Umm.. I'm like a really big fan of Dark Nights and it was my first otome game. And honestly Roya absolutely won my heart...
So I just wanted to ask whether you'd ever think of writing a storyline for him incase the target for donations isn't met?
Rn Chain is leading the polls by a huge majority and I don't think Roya will be able to get enough votes for him. That's not to say that I don't like Chain tho...
And thank you for creating such a wonderful game. I absolutely loved it ❤️❤️
Thank you for this lovely message. I'm delighted to hear that you enjoyed the game this much. The project campaign is my final decision in the course of this project. However, I do plan to write & draw all concepts I have in mind for Roya if his storyline is not funded. The content is less than a full route, but I'm sure it will fill your curiosity about his character. It was such a joy writing about the Kenriji family so I'll surely touch on it again.
Chain still holds a lot of mysteries so I understand that a lot people vote for him. Regardless of the outcome, it'll be my pleasure to work on the new route.

Thank you! I'm delighted to know that you enjoyed the game. I hope to get the chance to write his route. I planned a campaign on my ko-fi and we're past halfway. Due to so many requests, it's a joy to work on Dark Nights again. I still have many stories on my mind.

hiii!! is it ok if i write a fanfic of Dark nights? i really like it!! but i don’t really know how to write chains persona hehe!
Hello! Fanfics are welcome. Some characters are difficult for me to write as well. Sometimes I ask the community if it feels right. I hope you have fun with it!

So how did you end up using the name 'Pinlin' and what does it mean (if there is a meaning behind it)? Just curious :)
"Pin” was a nickname given by a friend of a classmate because it rhymes with my real name. The variations were “Pinlin”, “Pinny” and “Pin pin”. At that time I found it annoying and the name felt farfetched. Nobody else gave this nickname to me besides her. Later, when I started a deviantart account, I didn’t know what name I should go by. Pinlin seemed easy to remember and since then I have been using it as pen name.

Today the Department of Awesome Parenting salutes French anime artist Thomas Romain, who lives in Tokyo where he collaborates with his sons on a project called Father and Sons Design Workshop. First Romain’s sons put their imaginations to work and draw original characters, such as cloud and plant people, steampunk doctors, towering kaiju, mecha, and warrior serpents. Then Romain uses his professional level skills to turn those characters into polished designs, not missing a single little detail created by his kids.
Head over to Bored Panda to view eve more of the Romain family’s fantastic characters. Follow Thomas Romain on Twitter to keep up with their latest collaborations.

Links to help you source art:
SauceNAO
IQDB
TinEye
Reverse Image Search (Google)
There is also an extension that allows you to right click on any image and instantly access any and all of these, meaning it literally takes seconds to source a piece.
Reminder that none of the following are proper sources:
weheartit
zerochan
gelbooru
safeburoo
fanpop
“not mine”
“credit to whoever drew this”
“Source Unknown”
(text is from http://kaibas-pants.tumblr.com/post/53602856487/links-to-help-you-source-art-saucenao-iqdb but i thought this may help it spread the information faster, so all this info is from them, just trying to get the word out. THIS EXTENSION FOR CHROME IS AMAZING BTW! I totally recommend it.)

