring or helping clean, leaves, branches (ha), and other miscellaneous things.
★ Usually has the following in his hair pocket dimension; 2-3 bandaids, an extra glove, chapstick that he always loses, granola bars, and a small thing of water; just in case. Oh, and treats for Rhonda.
Tumblr media
★ Carries an old family photo of his brothers and Grandma Rosiepuff from right after Branch hatched. His parents were also in it, but have long been torn out.
★ His goggles, past and present, were from his father (Also inspired by @teaOwOstache) and so he takes begrudgingly good and meticulous care of them.
★ Definitely a victim of parentification/older sibling syndrome. (I’m not projecting, you are.)
★ The order of brothers he bonds or reconnects with the easiest to hardest; Floyd, Bruce, Clay, Branch.
★ Suffers from aches and pains when it's cold or rainy out. He refuses to admit it is because of age.
★ Self soothes by pulling at his jacket, running his fingers along the zipper teeth, or adjusting his goggles when anxious.
★ If he doesn’t want to make eye contact or is crying or about to, he’ll pull his goggles on. It’s easier to hide than to explain. He gets better about talking about it but emotions are always a sore subject and difficult for him.
★ Like most Trolls, John Dory can hiss, growl, and purr.
★ Dark blue paw pads, with blunt nails with chipped polish.
★ When he went back to the troll tree pod, after mourning what could have been, he collected mementos of his brothers and his grandma; Branch’s old baby blanket, Floyd’s old plushie, Bruce’s old hoodie, One of Clay’s old books and a blacket Rosiepuff knitted long ago. They’re hidden in a box on Rhonda.

"Let’s go off on a quick tangent. Bear with me here. So, you know who the mantises are, right? What you probably don’t know is that they own a few solar systems in a cluster of neighboring stars. They call their main system Hive Home. They’re not the first residents of that place. Once, long ago, the Hive Home system was used to manufacture something really interesting.
When the mantises discovered the antique, abandoned production facilities just sitting there, they did what any responsible people would do when they come across alien technology they don’t understand.
They turned it on to see what would happen. Yadda, yadda, yadda, something called a macro AI system was formed. An infant, rudimentary version of the alien technology that keeps the inner system humming. These AI systems, once properly installed, are able to seemingly alter the physics and reality of the worlds around them.
The thing is, macro AIs can’t exist in a vacuum. It’s kinda like planting a tree. You can plug one into the ground and hope for the best, but that usually ends in disaster. So instead, they plant them in the interstellar equivalent of a nursery, putting each one into a pot and cultivating it for a little bit before implanting it into its permanent home.
...
The mantises have been studying the AI technology since they first discovered it. Very recently, like literally three or four days before this season started, they made a breakthrough. This, by the way, is top secret information, so breaking news to all the normies out there. If we’re still using the tree analogy, what they did was create the equivalent of a GMO AI, utilizing something called an error replacement net. I personally call it “the lobotomizer.”
Those creepy bugs are now one step closer to replicating the Eulogist, even though they don’t know what that really is. They think the engine that runs the center system is nothing more than a stable, primal AI engine. And while this new generation of Macro AIs are still ostensibly independent, they’re considered much more “stable.” Something that won’t “go crazy” or “kill everybody on the planet because it’s having a temper tantrum.”
In the making of this new, fancy, chitinlicking AI, they had a lot of, uh, early and test versions. Some of these even got a quick trial run at the old testing facility, which, of all things, got turned into an amusement park.
I’m rambling. More stuff happened, and now we’re here. The bottom line is you don’t pull a Loretta Young and Clark Gable and kick your kid out into the cold just because they’re ugly."

Bed Rest (Seven) for the WIP ask game, please. Also, if you want to talk about the other Bed Rest fics, too.
Seven's installment literally consist of only this handful of sentences so far:
“I understand that your xB physiology renders you much more resilient than humans, and I’m willing to give you a lot of leeway, but I draw the line at exposure to hard vacuum. You’re coming to sickbay with me right now.” Seven arched her eyebrow and drew a rasping breath. “Deactivate —” “No,” Emil said calmly. “You’re on medical lockout from all computer systems and will remain so until I give you a clean bill of health. Now, will you come downstairs voluntarily? Or will I have to ask Ms Musiker to drag you?”
I do like it quite a bit :D But haven't managed to do all the writing that needs to go around it yet.
As for the other Bed Rest fics... When I started writing them, it was just Soji, then I had an idea for Raffi, then Ian, Rios... and eventually, it settled in my brain as "one day, this series will have a story of Emil telling people to lie the fuck down already for every major and a whole lot of minor characters from Star Trek: La Sirena" 😅
We'll see how far I get. The one I wrote for Picard doesn't actually fit the description as well as I'd like it to, and I should probably just post it as a short slice of life standalone (it's basically done and I find it pretty funny, if I say so myself).
