“Boudoir photography?” You reiterate. Your friend nods.
“A friend of a friend of a friend tried it recently and apparently she’s been full of confidence. Her boyfriend adores it too!” Your friend squeals.
You scrunch your eyebrows, wondering how semi-nude photos taken by a professional photographer in this niche would boost one’s confidence.
Your friend’s eyes dart to you again, and then your phone pings. You look at the link your friend sent you. It’s a referral code for a promotion. You turn to her, gaze still dripping with skepticism.
“Come on, just try it. You’re a lovely person and you deserve to see it for yourself! Boudoir photography might really help at not being constantly self critical.”
You weren’t an entirely insecure person, and you were sure of that. It’s just that, after the rough break up with your ex, and seeing them move on instantly (like two fuckin weeks) with a new partner, undoubtedly was a gut punch to your self esteem, while you were still stuck grieving over the lost relationship and wasted time.
You’ve heard of boudoir photography, but you’ve never actually understood the concept of it, considering that it was niche, and that you don’t really know the point of it. You glance down at the referral link before deciding to just fuck it and sign up.

San is working overtime again, meticulously editing and touching up the photos. It’s become a natural part of him to almost be a perfectionist, whether when on the ground taking photos of the model or the post editing process. But he never loses the sight of letting the women shine naturally through their photos. After all, in such a niche market, they picked him. Definitely, he has his mix of male boudoir models, but the women evidently take up a higher ratio. He understands that one of the most important aspects of boudoir photography is trust and comfort with his models, which has them coming back for more sessions, sometimes even with their partners.
Setting up his own business in such a niche market was difficult of course, and he’s grateful that he’s managed to make a name for himself. But sometimes he’s grateful that his good looks are an added bonus to drawing in his clients.
His email pings and it makes him pause his work. Maybe he should finish it tomorrow. San glances at the fresh email that sits in his inbox.
An appointment via referral.
He opens it, and looks through the client’s information. At the bottom box for comments, sits a short question.
[Just wondering, what should I expect for my appointment? Is there anything I should prepare?]
He takes a moment before he drafts a reply.
[Hey there! Nice to meet you. I’m Choi San, boudoir photographer of Woodie’s Studios. First of all, thank you for choosing our studio for your boudoir experience!
Regarding your question, come in with an open mind. For what to wear, you may bring a set of clothes/lingerie of whatever you feel confident in.
I don’t bite, I promise!]
He reads the reply a second time before he hits send. It’s not as if it’s the first time he’s gotten questions like these anyway. His train of concentration is broken, so he decides to call it a night.

You reach the opaque door of a clean-looking studio apartment. The sign has San’s studio name and logo imprinted on it, so you’re sure that you are at the right location.
You press the door bell and it chimes a lovely tune. There is a quiet pause, before the door handle clicks and the door itself pulls back. Before you stood a really, no, an insanely good looking, tall male. His glasses rest loosely on the bridge of his nose as his small eyes meet yours. His brunette hair is slightly messy. He wears an expression of confusion at first, but it turns into something unreadable. You think for a spilt second that he may have gotten the wrong client, but your rationale reminds you that you did send him photos of yourself so he’s able to recognise you. You blink once, then twice because you were starting to get lost at how handsome your photographer was.
“Choi San..?” you say, with a small tilt of your head.
Then it’s his turn to blink, and he snaps out of that small trance he seemed to be caught in for a few seconds. Then a smile tugs at the corner of his lips as he greets you.
“Hey! Y/n right? Sorry, was tryna recognise you. I promise I don’t usually take that long to process”, he chuckles, pulling the door wider as he ushers you in, reminding you to switch out your shoes for the apartment slippers.
The hallway San brings you down is brightly lit and spilt into a couple of sections which you assumed one of them would be the photo studio itself. A couple of posters of pin up girls hang on the walls, all of them beautiful and stunning.
He then stops at a glass door and pushes it, to what you assumed to be his office.
“Make yourself comfortable. I’ll get you a cup of tea. Any preferences?”, he gestures. You shake your head as you let yourself sink into the velvet couch, gingerly leaving your bag of clothing beside you. San gives a polite nod and excuses himself to the pantry.
And the moment the door shuts behind him, he tears his glasses off the bridge of his nose and hooks the branch onto his collar.
His hand is placed over his heart.
San has photographed many different women over the course of his career, some breathtakingly beautiful. But none has ever made his heart skip a beat and caused his words to be stuck at the back of his throat, not like you did. He doesn’t know what has gotten into him. It wasn’t like he didn’t know how you looked like—the pictures you sent served that purpose. Maybe it was the fact that he never expected you to look like that in real life, and for once, he almost doesn’t know how to react. His thoughts are all over the place as he paces into the pantry to prepare your tea. As he’s dipping the tea bag into the piping hot water, he begins feeling self conscious—was his hair too shrivelled? Did he smell bad? Was there something on his face? He tightens his grip on the mug and hastily makes his way back to his office.
San returns, with a smile on his face as he settles the cup onto the coffee table before you, and he joins you, seated on a velvet armchair across you.
“Take your time”, he reassures. “We can start after this, if you’re feeling comfortable, or we can just talk a little to ease your nerves.” It doesn’t take you much to think—you opt for the latter of course.
San laughs and nods. “I get that a lot, especially from first time female clients. It’s valid of course, having a male being your photographer for boudoir can sound off-putting. Perhaps looking at my portfolio might put you slightly at ease?” He reaches out for a large and thick leather-bound photo album. You let it rest on your lap as you receive it with a soft “thank you”, and flip the album open, and you’re instantly awestruck—San’s work spoke for himself. The models were diverse, both in nationalities and body shapes, all equally stunning and sensual in their own expressive ways. The only common denominator was the glint of genuine emotion and confidence reflected in their eyes.
You wonder to yourself—could you look and feel as confident as them? As you skim through the pictures, you feel yourself falling in love with the models as well—their genuine smiles when they do and the gazes they give.
When San catches himself staring at you being absorbed in admiring his portfolios, he feels his cheeks flush and he looks down, wondering what you think of it all.
“I see why you have so many clients. The pictures are gorgeous”, you say, shutting the photo album and handing it back to him. San flashes a sheepish smile and mutters a “thank you” loud enough for you to hear. The silence in the room remains a for awhile as you sip the tea, letting it calm your nerves. You don’t even know it but the person with actual jittery nerves was San himself, a feeling that he never expected to feel since the last time he did was when he started out this business three years ago.
“So… what’s the goal of being a boudoir model, if you don’t mind me asking? Like was it a long time thing you wanted to try or was it something spontaneous?” He asks to break the silence.
“I broke up with my ex recently”, you respond curtly, before taking another sip of the tea. Damn, this is some good ass tea. San blinks at your reply, unsure of what to make out of the bluntness. Before he attempts to reply, you continue, “and my friend sent me a referral to your studio, and I thought to myself, why not? I want to feel confident in my own skin. Also, I think it’s an interesting way of self exploration.” Your gaze meets his, and it’s his turn to look awestruck. You try to ignore the flutter in your chest when he laughs softly, when his smile reaches his eyes. It’s the way that he’s confident of his craft, and it’s making you warm up to him even more.
Your fingertips tap on the mug softly. Your gaze lands on the photobook once more.
“Does taking such risqué pictures affect you when you first started out?” You ask before taking another sip. San ponders about the question for awhile. He has people asking him that before, but for some reason, he wants to be slightly more transparent with you.
