❤️ 🧡 💕
❤️: what’s the working title?
1. The Keys to Raetira / Aukereth. Not sure which I prefer.
2. Through Crimson Stars
3. Warped Perspectives
4. Miserable Life
🧡: what were previous working titles/ideas?
KTR: I don’t remember the original title for this one at all, but the earliest ideas of this one were really different from my ideas for it now. The main character was stranded on some island where mythical creatures had formed a secret society away from humans out of fear for their survival. Because humans had been hunting them, I think? Then, it sort of evolved into a dark comedy, somehow?? And there was a very poorly thought out romance sub-plot that didn’t make any sense. Now it’s set in an entirely separate world, and it centers around a completely different plot. There’s still some of the quirky and funny elements to it, of course, but the overall tone of it seems to be a bit more mature and thought out than what it was originally. Not to sound snobby about it, of course!
TCS: Well, I know that the current title was inspired by a Doctor Who quote, I think?? But this one didn’t even have an actual title until like three months ago? It was literally just a TXT file on my phone with a list of species that existed in this sci-fi universe I’d dreamt up. Now I have like, at least 3 ideas for stories set in this universe?
WP: It started out from a tumblr text post that I saw years ago. That one about the superhero and villain who turn out to be roommates? And next thing you know, I ended up with an entire cast of heroes and villains and various story ideas.
ML: Believe it or not, this idea and the title actually came about from an old Sims 4 save. I wanted to try making a sim and just giving him the most terrible life ever, because I was bored and wanted to try playing the game differently from how I normally do. Well, it completely backfired, because I’m a such a goodie-two-shoes, so he ended up with a successful career, a loving wife, perfect family, and he also ends up in a poly-relationship??. But, whoops, I got invested in all of these characters, and the title is now ironic and funny. So now it’s become its own thing.
Long stories short; I keep starting with small interesting or funny ideas and end up developing entire universes around them. And then I barely ever actually write anything about them. It never ends!! (except I’m finally getting some work done on KTR, but it’s taking forever)
💕: what has your favorite scene been?
KTR: The villain’s introduction is probably my favourite so far? Especially because Darren is just absolutely oblivious about it until like five minutes later, when he realizes “oh, that shady person with menacing eyes was a bad guy? good thing I didn’t sell him this magical artifact then I guess”. He tries his best.
TCS: I keep imagining this scene where there’s a stowaway aboard a small cargo ship, and the captain takes a weapon to go check it out, expecting pirates, or bounty hunters, or something. But then she gets there and it’s just some dude off the street of wherever they stopped last. Then of course, there actually are a group a pirates, but he’s not on their side or anything. I’m still working out the details, but yeah.
WP: The main character (of the current story) gives the audience her introductory monologue at the start of the story and then breaks into a museum.
ML: Well, there’s a scene at some point where one of the daughters comes home after being out all night and gets a stern talking to from both parents, which then turns into an argument between the parents, and no punishment is ever issued. Which honestly, relatable.

Dryad Temple
It's a scene that happens much later in the story, but I wrote the scene for a writing class last year and it's still so fucking funny and I am definitely including it
In two words, (so as not to spoil anything) describe the scene you are most proud of or took the most time to write.