And the Agnes WIP that is still technically labelled "bed rest" also veered into a different direction (much more emotional angst and post-Borg-trauma, less the sickfic vibe I'm going for with the rest of the series). So I might turn that into a standalone at some point, though it would involve having to acknowledge season 2 happenings, even in a strongly altered form...
BUT! A while ago, @regionalpancake pointed out that probably a bunch of OC stories in my "never to be pulished" folder would only need very minor rewrites to work for Agnes (and for readers who haven't spent the last four years in my brain and thus don't know the reams and reams of intricate worldbuilding that underly the Private Stories). And I think that assessment is very accurate for the fic currently titled "Check up", which also has some holo bits in it that I just... adore so much! And want to share with the world! Like...
Emil nodded. “Your fever has gone up in the last few hours.” Her eyes went wide. “I thought the meds would help with that?” The EMH tilted his head and his expression turned slightly admonishing. “They are helping. They’re supporting your body’s immune system in fighting off the virus. Which inevitably involves a certain level of fever.” He lowered his scanner and frowned. “Honestly, you’re nearly as bad as the captain with his impatience. Healing takes time. The human body isn’t a machine where you can replace a broken part and everything just runs smoothly again straight away.” “Well now.” Over at the table, Ian leaned back in his chair and tucked his hands under his arms. “A repair is rarely done with a simple replacement. There’s always adjustments that need to happen afterwards and usually a lot of recalibration to —” “Yes, thank you Ian,” Emil said curtly without turning around, “I was speaking metaphorically.” “I’m just saying that if you want the repair done properly, you can’t just shove a new part in place and call it a day. There are a lot of protocols and follow-ups that need to happen.” “Actually, that makes the metaphor better, don’t you think?” Enoch mused. “Even with a machine, repairs take time and don’t lead to instantaneous improvement.” Ian leaned towards the ENH. “Yes, but he said the human body wasn’t like a machine, so he got the metaphor exactly backwards.” Emil rolled his eyes as the two holograms at the table started to argue over whether an accidentally good metaphor was still good if it was deployed incorrectly. Behind them, Emmet was leisurely swapping cards from his hand for better ones from the discard pile.
So that one is probably gonna be Agnes's installment (eventually).
Beyond that, who knows? There are still a few crew members (organic, cybernetic, and holographic) that need to have a moment with their snarky ship's physician! And one of these days, I will finally get over myself and edit the two paragraphs that have thus far kept me from posting Rios's part of the series 😅
I really enjoy the bed rest stories, though. I will never get enough of Emil being an exasperated, snarky, but ultimately really kind and competent doctor! And since there aren't as many stories of that out there in the wild as I'd like, I guess I'll just have to keep writing them myself XD
---
(I'm still very happy to answer questions or post snippets of the many things in my WIP folder :D Here's the original list of titles if you want to see what's available!

Pep / KDB
NSFW-ish but nothing to warn for, just the world fuck really. NSFW in a church. Infidelity. Is Pep/KDB it’s own warning? Am I a warning?
Gretna Green
Not set last year? Set a couple of years ago. I literally haven’t even read this through. Spelling is an evil, but is it a necessary one?
It’s another Thursday. Even If they had set alarms they would have slept through them. Their phones on the coffee table, the screens flicking on and off. It’s nearly stopped raining. Spring is almost over, summer hasn’t quite started.
He’d like to blame drinking he’d like to pretend it was in the aftermath of a victory, that he was overcome.
On the chair next to Kevin’s bed, this temporary place, they have layered trousers and socks and underwear. Pep’s hands are efficient, and Kevin’s are practised at stripping clothes off in the dark. The sleeve of Kevin’s sweater is lying across the waistband of Pep’s jeans. Last night they twisted together. Pep hasn’t slept-in for years.
He wakes up first. The insistent nag of water has finally become impossible to incorporate into his dream. The window is cracked open and Pep watches the drops that hit the window ledge. He watches the carpet under the window slowly get darker with water. Someone else will clean it up eventually. The paint chipped at the corner. Careless streaks from a half assed cleaning service.
Kevin’s behind him and he shifts slightly, aligns their bodies more completely, even his elbow feels hot against Pep’s ribcage.
Pep holds his breath; he’s not ready for it to be over. For last night to melt away, evaporate off his skin like rainwater on concrete. Wants it to be cars he can hear passing by.
Soon Kevin is going to grab for his watch or look up and squint at the window. He’s going to realise that they could have nearly slept in. It’s not that either of them has anywhere to be, so much as there is somewhere they should not be. Here, together, it’s not Pep’s bed. He is the one who should have slunk away last night.
Kevin is going to wake up, is going to recognise the body under his arm.
“This is not a punishment.” Pep had said. Kevin on top of him, half wild, with glittering eyes and guilt. Under-prepared and stubborn.
Two weeks ago they accidentally ran away to Scotland. There isn’t any reason they couldn’t. Kevin’s latest meeting with the lawyer. The therapist. The family counsellor. The dangled chance of reconciliation.