IMPORTANT POST: PLEASE READ
Can we please stop stealing people’s art without their consent?
Especially Japanese artists?
Because believe or not, when you take a dojinka’s art and post it somewhere else without permission, not only will you make them very sad (not to mention angry) when they find out, but you could cause them some serious legal problems as well.
I am not lying. Artists are in danger of losing everything they have if distribution of their parody work gets out of hand and the original publishing company gets wind of it (and decides to prosecute). Quite a few artists have already had their lives pretty much ruined because of the thoughtless actions of irresponsible western fans.
The reason why the dojinshi industry and sites like pixiv are even allowed to exist is because of the implicit understanding that artists who make parodies will control and limit the circulation of their digital artwork, and that printed dojinshi will only be made available to a limited audience. When you take an artist’s work and upload it somewhere else, you are taking away that control, and putting them at risk.
Re-posting art without the artist’s explicit permission is not okay. Adding a source does not get you off the hook either. Neither does not adding a source at all, or saying you don’t know the artist. You took something without permission, and that means you stole it. Reblogging and liking such posts only gives re-posters the incentive to steal even more art - making the situation worse for the artist. For the love of god, have the decency to respect the rights of other human beings.
Still not convinced? Then let me take an example of an artist I’m sure you’re all familiar with: emi (of the 10-RANKAI circle).
Thousands of western fans have constantly been stealing her art for years. As a result, not only she has changed her website url multiple times, but has now renamed her circle in an effort to shake off the so-called fans who keep going against her wishes and stealing her work.
Unfortunately, her new url has already been found, and her gallery has been plundered of its copyrighted content. And it seems that re-posters can’t read, because they clearly don’t heed what she says on her site; in FOUR DIFFERENT LANGUAGES, including plain English:
Tumblr media
DO NOT UPLOAD MY FANWORKS TO OTHER WEBSITES, COPY AND REPRODUCE THEM, PUBLISH THEM IN FANZINES WITHOUT PERMISSION.
There is absolutely no excuse for anyone to disrespect the wishes of artists like her in this manner. If this continues, she will no doubt block foreign servers from accessing her site, or perhaps even stop sharing her work with others altogether. I’ve seen this happen to so many other artists who couldn’t take this abuse before.
But pixiv artists don’t say they don’t allow re-uploads on their profiles.
That’s because it’s already prohibited in the terms of use, and they don’t feel the need to repeat it. You can even find it on the help page:
Tumblr media
This art theft has gotten so fucking bad, a flipping union has been formed to try and protect amateur artists’ rights. I shit you not (and by the way, emi happens to be a member).
But where will I get my fanart?
You’re free to browse artist’s galleries, save art to your hard drive, and enjoy them at your leisure. Just don’t upload the art. It’s not yours. You have no right.
But I wanna share awesome pixiv art with my friends.
Then link them to it without re-uploading the damn image. It’s not hard.
But I wanna share art on my online communities.
There are many wonderful artists with tumblr accounts. Look for them, enjoy their work, reblog from them. Your support will inspire them to create more, and encourage other artists to come in (I can’t tell you how many times a tumblr artist has said they won’t make art for this fandom because there are too many unscrupulous art thieves in it).
Quite a few Japanese artists are here too (a popular Korean narusasu artist um-mmma gets their art stolen all the time, yet they’re already on tumblr). You could always learn to draw as well. You might turn out to be good at it. It’s fulfilling to make your own fanwork (and it’ll also help you appreciate the feelings of other creators). If you can’t, you can always just ask artists if you can share their stuff.
But I don’t know Japanese!
Most pixiv artists have a basic grasp of English. Keep your sentences simple and they can manage. You can always make use of Google translate, and you could also use these templates. It’s not hard, and artists really appreciate it. Why give them headaches when you can make their day?
I asked the artist and they refused/I got no reply.
If the artist hasn’t replied, then do not re-post. If they say no, do not re-post. Ever.
Can’t we be more creative as a fandom and not get by through stealing? Is that how we’re going to support our pairing? Through plagiarism? Are we gonna keep appreciating dreadful thief blogs like sasunaruyaoigirl? Are we that desperate to get notes? Are we gonna keep abusing these artist until pixiv blocks out all foreign access? Tbh, our pairing tags are a fucking eyesore, far worse than almost any other Naruto pairing I’ve ever seen. We’re better than this. It’s possible (not to mention easy) to run a fandom blog without snatching art from somebody else.
STILL NOT CONVINCED?
Educate yo’self with these materials (x) (x).
Good night!

STOP REPOSTERS 2017
A tumblr user, Haikyuubabee repost stuffs and they have 18K Followers, are you guys kidding me? You guys ok???
STOP REPOSTING 2017
Stop reblogging reposted ART. It’s easy to differ the real fan artist and people who claim that they made things (a.k.a reposter):
Check their art consistency and style. Fan artists have their own styles, SO if you found a suspicious blog who post many arts with different art styles and NO SOURCE OR CREDIT, they could be a reposter (or maybe a very talented fan artist who can draw with so many art styles)
CHECK THE WATERMARK. I forgot to address this ;w; but this is so important.
Fan artist likes to make comment about their art. They usually like to make a little note about their art.
Check their tag. Fan artist usually tag their art as ‘my art’ or ‘insert-username-doodle’ or ‘insert-username-art’. But there’re some fan artist who don’t, but you can always notice that they’re a fan artist because their art style.
Also, be more cautios with post with so many tags like for example you found something like this: #yuri on ice #yuri!!! on ice #yuuri x victor #yuri x victor #victuuri #viktuuri #victuri#vikturi #yuuri katsuki #katsuki yuuri #victor nikiforov #viktor nikiforov #fanart #anime #bl #yaoi (OK THIS IS SO SUSPICIOUS) I don’t say that people who tag like that are reposter, but just be more careful ok. Note this is an exception for unpopular and new artists. They tag a lot so their post would be more noticeable, but what difference them is new fan artists usually have their own tag like the one I explain in point number 3. I hope you guys don’t mistook it.
Some Japanese artist/Korean artist didn’t tag their post at all (usually only with the ship name or fandom name, and they write fully in Japanese/Korean, they didn’t talk much either in their tumblr because they’re more active in twitter #correct me if I’m wrong.
I’M NOT A FANARTIST so if I said something wrong please tell me! I’m so open to all your feeds and critics
BE CAREFUL. I just found a reposter WHO claim their arts they reposted as ‘MY ART’. The reposters are smart now so BE CAREFUL.
STOP GIVING THEM SUPPORT. If you accidentally reblog a reposted art, delete it right away. If you like the art you can always save it and go to google image or saucenao.com to find the original source
I list some reposter that I found. I won’t ask them personaly anymore to take down their reposted art because they didn’t listen. The thing that keep them alive is because POEPLE STILL REBLOGS FROM THEM. Note that.
Here’s the list
j-hope-e-e-e haikyulover a-lter-e-g-o haikyuubabee
ps: if one of them already apologize and took down their art please kindly tell me. If I mistook them as reposter please tell me.
IF YOU DON’T SUPPORT REPOSTER, REBLOG THIS POST whether you a meme blog, aesthetic blog, art blog, fandom blog, WHATEVER IT IS JUST SPREAD THIS POST. Help our fan artist to keep enjoying what their do. Support fan artist!
PS: If I missed some reposters, feel free to send me an ask!