🖤💔💓💗 for the writer asks!
I think I’ll put this one under a cut. Two long rambling posts in a row feels like just a bit much, and this one is even longer whoops
🖤: what are your MC names?
KTR: Darren Gladstone, Ariana Chatham, Tabitha Crystalford, Tolgatus Irogh, Persephone Asardotha, Galather, and Jiadoray Thynerus.
TCS: Anajada Markmay, Unis AL-482515, Sterling OAI-971, Pherousa Cuparia, Teshima Johakki, Slingar’eth Bowtithexilon
WP: Cynthia Vaughn, Katherine Vickers, Harrison Carver, Jenna-Ruth Graves, Jocelyn Sparks
ML: Isaiah Reynolds, Noemi Castilla, Noelle Reynolds-Castilla, Shauna Reynolds-Castilla, Amber Reynolds-Castilla
💔: give a brief character bio of your MCs
~Keys To Raetira~
Darren is an alcoholic with a knack for finding himself in trouble. He’s usually friendly, if not somewhat naive, and he doesn’t really know a lot of things, but he has good intentions. Maybe he needs some positive encouragement. He’s still figuring out his sexuality, but he’s probably bi or pan.
Ariana’s a lovable nerd who clings to obscure knowledge and picks up things fairly quickly. Though she’s not exactly great with people, and prefers to be alone. She’s probably straight? Maybe??
Tabitha is a wizard who lives in a cave. She’s a kind and caring soul, and is talented in a variety of spellwork. Though, enchanting objects is her specialty. She’s a lesbian.
Tolgatus deserted from the orcish military and now lives as a farmer. He’s a little bit paranoid, little bit obsessive over his “honour”, and very tall. Maybe just a bit gay? He doesn’t like to talk about it.
Persephone is a former slave who sort of co-founded an anti-slavery network, murdered her previous owner, and also staged a mass break-out. To some, she can seem cold and ruthless. She is, of course, but she also has a fun and cynical side to her as well. She’s been through a lot, and is also very bi.
Jiadoray is a runaway elven princess. Maybe just a bit spoiled and holier-than-thou. She’s trying her best though.
Galather is a dog. Literally. He is a good boy, and sometimes he picks up sticks.
(I’m feeling too exhausted and sick today to elaborate on the other characters right now, sorry)
💓: is it part of a series or standalone?
KTR: It’s sort of a planned series? I guess? Like, I only plan it to be one book long, but I’m kind of writing it in parts. (Like I previously mentioned, kind of an RPG style, with the main story and several smaller stories alongside)
TCS: It’s not gonna be a coherent series, but I have several ideas that are set in this universe.
WP: Same as above.
ML: I have no idea at this point, to be honest.
💗: what genre is it in?
KTR: It feels like a hybrid of high fantasy and low fantasy?? Eh, let’s just say Fantasy. Keep it simple.
TCS: Sci-fi
WP: Is… is Superheroes a genre? If not, then it kinda changes depending on the story, a little bit? But the general focus has to do with superpowers, I guess?
ML: Modern day?? I have no idea, I write so few things that are actually set in a modern or real world-ish setting lol

Tabitha and Persephone!
I already answered this for Persephone, which can be found under my #raesand’s oc ramblings tag, if you want to know about her!
Full Name: Tabitha Edasi Crystalford Gender and Sexuality: Female, LesbianPronouns: She/herEthnicity/Species: DjenieBirthplace and Birthdate: 25th of Safilmus, 221 5th Age (25/7/221 5A). The city of Khothaa, Eabanara ExpanseGuilty Pleasures: She has a thing for interior decoration, and enjoys collecting interesting artifacts and trinkets, particularly objects of historical or magical significance.Phobias: The idea of succumbing to the corruptive effects of dark magic is something that’s always at the back of her mind. She steers clear of anything to do with it for that reason. She’s also kind of squeamish around blood, but not quite to the point of passing out. What They Would Be Famous For: Back home, Tabitha made a living off of enchanting objects for people, mostly jewelry, sometimes ceremonial weapons. Though she’s still quite good at it, most of the Rivenhold townsfolk would visit her for treatments and cures to ailments and injuries. What They Would Get Arrested For: Well, someone once accused her of fraud when one of the enchanted objects she sold didn’t work 100% as promised. But there was no follow up with actual charges.OC You Ship Them With: Persephone!! I ship these two so much, honestly. I also ship her platonically with Tolgatus.OC Most Likely To Murder Them: Tabitha is probably the only main cast character in this book who I can’t contemplate anyone wanting to murder or fight for any reason.Favorite Movie/Book Genre: RomanceLeast Favorite Movie/Book Cliche: Overuse of similes and metaphors. Just say what you mean, dammit!Talents and/or Powers: Though she has a fairly extensive knowledge of the magical arts, Tabitha is particularly skilled with enchantments and healing spells. Why Someone Might Love Them: Because she’s fabulous, obviously! Because she’s a kind individual, with a gentle and caring demeanor. She’s also a huge nerd about magic things, and gets very excited if you ask to know more. Why Someone Might Hate Them: To some, she comes across as arrogant. Not to say she isn’t, at times. She’s also kind of stand-offish when people question her about more personal things, especially questions about her past. How They Change: After some time, she does finally confide in the rest of the party about her Mysterious Past™, and why she moved from a big city to a cave on the outskirts of a small town up north, but I probably shouldn’t go into that for spoiler reasons?? Basically, she just opens up about herself a bit more on a personal level. Why You Love Them: I mean, she’s a gay witch who lives in a decked out cave and has fabulous dress sense and a kind heart, what’s not to love? Similarly to Persephone, Tabitha is also one of my older OCs and has gone through a few different iterations, and she was originally intended to appear in that same scrapped story. Honestly, thank gods for that development, because the original versions were… not great, to be honest.