Six hours of traffic barely speaking. Falling into a bed booked online.
Sleeping apart in the small bed. Small high windows with curtains they hadn’t closed properly. Small desk, small tv. Kevin rolling over away from the telephone. Half assed job vacuuming. Small towels in the bathroom. Kevin barely fitting under the shower head. Too awake. The line of his back too rigid, flotsam adrift. They didn’t fuck that night. They didn’t that morning. Barely touched. The points of their elbows, the bend of their knees. Pinned to the edges of the bed, a valley of sheets between them.
Pep had run his hand down the hard line of Kevin’s back. “Come have breakfast.” He said. They walked to the tourist part of town. Under baseball caps and blue surgical masks. Toothbrushes from Spar left in the bin. They won’t stay another night.
From 7.14 when Pep sent a text to his wife, Kevin buried in the steam of the shower, until Midnight, Kevin slipping out of the car without saying goodbye, they were tourists and lovers.
Eating breakfast with fresh juice and eggs. They walked slowly and Pep was not his boss. Kevin was not his player. The short holiday that Kevin would take with his family undiscussed. Pep’s family phantoms. Their jobs a ghost. They would probably reconcile. You can feel like a single parent married to a football player or a football manager. But maybe better to have him there than to admit something was wrong.
Pep’s phone twisted in his pocket. They both politely looked away from calls that could not go unanswered. Consumed with the quality of the scarves that fell out in piles of every open shop door, not the hushed conversations.
They didn’t stand out in the crowd’s meandering up the Royal mile. They kissed twice, they touched more. Hand draped over arm, fingers on a shoulder pointing something out. Backs turned for the whisper of privacy.
But now, two weeks later, Pep wants to roll over and kiss Kevin awake. He wants to know he could slip back into the bed, pressing his hands - warm from holding two cups of tea - against Kevin’s ribs while Kevin groped across the bedside table for his own drink.
Wants to kiss without brushing their teeth. Without tasting alcohol or even a victory. Pep wants to turn over and nudge his knee between Kevin’s. Wants to rock Kevin awake like he fucked him asleep.
Pep wants to say: that’s just traffic, that’s just the tv. Your wife is waiting for you to call her and will believe your lie this time. Let’s kiss. The battery on your phone is dead, there is no where to be and nothing to do except for you to tell me what you dreamed of.
Instead he shrugs out from under Kevin’s arm over his waist and feels the morning-rainy air strip away the touch of Kevin’s warmth. He lets the hallway pull the pressure of Kevin’s fingerprints off his shoulders and tugs on a sweater when he reaches the kitchen. It’s Kevin’s, thrown over the back of another chair.
Messy bachelor pad. She will take him back. A few weeks Time enough make her point. To stop doing it. To get better at hiding it.
It’s not even that it is particularly cold, standing shifting from foot to foot waiting for the kettle to boil. But in comparison it’s winter. Kevin too hot, right from his bones that feel too close to the surface of his skin. He curls in too close, too near, and he has always pulled away too quickly when he realises.
It wouldn’t be traffic he heard, this high up. It might have been rain that Pep heard, that woke him up. But he always wakes up early. In his life he’s that man who shrugs out of bed early to beat the kids and his wife up. Who makes appointments that start early in the day.
It’s Wednesday, or Friday, or Sunday. It’s morning, it’s raining probably pouring, it’s not cold enough for sweaters, or tea, or curling together in bed, the old man is snoring, and the water is boiling. Hot clear tears jump out of the spout of the kettle and dance on the hood of the oven like the rain on the roof five stories above them.
It’s morning, and Pep briefly pretends to hear the traffic through the open kitchen window, even from an apartment this high up. Even though it’s too early for the morning rush. He leaves Kevin’s sweater folded neatly in the couch. Grabs his phone, it’s morning and he has meetings.

Practical matters, the Turntable.
I will leave the really crazy money stuff for others.
There is a definite line to cross to get into the good stuff. Once there you probably have 90% to 97% of perfection. Going farther is very expensive and all you will really get is a bit quieter and a bit better speed stability.
A tale of two Tables both on today's local Classifieds. (Vancouver BC Craigslist).
Tumblr media
This is a Rega Planar 2 asking 650 bucks. It has an aftermarket Grace 707 arm which is excellent for high compliance moving magnet or moving iron pickups. (Which I think are best) This is a 95% type TT. It leaves you room to get a good pickup and stay under $1000.00. Likely it comes with that pickup in the picture.
My recollection is it is a belt drive unit and easy to keep running for a long long time. It is fully manual, and if you have a steady hand is a great value. I owned two TTs with that arm and it is very good.
There are 4 others in the same price and quality range in the same part of the listings.
This is over the line of good stuff and is not a compromise if used with care.
And here is another example:
Tumblr media
This is a J A Michell Reference hydraulic TT. It dates back to the 1970s and is a work of kinetic art. It was in a Kubric movie and is in one or two museums. It is listed for $4500 bucks and has been listed for over a year I think.
