Prepping for next go round There is actually a lot that goes into painting. The prep and finishing a piece takes about as much time and effort as painting itself. I usually put 3 coats of gesso on before I start. SUSAN'S CABIN October 20, 2017 This is a cabin on Ruby Road in Ruby Montana. I have named it Susan’s Cabin because I am giving her this painting. Susan is my friend in Sheridan who is always giving people things, me included, and brightening the lives of others. Just yesterday she told me she always wanted a cabin in the woods but that would probably never happen. It was then I knew I needed to finish this painting and put her name on it. I was caught by all the colors surrounding the cabin when I first saw this charming place about 10 days ago.
