It's still one my favs because it is just so...me?? Like if I had to chose anything that represented my personality perfectly, it would be Nicest Thing. Just a depressed, sad bitch who loves angst and Peter Parker and enjoys Kate Nash. I feel like I need another Kate Nash song for this "sequel" fic. I'll base it off her song Trash because these two are trash for each other.

Peter looked at her through blazed out, squinting eyes. A haze of smoke filled their bathroom as they passed the joint back and forth between them. They were seated in the unfilled tub, fully clothed, and facing each other. She had made him take the spot next to the faucet under the claims that sitting over the drain made her feel “icky” like she might get sucked in. He didn’t mind. Even if their leaky faucet kept dripping cold water over his shoulder. 

“Do you remember the Rugrats episode when Tommy and Chuckie are afraid of getting sucked down the bathtub drain because Angelica tells them a story of some other baby who died that way?” He asked, handing her off the joint. 

She placed it between her lips and he watched with a slow blinking, admiration for her. He loved her. She had been with him through everything. He owed his entire life to her. Without her in his life, he would no longer be here. She was everything important in the world. 

She smiled, remembering, and let out the most beautiful laugh. She always got extra giggly when they smoked. It was one of his favorite sounds. 

“Don’t they fill the drain with play-doh and shit? It’s a weird reddish, pink color. Why do I remember that specific color so much?” She replied, mystified. 

Peter chuckled, “Because old school Rugrats was filled with some crazy ass imagery. It sticks in your mind.” 

“Yeah but I remember thinking that I specifically wanted to eat that color...like maybe it would taste nice…like the imaginary food from Hook.” She passed it back to him, letting the smoke exhale in a little, circular puffs from between her lips. 

“Do you want to get into a pretend food fight with me and see if anything appears?” He grinned. 

Her red rimmed eyes squinted back at him as she laughed, “With the way these munchies have been hitting me the past few minutes, I think it might actually happen. I could imagine food hard enough to make it show up.” 

His mind started to wander as a hungry smile spread across his face, imagining all the food he could eat, and he spoke with a dreamy whisper, “Pizza bagels.”

“What?”

“Let’s make pizza bagels. ‘M hungry. Starvin’. Gonna die if I don’t get some food in me.” 

Her eyes glowed with excitement at the idea, “Pizza bagels. Yes, you’re a genius!” 

“I know,” he giggled, it bubbled out of him without any self control. It wasn’t the weed that did it. It was her. He felt free when he was with her. He flicked out the joint against the ashtray balancing on the edge of the tub. “I really am. Smartest man alive, probably.” 

She snorted, “Okay, I wouldn’t go that far. Get your ego in check, Parker, before I have to slap some sense back into you.” 

He beamed at her, his love consumed him, feeling it outshine every other emotion rattling around inside of him. She was beautiful. Stunning. Picture perfect. He wanted to hang her up on his wall like an expensive piece of art so he could admire every day of his life. 

Her shoulders shrunk up to her ears under the intensity of his gaze.

“Stop that,” she whispered. “Don’t look at me with those eyes or I’ll kick you. I’ve got a perfect aim for your crotch in this position.”

Peter shook his head, “Nope, sorry, I refuse. I can’t help it. You look…perfect. The nicest thing I’ve ever seen in my entire life.”

“You’re stoned.” 

“Yes. Doesn’t change the fact that your lips look very enticing.” He winked at her and tried to scoot forward to get a taste. 

Her socked foot landed against his chest, pushing him back in place, “I thought we were making pizza bagels, not kissing. Weren’t you just starving a minute ago?” 

“Starving for you, maybe.” 

“Peter!” She let out a loud laugh, keeping him at bay with her outstretched leg. 

He was so in love. Completely enamored. Whipped. Head over heels. Trash for her. Whatever he wanted to call it. He belonged to her so wholly. His bleeding heart was in her hand for the rest of his life. He would follow her to the ends of the earth and back again. 

“If you don’t let me kiss you right this very second, I am going to turn this shower on.” His hand reached over his shoulder to grip onto the shower knob with a mischievous twinkle in his eye. 

She gave a sharp inhale, “You wouldn’t dare.” 

His eyebrows raised, taking on that challenge, “Oh really?”