This is not over that line I talked about. It is maybe a 75% table. It has an SME arm which for the vintage is about as good as you can get. BUT. The Platter supports the LP at only 9 places with tiny foam pads. I speak from experience as I owned a TT from the same designer with the same platter and drive. It is FN beautiful but the sound is poor. Since the platter supports the LP on effectively finger tips it does not in any fashion damp vibration in the LP which is surprisingly significant. You will hear a plasticy undertone in many places. You may even have feedback from the speakers.
It is to collect and to look at. Full stop.
Current practice is to have record clamps or weights to hold the LP firmly down to suppress vibration. Some TTs even have vacuum pumps to suck the LP down to the platter. Extreme, but effective.
Going much further than "the line" is rapidly expensive. Other TTs currently listed for about $1600 bucks are only a bit better if at all. There is no limit to how expensive they can get.
As far as speed stability is concerned it can be bothersome. The usual thing is the hole in the center of the LP is just a wee bit off center. That is not the TT's fault. There is a VERY expensive tool that can be used to detect and let that be accurately corrected, but when I mean expensive it is more than the cost of my whole system. Mr Fremer has that of course.
Also fans of different drive types describe all sorts of characteristics that only their favorite drive does properly. Many dislike direct drive. Fun Fact EVERY Neumann lathe used to cut the masters is direct drive attached to the cutting platter with a flex joint. So there!
As far as quiet is concerned that is very subjective. Once the music starts it usually overwhelms the basic mechanical sound of the TT. Most TTs have noise levels far below the noise floor of the recording.
In that vein I notice that at the start and end of most of my records there is a low rumbling or noise that stops just before the music kicks in. I think that is a result of the cutting or pressing process. Usually I hear nothing between tracks on my system.
My preferred linear tracking types are pretty rare. Right now there is one listed in the entire Canadian Audio Mart which is kinda like mine for $500 bucks. There are several of those very compact not quite good types which usually go for $50 to $200 bucks.
I did see one that is totally bonkers made in the Netherlands. It is a Miniot Wheel. Rather expensive.
Tumblr media
It is linear and plays the album from below. A triumph of design over practicality. How do you clean the FN album before you play it? Hey dream on people. You gotta try things. At least it takes up very little space on the desk. Some of the details are extremely clever. Hmmmm.

You told me about your family so it’s only fair I tell you about mine!!!
The Flash is tall and muscular but always comes off small when he’s next to people like Superman or Wonder Woman on the rare occasions we’re allowed at the Hall of Justice-And only ever in the library or gym! For shame! He’s very handsome tho, his hair is that darker strawberry blonde you don’t see very often in either reality. He’s also very kind and surprisingly funny! He gets points just for tolerating us!!! He really deserves them.
Speedsters are always SO warm, it has something to do with their body’s metabolism? Their hearts are super fast too like hummingbirds even when they’re asleep! They go through shoes like most people go through paper napkins! Constant repairing for shoes. Sometimes they get so excited they start vibrating!!! Sometimes when they’re scared or anxious they vibrate and can’t stop until they calm down which usually means handing them something to ground themselves.
Kid Flash is really funny too!!! His favorite joke is answering calls while vibrating his vocal cords so it sounds like he’s talking into a fan. He’s combined it with helium before and it’s HILARIOUS! I don’t know for sure if he really knows Nightwing but Nightwing isn’t really a commonly known superhero so much as a benevolent local cryptid people leave little thank you letters or candy out for, so I’ll take his word for it! He flirts with any girl in a hundred miles who even looks at him but is more picky with boys. I think he fears rejection there more than he does with girls, which I can’t blame him for… He’s not very good at phasing yet and keeps running directly into walls because of it-We try very hard not to laugh because he doesn’t think it’s funny.
They’re both surprisingly friendly with some of the rogues-The Flash says that allowing the more reasonable, predictable criminals to keep the others in line is better than letting a power vacuum happen since that would just get violent faster than they can clean up. He has conditions on that but we’re not supposed to mess with them too much. Sometimes a call is just a newly developed meta who’s scared and doesn’t know what’s going on so they always try to give people the benefit of the doubt.
We’ve never met any of the Bat family but the Flash says they’re probably vampires or something. I can never tell if he’s joking or it’s a real theory of his. None of us have been to Gotham aside from the Flash-KF has been to its sister city though!-so I can’t say I have any evidence to the contrary or for it.
Kid Flash is friends with a red head I’m yet to properly meet and a tall blond girl who KF flirts with a lot. She doesn’t seem to find it funny but never asks him to stop so I guess it’s complicated there. He’s a more senior hero than I am so he gets to know more than I do which I’m totally okay with!!! Im content to heal and mend for now!