3 years ago, I quit my job because I want to draw comics and deliver my story to as many people as possible.
The reality is harsh, one cannot live by just drawing without income. So I start selling my comics in digital form, hoping to get some money to pay bill, and feed my family. I got some money from the sale, I was so happy knowing I can earn while realizing my dream. But it soon turn into disaster, People spread my comics online, thinking they are doing me a favor by promoting it. I got complaints from customers, I feel guilty because there nothing much I can do about it. People keep asking me to print it instead, but none of you know the difficulty of selling physical books. The cost of printing of 300 thin books can easily cost up to 1.3k - 3k USD in my country. A lot of you think it is piece of cake to sell 300 books, but it is not. Even at the biggest convention where 40k ppl come with the purpose of spending their money, I can barely sell up to only around 250 pcs, and that is a A4 28 pages, 10 USD book we are talking about. When it comes to online order the sales is far worse, because of the shipping and risk. Let me do a simple break down for you:
I spend around 1 month and a half to draw all the content of artbook, with the lacks of sleep, printing takes 2 weeks but let’s cut it out.
If sold out, the book profit is 1.5k USD, minus booths fees and promothing, banner printing, transport fees, it is 1.3k USD. 1.3k / 6 weeks = around 870 USD a month.
and earning this 870 USD per month is ONLY possible if there are big convention with 40k customers every month. Not to mention that the book is fanart, original theme artbook would be far worse.
So, printing every of my comic for sales is impossible. I’m not some big shot comic artist whose works are good enough to make publisher print for me.
“19.99 / 9.99 USD for a digital comic is expensive.” As a Southeast Asian, I understand it more than anyone else. With the exchange rate now, I can something decent with 2 USD. That’s why I can still alive and drawing with little amount of customers.
As I keep getting reports from people about my comics being spread here and there. It make me more and more guilty, I feel that my customer are being exploited. I stopped feeling happy to get any message of fan, especially fan who praised my comic, I can’t help but to doubt their source of reading. and it feels sucks to have doubt the compliment I got.
so I made my comic “SMILE” to be free for reading. since it is free there is no need to worry about it being leaked. I don’t need to doubt anyone anymore.
As much as I like to chase my dream, I still need to feed my family. so I opened up Patreon as a way for donation, people who like my comic and can choose to donate for my cause. No one is forced to pay for my comic anymore, and I offer some illustrations as thank you gift for donation, in the form of pledge rewards.
and today I got this message: “I am not a big fan of your new rewards politic. I find it really expensive just for illustrations.”
so, I’m told that donating to me is expensive. My comic is free for reading, and donation is completely optional.
When you donate 5 dollars to a charity and they give you some sort of handicraft, do you tell them “This stuff doesn’t worth 5 USD”?
Maybe it’s wrong to even try to ask for donation? Maybe it’s wrong to even charge for art? Maybe it’s wrong to even draw.
Perhaps everything that’s not consumable is expensive. Everything that’s not physical is expensive. Music, software, illustration, literature, video, everything that can be copy and pasted is expensive.
Maybe I was wrong to even quit my job and try to make money with my art. I must have been dreaming all these time.
I have come this far so I will still do my best to complete my comic. But after that, perhaps it’s time to wake up and stop drawing.

Can I request a digital art from you? Are you accpting requests? Sorry if you aren't.
Sorry, I don’t have time to take requests. However, I do take requests that are related to my project. If people want to see more doodles of certain characters, I will consider it!