rayesu dratilnor?
Full Name: Rayesu Vineri DratilnorGender and Sexuality: Male, GayPronouns: He/himEthnicity/Species: Tenekar (Dark Elf)Birthplace and Birthdate: 18th of Helemyar, 383 5th Age (18/9/383 5A). Orothan, Vaesnahar province.Guilty Pleasures: Flirting with his clients, and sometimes his targets.Phobias: Any kind of insect, arachnid, or similar arthropods make him uneasy. Especially big ones, like togollas or scarrax flies. What They Would Be Famous For: Rayesu and his twin sister, Arynso, are known for their work as hired mercenaries. What They Would Get Arrested For: Armed robbery, trespassing, murder, and vandalism. Though, Vaesnahar has rather loose laws surrounding mercenary work, so he’d more likely be arrested outside of the province.OC You Ship Them With: Darren Gladstone. I haven’t written this far yet, but I just know the two of them are gonna have a brief fling.OC Most Likely To Murder Them: I doubt she’d actually stoop to murder, but Ariana really doesn’t trust him or like him, and she’s maybe just slightly jealous. Apart from that, Rayesu has definitely pissed off more than a few people.Favorite Movie/Book Genre: PoetryLeast Favorite Movie/Book Cliche: Love-at-first-sight, or similar tropes.Talents and/or Powers: Rayesu really has a way with words, knowing just what to say in order to influence or subdue someone, usually while his sister makes off with the target’s coins or jewels. Why Someone Might Love Them: Well, again, he has a way of charming people, and then of course there’s his handsome good looks. His close bond with his sister tends to work for playing the sympathy card if needed, but it’s not an act, he really does care for her. He’s kind of a sarcastic ass, which I suppose could count towards the next point as well. Why Someone Might Hate Them: He’s a total prick when he wants to be, and apart from his sister, he’s basically the embodiment of that “I’d sell you to Satan for one corn chip” meme. How They Change: I’m gonna be honest with you, he really doesn’t. He develops a soft spot for Darren and his friends, but that’s about as far as his transformation goes. Why You Love Them: I have a weakness for roguishly handsome characters that go about breaking hearts and sticking it to people who have it coming, and it shows.

I don't know this OC of yours but I would love to know more about Persephone!
Full Name: Persephone Lethrise AsardothaGender and Sexuality: Female, BiPronouns: She/HerEthnicity/Species: FairyBirthplace and Birthdate: 27th of Adhana, 388 5th Age (27/4/388 5A). Alleth, Sakrela provinceGuilty Pleasures: Catching people by surprise, maybe giving them a small scare. She tends to move silently out of habit, so this happens often.Phobias: Enclosed spaces, being recaptured, losing her sister (again)What They Would Be Famous For: Staging a riot/mass break-out, co-founding an underground anti-slavery network. What They Would Get Arrested For: Honestly, this list is basically the same as the one above, except it includes theft and the murder of a noble.OC You Ship Them With: Tabitha Crystalford. Though, I also kind of ship her with Darren.OC Most Likely To Murder Them: Basically any of the Sakrelan nobility or slave traders probably want her dead.Favorite Movie/Book Genre: MysteryLeast Favorite Movie/Book Cliche: Know-it-all characters with perfect memories and attention to detail. She thinks it’s unrealistic.Talents and/or Powers: She’s fairly talented with a dagger, and taught herself some techniques for combating against magic such as deflecting spells or breaking runes. Why Someone Might Love Them: She has a “take no shit” attitude, and is unlikely to just stand by when there’s injustice. She’s very protective of those she cares about and loves, and she does have a kinder side to her that shines through sometimes. She also has a quirky and dark sense of humour. Why Someone Might Hate Them: She can be cold or distant, and sometimes she gets really angry over things that seem small. She has trouble letting go of grudges and vendettas. She has a habit of bottling up her emotions and traumas, often leading to worse problems than if she would just confide in someone. How They Change: Persephone eventually learns that she can depend on others for help and support if/when she needs to, and because of this, she’s able to better deal with her trauma and leave behind her old grudges. Why You Love Them: Persephone is actually one of my oldest OCs (like before I even knew what OC stood for). She started out very different, and was originally meant for an entirely different story idea that I since scrapped. Her personal story arc kind of reminds me of myself, a little bit. (The part about learning to trust other people for support, minus the slavery and revenge complex)