Sorry for the long ask! ❤️⚡️
*me noting all this down ✍️*
Thank you for all this useful information! I love hearing about your DR :)
Also, Flash, I am offended. We are NOT vampires (maybe) /j

A Detailed Discussion on Why Plumbing Plans Are Crucial for Construction Coordination
Making sure a building’s plumbing system is well-designed is essential—it’s what brings water in, takes waste out, and handles gas lines safely. To keep things running smoothly on-site, construction crews need detailed plumbing plans included in the project documents. Without them, there’s a higher risk of mistakes that can get costly fast. A good design ensures everything works together the way it should—safe, efficient, and built to last.
Companies providing plumbing system design support created detailed plumbing plan for the construction industry.
Symbols and Notations in Plumbing Plans
Plumbing strategies use consistent symbols and symbolizations to communicate data about a building's water, drainage, and gas systems. Each symbol signifies a distinct factor or function, such as a circle with a "W" for a water heater or a triangle for a valve. These symbols are uniform throughout the business, allowing experts to read them appropriately irrespective of location.
Plumbing system design in construction impacts building energy simulation by influencing water heating loads, energy consumption, and overall building efficiency. Efficient plumbing layouts reduce heat loss and optimize energy performance, contributing to sustainable and cost-effective building operations.
Notations provide additional context by specifying pipe sizes, materials, and flow directions. For example, dashed lines could represent hot water lines, but solid lines could represent cold water lines. These notations facilitate proper installation and functionality by identifying potential conflicts during the design phase and making appropriate modifications.
Types of Plumbing Drawings
Plumbing drawings contain extensive information about a building's systems, including water supply, drainage, vent, and gas piping. Each kind provides a detailed view of the system's layout and components, enabling perfect installation and coordination.
Water Supply System
Water supply drawings show the network of pipes that transport water throughout a building, including the routing of hot and cold water lines and fixture placement. They determine pipe diameters and materials to manage the required water pressure and flow rates, ensuring that the system satisfies the building's needs while maintaining performance and safety.
Drainage System
Drainage drawings depict the network of pipes that remove wastewater and stormwater from a structure. They offer information about pipe slopes, sizes, and materials to ensure proper flow and prevent clogs. These designs also include cleanouts, traps, and vents, which are necessary for system operation and preventing sewer gases from entering the structure.
Vent system
Vent system drawings guarantee that the plumbing works properly by enabling air to enter and exit the drainage system. They represent vent pipe layouts, preventing vacuums from obstructing wastewater flow while preserving atmospheric pressure within pipes. These designs describe vent pipe diameters and placements, ensuring optimal drainage performance and building safety.
Gas Pipeline System
Gas pipeline drawings show the network of pipes that carry natural gas or propane to appliances. They establish gas line routing, including meter, regulator, and shut-off valve positions, as well as pipe diameters and materials for safe and efficient gas transportation. These drawings help plan safe installation and operation by noting potential hazards such as leaks or pressure drops.
Reading and Understanding Plumbing Plans
Understanding symbols, spatial relationships, and component sequences is necessary when interpreting plumbing blueprints. This entails inspecting layouts to understand how plumbing system design supports interact with a building's architecture. Recognizing component sequences assures conformance with the intended design and identifies deviations that could result in inefficiencies or malfunctions.
Evaluating component specifications is also critical for ensuring that materials and dimensions meet project requirements and local codes. This examination guarantees that the system meets safety and environmental regulations, which is especially crucial for projects that prioritize sustainability.
Coordination of Other Plans
Integrating plumbing plans with other construction plans is critical for successful project execution. Coordination occurs during the design phase when architects, engineers, and contractors work together to coordinate plumbing systems with structural, electrical, and HVAC plans. Early interdisciplinary interaction identifies and resolves potential issues prior to construction, avoiding the need for costly revisions.
Construction
Effective trade communication ensures project momentum, including regular meetings and updates to handle developing difficulties. Open communication enables teams to predict how changes in one system will affect others, resulting in proactive solutions. For example, if building layout changes impact plumbing design, early communication ensures that adjustments are made without disturbing workflow.

Beat the Heat: Easy Monthly AC Maintenance Hacks
When the weather gets hot, your AC is your best buddy, making your home cool and comfortable. However, to make your air conditioner perform at its optimum level, regular maintenance is crucial. For people living in Calicut, maintaining your AC in good condition is vital in order to weather the summer heat. Here are some easy and effective monthly AC maintenance tips so that your AC remains efficient and your home remains cool throughout the season.
Clean or Replace the Air Filters
Cleaning or replacing your AC's air filters is one of the simplest and most critical maintenance chores. Clogged filters impede airflow, cause your AC to work harder, and decrease its efficiency. Monthly cleaning or replacing (or whenever necessary) helps your AC run efficiently, maintains indoor air quality, and reduces energy bills.
Check the Coils and Fins
Over time, your evaporator coils and condenser coils can become clogged with dirt, which weakens the cooling ability of your unit. Regularly inspect the coils for dirt accumulation and clean them when they need it. Also, align the fins on your condenser coils to have free airflow and maximum cooling performance.
