Online Training vs. Classroom Training: Which One is Better?
Tumblr media
In today's fast-paced world, professionals are constantly seeking ways to enhance their skills and stay competitive in their respective fields. When it comes to professional development training, individuals often face difficulty in choosing between online training and classroom training. Both options have their merits. But, understanding the differences between them can help you make an informed decision that aligns with your learning preferences and goals.
Tumblr media
Let's find out the right path for your Online professional development training!
Online Professional Development Training: Convenience and Flexibility
Online training, also known as e-learning or distance learning, offers unparalleled convenience and flexibility for busy professionals. With professional development training online, you have the freedom to learn anytime, anywhere, as long as you have an internet connection. This flexibility makes it ideal for individuals with hectic schedules or those who prefer to learn at their own pace.
Moreover, online training eliminates the need for commuting to a physical location, saving you valuable time and money. Whether you're a working professional, a busy parent, or someone with mobility restrictions, it allows you to access high-quality professional development training from the comfort of your own home or office.
Another advantage of online training is the wide range of courses and programs available. Be it technical skills or soft skills, online training platforms offer numerous courses to meet the needs of professionals across industries. Additionally, it often provides access to interactive multimedia content, quizzes, and assessments to reinforce learning and track progress. Classroom Training: Interactivity and Collaboration
On the other hand, classroom training offers a more traditional learning experience characterized by face-to-face interaction with instructors and classmates. Classroom training provides an opportunity for immediate feedback, personalized instruction, and collaborative learning experiences that its counterpart may lack.
In a classroom setting, you may ask questions, engage in discussions, and participate in hands-on group activities. This level of interactivity can deepen your understanding of course material and foster connections with peers and instructors. Hence, enhancing the overall learning experience.
Additionally, classroom training often appeals to individuals who thrive in structured environments and prefer the accountability of attending scheduled classes. For some learners, the physical presence of an instructor and classmates can provide motivation and encouragement to stay focused and committed to their goals. Making the Right Choice for You
Ultimately, the decision between the two depends on your individual preferences, learning style, and professional goals. Some professionals may prefer the convenience and flexibility of professional training online. Meanwhile, others may thrive in the interactive and collaborative environment of classroom training.
Before making a decision, consider factors such as your schedule, budget, access to technology, and the specific skills or knowledge you wish to acquire. Additionally, take advantage of free trials or demo courses offered by online training platforms. Examine their learning interface and instructional approach.
Regardless of which option you choose, investing in professional development training is a valuable investment in your career success. Whether you opt for professional development training online or classroom training, the important thing is to commit to continuous improvement.

In exciting news I finally found and was accepted to attend a seminar that I'm super excited for! It's a four day introduction to service dog training. It has a robust agenda and will cover a lot including laws, temperament selection, foundational skills, mobility tasks, scent based tasks, hearing related tasks, psychiatric tasks, and various public access skills.
Really grateful to my boss for this gift. I'm so looking forward to this opportunity to learn more and expand my skills. And even more excited to have more skills and information with which to help others.

question: when you're starting a new job, what do you most want out of your first week of onboarding? what's most helpful for you to know/understand upfront? also... what's not helpful? tell me your onboarding nightmare stories too lol
#i honestly do not ever think i've had a positive onboarding experience#in my entire professional life#i guess for me a lot of my early-job anxieties are around expectations and 'rules'#like i want to know what time i'm supposed to be there and what time i'm allowed to leave and what the dress code is#and how the hybrid schedule works#so i don't make dumb mistakes right away#i also think i want to be involved in the real work as early as possible#like i don't have to be DOING anything yet but i want to be watching people do things and shadowing in meetings#so i can start to develop a sense of who's who and what the actual work of the office/workplace looks like#and also because i really value getting a feel for personalities as early as possible lol i want to know what the vibes are#hmm and also maybe most importantly#i feel like in any new situation i need a very loose conceptual framework to hold the new information being given to me#otherwise it's just random pieces of info you know? like it's helpful when someone is actively helping me fit information into a frame#like they're saying 'here's the HUGE picture - now let's zoom in and start looking at this one corner of it - and as we add new corners#i'll actively help you fill in the connective tissue that holds these different parts of the big picture together'#hmmm#my worst onboarding experiences have been when the person training me comes in and throws lots of#long complex extremely context-dependent documents or readings at me#and is like ok spend the week reading those and get back to me#and i'm like ??????????#i have NO understanding of what my role is or how this organization functions#at this point it is not helpful for me to pass my eyes over tons of dense info without a guide to tell me what's important#i have no way of gauging of something is important or trivial and then i feel stressed like i have to learn ALL of it#even though i know that a huge portion of it will end up being not that relevant to my day-to-day job