💚💜💕
(Heck, I completely missed this ask whoops. thanks Tumblr.)
💚: how long have you been working on it?
Well, it really depends on what we define as “working” because I am an avid procrastinator and a very slow writer (plus the depression doesn’t exactly speed things up at all). But if I had to make a guess…
KTR: I think the first ideas for it came in around 10th grade, which would have been like, 2014-2015? But I didn’t start writing the actual story until 12th grade (late 2016-ish) So yeah
TCS: I’m almost certain this one started in 2016, because I distinctly remember discussing something about it with two of my pals while loitering in a bookstore. (I think we were discussing humanoid aliens, or something like that?) That places it around that time-frame. (shout out to Ian and Sarah for enduring my ramblings)
WP: Sometime last year, I think? Maybe also early 2016? I don’t remember
ML: Well, it started out in 2015, but then it became its own thing around 2016
So basically, I had a really creative spree two-ish years ago and I’ve accomplished almost nothing since lmao
💜: where are you in the writing process?
KTR: I finally made it to Chapter 2, and there is an extensive amount of lore and history and worldbuilding stuff somewhere in the project’s Google Drive folder.
TCS: There’s that entire list of species that I started with, as well as other lists of characters and planets and factions, but so far it’s mostly short ficlets and daydreams.
WP: I finally started one of the planned stories, the lesbian romance one. There’s also some general idea on where I should go with the other two projects I had in mind. (which at this point they feel like rip-offs of Batman and Fallout New Vegas, just a little bit)
ML: I have a few short fics, but that’s really about it so far, apart from a list of characters, and the stories in my mind
In conclusion, I really like lists apparently, and my ADHD is through the roof
💞: which future scene are you looking forward to writing?
(I already answered “what has your favourite scene been”, so I’m substituting it for this similar one from the list, hope that’s alright)
KTR: So many, but I think I’m especially looking forward to the murder mystery town. That’s gonna be fun. Also, there’s definitely going to be a few small info dumps, because I spent too much time on the lore and it would be a shame to just end up ignoring it now.
TCS: Slingar’eth ends up falling in line with the same bunch of hooligans that he was initially assigned to bring in to custody, and he just kind of has to roll with it. I think at some point, I might end up redoing an entry that I wrote a while back, about how a war started between two empires. It kind of had a quirky Hitchhikers-Guide vibe.
WP: At some point, Cynthia, the main character, gets her heart broken, so she ends up super-speed punching some stuff. It’s more dramatic in my head than it sounds.
ML: Noelle and her girlfriend find out that their parents are having an affair (in reality, it’s a poly-relationship, but they haven’t told their kids yet) so they have to deal with the fact that it technically makes them step-siblings, and they debate on whether or not to tell anybody.
So yeah, plenty of ideas, but I have no idea how to follow through on projects that I start. It’s a long process. Thanks for the asks!!

For the OC Headcanon thing: 15, 16, 17, 19, and 20.
15. Which OC is book smart?
Silteya Larethael, she’s always picking up books in her travels. Her home in Whiterun has several bookshelves, most of them are fairly full.
16. Which OC is naive?
Basically any of my OCs at the start of their arcs, but especially Matthew Shaw, Valyhra Lavellan, Lydia Ryder. Maybe also Darren, from my current WIP.
17. Which OC would steal a penguin from the zoo?
Jess Barker, without a doubt. (Though the Mojave Wasteland is very lacking in both zoos and penguins)
19. Which OC likes Harry Potter?
Aveline Shepard. It feels like the kind of thing she would have kept with her as her family moved around on Alliance business.
20. Which OC’s solution to another person’s problem is murder?
Okay, well this basically describes half of the characters from my current WIP (Especially Tolgatus and Persephone), but this also kinda applies to Jess Barker, Johnathan Shepard, Ilmanith Adaar, Juliana Hawke, and Kieshara Tabris (though she suggests it as a joke). Also, Valerie Chisholm, at least during her stint with the Nuka World raiders.

Thanks for the ask!!