Drain Line Cleaning
A blocked condensate drain may cause water damage and poor performance. Every month, inspect the drain line for blockages and clean it with a wet-dry vacuum. This ensures that drainage is properly maintained, preventing water accumulation within your unit.
Check the Thermostat
Verify your thermostat by checking it once a month. Ensure it's at the correct temperature setting and reacts in good time when changed. A faulty thermostat will lead to improper cooling and increased energy use.
Check the Outdoor Unit
The outdoor unit is easily overlooked, but it is equally crucial as the indoor unit. Inspect for any obstructions such as leaves, branches, or dirt that might restrict airflow. Cut back any plants near the unit and keep it clean for optimal performance.
Regular Professional Maintenance
Though DIY work may be able to keep your AC in good working condition, professional maintenance should be scheduled at least once or twice a year. AC service in Calicut can make sure that all parts are in proper working condition and avoid any breakdowns during the peak summer season.
Summary
For excellent AC service in Calicut, rely on Fixail to have your AC performing at its best. Our expert technicians provide periodic maintenance services based on your AC unit's specifications to maintain efficiency, longevity, and comfort. Stay cool in style—reach out to Fixail for all your AC maintenance requirements!

Maintaining your air conditioner properly is crucial for ensuring it operates smoothly all year long. As a homeowner, understanding the importance of regular maintenance can help you avoid expensive repairs, improve energy efficiency, and prolong the lifespan of your unit. The complete homeowner’s guide to air conditioner maintenance provides key steps to keep your AC in optimal working condition.
Key Actions in the Complete Homeowner’s Guide to Air Conditioner Maintenance
One of the first things to do in maintaining your air conditioner is regularly changing or cleaning the air filter. A blocked filter can restrict airflow, making your system work harder and decreasing its efficiency. Depending on usage, cleaning or replacing the filter every one to three months is recommended. This simple maintenance task enhances airflow, supports energy efficiency, and ensures clean, fresh air.
Cleaning the condenser coils is another important task. These coils release heat from your home and can accumulate dirt, dust, and debris over time. Cleaning them once a year will help maintain their function. Turn off the power and gently clean the coils with a soft brush or a garden hose. It’s also essential to keep the area around your outdoor unit free of debris like leaves or branches, which can block airflow and hinder performance.
The Advantages of Following the Complete Homeowner’s Guide to Air Conditioner Maintenance
By following the steps in the complete homeowner’s guide to air conditioner maintenance, you can avoid many common problems that result from neglecting your system. One important task is ensuring the condensate drain line is clear. This line helps remove excess moisture, and if it becomes clogged, it can lead to water damage or increased humidity. Use a wet-dry vacuum to periodically clear the drain line and prevent strain on your unit.
Checking the thermostat settings is another key aspect of air conditioner maintenance. Make sure the thermostat is working properly and set to a comfortable temperature. If your thermostat is malfunctioning, it can cause inefficient operation or unnecessary repairs. Regularly testing the thermostat ensures it is properly regulating the temperature and preventing excessive energy consumption.
It’s also beneficial to schedule seasonal maintenance with a professional technician. While you can handle regular tasks like changing the filter and cleaning the coils, a technician can conduct a more thorough inspection of your system. They can check for refrigerant leaks, inspect electrical components, and ensure everything is running at peak efficiency.
By following the guidelines in the complete homeowner’s guide to air conditioner maintenance, you’ll not only improve your system's performance but also extend its lifespan. A well-maintained AC unit offers consistent cooling, reduces the risk of breakdowns, and helps lower your energy bills. Routine care is an investment that pays off, providing comfort during the hot summer months.

Is Professional Water Damage Repair Worth It in Dubai?
Water damage is one of the most frustrating and costly issues homeowners and businesses face, especially in a city like Dubai, where properties are often high-end and modern. Whether it’s caused by flooding, leaking pipes, or air conditioning malfunctions, water damage can strike unexpectedly and escalate quickly. In the aftermath, one crucial question arises: Is professional water damage repair worth it in Dubai?
The short answer? Yes. And here’s why.
The Risks of Ignoring Water Damage
Water damage & Data Recovery Services in Dubai might appear harmless at first glance — perhaps just a small damp spot on the wall or ceiling. But beneath the surface, it can be far more serious. Hidden moisture can weaken structural elements, promote mold growth, and damage electrical systems. Over time, what seemed like a minor inconvenience can turn into a major repair job that costs thousands of dirhams.
Dubai's climate, while typically dry, presents unique challenges. High humidity levels indoors, especially during summer months when air conditioning systems are running constantly, can accelerate mold growth and increase the potential for condensation-related water damage. Add to that the occasional heavy rain or plumbing failures in high-rise buildings, and you’ve got a recipe for disaster if issues aren’t addressed properly.