She knew she fucked up the second before the shower burst to life. From his position in the tub, it shot over his head to spray directly into her face. She shrieked and fell back, sliding down the sloped edge of the tub until she was nearly on her back.

It was all the opportunity he needed to pounce. He leapt on top of her to the sound of her laughter and blocked the shower stream from her face with his back. His arms wrapped protectively around her head as he laid over her. Water pooled around them, warming their bodies, and soaking through their clothes. 

They didn’t feel it. 

All he could feel was the devoted love burning a hole in his chest where his heart used to be. 

She giggled up at him, blinking water droplets from her eyes, and whispered, “You’re an ass.”

He laughed in response and crashed his lips over hers, mumbling against them, “You love me.” 

She sighed in content. Her arms snaked around his neck to draw him closer, melting happily into his kiss. 

“I do.”

easy. Annihilation by Jeff Vandermeer

(Actually do read the whole trilogy I beg)… It’s so vastly different from the movie. It changed my brain forever. It’s so relentlessly fascinating that I’ve read it in a single sitting twice. Please please please. There’s nothing like it

Album:

Okay this one is a harder sell, BUT it’s a load-bearing album of my soul:

Antimai by The Dear Hunter.

Each track of this album represents a different ‘ring’ of a fictional society called Antimai, from “Ring 8 - Poverty” all the way up to “Ring 1 - Tower”... the instrumentation varies to thematically represent the echelon of society of each given song. The lyrics and poignant and the vocals are impassioned and I get absolutely drunk on it. I’ve listened to this start to finish more times than any other album in my life and I only discovered it in 2022. It soothes my brain when I’m overstimulated. It’s definitely not for everyone, but I just think it’s a masterpiece. It’s magical to me. I think you should listen in order all the way through, but if you wanted a taste, Ring 7 - Industry is a jam, Ring 6 - LoTown reminds me of the haunting horns of Revachol, and my favs are probably Ring 5 - Middle Class or Ring 1 - Tower.

I could talk about it for hours. But I’ll stop now.

Game:

I don’t play many games tbh, I’m a Slay the Spire/Balatro type of guy (yes I’ve slayed the spire multiple times✌🏼). But I wouldn’t make anyone play those. I WOULD however make everyone play Disco Elysium.

The art. The music. The narrative. The gorgeous prose. The way it’s both the most haunting story that stays with you forever AND full of the most hilarious lines of dialogue ever created. And you can make Harry wear a mesh shirt and a faggot jacket. What more could you want

Well, I guess you can divide Azrael's reading into three sections:

New Earth (Pre N52)

Batman: Sword of Azrael (1992): !!! This is JP's origin, a relatively short comic that takes place a little before Knightfall, and sets what Azrael is and how he becomes what he is.

Knightfall (followed by Knightquest and, if you wish to, Prodigal): This is probably the longest story inside the batfam that JP has. I personally like reading compiled versions, including the prelude to Knightfall (starting on Batman #480, which has Jean-Paul meeting Tim, AND JP dressing up as Batman before Bruce's back getting hurt). Jean-Paul stops appearing once Dick takes over the Batman mantle.

Azrael and Azrael Agent of the Bat: Basically 100 issues of Jean-Paul going through the horrors. However, around the last 5-10 issues are of dubious canon as per Rebirth (but this series is good to know JP's particular canon such as his dad, the order, Lilhy, etc)

No Man's Land: Technically this goes inside the Azrael solo? Tbh I'd also look for a compiled version, preferably including Contagion, and if you want, you can check out the very beginning of the story in Batman Legacy: Progeny of the demon (tho this one only has Tim + Ra's on it)

Extras: There are less known appearances of JP in comics such as: Batman: The Chalice ; Batman: Shadow of the Bat ; Batman: Legends of the Dark Knight ; Batman: Gotham Knighs and a very funny cameo in Nightwing (1996) #10

New 52

Batman & Robin Eternal: JP's re-introduction arc starts at #9 and I'm afraid I don't remember well where it ended, but he does transition into the batfam alongside Cass, Luke & Harper.

Detective comics: He started appearing as supporting character after 930ish issue, I believe. I'm gonna be honest, I only read JP's N52 stuff once and didn't like it much besides him being friends with Luke & Kate, plus the famous panel in #958 where Kate says she needs to taught them (JP & Luke) the art of seduction.