“I don’t see about my clients in a sexual way, even if they physically look appealing to me. In the end, self confidence and comfort always comes first, and I think that’s what I enjoy seeing in my clients when they become more comfortable in their own skin. People don’t understand how difficult it is to fully love yourself”, he replies.
That’s when you understand why San’s photography studio had so many recurring clients.
“Why boudoir? I think sensuality and intimacy is a form of art. It’s beautiful—watching people discover parts of themselves they never knew existed and falling in love. You don’t have to be conventionally attractive to be a boudoir model.
The money’s good, of course, but the satisfaction of watching my clients giving me feedback of them realising they deserve to love themselves more, or discovering other sides of themselves is nothing short of rewarding.”
By the time he’s done explaining, you feel a rush of confidence in yourself. It’s only been about ten minutes since the both of you just sat and talked, but you see that he definitely prioritises your comfort before he even begins the sessions. You ball your fingers into a fist, meeting San’s gaze with determination, telling him, “I think I’m ready.”
San’s eyes brighten up. “Great! You can use the bathroom to the left, and I’ll meet you at the photo studio just opposite the office.” He stands up, opening the door for you, and you bow slightly in courtesy as you head to the washroom to change. San’s heart beats faster, wondering what you’re gonna wear for the shoot.
San is fixing the sheets of the bed, then the studio lights at the perfect angle he wants it to be. His heart is still racing as he walks over to the tripod, glancing over at the door from time to time, awaiting for your arrival.
He perks up when he sees you walk in with a bathrobe on and he greets you cheerfully again, trying to hide his excitement.
You wave back with a smile, letting the environment of the photo studio sink in. The basic package for first timers consisted of a bed shoot, so it’s no surprise you see a bed in the middle of the room, covered in white. The bed looks comfy and you giggle to yourself, wondering if you’d end up falling asleep mid-shoot from how nice the bed looks.
“Anytime you’re ready”, San reminds you, carrying the tripod in one hand, his biceps flexing as he does, and it makes you blush slightly, which was ridiculous. Why are you swooning over your handsome photographer carrying the tripod with one arm? Suddenly you’re self conscious again, your fingers clutching against the black bathrobe. It was frustrating that you couldn’t pinpoint exactly what was making you nervous, but you weren’t about to back out.
San continues to adjust his camera on the tripod, and his gaze absentmindedly shifts towards you, and his breath gets stuck in his throat, watching you undress from the bathrobe, revealing a white button up over black lace lingerie. It’s not anything new, but for some reason he can’t seem to tear his eyes off you—the way the panties hugs your hips and the bra cups your breasts, the garter belt hugging your waist and the straps hanging past your panties. He watches you climb onto the bed, eyes shutting briefly as you sink into the mattress with a soft smile.
He’s not confident that he’s able to last through the shoot, not when you’re looking like that.
“Is it too cold here?” San asks, trying to divert his attention from his perverse thoughts. You pop up from the sheets, the collars of the shirt slipping past your shoulders, obviously too big for you. That does nothing to help him with his thoughts.
“No, I think the temperature’s okay. Shall we get started?” You ask, buttoning up your shirt, the white material pathetically sheer that San is able to see the black bra peeking through.
The sight of you in an oversized shirt on, with no pants, just your underwear on is like a meal for San’s eyes. He hides behind the camera to hide his flushing cheeks, only to face your body through the viewfinder, watching you preparing to pose as you position yourself at the end of the bed, turning your body slightly to the side with one leg up, your thighs in full view, with the sleeves of the shirt covering most of your fingers, and your gaze right into the camera lens.
San takes a deep breath. Forty five minutes. He can do this.
“Sure. Ready whenever you are, y/n.”
It turns out to be a very agonising forty five minutes. While the both of you were cracking jokes during the shoot, San finds himself getting more distracted when you gradually remove your shirt, and when your poses grow ever more risqué—at one point you remove your bra and fit your shirt over again, which definitely made San grow very restless when he’s unable to tear his eyes away from your bare chest.
Midway through the shoot, all that swarms his mind is wondering how your body would feel against his, how your bare skin would feel under his hands, what kind of faces you would make when you’re under him.
What kind of noises you would make for him when he fits his cock right into you. He wants to fuck you so hard that your mind goes blank—so good that you’ll never remember your ex.
San blinks, his finger still on the shutter button. He doesn’t know what washed over him, but what he does know is the taut feeling in his pants, and he internally heaves a sigh of relief that he decided to wear cargo pants. Nonetheless, he hopes that it isn’t obvious. Well, it shouldn’t be, as long as you don’t ask for close up shots.
“San! Could you come closer for my close ups?” You call out, letting the collar of your shirt fall off your shoulder once more, revealing your bare shoulders, and reminding him that you were still braless underneath the loose clothing article.
Fuck.
San forces a smile, unlatching his camera and trying to walk normally without letting his erection steal your attention.
He reaches to where you are, reminding himself to stay professional, but when he meets your playful gaze, all he wants to do is pin you down. Your eyes twinkle with allure as you prepare your next pose. You get it now—the confidence that slowly trickles into you after every photo taken. You’ve never realised that you had this side of yourself, not until now, and you love it.
The close up shots only spell another layer of doom for San—he adores the budding confidence that you exude, but it makes it even harder for him to hold back, watching you make sultry expressions and poses close up. Through the viewfinder, his eyes try to focus on taking the photo but he finds himself being entranced by your stare. He counts down, then taking a few shots, not missing the growing smile you had.
San puts his camera away, reaching forward to your face to remove a stray hair from your face, tucking it behind your ear, and his touch is warm on your face. It’s then you realise how physically close San is to you—you smell his cologne and it leaves your mind blank for a spilt second. He’s absorbed in fixing your hair, combing the strays off your face, the sound of his quiet breathing the only thing you hear. You look away, wondering if your heartbeat is loud enough for him to hear, and you hope it isn’t. San gives you a soft smile when his eyes finally meet yours.
He pulls back, preparing to take his camera for the next shot, but his leg gets tangled in the sheets.
Everything happens in a spilt second—his knee that shifts forward at first, pressing against the sheet that has unknowingly tangled around his other leg, then San trying to get up quickly with the tangled leg, realising a little too late by the time he falls right onto the bed.
Right onto you.
He almost squishes you. Almost. But he lands above you, supported by his elbows just in time before his body is in contact with yours.
Your heart races, way too quick for you to even process what just occurred. All knew you was:
One; San is right above you,
Two; his lips are hovering over yours,
Three; you feel something pressing against your pelvis.
And San stares down at you, his heart beating in his ears. He takes in the sight of you below him—eyes looking up at him through fluttered lashes, your heat radiating against his skin, your lips slightly parted in surprise.
As well as the strain in his pants when his eyes instinctively lower to your bare chest, your nipples peeking through your shirt, and that his little problem is just resting right on you.
“I’m sorry”, San whispers, breaking the silence that had hung between the both of you. “This usually doesn’t happen…”
You crack an amused smile. “Usually?”you reiterate teasingly. A tint of red flushes San’s cheeks and his clothed erection presses harder against your bare skin, and it makes you bite your lip.
“Fuck. I mean, this never happens. It’s just.. I’ve never felt this way about my boudoir models…”, he trails off. “I think you’re fucking stunning since you entered the studio, and I think you’re even more stunning now.”
Your heart flutters at his confession and this time, you feel yourself blush. A soft laugh escapes from the male above you when he sees you avoid eye contact from the shyness. His strings of rationale—yelling at him to stay professional—is snapping. He’s not lying. He’s never felt so attracted to any of his models before, until you, and now that he has you trapped under him, he doesn’t want to lose that chance.
“Should we end the session here?” San asks, with a quick glance at your pretty red lips.