Why DIY Solutions Aren’t Enough
When people first notice water damage, many are tempted to handle the problem themselves. After all, how hard can it be to mop up the water, dry the area, and repaint the wall?
While DIY solutions may seem to work temporarily, they rarely address the root of the problem. Water can seep deep into walls, floors, and ceilings, and without specialized equipment, it’s nearly impossible to detect the full extent of the damage. Household fans and dehumidifiers simply don’t have the power to thoroughly dry out affected materials.
In many cases, trying to save money upfront by skipping professional repair leads to higher expenses down the line. Hidden mold, warped wood, peeling paint, and structural deterioration are just a few of the long-term consequences of incomplete restoration.
What Professional Water Damage Repair Offers
Professional water damage repair companies in Dubai bring a range of tools, techniques, and expertise that go far beyond what any homeowner can manage on their own. Here’s what makes their service worth considering:
1. Comprehensive Inspection
Professionals use advanced moisture detection tools like infrared cameras and moisture meters to find hidden water pockets. This ensures all affected areas are treated — not just the visibly wet ones.
2. Efficient Water Extraction
High-powered pumps and vacuums are used to remove water quickly, preventing further damage. These machines are far more effective than any standard household tool for iPhone repair Dubai.
3. Thorough Drying and Dehumidification
Specialized air movers and commercial-grade dehumidifiers help dry the affected spaces completely. This step is crucial to prevent mold and mildew.
4. Sanitization and Mold Prevention
Standing water and moisture are breeding grounds for bacteria and fungi. Professionals sanitize affected areas to eliminate harmful microbes and apply mold-resistant treatments to prevent future growth.
5. Structural and Cosmetic Repairs
Once the space is clean and dry, restoration experts handle any necessary repairs — from replacing drywall and insulation to repainting walls and fixing flooring.
6. Faster Recovery Time
Thanks to their experience and equipment, professionals can restore your home or office much faster than a DIY effort would allow, reducing disruption to your life or business.
The Dubai Factor: Why Local Expertise Matters
Dubai’s architectural style, building materials, and climate all require specialized knowledge when it comes to water damage repair. Professionals familiar with the city’s construction norms and environmental factors are better equipped to identify vulnerabilities and suggest long-term solutions.
For example, many modern buildings in Dubai use gypsum walls and high-tech HVAC systems, which require delicate handling during repairs. Local experts are trained to deal with these materials without causing further damage or compromising safety standards.
Additionally, the fast-paced lifestyle in Dubai means that time is of the essence. Many residents and business owners can’t afford extended downtimes, making fast and effective restoration a priority — something that professionals are well-equipped to deliver.
Cost vs. Value
One of the main concerns people have is cost. Yes, professional repair services can seem expensive at first glance, but when you compare it to the potential damage and loss you might face without them, the value becomes clear.
Here’s what you’re investing in:
Peace of mind knowing the issue is handled correctly
Prevention of recurring mold and structural problems
Preservation of property value
Reduced need for future repairs
Safe and healthy living or working space
In many cases, insurance companies are more willing to cover the cost of damage if the repair is handled by certified professionals. Trying to cut corners with DIY methods might lead to claims being denied — another factor to consider when weighing the true cost.
Final Thoughts
Book water damage repair Dubai is never convenient, but how you respond to it can make all the difference. In a city like Dubai, where property standards are high and environmental conditions unique, professional water damage repair isn’t just worth it — it’s often the smartest and safest choice.
So, if you ever find yourself dealing with water-related issues, don’t wait for the damage to spread. Invest in professional help and protect your home or business from long-term consequences. After all, prevention is always cheaper than repair — especially when it comes to water damage.

Whirlpool Fridge Repair: A Detailed Guide to Common Problems and Solutions
Tumblr media
A Whirlpool fridge is a reliable appliance, but like all devices, it may occasionally run into issues. Whether your fridge isn’t cooling properly, making unusual noises, or experiencing another malfunction, understanding the common problems and their fixes can save you time and money. In this guide, we’ll cover several typical Whirlpool fridge problems and provide troubleshooting tips for each.
1. Fridge Not Cooling Properly
One of the most common issues is when your Whirlpool fridge stops cooling as expected. This problem can occur for a variety of reasons, ranging from minor fixes to more serious repairs.
Possible Causes:
Dirty Condenser Coils: The coils located at the back or underneath the fridge can get clogged with dust and debris, reducing their ability to release heat, which affects cooling.
Evaporator Fan Failure: This fan circulates cold air throughout the fridge. If it malfunctions, cold air won’t flow properly, resulting in poor cooling.
Temperature Setting: Sometimes, the temperature may be set too high or too low, affecting cooling efficiency.
How to Fix:
Clean the Condenser Coils: Use a vacuum or a coil brush to remove dirt and dust from the coils, improving heat transfer.
Inspect the Evaporator Fan: Listen for the sound of the fan when the fridge is running. If it’s silent, you may need to replace the fan.