Rebirth

Detective Comics: House of Gotham: This includes a short retelling of Knightfall, showing a bit more of JP and Tim in their days as the dynamic duo. It's very small but it reintroduced knightfall to canon.

Justice League Odyssey: Look, LOOK, this isn't a masterpiece but it has a very sexy JP design. This arc was, to my undertanding, changed many times during publication, and the artist even shared full pages that ended up deleted. This is a very ooc Jean-Paul most of the time (my working theory is that they wanted Jason, as Victor & Kory seem too familiar with JP, which makes no sense) but it's a fun reading and it is currently canon.

Sword of Azrael (2022): This is THE current Azrael story of DC. It wraps up all of the previous stories plus setting where JP is right now in terms of power, mind and morals. It's short, but it's wonderful and lovely written. The art goes slightly towards manga style, which I think suits JP. I don't want to spoil anything on this one, if you have little time to read, read this one. It's all you need to know of JP.

Detective comics: The Ram V arc: I'm unsure where Ram V's arc covers in Detective Comics but if you want to know where JP is currently, it's here. He hasn't appeared as today that I'm replying. It is a bit ooc and has some weird dialogues (and ngl Ram V isn't exactly my fav take on Batman) but it's good, I'd give it a 7/10 and it located JP in Gotham again so it did its job.

Extras (elseworlds):

Tales from the Dark Multiverse: Batman Knightfall: A very dark turning of what Knightfall could have been. Sadly there's no Tim here, but it's worth a read if you want to see a feral JP!

Batman: Curse of the White Knight: Part of a complete AU of Batman that plays with ages, settings and relationships, JP has a brand new interpretation. The only spoiler I will give you is: DILF

Batman: The Adventures Continue #7-#9: Takes place on the Batman animated series by Bruce Timm, tho sadly he doesn't run into Robin!Tim despite taking place right before the JJ events. A short, interesting take on JP. Somehow, the spoiler here shall also be DILF

You know what? I'll announce what I was meant to say for almost a week! I'll write this on the go so, it will probably be long:

Do you see all of that in those two pics? Those are ALL TF WIPs I hoarded between other dozens since 2022 (plus some almost finished and/or on the pipeline of being finished).

Well, having them constantly lingering in my present 2024 folder made it easy to grab and work on them on an almost daily-weekly basis...

... but it pushed aside my other personal projects that ended up in a secondary WIP folder that I barely touched since I fell into this robot hell.

Not a bad thing! This was fun, but after this year's mixture of creative exhaustion I'm facing, I want to slow down a bit my focus on TF art.

I will still work on the WIPs related to my pals @sug4r-melon , @goobygnarp, and @lovestruckmousey 's designs for our shared TF AUs.

(And probably some low-key simple projects like doing tiny vehicle mode icons of the TFA cast like how I did with the RB cast for a zine. I was thinking too about making plush-toy icons of my favs because I can).

(I already set up a sideblog to save a great part of my TF art, especially the Lockdown/Prowl ones but for now, I'll leave it all private. I won't purge my fanart but I prefer to be safe).

But the rest? If it's not in the final stage and/or scheduled already (I have one dated since the past year to be posted in September so, that still stands) the WIP/artwork will be canned on a folder apart until I can have the motivation to work again on them.

The other reason for this slowdown is... I'm currently in two Zines. One for TFs (that I feel super honored to be part of) and another with OCs.

I had quite a bumpy ride at the beginning of this year, trying to postulate to zines not centered around TFs because I really want to branch my art and expose my original stuff so...

Nailing that OC zine feels like a big VICTORY! And I hope to expand more because gosh darn: no one but ME can draw my OCs!

And I miss my critters... I didn't participate in Artfight because of zero updated refs. I really want to change that next year!

Yup... a long read. But I hope my point is understandable and I'm not sounding like a quitter or something sjfhdkjshfsdjfh

12 Days of TDP #1

What TDP means to me

I just noticed I never did this one so now that S7 is out it's a good time! I'm gonna talk about TDP and the fandom here since they are so important to me. Ignore this if you don't care at all about my little venting lmao:

A bit of story, I found out about TDP back when it was announced with the cool first poster, I didn't get into the series because I was busy with studies but when the show launched the second season my friend told me "hey this series is super good and there's a great ship" I knew right away the ship was rayllum lmao. I had to wait four or five months for S3 and I spoiled myself about the finale because it stressed me haha. When TTM came out I spoiled myself on instagram and had the worst week ever, no therapy will ever make that book okay.