Your fingers are playing with the dangling silver chain that he wears. He lets you, waiting for your response before he catches your gaze dances back to meet his again. Your hands shift to caress San’s jaw, and he takes it as a sign to make his move. You inhale softly as you feel his lips press onto yours, and it makes your head spin with glee. He tastes so heavenly, and your legs clench at the feeling that flutters between your thighs.
San slightly presses his body weight onto you, his erection only growing harder against your thigh. But it looks like he’s taking his time.
His fingertips warm your skin, and he lets them slip up your body, until he’s at your chest, barely covered by the sheer cotton material. His thumbs grazes against your nipples, and you gasp in between open mouthed kisses. You feel him smile, and he applies pressure, and the sensation goes right to your pussy.
He pulls back, watching your lip stick smudged, and your eyes dilate. You can’t help but feel entranced by San, and now you’re wondering how his face would look like when he falls apart.
And it makes you excited.
San lulls you back from your thoughts when you feel his lips suck softly against your neck, and now your fingers are playing with his soft locks of hair.
He’s slightly embarrassed at the way he’s growing even harder when he gingerly peels the white shirt away. His hands cup your bare tits, and he lowers himself to your left tit, giving it a couple of hungry licks and sucks, leaving your back arching and your mouth agape from how ticklish his tongue feels as he flicks your nipple. He doesn’t neglect the other nipple, giving it the same attention as he relishes in the way you fall apart for him. When he has his fun of sucking and making sure your nipples swell while you moan and tug his hair, he pulls away.
He sits up, pulls his shirt over his head and you’re left drooling at how chiseled his body looks. San unbuttons his pants and yanks it off, alongside his boxers, and you watch with awe as his cock springs out—hard and heavy against his abdomen. Your panties are tugged off you in no time, and you don’t miss the way his cock twitches when his eyes land on your slick covered cunt.
“You’re gonna be the death of me”, you hear him mutter before he collides his lips against yours once more. You squeal when you feel his fingers press onto your clit, giving it small rubs, watching and soaking your reactions—your whines and whimpers. There is a dull buzz in your mind every time your bundle of nerves get stimulated, and it builds up in your tummy.
“Oh god, you’re getting even wetter”, he sighs, his fingers completely soaked.
“It feels good. So good. Keep doing that”, you whisper, your fingers pressing against his arm. Your moans only grow louder as San picks up the speed on rubbing your clit, and it’s sending you over the edge way quicker than you wanted to.
San lowers himself to your head, and his husky voice vibrates in your ears.
“That’s it, keep coming undone. Let your mind shut off. You look so fucking beautiful like that.”
“San, San, fuck. I’m gonna cum. Oh fuck-“
Your eyes roll back as your orgasm washes over you, your body tensing as pleasure becomes the only thing you know. You barely catch onto the dirty things San is telling you, but you know he’s encouraging you to cum on his fingers like a good girl.
He makes sure he has your orgasm drawn out as long as possible, your mind completely blown out at that point. San sucks off your arousal on his fingers, before giving his cock a few pumps.
“You taste like heaven, babe. I’ll get a taste of that cunt soon, but right now, I really can’t wait”, San huffs, trying to keep himself composed as he slowly fucks his hand.
“San, hurry up, please. I need you, so fucking bad”, you whine, your fingers pulling your wet folds open for him.
His breathing goes heavy at your words. “Damn, the shoot really got you heated,” San teases.
“I can’t help it if my photographer makes me wet”, you reply with a playful smile.
Something seems to snap in San when he hears that—all he’s thinking about is wanting to drive his cock so deep into you that your mind completely blanks out.
So that’s what he does.
San lines up his cock to your entrance and pushes and inch in. His eyes dart to your face, licking the bottom of his lip when he watches your face contort into pleasure. His hands stroke your thighs as he pushes in a couple more inches, soaking in your broken moans as he stretches you out. He forces himself to stay composed despite the fact that you’re squeezing him with your warm and soft walls.
He manages to bury himself right to the hilt and he gasps at how perfectly fitted his cock is in you, an uncontrollable moan escaping his lips when he feels you convulse around his cock.
“San, you’re so big. I’m so filled”, you whimper through glazed eyes, his cock completely cutting off other senses as your thighs tremble. A smile tugs at his lips.
“I’m gonna fuck you now, pretty”, San tells you. Despite that, he waits for your green signal before he pulls out and drives his cock right into you.
Your mind switches off the moment his cock is fucking your pussy, because that’s all that matters. It’s so good. So fucking good.
His hands slither to your wrists, and has them pinned over your head as his cock pistons into you. You swear he’s driving you to be cock dumb by the end of this, but not like you fucking minded anyway.
“Look at you. Growing stupid over my cock already. So fucking adorable.”
You only nod in reply, biting your lip as his cock continues to render you speechless. Now San has completely flooded into the smallest crooks of your mind. San has his mind blank, his eyes darting from your fucked out expression to your bouncing tits.
Your cunt flutters once again and tears are pooling at the corner of eyes. The sounds of wet skin slapping echo around the studio.
“…wanna touch you”, you mutter. Despite the face that you loved that he was holding you down, you are feeling desperate to feel his skin as you dance on the fence of your orgasm. San releases your wrists, and he props himself better as he continues to pound into you, hitting the soft, spongy spot over and over again when he has your legs folded. When his pulls out, his cock is covered in a creamy mess. His head spins and his ego inflates at the thought him being the one who drove you to this point of mind blanking pleasure.
“No, no, I’m gonna cum again. So good. San!” His name leaving your lips as a whine. Your hands are gripping onto the loose unbuttoned sleeves of your shirt. His hands take yours and places them on his on his sides, and he groans at the way you’re clawing him.
“Shit. Fuck!” San curses when you cream on his cock even more on top of your walls hugging him tightly. You let go on his cock with a pleasured sob, legs twitching.
It’s not long before a long drawn out moan San releases as his warm cum completely floods your tight hole. He swears he wants to keep his cock tucked in your pussy because it feels that fucking good.
His face—oh, his fucking face when he orgasms. You barely recover from your second orgasm to watch San fall apart while he empties in your pussy, and it almost drives you to your third orgasm. Almost.
The both of you remain still for a moment, only breathing filling in the silence. Then, San slowly pulls out, watching the way his cum leaks out of your abused hole.
San pulls back, and he realises that he’s never seen a more beautiful sight—you, splayed out in nude, only covered by a measly white shirt that inevitably drives him crazy, with cum leaking out of your pretty hole while your body twitches against the white sheets.
He thinks that it’s a pity that his camera is out of reach, because it’s such a beautiful shot.
You glance at San with a shy smile as he hands you your panties. He hooks the your legs into the panties and pulls it up to your hips. You feel another load stain your panties while your thighs twitch.
San dresses himself quickly and extends his arm for you to take as he leads you off the bed. He knows he’s got extra work to wash the sheets but that’s the least of his worries.
What throws you off is when he pulls you into his arms and kisses your temple.
“I promise I’ve never done to any of my clients”, he reiterates.
“Unprofessional”, you tease, your hands sneaking up his shirt.
“Can’t fucking help it. I never knew fucking an Angel in my studio would be this exhilarating. It makes the thought of washing the bedsheets bearable”, he teases back, letting his fingers tangle in your hair.
Your mind goes completely blank when he tells you to wash out the loads in you, so he’ll fill you up once more when he brings you home, which earns him a slap on the chest. He gestures you to go change up, watching the way you remove your shirt to reveal your bare back, and he makes a mental note to start fucking you from behind.
