#prolly Hunk teaching Shiro how to cook

...I’ve only watched one episode, but if I end up rambling about a Slice of Life SingleDad! Shiro...it’s totally Writer Nonnie’s fault.

...alright, think I got it. This is pretty heavily inspired by Sweetness and Lightning. Although...I just do not have a good opinion about Adam whatsoever. So fair warning for that. He does get better, but never has a SecondShot as a romantic partner with Shiro.

-Shiro and Adam divorce right about the time Keith’s adoption is finalized. The split for Shiro feels pretty sudden. Sure they had problems for years, but...

-Keith internalizing Guilt about his dads splitting up, especially after Adam states that he wants nothing to do with Keith. (Like...the tween didn’t already have issues...)

-SingleDad! Shiro to tween!Keith. They have a bit of an Older-Younger Brother dynamic mixed with kindasorta Father-Son

-Shiro’s Twin Brothers Jiro and Ryou are very involved to help him pick up the pieces. Especially with him also needing to work a FullTime Job as a teacher at Keith’s School.

-the GarrisonTrio are Keith’s Classmates and share the same homeroom with him with Shiro as their homeroom teacher. (Pidge just skipped several grades asyoudo and very much acts like that lowkey terrifying KnowItAll madgenius little sister to the group at times.)

-Matt’s a gradstudent/student teacher, so he shows up from time to time. Like Ryou, he has two modes: instigator of chaos and Actually A Responsible Adult

-Allura, Lisa, Curtis, and Coran are also teachers at the same school. They basically all have a crush on Shiro but give him his space. Eventually Shiro goes on a few dates with Curtis but just realizes he’s still not ready for a relationship (or to drag Keith into it), which Curtis accepts. It’s a bit awkward at first but eventually their work-friendship gets back on track. (Eventually Curtis and Adam date. Curtis has a few choice words for Adam, but is pleasantly surprised to learn that Adam realizes he seriously screwed up with Shiro and Keith. This being several months after the 1-3 dates Shiro and Curtis went on, and about a full year post-divorce.)

-Side of Corverson. (Iverson’s amused by Coran’s look-but-don’t-touch attitude concerning Shiro before they get together.)

-also prolly some clumsy heith flirting ‘cause they’re awkward tweens with crushes. (Or, Hunk is. Keith’s probably demiromantic-ace but likes the attention, and that’s good enough for Hunk. The adults are careful not to tease them too much.)

-Shiro quickly realizes that he needs to be able to feed Keith more than just undercooked and burned ramen noodles, toast, and takeout...but...is at a loss. Keith never complains, and tries to do his homework without help and help keep their post-divorce apartment picked up, but it all bothers Shiro (and he suspects that Keith’s “model behavior” is actually a bit maladaptive from his time as a foster kid + the divorce.)

-Shiro’s collegues and Hunk to the rescue! Well, with cooking, anyway. Lisa and Hunk trade off teaching Shiro how to cook, featuring fanon!Ginger (in my fanon she’s Hunk’s older sister) helping to write up the recipes. Allura and Coran do their best to adjust Shiro’s workload while he Adjusts

-SpaceDad (yep he gets that nickname ‘cause his classroom pretty much is exploding with space posters and model rockets) and “SpaceKids” + Triganes + AdultGang shenanigans and bonding