I checked weekly about the date announcement while I got hyperfixated in another series from 2020 to 2022 just when S4 was going to air! I didn't check social media much so I wasn't updated about new info or content like BMH until the announcement of the launching date, the trailer, new designs, etc. I really enjoyed S4 and was excited for more! I missed the characters so much and I was so excited about the next seasons, I found out that there was actual good content on tumblr some weeks after S4, YouTube was the only place I was looking for stuff and that wasn't doing very well for me, I was a bit scared of tumblr over past experiences in fandom but oh wow the TDP fandom was actually cool!?

I found out about all the antics from the hiatus and the ideas and headcanons were so interesting! I got interested in reading or writing fics for the first time of my life so I got entertained while waiting for new content. I stalked posts but I only posted some art and didn't start really posting until a bit before S5 was out and oh well I and couldn't stop.

I have to say that this has been the most enjoyable fandom and fandom time I have ever been in. I have made online friends and have had so much fun, on top of that my art has improved a lot drawing TDP, the support it gets fills me with joy.

TDP is such a good series and it makes me so happy (I say this as I actually get emo over every season), rayllum is my absolutely fav romance ever and just writing or drawing or just talking about them makes my day. I love these characters and it has been so cool seeing them grow, I can't wait to see more about them.

Now with the sad part, I'm... scared? of things changing. Maybe my hyperfixation going away, to think about not liking rayllum or tdp as much in the future or the concept of them not bringing me joy. I highly doubt it because I have loved this series for 5 years now, my hyperfixation peaked with S4 and it hasn't waned ever since, not even with the one year hiatus from S4 to S5 I'm also very excited to see what the people come up in the big hiatus between S7 and S8, it will be so fun, I wasn't in the hiatus the first time and I regret it.

But at the same time, it makes me sad people leaving. Scared of me standing here alone with other one or two people, maybe even the mutuals or people I'm following disappearing or moving on. I know this is something that happens to fandoms all the time, and even if a series ends you are the one choosing to keep it alive or not but it's still concerning. I know it sound silly to get so emotional over this but as someone with high probabilities of autism, I have a hard time with social relationships or overall just living. But TDP and the fandom content makes me happy, the feeling of not fitting in is not as strong here with you all and having all of that taken away makes me sad. I haven't found another series that has caught my interest as much and I doubt I will anytime soon since TDP and Rayllum have everything I love, fandoms are also not as cool out there. I'm happy that I'm confident I will be here for a long time but at the same time is... scary. Change is scary and I have been feeling uneasy and irritated for a while now, even before S7 aired.

I'm gonna be here for a while, I'm gonna be here when Arc 3 and I can't wait to share with all of you. I'm sorry if this got too personal but I needed to vent.

I love seeing everything you share, it's such a great glimpse into the past. But I see some things for sale too, and it's made me wonder, do you mostly collect for yourself, or to sell onwards to others to spread the joy? Or is your home like an amazing museum of the Russian/Soviet past? And what's your favourite thing that you've ever stumbled across?

(If those questions are too personal, no offense meant. Thanks for this blog though, it's one of my favs!)

Thank you for the question! :D Always nice to talk about one's obsessions. So, this blog intitially started many years ago as a way to show off my collection of Soviet New Year postcards. A few years later I tried to sell some of my excess postcards and to my surprise, people actually bought them! In 2014-2022 I did the Etsy shop full time. I realized something about myself along the way. While I adore vintage things and I enjoy touching them and looking at them and researching them, I do not need to own them indefinitely. So this shop thing is perfect for me because it gives me a chance to have so many different things and hold them and cherish them, and then I sell them and make money and room to have other things.

So, ever since the 2014, I was only buying things to sell them (and to hold and enjoy them in the process). I do of course sometimes keep things for myself, but probably fewer than you imagine. Some of the things I kept are a vintage Earth globe, a small table, a crystal vase, a bunch of kitchen stuff like cups and bowls and cutlery, a bunch of photography books, a few pins, some towels and linens, and many records and Christmas tree ornaments!