Tumblr media
And back at his place, he does. His eyes are hyper focused on the way your ass bounces on his cock. A loud slap reverberates in his room followed by a whimper.
He stills in you, spilling his load once more into your abused cunt as you cream all over him once again.
Then he has you wrapped up in his arms, peppering you with kisses as you’re teetering off your high.
“Stay over, won’t you?”, San requests, tucking a lock of hair behind your ears. You’re beginning to feel completely enamoured by the male. You nod as you melt into his arms.
San thinks it’s ridiculous how hard and fast he fell for you, but he’s confident that you’re his favourite model, ever.

Unleash your confidence and embrace your beauty with boudoir photography
In a world filled with filters and fleeting beauty standards, it's time to reclaim your image and celebrate your unique beauty. Boudoir photography is an empowering experience that allows individuals to embrace their bodies, unleash their confidence, and create stunning art that showcases their sensuality. Whether you're planning a special gift for a partner or simply want to indulge in a personal experience, boudoir photography can be transformative.
What is Boudoir Photography?
Boudoir photography captures intimate, romantic, and often playful images of individuals, typically in a private setting. This genre of photography goes beyond conventional portraiture, allowing subjects to express their individuality and confidence. Many clients find the experience liberating and empowering, often leaving the session with a newfound love for their bodies.
Embrace Your Body, Celebrate Your Uniqueness
One of the guiding principles of erotic boudoir photography  is to celebrate variance in beauty. Boudoir photography reminds us that everybody is unique and lovely. Everyone, regardless of size, skin colour, or age, has the right to feel beautiful and secure. The carefully prepared ambiance and the photographer's experience contribute to a situation in which you may embrace and exhibit your originality. Boudoir photography may help you view yourself in a new way, overcoming self-doubt and embracing self-love.
The Perfect Gift: Boudoir Photography for Christmas
As Christmas approaches, many of us start thinking about unique and heartfelt gifts for our loved ones. Boudoir photography is one of the most thoughtful gifts you can give. Imagine gifting a beautifully designed album filled with intimate, stunning photographs that showcase your confidence and sensual beauty. Not only does it make for an unforgettable surprise, but it also allows you to express your love and vulnerability in a way that no material gift ever could.
When booking a boudoir photography session for the holiday season, be sure to inquire about boudoir photography packages that cater to your needs. Many photographers offer special seasonal deals that include hair and makeup services, styling assistance, and the option to create personalised products such as photo books or wall art. This Christmas, take the plunge and create an experience that will resonate with your partner for years to come.
A Boudoir Experience for Men Too
Boudoir photography isn't just for women. Men also deserve the opportunity to embrace their bodies and celebrate their confidence through the lens. Note
If you enjoy something in a sexual context then it is sexual.
Fucking itself, even if there isn't a sexual attraction, is sexual because sex itself is sexual.
this is true in the sense that that has to do with sex. But the word "sexual" itself has multiple connotations: to pretend that "sexual" does not also describe anything soliciting or involving *attraction* specifically is disingenuous. Most people, incorrectly, consider stuff like swimsuit ads and boudoir photos inherently sexual just because they can incite arousal in the viewer. Sometimes, these things *are* sexual because they were designed on the production end to incite arousal. Like, say, kink porn that doesn't involve any acts performed upon erogenous zones. Look at kink itself how it is defined: why is kink sexual? often it involves no sex at ALL. but it's sexual because you enjoy it sexually- it arouses you. So sexual clearly has two prongs: having to do with sex itself and having to do with arousal, attraction. Moreover, a nonsexual thing can *become* sexual when it involves attraction... and since lack of attraction (asexuality) is a thing, then people's experiences can also involve making a sexual thing nonsexual by lacking sexual desire while participating. A separation of the definitions in inherent to both sexual kink and nonsexual kink. So then, when you separate these two definitions, it makes sense to say "nonsexual kink" -- sex acts can be done without the implication of *sexuality*, as in attraction. This is a commonly established term upon discussion of asexuality both in our own communities and in press/ professional contexts such as sexual health studies where asexuality is acknowledged. And you could say, "but blackhole, that's still sexual because it has to do with sex!" but again, it's disingenuous to pretend the word "sexual" does not describe attraction. It's a completely valid use of the word "nonsexual" to separate attraction from sex acts. It has nothing to do with trying to desexualize kink, as some people say, but rather a description of a frequently asexual experience of kink. If you want another example of separating the *experience* of something from the positionality, just look at gender labels. Like say, AMAB agender. You could say, "being assigned male at birth is masculine", and it'd have the same meaning as "sex is sexual inherently", as in "these two things go together". But this is disingenuous, because assigned sex and gender are different things. The AMAB and agender parts of that statement describe different things, as does "nonsexual" and "kink". Nonsexual (not to do with attraction, experience term) kink (term describing positionality of act in society). Makes sense.

Book Blurb: Happy Endings author Thien-Kim Lam is back—with a rom-com set during the divine madness of Mardi Gras as two lovers ask: Can a Big Easy fling become the real thing?Boudoir photographer Josie Parks never ever takes a vacation. But when a client cancels a New Orleans shoot at the last minute, she decides to fly out from her Washington, D.C., studio anyway. Maybe the trip will reawaken her recently stagnant muse. After all, it’s Mardi Gras season…Spencer Pham has come home after twelve soul-sucking years in corporate hell to pursue his passion: making a docu-film on his family’s history as the first Vietnamese Mardi Gras krewe. The last thing he expects is getting whacked in the head by a beautiful woman trying to snag some parade beads.Over some beignets and coffee, Spencer and Josie connect over their artistic pursuits. He offers to show her the real New Orleans, if she’ll help him with the camerawork for his film. Despite Josie’s type-A personality clashing with Spencer’s laissez-faire attitude, they seem to make a great team, and soon, the good times are rolling both on and off camera. But Josie has a life in D.C., and they both have big dreams they’re chasing. When this Big Easy fling starts feeling awfully serious, can they find a way to choose between personal and professional passion?
Review:
One heck of a Mardi Gras Festival, a boudoir photography on vacation who accidentally hits  an up and coming film director while catching beads, and the beginning of a very cute romance. Josie Parks is a boudoir photographer who dreams about her working being in an art gallery. She never goes on vacation but when a client cancels last minute she finds herself in New Orleans on vacation... and decides to stay to find some inspiration for her work. Deciding to take in the festivities she wants to catch Mardi Gras beads... but ends up smacking a man with them instead. Cue, Spencer Pham, recently left his job at a soul crushing corporate place in order to pursue his passions of making films and he is going to make a docu-film about his family’s history as the first Vietnamese eMardi Gras krewe, unfortunately, or rather fortunately for him, he is then whacked in the head by the most beautiful woman he’s ever seen. Now Spencer and Josie find themselves bonding over the unlikeliest meet cute and their passion for art. Soon they are spending time together, eating, flirting, taking photos, and even meeting his family. But Josie’s stay has a deadline and things back at home in D.C. are calling for her, will Josie and Spencer make the big leap or is this a vacation only thing? Will their deep connection and passion survive? This was such a cute rom com read and as a Vietnamese person, it was so refreshing to have a Vietnamese male lead, and have so many Vietnamese elements and cultural aspects ( I adored Spencer’s grandmother, and they really hit it on the nail). Seriously, this was a sweet read and I would definitely recommend it!
*Thanks Netgalley and Avon and Harper Voyager, Avon for sending me an arc in exchange for an honest review*

Perfect Heat
Yooha x Reader. A couples’ shoot with Yooha takes a heated turn. Fluff and smut. NSFW.
