#lok#thinking abt different strategies#because each element works differently each member on a team will have a slightly different position in terms of knocking out#the opposing team#for example. fire isn't as solid or physical as earth and water. but it's bright and has the most energy to iy#a good probending firebender knows exactly how to strike to blind and distract the other team leaving them open to knockouts#mako specifically is able to use a powerful firebending to force opponents into drawing up their defenses in a sloppy way.#leading the resulting elemental collision into knocking them out#the waterbender is great at distrubing the balance of the opposing team and disorienting. water is also a great combining force with#both fire and earth to create steam and dust and things like that reducing opposing team visibility#and earth is the obvious choice for a classic knockout. earthbenders are hard-hitting and best at slamming opponents back#even at their sturdiest#probending style earthbending is so interesting to me in particular because all bending is focused on the disks and the sport requires you#to be light on your feet and able to move dodge and recover from glancing hits#which is very counter to the way earthbending is tradiationally taught#it's why you see bolin doing flips and leaps and throwing a lot of fast small chunks of earth around. it's because he's a probender.