Posts I've seen in just the last week:
AO3 is one of the most visited sites in the world
It's ok if your fanfic [that you're writing for free in your spare time] is unfinished! You do you!
How very dare these WGA writers not finish writing my stories for me [that they spend full work days every day working on] just because they don't get compensated fairly for their paid labor and decided to go on strike?
Respect unions! Unionize your workplace! Respect picket lines!
Posts I have not seen ever but maybe it's just me ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ :
AO3 would not exist without the paid writers who are currently striking. You would have no stories to write fanfic of. The entire world your fic exists in was created by someone else's labor.

Advanced SAR: Abortion
As professionals in the sexuality field it is rare for us to experience training on abortion unless we seek such training. A focus on pregnancy and sexuality is common in our training which leaves gaps of information, how to offer support, education, understanding of therapeutic interventions, and identifying our own biases regarding abortion. This SAR is created for those supporting pregnant people seeking abortion services who wish to go deeper into their own perceptions, biases, knowledge, areas of growth and expansion. Discussions and images of pregnancy, medical tools and procedures, medications, state and federal laws, anti-abortion rehetoric, violence, and praxis may be included. Participants are individually contacted to confirm participation. This SAR is presented using reproductive and disability justice frameworks.

How can i speak english fast?
Practice regularly: The more you practice speaking, the more comfortable and confident you will become. Find opportunities to speak English with others, such as joining a conversation group or practicing with a language exchange partner.
Listen and imitate: Listen to native English speakers and try to imitate their pronunciation, intonation, and rhythm. This will help you develop a more natural sounding speech pattern.
Use filler words: Filler words such as "um," "uh," and "like" can give you a little extra time to think and help you avoid long pauses or awkward silences.
Speak in short sentences: Start by speaking in short, simple sentences and gradually build up to longer, more complex sentences as you gain confidence.
Use contractions: Using contractions can help you speak faster and more naturally. For example, say "I'm" instead of "I am" and "don't" instead of "do not."
Remember, speaking fast should not be your main goal. It's more important to focus on clear communication and being understood. With practice and persistence, you will become more fluent and confident in your English speaking abilities. world of the best learning institute. please visit: https://10minuteschool.com/

local man once generously described as “a new accordionist in town” by local klezmer musician kinda fucking bad at accordion
#in my defense it's not like i've ever had formal training (or any training at all lol)#my accordion has one button (middle c) marked out so you can use that to orient yourself#accordion is arranged in the circle of 5ths -- so F C G D A E...etc#the thing that's giving me a lot of trouble is going from Fmaj to Amaj#i had a stroke of using my brain and put tape on the a chord so i would be easily able to locate it by touch#and that def helps!#the other thing is that i have absolutely zero hand independence -- as in i can't play with both my right and left hands simultaneously#this hasn't been a problem with any other instrument -- though with string instruments it's not like your hands are rhythmically unsynced#i never played anything super complicated on piano but i didn't have trouble playing like quarters with my left and eights with my right#bc that's a very simple rhythm -- but on accordion i basically can't do it!#idk if it's a specific quirk of the accordion -- there's def a lot of differences#you can't see your hands for one. also on the left hand both your fingers and your wrist is moving#though literally in just one smooth motion lol -- but nvtl it's an extra variable#it's also possible the necessary skills were damaged in a seizure#it might be a combo of both factors! but i am doing exercises to try and desync the hands#also to clarify this isn't self-deprecating or anything i'm upset about#i would definitely like to develop my accordion skills but this is just for fun -- i have no goals of being a professional accordionist lol#i just think it's kind of funny -- people are always like 'wow it's so cool you play the accordion!'#and i'm like Yes i ''play'' the accordion. revel at my coolness#tomorrow i'm playing my first klezmer concert! excited :)))

Hey Dogblr,
Who are some of your favorite professional teaching trainers?
My boss very generously gifted me an all expenses paid seminar of my choice (within the US) and I'm a little overwhelmed.
Topics I'm most interested in are:
Agility - specifically footwork for the handler
Training Service Dogs - specifically psychiatric
Engagement/Confidence - bonus for play rewards
Thanks in advance for suggestions of trainers to look at!