You receive a video call, and when you answer it you see Yooha’s smiling face. “Master, I’ve got a modelling job for us. A couples’ shoot.”
You’re at home in your room sorting through your closet, trying to choose an outfit for the next Wannabe Challenge. “Hm? You found a job? For us?”
Yooha’s only just started modelling and he’s been living in the human world for about five minutes. He can’t have been offered anything amazing yet.
His grey eyes sparkle with reproach. “Tsk. You don’t believe me?”
“Oh, sure. But I probably don’t have time.”
A smile plays around his lips. “You’ll find time when I tell you who it’s for. Ever heard of Perfect Glow?”
Your eyes widen. Perfect Glow is one of the most exclusive perfume brands. They only use famous actors and models for their ads and the pictures are always stunning. “Are you serious? And they want both of us? That’s amazing!”
Yooha’s smile widens, confident and lazy now that he’s got your attention. It doesn’t really surprise you that he’s being offered modelling contracts that other men would kill for. The man is too handsome for his own good. “They’re launching a new perfume called Perfect Heat. I told them I’d only do it with you.”
Your eyes narrow in suspicion. “Did you use magic on them or something?”
He laughs, a musical sound that has you smiling and your insides fluttering. “Master, my magic only works for you. I’ll tell them we’ll consider it, then?”
You throw the dress you’re holding onto the bed. “You’ll tell them yes, right now.”
Yooha frowns. “You haven’t even heard what they want from us.”
Your heart is pounding at the thought of doing a couples’ shoot with Yooha, and one for the Perfect Glow brand no less. You’ve seen dozens of their ads and they’re intimate and stylish. “What’s there to think about? They’re a great brand and this is an amazing opportunity for you.”
Yooha still hesitates. “You should probably read over the brief. Think through it carefully. You might not have the, uh, experience.” He clears his throat and his gaze slides away from the screen.
Your eyes narrow. “Are you lecturing me about experience? Thanks, but I’ve been choosing my own work for a while now. I’ll call them myself and offer to do the shoot with someone else if you don’t want to.”
Yooha suddenly looks fierce. “No way. I’m not going to let do this with another man. But read over the brief before you—”
Let you. Please. “Accept the job. Bye, foxy.” You hang up and shake your head. Being flattered by a few brand execs has gone to his head.
A few minutes later you stop by the window and gaze out onto the street. A couples’ shoot with Yooha. An excuse to be close to him without giving him too many ideas about what you do and don’t want from him, because you’re still not sure. He’s hot, but he seems dangerous to fall for.
Working with him is safe, though, and pretending to be his girlfriend for a few hours sounds like fun.
***
Three days later
You stare in horror at the black corset and tiny pair of briefs that the photographer’s assistant is holding out to you.
“You want me to wear…these?” you ask in a horrified whisper.
The assistant frowns at you. “You did read the brief, didn’t you? It was all in there. The vibe for this shoot is boudoir. Sex. Danger.”
Yooha smirks at you from over her shoulder. “Of course she read the brief. She’s a professional. Aren’t you?”
You glare at him with so much heat you’re surprised his skin doesn’t blister. “I…forgot for a second. Sure. I’ll go get changed.”
She passes you a pair of eight-inch heels, and your stomach swoops. You’ve never even worn these sorts of things playing around in your bedroom, let alone in front of a dozen people.
And Yooha.
He eyes you with interest as wardrobe people flutter around him with various shirts, holding them up against his shoulders to see how they look.
Face burning, you disappear into your dressing room. There’s a make-up artist and hairdresser and they get to work on making you ready for the shoot. The whole time they work, you look nervously at the skimpy clothing lying on the sofa and fantasise about grabbing your handbag and running away.
Finally, they leave you alone to change and you wiggle into the corset and briefs and strap your feet into the high heels. Gazing in the mirror, you moans softly, “Yooha, what the hell did you get me into?”
There’s a rush of heat behind you, and then a low whistle. “Wow. I’m seeing a new side of you.”
You lunge for a robe to wrap around your body. “Knock, why don’t you!”
“Can’t knock when it’s magic. I can only obey. Wow.” He circles you slowly, his eyes running appreciatively up and down your body. “You look…hot.”
You hesitate, wondering if he’s making fun of you. “Um. I feel kind of stupid.”
He meets your eyes in surprise. “You do? Why?”
You glance down at yourself. Your breasts are pressed high and tight and the briefs are cut away to reveal your hips. Everyone’s going to laugh at you the second you step out of this dressing room. “Because I don’t ever wear stuff like this, dummy!”
He gazes at you reproachfully, and you sigh. “I’m sorry. I’m not feeling myself.”
Yooha’s in a long-sleeved shirt and black jeans. The shirt is unbuttoned down his chest, and the fabric is almost see-through, hinting at the muscles of his biceps. The makeup artist has darkened his lashes and swept his silver hair back. He looks incredible.
“At least one of us gets to wear an actual outfit,” you grumble.
He reaches out and taps you affectionately under the chin. “Don’t worry, master. We’re dressed up, playing a part. I’ve seen you do this so often.”
You think about this, and nod. “Yeah, you’re right.”
He folds his arms, gazing at you. “I’m glad it’s me with you, and not some other guy.”
You feel a smile tug the corner of your mouth. “I’m glad it’s you, too.”
The way he’s looking at you is sort of…nice. Not lewd. Just softly appreciative.
He helps you into the robe and takes your hand. “Come on. Let’s go and wait out there. Keep that robe on so you don’t get cold.”
As he leads you across the set, you notice him glaring at any of the male assistants who become distracted by the sound of your high heels and stare too long at you.
Ten minutes later, the photographer comes to talk to you both, camera brandished in his hand, and gives you directions. The butterflies in your stomach are whipped into a frantic storm when you realize you’re going to have to straddle Yooha’s lap.
You remove your robe and take up your positions, Yooha sitting on a chair and you across his lap, thighs spread. It feel so unnatural and your skin crawls with self-consciousness as you realize how many people are staring at you.
“Hey,” Yooha says softly, drawing your attention back to him. “I’m here. It’s just us.”
You take a deep breath and look into his eyes. Just him. Maybe you can do this if you pretend it’s just the two of you.
The photographer calls out to Yooha, “Pull her closer. Touch her some more. This is about heat. Perfect Heat.”
Yooha raises a brow at you. Asking for permission.
“That’s not a problem is it?” the photographer asks, an edge to his voice.
You nod, and Yooha slips his hands around your waist. Large, strong hands. You feel yourself getting lost in his silver eyes as the photographer snaps photos. You’ve caught this hungry expression on Yooha’s face before, but up close, it takes your breath away.
He angles his face as if he’s about to kiss you, and heat rushes through you, from the tips of your toes to your nipples. Your thighs squeeze his hips and you rock into him, begging with him with your eyes to give you what you need.
Just you and him.
Just like you’ve thought about so many times, even if you haven’t wanted to admit it to yourself. Your intense attraction to your housemate.
Yooha’s fingers brush the lacings of the corset at your lower back and you lick your lips, certain that he’s about to pull them slowly free.
“Your hair’s blocking the shot, move it to your other shoulder,” the photographer suddenly barks.
You jump and look around. A dozen pair of eyes are staring back at you dispassionately. Everything comes crashing down around you, and you jump to your feet. This is worse, because now everyone’s looking even harder at you.
“I’m sorry, I...” As you hurry back to your dressing room, tears prickling your eyes, you vaguely hear Yooha asking for a short break.
A few minutes later, Yooha comes quietly into the dressing room, holding the robe, but everyone else is still out there. Waiting for you.
