Ok so about @sidras-tak's tag about them nominating Nate... I HAVE THOUGHTS
Like, it wasn't the crew. Only Sophie and Hardison watch QE, and while Sophie's briefly considered it, she tossed the thought aside because of undercover shit, and Hardison didn't even consider it-- he's like, Nate needs rehab, not a makeover.
But there's a waiter at the brewpub (that we'll call Tom) who needed the team's help, and he was so thankful that he nominated him for the fun of it. So Nate gets a call from the producers of QE and his instinct is to laugh and say no, but then Hardison and Parker look crestfallen and Eliot gives him a don't you dare make them sad look, and even Sophie's acting like he should, and he decides what the hell and he accepts it.
He won't let them anywhere near his apartment, choosing instead to make them revamp the community center, or maybe the brewpub dining area if they wanted. He told them he was a consultant and private investigator that helps people who can't help themselves, who fell through the cracks. And so they come to film and... fun ensues...
Antoni gets so excited to come to the brewpub. He talks to Hardison for all of a minute about the place before he points him towards Eliot, who is thrilled to finally talk to someone who understands cooking. Antoni is intimidated at first, but once he figures out that Eliot is a lot less scary when he's talking about food, especially his own, he warms up to him.
Jonathan falls over himself to get his hands on Eliot's hair and they have a five minute discussion just sharing hair care regimes.
Eliot has to take off his flannel after spilling some sauce on it and he has every single one of them staring at his arms. Five gay men? Jonathan's not even TRYING to stop himself from flirting. Neither is Antoni.
Hardison is SHOCKED to note that he's flirting back. He'd always kind of assumed Eliot was straight, but now... cue his crisis because the only way he'd kept from jumping Eliot was knowing he probaby wasn't into guys
(HOW DID THIS TURN INTO AN OT3 POST)
Tan takes one look at Nate's t shirt and hoodie and is not impressed. Then he sees Nate's closet and the fitted clothes and suits and just... "WHY ARE YOU NOT WEARING THIS STUFF?" he yells.
"They're work clothes. Why wear work clothes when I'm not working"
Tan calms down and finally just insists on adding color to his wardrobe, because for god's sake, Nate, you don't have to wear nothing but gray, black, and navy.
Jonathan and Sophie spend half an hour trying to convince Nate that moisturizer won't kill him.
Bobby somehow ends up with Hardison and Parker shadowing him while he tries to get the community center whipped into shape. Hardison keeps trying to convince him to add smart features at the same time as he talks about how easy most places are to hack and poor Bobby has no idea what to do anymore.
Parker, meanwhile, keeps talking about how fun it would be to put a rock climbing wall in to teach little kids, and she's making weird comments about some of the art prints he wants to put up, talking about museum security and Bobby just does NOT know what to make of any of this anymore.
The QE guys have at least two conversations where Bobby brings up how there is no WAY everything the Leverage crew does is legal and the rest of the guys are like "Bobby, don't be all paranoid."
"Parker started talking about museum security LIke she was trying to break in and steal something!"
"Nate did say she used to work in museum security"
"Hardison mentioned hacking the pentagon?"
"He was just kidding!"
AKA the other guys aren't stupid, but they firmly believe no criminal would be stupid enough to be filmed.
They don't realize just how much the crew did NOT think things through properly
KARAMO! Oh poor Karamo, he has his work cut out for him with Nate. The dead son, the divorce... Sophie tells him about how he still calls Maggie his wife and he almost loses his mind.
"Did you ever consider grief counseling?"
"Maggie tried to get me to go too, but vodka is cheaper."
"Alcohol is not a coping mechanism, Nate."
"That's just because no one else is as good at it as I am."
Sophie tells Karamo not to bother, that they'd been trying to get Nate sober for a while, but it wasn't so bad anymore, and she was just not worried anymore. Eliot begs Karamo to intervene, if only for the sake of Nate's liver.
Karamo brings Maggie in so she and Nate can talk, and okay, they all know he's dating Sophie, but he is definitely shipping Sophie and Maggie at least a little bit.
Maggie is so excited that this is happening at all. Like SO excited.
"Can you get him to stop drinking?"
Nate is just regretting everything more and more every minute.
Despite all the trials and tribulations, it all goes pretty okay. The community center unveiling turns into a party that a bunch of their former clients go to. THe QE guys cheer when they're watching the video package every time that Eliot helps (forces) Nate to remember what they literally JUST spent the last three days doing.
There's a lot of confusion in the world after the episode airs. Mostly from Boston baseball fans and Memphis music fans and Oregon hockey fans, but there's a lot of random people who just do NOT understand what is going on.
Like, there are entire conspiracy theories circulating about what's going on. It only stops when Hardison puts out an expertly doctored picture that shows the various Eliot personas "Hanging out together" with various doctored differences in looks so that if people look at them all together, they no longer look like the same exact person.
people still think it's fake but really, what can you do. It at least discredits the conspiracy nuts enough so that the whole thing becomes another moon landing/flat earth/fake pregnancy laughable hoax.
Bobby takes the conspiracy as proof that he was right all along. He figures out enough of what's happening to know he was right to be concerned, but he also refuses to talk about it anymore. There may be more to the crew than they thought, but at least they seem to be doing some good in the world.
queer eye but it’s an ex-insurance investigator, a grifter, a hacker, a retrieval specialist and a thief, and they provide disenfranchised citizens with leverage against large corporations