Some of the most memorable things I've come across are this huge wooden cutout of Lenin (sourced from a local school, donated to a local museum), a large and heavy folder of Andrei Sokolov space art prints (sold to the US during the pandemic and nearly gave me a heart attack with how long it travelled), this cartonage cosmonaut ornament (bought at a thrift store in St Petersburg, super expensive, but I've never seen another one), a Yuri Gagarin souvenir plate, a whole bunch of stationery (I love writing letters, I gave some of them to my penpals). The memorability, for me, is often about the process of finding it, not the item itself. Or having it - like the time I put a bunch of flags on the clothesline outside to take a picture. Neighbourhood grandmas sure were surprised. :)

2024 Calendars

Since 2023... 2022?, I've been putting up multiple calendars because I like the surprise and changing the way my walls look every month. This year I had like 6 of them.

In order - One was a giant Golden Kamuy calendar that I got on impulse because I like the artist's style but I didn't realize it how cheese-cakey it was. It was a little embarrassing to have some of the months up. Felt a little like this gif

2nd was Moomin. I feel like I didn't really appreciate this as much as I should since it was in a place I couldn't sit by and observe so easily.

3rd was a free calendar. Beautiful animal photos. Not too bad. Great for free

4th was one of my favs. Impressionist paintings. I think I loved every painting.

5th was woodblock prints by Hiroshige. Beautiful and I loved every month.

6th was probably my fav. By a Korean artist that makes beautiful little drawings of her dog. It's a kind of art style I like. I got this on impulse too. Artist is yeye on twitter or insta.

Why do I ship Liu Kang x Sonya Blade so much?

Some folks probably wonder this, and I feel now would be a good time to post why I ship them so strongly.

As a kid, I always was curious about these two getting together, even though they never officially hooked up. However, there was a brief hint at their relationship in the non-canon Mortal Kombat novel by Jeff Rovin, which was published a few months before the 1995 film's theatrical release.

This interaction actually made my curiosity over them grow, but if you dig deeper into their backstories, especially in certain incarnations like the 1995 film, they actually have quite a number of things in common.

Both grew up losing family members. Sonya lost her father and twin brother while Liu Kang lost practically his entire family (his parents are very much dead in every incarnation while his brother was murdered in the 1995 movie). In addition to this, Sonya also lost her partner, who was also her fiancée, depending on which incarnation you follow.

They grew up being pushed to their limits to the point where they take their respective duties very seriously with Liu Kang being a Shaolin monk and Sonya being a Special Forces agent.

So much that they don't really have time to settle down and raise families, and when they do have the opportunity, it doesn't last very long. Liu Kang turned down Kitana's offer to be king of Edenia by her side while Sonya divorced Johnny Cage.

Their duties ultimately cost them their lives as Liu Kang was killed by the Deadly Alliance while Sonya sacrificed herself after being trapped in falling debris caused by Liu Kang's Revenant form (which isn't truly Liu Kang).

That is not to say they don't deserve to settle down, of course. They both deserve the absolute best, especially after what they go through.

Personality-wise, they can also be similar. Sonya is usually very stubborn and hard-as-nails, and while Liu Kang is usually more reserved, he can also be the same, especially in the 1995 movie.

I know that most fans prefer Liu Kang with Kitana and Sonya with Johnny Cage since that was what became canon ever since the 1995 movie, and that's totally fine, but because of the reasons I highlighted, I made so much fan art and posts shipping Liu Kang and Sonya together to the point where they are a thing in my works based on MK, and they truly are my OTP, when it comes to the franchise.

Another reason for this is actually a very personal reason...

There are two women who I'm in contact with. One of them is my actual girlfriend named Haley, who lives in Arizona. We met since 2009 when we were both 13 years of age (she was born in May 1995 while I was born in August of that year). For a long time, Sonya was her favorite MK character while Liu Kang is mine, and this stuck with me ever since.

The other is a pen pal of mine who goes by the username @twinsand. Sonya is undeniably one of her favs, and she even dressed up as her. Not only does she ship CageBlade, but she also likes the idea of Sonya with Shang Tsung. We have been mutuals since late 2022, and I couldn't be any more grateful to have such a friend.