“Are you all right, master?”
He holds out the robe, and you take it from him but you don’t put it on. “Were you acting out there?”
“Maybe. Maybe not. Which part?”
“The part where you looked at me like I was a persimmon and you’re a hungry fox.” If he’s not attracted to you, and everyone can tell and they’re currently out there laughing at you, you might crumple up and die.
He chuckles darkly. “I don’t have to pretend any of that, and if you don’t believe me, maybe that’s our problem.”
“What do you mean?”
His eyes grow dark with mischief. He comes toward you and plants a hand on the wall by your head. “What do you think?”
Instinctively, you reach up and splay your hands across his chest. He’s just so touchable that you wonder if he’s waving those pretty tails at you and dazzling your senses, but no. It’s just him.
His mouth dips toward yours. “Why don’t we try something?”
Your eyes are about to flutter closed. If he wants to kiss you, sure. That won’t be the craziest thing that happens today, and your whole body is practically begging for it.
Suddenly he picks you up in his arms and sits down with you on the sofa in his lap. His arms wrap around your hips and he hugs you tight against his body. He nuzzles your throat, planting kisses everywhere.
This is perfect now you’re alone, and you melt into him. A moment later, you feel something against your thighs and you gasp and look down. He’s…he’s hard.
“See?” he murmurs. “Not pretending.”
Your fingers curl through his hair at the nape of his neck. It feels amazing to be this close to him, but you have no idea what you’re supposed to do next.
As if reading your mind, he nips your lower lip with his teeth and murmurs, “Turn around. I’ll show you.”
Frowning, you do as he asks, straddling him in the other direction. Your ass is tucked against his hips. Before you realize what he’s doing, he’s lain back on the sofa, hooked his arms under your thighs and pulled you up the length of his body until you’re straddling his face.
Your hands press against his stomach. “Yooha! What the hell are you doing?”
“Giving my master her throne.” He kisses you, right over your clit through your underwear.
What the hell? you mouth to yourself. Your nails dig into his flesh, but you don’t move away. You’re locked in place, wondering what he’s going to do next.
Yooha draws your underwear aside and licks you with a long stroke of his tongue. Your eyes flutter closed and your head tips back. That feels all kinds of amazing. He licks you again, and then swirls his tongue against your clit. Your breath picks up and you start to moan.
Even as you get lost in the sensations, you feel flashes of self-consciousness. He can see everything. And can he breathe?
His hum of appreciation vibrates against your inner thighs. Yeah, seems like he can breathe, but this is such a bizarre position, and you feel more exposed than ever.
“Yooha, I don’t…ohhhh.” You break off and breathe in sharply, your eyes drifting closed for a moment. He’s making your insides feel golden and you suddenly don’t want him to stop. His tongue feels incredible, lapping at your sensitive clit, and it feels even better when he moves up to delve deep inside you. The man has a strong tongue and knows how to use it.
You lean forward and stroke the bulge in the front of his jeans, and your mouth waters. Acting rather than thinking, you unbuckle his belt and unzip the jeans. When you stroke the length of his cock through his underwear, Yooha’s hands tighten on your hips and he sucks on your clit. Lost in the haze of pleasure that washes over your body, you lean forward, push the waistband of his underwear down and run your tongue along the length of him. He feels good against your tongue, hard and hot and velvety on the outside. You want nothing more than to take him in your mouth as you lose yourself in what he’s doing to you.
And so you do.
You suck lovingly up and down the length of his cock, your eyes closed. You’re getting closer and closer to your peak and your mouth moves rhythmically. Beneath your body, you feel Yooha’s breathing deepen and his flesh heat up. Needing more of him, you press back against him, sucking harder.
Yooha groans and laps hard at your clit. Your body arches hard against his as you come, moaning around his cock. As the sensations pound through you, Yooha pushes his length deeper into your mouth, and you feel your mouth flood with liquid. Surprised, you swallow it down, musky and sweet and tasting like him.
A moment later, Yooha’s head falls back, and he pants for breath. “Fuck, master. You taste like a dream.”
You sit up slowly and look over your shoulder. He’s smiling lazily at you while you wipe your mouth, his fingers threading beneath your underwear to stroke your ass.
You turn around and straddle him, your hair cascading down over his shoulder. “Yooha. You taste even better.”
You press your lips against his as his arms come around you and crush you against him. There are too many clothes between the two of you and you tug at your irritating corset. You just want to be naked with Yooha. His tongue parts you lips and slides against yours, and with one of his knees raised you rub your pussy back and forth against his thigh. He’s everything you’re feeling right now. He’s your whole world.
Suddenly, there’s a knock on the door, and someone calls, “Break’s over in five minutes.”
You pull back in surprise, your eyes widening. You’ve forgotten completely where you are again.
Yooha mutters a curse and sits up, zipping up his jeans and buckling his belt.
Frantically, your pat down your hair and blot at your mouth. The makeup artist is going to be annoyed with you. Your lipstick has probably come off all over Yooha’s... You bite your lip and smile up at him as he smooths your hair back.
“Feel okay now, beautiful?” he asks.
You feel strange, but definitely more relaxed.
The shoot goes smoothly after that. It’s easier to focus on him and ignore everyone else around you.
Two weeks later when the ad starts appearing in magazines and on billboards, people comment over and over how good the two of you look together. It’s an amazing picture, the two of you looking deep into each other’s eyes with intense expressions, as if you’re both about to combust with need.
Even your barista recognises you both when you’re buying coffee with Yooha one morning, and she rushes to show everyone in the queue the picture of the two of you on her phone.
Yooha slings an arm around your shoulder and smirks. “Hasn’t she got a perfect glow in that picture? We really create that perfect heat.”
You shove him off with a roll of your eyes. His ego is getting so big, and the double meaning in his words makes you blush.
You head over to a table, and he follows. There’s still a smile on his face, but it’s filled with meaning. He glances at the oversize long-sleeved top you’re wearing. “Have you been getting chilly lately, master? The weather’s changing.”
You hug your arms around yourself as if the winter cold really is getting to you, and nibble at your thumbnail. Your mind is back on that sofa with Yooha while he licks you in all the places that feel amazing.
“Just call me if your get cold, master. I know how to heat you up again.” Yooha takes your thumb out of your mouth and kisses it. “And I miss your taste.”
You miss his, too. You watch him sip his coffee, wondering how early you can go to bed tonight without the others thinking its suspicious, and whisper his name in the darkness.

Clara Wolcott Driscoll: Tiffany Studios’ Brightest Light
“This is rather difficult work, but when one has a fondness for a certain brand of industry, she does not pause when a difficulty must be overcome.” -- Clara Wolcott Driscoll
This past summer the Munson Williams Proctor Museum in Utica, NY held an exhibition, “Louis Comfort Tiffany: Treasures from the Driehaus Collection.” The astonishing show featured Tiffany’s most iconic lamps, many designed by a woman whose name is largely forgotten now, Clara Wolcott Driscoll. The women who assembled Mrs. Driscoll’s designs were popularly referred to as “Tiffany Girls,”(1), and they worked under her in Tiffany’s Women's Glass Cutting Department. Driscoll was the designer behind many of the best well-known lamps to emerge from Tiffany Studios: Daffodil, Wisteria, Dragonfly, and Peony lamps (2).