Adjust the Thermostat: Set the temperature between 37°F and 40°F (3°C - 4°C) for optimal performance.
2. Fridge Making Unusual Noises
A noisy Whirlpool fridge can be concerning, especially when the sounds are loud or persistent. Understanding the cause can help you determine if it's a quick fix or if you need professional help.
Possible Causes:
Compressor Issues: A loud humming or buzzing sound might indicate a problem with the compressor.
Condenser Fan Problems: If the condenser fan is dirty or obstructed, it can create loud, unpleasant noises.
Evaporator Fan Malfunction: When this fan is not working correctly, it can cause clicking or rattling noises.
How to Fix:
Clean the Condenser Fan: Dust and debris can obstruct the fan, leading to noisy operation. Cleaning the fan blades will help reduce noise.
Check the Evaporator Fan: If the fan is making irregular noises, it might be damaged. Inspect it for ice buildup or obstructions and replace it if necessary.
Inspect the Compressor: If the compressor is the source of the noise, it might need professional attention, as this part can be expensive to replace.
3. Water Leaks Inside the Fridge
A leaking Whirlpool fridge is another common issue that can lead to water pooling on the floor. This problem is usually due to a blocked defrost drain or worn-out door seals.
Possible Causes:
Clogged Defrost Drain: The defrost drain can get blocked with food particles, causing water to accumulate and leak inside the fridge.
Broken Door Seals: If the seals around the fridge door are cracked, torn, or dirty, moisture can escape, leading to leaks.
How to Fix:
Clear the Defrost Drain: You can use warm water and a turkey baster to clear any blockages in the drain. A small brush can also be used to clean out debris.
Replace the Door Seals: Check the seals for any cracks or damage. If they’re worn out, order a replacement set and install them to improve the fridge’s efficiency.
4. Ice Maker Not Working
When the ice maker stops producing ice, it can be a real inconvenience, especially during warmer months. There are several possible reasons for this issue, including problems with the water supply, thermostat, or the ice maker itself.
Possible Causes:
Frozen Water Line: A frozen water line can block the flow of water to the ice maker, preventing it from producing ice.
Faulty Ice Maker or Thermostat: If the ice maker is defective or the thermostat is not set correctly, it may fail to produce ice.
How to Fix:
Defrost the Water Line: If the water line is frozen, thaw it using warm water. Ensure the line is clear of blockages.
Check the Thermostat and Ice Maker: Make sure the freezer temperature is set below 0°F (-18°C). If the ice maker continues to malfunction, it may need replacement.
5. Fridge Not Turning On
If your Whirlpool fridge isn’t turning on at all, this is often related to power issues or faulty components inside the appliance.
Possible Causes:
Power Issues: The fridge may not be getting power due to a tripped circuit breaker, blown fuse, or unplugged cord.
Faulty Start Relay or Control Board: The start relay helps the compressor start, and a malfunctioning control board may prevent the fridge from turning on.
How to Fix:
Check the Power Source: Ensure the fridge is plugged in and check the circuit breaker. Reset the breaker if it’s tripped.
Replace the Start Relay or Control Board: If the fridge still doesn’t power on, these components may need replacement. Consult a professional for these repairs.
6. Food Freezing in the Refrigerator
If food in your Whirlpool fridge starts freezing, it’s often due to a thermostat issue or air circulation problems inside the fridge.
Possible Causes:
Faulty Thermostat: A malfunctioning thermostat can cause the fridge to get too cold.
Obstructed Air Vents: If the air vents inside the fridge are blocked, it can cause uneven temperature distribution.
How to Fix:
Adjust the Temperature: Make sure the fridge is set between 37°F and 40°F (3°C to 4°C). If the temperature is too low, the fridge will freeze food.
Clear Air Vents: Ensure that the air vents are unobstructed so that air can circulate properly throughout the fridge.
7. Fridge Light Not Working
When the light inside your Whirlpool fridge isn’t working, the issue is often related to the light bulb or the door switch.
Possible Causes:
Burnt-Out Light Bulb: Over time, light bulbs in the fridge can burn out and need replacing.
Faulty Door Switch: If the door switch is defective, the light may not turn on when the fridge door is opened.
How to Fix:
Replace the Light Bulb: Check the bulb and replace it with a new one if it’s burnt out.
Inspect the Door Switch: If the switch isn’t working, you may need to replace it to restore proper lighting.
When to Call a Professional
While many minor issues can be fixed with basic troubleshooting, some problems—like a malfunctioning compressor or issues with the sealed system—require professional repair. If you’ve tried these fixes and the problem persists, it’s time to call a certified Whirlpool technician for assistance.
Conclusion Understanding and troubleshooting common Whirlpool fridge problems can help you maintain your appliance’s performance and extend its lifespan. Regular maintenance, like cleaning the condenser coils and checking the door seals, can prevent many issues. However, for more complex issues, don’t hesitate to reach out to a professional for repairs.