For that reason among others, I will gladly keep Liu Kang x Sonya.

in a year where apex sucks absolute bootywater, and i needed a new shooter the most, marvel rivals came to me. and this time, if the lore sucks, most of the characters have decades worth of comic history to look into! hurray

Mouthwashing (2024)

im giving mouthwashing my fav game of the year award. theres just so much to say about it and i dont think ill ever have time to articulate it all. its just so mundanely horrifying beneath the flashing lights and body horror. and i think that really, really helps it stand out, as well as having a strong visual identity with these ps2-ass graphics and the way certain interactions are framed with cinematic intent in mind. theres so many deeply haunting moments in this game that arent even necessarily borne from the true horror stuff like the gore and the nightmare sequences. theres a reason that so many people have drawn art to represent that dead pixel

The Wild Robot

i thought this movie was just kind of delightful, a very pleasant experience. not particularly deep but i dont think it needs to be. lupita nyong'o i love you

Night in the Woods (2017)

so i've tried playing nitw like twice before and i could just never really stick it out. both first playthroughs i think i made it as far as day 3 when you have to decide whether to start hanging out with bea or gregg and then for some reason i was just never interested enough to go back and finish the game. but this year i decided i was gonna, and not only that, but i ended up 100%'ing the game! i can see why so many people fell in love with it and there are several moments i think about a lot, particularly mae meeting 'god' and everything with germ becuz i like him :)

i kinda had to sit and go damn would this movie really make my top 7? and i decided yeah. it would. i really enjoyed it. it's just a solid entertaining time. i even learned a little something. it's not often that happens xp

favorite episode(s) Whenever i watch/rewatch bad buddy i tend to binge it so i can never distinguish betweens episodes lol. In general, ep 12 is definitely one of my favs because i feel like it ties things up nicely and i like seeing them happy :) i can probably give a better answer for favourite scene...

In no particular order: the staircase proposal scene, the bus stop roleplaying scene, the post-curtain bench hand holding scene (specifically that one face pat/ohm makes which imo is the single most most heartbreaking frame in the entire show), the ep 12 post-credits scene (wait was it actually post-credits, i don't remember ajksdjf), the screaming on the rocks at the zero-waste village scene, and the rooftop kiss (ofc)

Basically i just like to see them happy (most of the time) :)

one thing you would change about the show if you could the whole making-it-up-to-wai arc was not it for me. WHY was pran the one apologising and going after him??? still makes me mad to this day, but i think i'd have a lot more animosity towards wai if ep 12 didn't exist (also all the wai redemption arcs in fanfics have made me warm up to him :P)

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

This year is gonna be good. I have a job I like, and even though it’s probably not the one I wanna have forever, I still am having a lot of fun and it’s a much better environment than my last one!! 2023 was kinda shit ngl, but I made some amazing friends, and I even joined a “big-ish” discord server last year after being terrified of even talking one on one with ppl in dms at the start of this year. I got into rain world and it’s brought me so much joy! I’m almost at 500 followers, and whether you’re a frequent person I see in my notes or a mutual just know I appreciate all of you. I made tons of fun aus and got a bunch of people to thirst over sig in a lab coat xD pretty productive year, in my opinion. Thank you guys for the support!!

RJ's Platinum Collection #10: Tekken 7

I have always been a huge fan of the Tekken series. Something about how batshit insane this series is, and how it takes all of its crazy stuff completely seriously, appeals to me in a big way. Plus I love all of the characters, which is rare to say for a fighting game series. So I decided that Tekken 7 would make a good next platinum for me.

I can't even begin to explain Tekken's lore and story. You probably have to watch a YouTube video explaining it.

But anyway!

The first obvious step to get the Platinum is to first play through the game's story mode, including the Special Chapter you unlock after beating the regular story, which netted me ten trophies including some miscellaneous trophies I managed to get while playing the main story.

1/43: You Think You're Tougher Than Me? - Finished the Prologue of the main story.

2/43: Elegance At Its Purest - Triggered 10 screws.

3/43: Power Is Everything! - Dealt 10 power crushes.

4/43: Let's Do This! - Finished Chapter 1 of the main story.

5/43: There's Nowhere To Run. Give Up! - Dealt 10 homing attacks.

6/43: You Challenge Me?! - Finished Chapter 8 of the main story.

7/43: I Can't Accept This Fate - Finished Chapter 13 of the main story.