Young Clara Pierce Wolcott
Clara Pierce Wolcott was born in Talmadge, Ohio in 1861. Her father, Elizur V. Wolcott studied theology and aspired to be a missionary but his poor health prevented that dream from becoming a reality. Instead, Wolcott became a farmer and teacher (3). Tragically, Wolcott died in 1873, forcing his wife Fannie to find work as a teacher in order to support Clara and her three younger sisters (3). Fannie Wolcott who had attended the Talmadge Academy was determined that her daughters would also receive an education. With her family connections, Fannie placed “Clara with relatives living near the excellent (and free) Central High School”(3) in Cleveland, Ohio.
During her time at Central High School, young Clara demonstrated a keen interest in the natural world, especially flowers. This interest was undoubtedly encouraged by naturalist, Harriet Louise Keeler who was an instructor at the school during that time (3). After graduation, Clara enrolled in “the Western Reserve School of Design for Women (now the Cleveland Institute of Art)”(2). Not much, however, is known about Clara’s time there.
Sometime after Clara’s secondary studies were completed, she had “taken a position as designer for C. S. Ransom and Company, a Cleveland-based manufacturer of Moorish-influenced fretwork panels”(3).
Clara Driscoll Joins, Departs and then Rejoins Tiffany Studios
In the fall of 1888, Clara left Cleveland and headed to New York City to continue her art education “at the then-new Metropolitan Museum Art School” (2). Not long after her arrival in New York Louis Comfort Tiffany hired her as a designer in his studio. At Tiffany Studios Clara “earned the intricacies of glass selection and cutting,”(3) but after only a year with Tiffany, Clara left to get married as was the law in New York at that time.  In 1989, Clara married Francis Driscoll who was thirty years her senior. In 1892 Mr. Driscoll died, and Clara, widowed, was rehired by Tiffany. Soon after Tiffany named Clara to head the Women’s Glasscutting Department (3). She had excellent managerial skills with an aptitude “for realizing a great profit from lamps and fancy goods”(4). When Clara took over the glasscutting department six women were working under her, eventually the staff would grow to thirty-five strong. These women earned the nickname “The Tiffany Girls”(5).

Challenges Faced by Clara Driscoll and the Women Working at Tiffany Studios
The women in her department selected the glass for the shades, “cutting the individual segments using templates, and wrapping them with copper foil”(5). The men would assemble the lamps by attaching the glass pieces to molds and soldering the copper foil edges together.
Over time rivalries developed between the men and the women workers. Men were “making windows, mosaics, and leaded shades” while the women for a time were relegated to only glass cutting. The men belonged to a union that “did not admit women,” so the women could not enjoy the same benefits as the men. Tiffany, however, paid his male and female employees equally which angered many of the men (5). “In 1903, the men threatened to strike in order to take away the women’s right to make windows”(5). Tiffany refused to meet the union’s demands but agreed to limit “the number of women in Driscoll’s department at 27”(5).
Mrs. Driscoll, herself became frustrated with faced staffing issues in the Women’s Glasscutting Department. Since married women were barred from employment Driscoll, would invest in developing a young talent only to lose the young woman to the wedding altar (5).
Clara’s Mystery Engagement
Mrs. Driscoll had also considered remarrying sometime between 1896 and 1897; she became engaged to Edwin Waldo the brother of artist George B. Waldo, one of Driscoll’s friends. While on route to meet his potential future in-laws in Ohio, Edwin inexplicably disappeared. No one heard from him for five years. Possibly due to the painful nature of this episode, Mrs. Driscoll never referred to it in any of her writings (3).
Clara Driscoll’s Major Works for Tiffany
During 1896 “Clara began experimenting with lamps”(5). Along with “Tiffany designer Agnes Northrop and fellow Cleveland art school classmate Alice Carmen Gouvy (also hired by Tiffany), Mrs. Driscoll designed the innovative Flying Fish lamp and Deep Sea mosaic and glass-jeweled base”(2). In addition to lamps, she designed “desk and boudoir accessories, often in combinations of glass, bronze, and mosaic”(3).
Driscoll drew her inspiration for her iconic lamp designs upon her life-long passion for and study of nature. Based upon information Driscoll shared in one of her letters, the daffodil lamp was her first important lamp design in 1900. That same year her design for the dragonfly lamp, “won a prize at the 1900 World’s Fair,”(6) that design, however, had long been credited to her boss, Louis Comfort Tiffany (6). The stunning wisteria lamp has also been attributed to Clara (5).
Clara Driscoll’s Later Years
In 1909 Driscoll left Tiffany Studio for the final time to marry Edwin Booth. While marriage ended Mrs. Driscoll’s professional career, she continued designing -- this time the product was colorful silk scarves. Edwin retired from his job managing an import business in 1929 just as the Great Depression struck, and the couple spent the remainder of their years in Florida. Their marriage would last thirty-five years until Clara’s death in 1944 (3).
Clara Driscoll’s Design Legacy
Clara Driscoll’s real role in Tiffany Studios went largely forgotten. When the company folded “in 1932, all the records were lost”(1). In 1953 when her sister Emily died, a trove of letters between the two sisters was discovered. It was not until almost 40 years later, however, that the letters were recognized by scholars when one of Driscoll’s relatives “Elizabeth A. Jones Yeargin transcribed a sampling from the letters for her work…self-published as a bound typescript titled The Pierce and Wolcott Letters”(3).
During Clara Driscoll’s career about thirty “or so lamps believed to have been designed by or created under”(6) her direction. These included “the Wisteria, Dragonfly, Peony, and from all accounts, her first — the Daffodil”(2). One Wisteria Lamp sold for $492,500 on December 14, 2017, at Christie’s in New York (7).  Driscoll’s lamps are held in the collections in the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York and in numerous museums throughout the world. In recent years, numerous exhibitions of Tiffany lamps that featured Driscoll’s works, like the recent show in Utica, NY,  have been held. The first to specifically acknowledge her contributions to Tiffany Studios was the New-York Historical Society 2007 show, “A New Light on Tiffany: Clara Driscoll and the Tiffany Girls.” Also that year, a book of the same title by Martin Eidelberg, Nina Gray and Margaret Hofer was published, and in 2011 Susan Vreeland published her historical novel Clara and Mr. Tiffany, based on the relationship between Mrs. Driscoll and Louis Comfort Tiffany (1). It may have been a long time coming, but the world is beginning to recognize the design genius of Clara Wolcott Driscoll.

Oh that sounds amazing!! What’s the idea behind the OG story if you don’t mind me asking??
And of course!! I’m always looking to talk and meet new people ❤️
The story is called Golden Hour and is a combination of my favorite tropes. I also drew on inspiration from someone I know personally who is actually a tattoo artist and professional photographer!
My female OC, Mara, is a monthly regular at the tattoo studio with the same artist each month. My male OC, Levi, is the artist she works with and Mara and Levi have become friends throughout the years. She just got out of a breakup and Levi, the sweet soul he is, offers to do a photoshoot with her to boost her confidence and cheer her up, and so he can add them to his portfolio.
As of right now, I have a rough draft written through the beginning of the boudoir photo shoot.
Originally it was a Steve Rogers reader insert but again, I changed it. I felt like the story was amazing but I was struggling with fic at the time.

Creative Tips From 20 Inventive Women Photographers (And One Man) You Should Be Following
A brain is a fascinating thing. As an artist, every piece of information added to your brain today influences all future decisions and creations. So it stands to reason that a regular brain-diet of similar influences with the usual solutions to indistinguishable circumstances is a recipe for mediocrity.
