Just read your posts about the new SL ragnarok manhwa and, honestly i think this is a discerivce to the novel since all of the aspects that you have ranted about are not as present in there as they are in the manhwa.

For example you said suho isnt like what jinwoo was on the first chapters. And you are right, Suho in the Ln didnt fight the possesed hunters but rather he had to rescue civilians while dealing with possed unawakened people who acted like zombies. They were many but they were far far weaker, and even there he didnt fully succed in helping everyone since time wasnt on his side at all. His fight there even ended with him being almost killed by a wolf until Beru swooped in to save him. And the rest of the chapters as well, Suhos less of a prodogy and more of a tactiful guy trying to get out of insanely dangerous situations. In a sense he is weak but instead of rapidly getting stronger, he gets more creative with the way he is going to win his fights.

Also Suhos backstory in the novel wasnt... supposed to appear until much later. In the first chapters his personality is meaner (tho still funny) because he just got word that his parents are in fact alive and from then on his only focus is getting strong. Its not until some chapters later (due to two events that I wont spoil) that Suho's own turmoil about the loss of his parents is shown and how that affected his personality as well as the relationship with the rest of his family.

(btw when i say long i really mean that most of these is supposed to appear 100 chapters later, and I mean I get showing it now would be good too. BUT THEY DIDNT! THEY DIDNT PUT ANY EFFORT IN SHOWING IT! They just brough in some points with NONE of the weight and context that the light novel had set upon and decided to COMPLETELY CHANGE other things as well!! I could go on a rant of the changes the horrible pay offs but look at this wall of text, its big enough as it is.)

As for the telling and showing, they could have done so SO well with the showing seeing that daul takes a lot of time to extend his characters (like a lot lot), helping to show their personalities through actions could have crammmed in more of an impact to the relationships in SL ragnarok as well, the best example i can get right now is how they executed Dogyun and Suho's interaction, even with some changes thrown, and others cut, the scene was nice because 1)faithful to the story and their characters (in this case dogyuns own problems that werent shown in the manhwa but were in the ln) 2)we got to see the panels of Dogyun hesitating, him deducting about the fight, the extra scenes where hes not trying to leave suho behind. i think these scene was adapted well. I could say the same for the fight with the goblins where it did show new scenes but still relied on suho being his tactiful self like in the novel.

Oh boi did i need to get this out from my chest. and I hope i didnt come of as mean in any of this, im mostly just frustated at the adaptation (even if i still love it) its just that i was having so many expectations considering how the light novel was on its focus of characters, and yeah i can get 'oh this is what happens to all adaptations' and 'they are taking creative liberties because its hard to adapt a book to a webnovel' but one thing is 'I will change the fight to make it cooler or leave out introspective dialogue of the characters bc you cant fit it in the manhwa in any form' and another is 'I will actively change two of the most important key points of the story, kill a character that is very crucial to the next arcs, give the characters op skills that arent supposed to appear until FAAAR later, and decide to make him op by himself instead of relying on those around him and on other external factors because the whole point of Suho is that he ISNT solo leveling, he isnt walking this path alone and--- considering his affection to help others even during very difficult desicions where he could just grab all the op stuff for himself but no--- he doesnt walk this path alone, he is leveling up but so can others to protect the state of the world out of their own choice (which is something jinwoo didnt want because he wanted everyone to be rid of the strugles he went through, and both thoughts are valid imo). He is walking this path not to overtake his father's struggles but to walk alongside him, and to let him know he truly isnt alone as he thinks he is. This fucking novel I swear---

🐔Chica: ⚔: Skilled with weapons, and more been a prodogy of fighting. But also good at aiming and shooting granade bombs. 👊: A prodogy of many fighting styles, like; taecuondo, karate, capoeira, boxing, kick boxing. To a point she made her own style with all of them.

🐺Roxy: ⚔: Uses more her weapons and strategy, specially white weapons. Her cuts are agile, living really pronounced scars. 👊: In this case she depends of her bite, speed and claws, and allways trys to attack from the back of the enemy. Also bery stealthy.

🐊Monty: ⚔: He uses mostly his impact weapons like his spiky club, and uses machete to give a final blow. He has amaizing aiming with his fire weapons. 👊: Full raw brute strenght, uses all his body + his powers to demolish or stun the enemy. But in life or death situations, he will use his feared bite to end the fight.

🌞Sun: ⚔: Uses more his shield and hammer, and doesn't have the best aim out of the twins, since he gets nervious when he shots the gun. 👊: Agile with his blows, and quiet fexible, doesn't use it much but helps him in the fight.

🌜Moon: ⚔: Uses his spear, giving powerful slashes to the enemy, and calmer and cooler when using their gun and his gunbow. 👊: Agile, acrobat and felxible, allways uses this in his advantage, and confuse or scare the enemy in the proces, along giving bery painful blows.

🕷Dj Swing MM: ⚔: Usually a shooter with his shutguns and sniper rifle, but talented with his other weapons, but only uses them when is drastically necesary. 👊: He is a prodogy boxer, and his blows are serious stuff, can demolish a whole wall or demolish an robot minion in one or two blows.

🌙🐱Linx: ⚔: Agile and uses her weapons mostly in distance from the enemy, prety much Scorpion or Kratos style thanks to her swadow whips. 👊: Uses only her legs to attack, and her kicks are serious stuff, one kick and fully brokes your bones to small shards. Also fully aerial in the fight thanks to her jumps. Also uses more water style fighting.

☀🐱Felix: ⚔: Only uses his weapons when is really necesary, sepecially his heavy weapon. 👊: Uses his contortionism for his fighting, and dance moves to attack. 🦾: Thanks to his custom protesis. He can do what he used to do. But also likes to ditache his arm and have longer range attack.

🌸🦊Tsune: ⚔: Uses all hear weapons and do combos. 👊: Fast and no stop untill the enemy is down, mostly uses kun fu, tai chi.

🛠🐰Lilif: ⚔: Not a fighter, but only uses her weapons when she is trheathened. 👊: Depends a lot of her powers whew is "fist to fist".

☠🦊Foxy: ⚔: An skilled worrior, mostly uses his hook and struty swords. even been really old, he can still bring a fight. 👊: Agile and study the movemnts of the adversary or enemy. 🦾: Uses his hook, and metalick claws with no mercy. Also, his leg can turn in a minigun.

Some stuff for my AU, DELTASOULS (info all the way down)

So, this AU is basically Soul Eater, expects the Deltarune characters are in it. It’s mostly nonsensical, because it’s supposed to take place during the canon evens of the universe, but there are Deltarune characters who are deathscythes, which shouldn’t be possible.

Anyway, the three teens are the main characters, Kris and Susie are 17 and Ralsei is 16. Kris is the weapon meister for the two, with Susie being an axe and Ralsei being a magical lantern. They both have special abilities, which are made stronger by Kris’s soulwaves while they’re resonating. Their rival teams are Berdly with his weaponpartner Noelle, and the mysterious prodogy Papyrus, wielding his older brother Sans, a deathscythe.

My favourite character from this AU is Asriel, because of course he is. He’s 11 years older than Kris, has a grigori soul and wields his wife Dess. An essential conflict of the plot is them returning home after being away for more than two years to help the modern crisis that is the kishin breaking free, which results of them facing ALL the family trauma.

There’s also some characterwork in my traditional sketches for this world, including some Ralsei backstory.

Some victims are stalked and played by her, she starts showing up where their at, then in dreams  within a few days/hours they will start expiriencing paranormal activities ( hearing their name or humming when their are alone, knock on the bedroom door, lights flickering and electronic devices not working...) just to mess with them ,  until finnally you’re trapped in her web

But in the end she hates doing that, she feels horrible, somentimes

So basically I will explain my AU (relationships, etc)

1. Everything goes like the original manga and anime, the only change is that:

- some of the characters are alive

- the couples change (I do ship naruhina and sasusaku but I prefer sasunaru and sakuhina)

- there will be variations (like, I know that for the plot Itachi and Shisui need to be dead but sometimes I will be doing other AUs when they are alive, same goes with Team Minato, Jiraiya, Minakushi, etc.)

Straight up, I don't like the royal Fire Nation headpieces and decided to design my own. I was mulling over: what would be fit for royalty of a powerful nation? I looked through Pinterest and the internet, I aimed for Chinese symbolism for the jade colors. I could be wrong l, but I wanted more cokord than reds, golds, and blacks, because honestly even the most pationalistic nation will get tired of a small color palatte. The Korean headpieces on Pinterest were a huge help but I also did my own thing to keep the Fire Nation theme in my own way.

I have the larger designs in order from eldest to youngest.

The first is Huanani's. The base is gold and the centerpiece resembles a drop of blood, due to her being a bloodbender who uses the sub-element heavily.

Second is Zuko. His is the most elaborate dye to the need to achieve high standards that are put on him by everyone despite him being the weakest bender and not a prodogy like his sisters. So he'll try the hardest and grew to become an obessive perfectionist.

Finally there is Azula. Unlike her older siblings, her headpiece is entirely jade. The yellow jade symbolizes optimism, and success. Obviously there are lightning motifs and a storm cloud. The flame at the centerpiece will be light blue jade, but I haven't picked what stone is at the center. Stones like jade are partially transluscent and will look like it's glowing when light passes through, and since she is the youngest she wants to stand out and a glowing headpiece will help with that.