The Importance of Diversifying Your Influences
Homogeneity simply doesn’t lead to invention and innovation. Which is why I’ve always found it so peculiar that the photography industry pushes back so hard when anyone mentions the well-documented imbalance towards male representation in nearly every mainstream professional outlet. Having been a working artist my entire life in multiple fields, including decorative and fine art, it was always an accepted practice for my peers to seek inspiration from diverse sources. This included looking to other artists with different backgrounds, cultures, experiences, eras, and even mediums. For example, a painter can be dramatically influenced by the work of an architect or sculptor or poet, even though the mediums differ significantly. Our life experiences drive us and direct our decisions, so exploring the work of another artist with radically different life experience can open up a world of ideas, which can then inspire entirely unique ideas and concepts. With that said, here is a group of diverse women photographers (and one man, wink) who are thinking outside the box and exploring unconventional methods and ideas in their work. Each artist is at different points in their careers, some in their first years, and others many years into the profession, but they’re all pushing the medium in exciting ways. Putting this collection of work together has been illuminating to me, and I hope you will find some inspiration here too.

I made this series by incorporating one gel and ambient tungsten light! I toyed around with preset filters in post-processing to increase contrast and touched up details in Photoshop.
Stephanie Kotaniemi: Website | Instagram
When I set out to shoot this I was in a creative rut and was just looking to try something new. Mirrors and prisms didn’t seem to give the distorted effects I was going for. I started searching my house for things to shoot through and on a whim grabbed a kitchen glass. The curved part of the glass provided a very distorted effect while shooting through the bottom produced some really fun light fragments.
Allyse Francis: Website | Instagram
I get inspired by books and paintings of the fantasy genre. There’s something fascinating about creating a world that’s surreal and beyond the norm. When creating GIFs and cinemagraphs it’s important to try to draft what you want to do and have a plan. At the same time, it’s equally important to be flexible and to remain open to changes, because what you have in your head may not always translate into what you’re trying to create.
Maxine Wallace: Website | Instagram
Having a strong connection with my subjects is the most important thing to me. Whether its a stranger on the street, a beautiful bride, or a fabulous drag queen, my goal is to be able to capture what makes them beautiful and reflect it back at them. For The (drag) Queens Of Indy, I used a mix of natural and continuous light. I always try to shoot from a low angle or at a face to face level with my subjects to make them seem larger than life.
Kesha Lambert: Website | Instagram
Wedding and people photographer. I love movement, personality, and interesting light. I aim to use the entire scene in front of me where possible. I push the proverbial envelope and take a fair amount of chances with the goal of creating something captivating.
River West:  Website | Instagram
My artistic process is a collaboration of my own experiences and ideas blended with each of my clients’ personalities and vibe. I enjoy not being 100% married to a certain idea of how I want something to turn out and letting things evolve more organically. I honestly feel that when I’m totally in charge of a moment, that can rob the photo of a certain level of authenticity. So I always appreciate the unexpected or the un-choreographed when it happens in front of my lens.
Marlies Hartmann: Website | Instagram
This was my first time attempting a double exposure. It was made in-camera for a couple visiting from Hong Kong. I wanted to make an image that reflected both their relationship but also reminded them of the location where we shot their engagement photos. I love how it looks like her love is radiating out of her and into him.
Meagan Irene Abell: Website | Instagram
I discovered the magic of cinemagraphs and gifs in 2014, and after creating my first one, I was completely and utterly infatuated with the art of it. Meagan makes gifs was a project born of that love, as an expression of something a bit more ‘lifelike’ than your average photograph.
Brenda de los Santos: Website | Instagram
I am primarily a family portrait photographer and also shoot a limited number of weddings, some boudoir, etc. But what I am passionate about is taking a child’s fantasy and empowering them with it. For this Black Panther themed Dora Milaje shoot, we worked at a local waterfall, used OCF, and had to do some MAJOR photoshop work to take a New England waterfall and make it look like the scenery of Wakanda.
Tay Daliese: Website | Instagram
One way I try to set my work apart from others is by posing against the space I’m provided. I really try to draw on the use of leading lines, negative space, and composition. I want my subjects to stand out. When I see a space, I may take a photo of the space with nothing in it to help me line up what I see. From there I incorporate either movement, lines, or try to figure out how I can make what I’m doing stand out.
Annalise Kaylor: Website | Instagram
I made this image in 2016 while out at Nelson Ghost Town, just outside of Las Vegas, Nevada. In the middle of nowhere, Nelson has all sorts of interesting left behind objects – old cars, old windmills, old busses and campers, and even this left behind half of a plane. I positioned the prism diagonally across the left side of my lens, bringing into the reflection of the rock and a bit of a tree. I wanted her to seem like an apparition left behind from the crash but I didn’t want to do a double exposure, so the prism allowed me to get that.
Brandi Potter: Website | Instagram
This is a shot I had tried several times before actually nailing it the way I wanted it. It didn’t quite work with wedding dresses because you couldn’t see the brides legs, so at Chan and Kevin’s wedding, I took the opportunity again. I sent them up a small hill and told them to jump and pretend like they were running when they did so.
Toni Shaw: Website | Instagram
I have been captivated by the arts since I was in elementary school, beginning my career as a fine and graphic artist. I was introduced to photography while in college learning film, but the interest in photography did not hit home until the birth of my daughter. My goal is to show new and old that you can be successful as a photographer, using what you have.
Leslie Gomez: Website | Instagram
I am a portrait photographer who specializes in Maternity and Seniors but will shoot anything. I love light and shadows, I love shooting in the studio or on location with OCF.
Irene Wesee: Website | Instagram
My work includes bold colors and cultural inspirations from Africa. I’m best known as being resourceful and will create an image in any setting while being able to manipulate natural light to create the mood. I also create clothing for clients on set (especially for maternity sessions).
Krisandra Evans: Website | Instagram
My wedding photography mentor always encouraged me to find different angles; to get the shot that the guests couldn’t get. That leads me to photograph in a 360 way. Place the couple and shoot them from all the angles which can also look like stalking. BUT! It also allows me to create something that no one else might see like shooting through a decorative glass wall… the glass wall to the restrooms! Yep, the toilets, but it looks like underwater or rain and with the overhead recessed light, it was just perfect to create a piece of art.
Ore Adesina: Website | Instagram
I love incorporating different types of available light into my creative photography sessions. It’s like a surprise bag and you never know what you are going to get. While on a creative shoot, I was photographing a male model with blush angel wings. I noted a light hanging from the ceiling inside the building. Even better, the light looked like a “halo.” I moved the model directly under the light for a “halo” effect and then positioned his body to raise his hands up in a position of supplication.
Elissa Rinehart: Website | Instagram
This was made using a combination of a battery-powered DJ light (a $12 portable toy), long shutter speed, instructing the subject to move or stay as still as possible (depending on the photo), and two other off-camera flashes firing with blue and pink gels.
Veronica Varos: Website | Instagram
I sat this beauty beside a very large open window in an otherwise dark studio with white walls. Outside of the studio, there was a red sign, a blue car, and a bare tree. The sun was high in the sky and there was no direct light. I twisted and turned the crystal prism in different directions in front of my 50mm f/1.4 lens to find the perfect beams of colorful lights.
Amanda Summerlin: Website | Instagram
Sometimes I’ll sneak a couple away during dinner to make a few creative images after dark. The grooms had asked to make a photo with the kettles at the brewery, so I set up a flash behind them with an orange Magmod gel and grid, draped them with the LED holiday lights, and then asked them to just take a moment to reflect over their day.
Kevin Lowery: Website | Instagram
For this image, I used a prism, held parallel to the ground right in front of the top 3rd of the lens. To get that bending/curve effect I slowly turned the prism forward while keeping it parallel to the ground. When I do this I usually opt to go for black/white because it can make some pretty trippy rainbow colors. Sometimes it works well and other times it’s distracting.