8/43: It's Time For You To Meet Your End! - Watched the Epilogue of the main story.

9/43: It's Just Business - Obtained a total of over 5,000,000 gold.

10/43: Master Of Iron Fist - Finished the Special Chapter of the Main Story.

Side note, the Special Chapter is extremely hard. It took me quite a bit of time to beat, so be warned.

Next up I decided to tackle the Character Episodes. These are short, one-fight mini stories, one for each of the game's roster of fighters. You only need to beat 10 of these Character Episodes to get the trophies, but I played all of them anyway just for fun.

11/43: I Demand To Know The Truth! - Finished three Character Episodes.

12/43: Lightning Of Fate - Finished 10 Character Episodes.

After doing this, I decided to play the game's Arcade Mode with several of my favorite characters for awhile. I managed to get a few more trophies while playing Arcade Mode, including the ones for beating Devil Kazumi and Akuma (yes, Akuma from Street Fighter is in this game) as the final boss of Arcade Mode.

13/43: You Fought Well - Achieved a great victory.

14/43: Fear My Wrath - Beat Devil Kazumi in an Arcade Battle or a Special Match in Treasure Battle.

15/43: Crushing Impact! - Performed a balcony-breaking move.

16/43: Don't Take It Personally - Achieved a perfect victory.

17/43: The Prosperous Inevitably Decline - Beat Akuma in an Arcade Battle or a Special Match in Treasure Battle.

From this point on I got a few trophies specifically using YouTube video guides to get them, because I wasn't sure how I would get them naturally. However, I also got more trophies that were natural by continuing to have fun in Arcade Mode and Treasure Battle.

18/43: Please Don't Tell My Father - Reached the deepest part of the Jungle Outpost stage.

19/43: Anger Of The Beast - Dealt an overall total of 1,000 damage while in Rage Mode.

20/43: I'll Kick Your Butt To Hell And Back! - Dealt 70+ damage in an air combo.

21/43: Instant Annihilation - Won three times consecutively in Treasure Battle.

22/43: Destructive Drive - Performed a floor-breaking move.

23/43: Stun Gun! - Snatched victory from the jaws of defeat 5 times with a Rage Art.

24/43: Going Somewhere? - Reached the bottom floor of the Forgotten Realm stage.

25/43: Just Relax, You Can Do It - Perform three 10-hit combos.

At this point I decided I would tackle Treasure Battle head-on. Treasure Battle is a special mode where you pick one character and play through an unending series of fights against other characters in order to win prizes in Treasure Boxes, with your character leveling up with each victory, with your opponents also getting stronger and stronger. I needed to keep going through Treasure Battle with my chosen (and favorite) character Lili until I got Lili all the way up to the rank of Warrior, and gotten at least fifty prizes from my battles. It took several hours of play, but I managed to level up Lili and become an excellent fighter.

26/43: This Should Be Fun - Got promoted to 1st Dan.

27/43: We Settle This Now! - Dealt 20 Rage Arts.

28/43: Cool! - Obtained 20 treasure boxes.

29/43: Overdrive! - Dealt 10 Rage Drives.

30/43: Sturdy And Indestructible - Blocked 5 Rage Arts.

31/43: Your Technique Is Impressive - Got promoted to Initiate.

32/43: Excellent - Obtained a total of over 10,000,000 gold.

33/43: Roar! (Nice Moves!) - Get promoted to Brawler.

34/43: Wow, I'm Pretty Strong! - Won three special matches in Treasure Battle.

35/43: I've Finally Found You - Obtained 50 treasure boxes.

36/43: Don't Hold Anything Back - Defeated 20 opponents of a higher rank.

37/43: Hot-Blooded Fighter - Got promoted to Warrior.

Next up were the trophies I was dreading....ONLINE BATTLES.

I like Tekken but I am not anywhere near good enough at the game to be a threat in Online. I'm basically a button masher. I only needed to fight in at least 10 games overall, but also while winning a ranked match, a player match, and a battle in a tournament. This took me an embarrassing amount of time. In fact, I only managed to get one of those wins because I sent my opponent a chat basically begging them to let me win for the trophy, and they were nice enough to agree.

Thank you internet stranger, you were very nice.

Anyway, I did eventually get all of the online trophies, and I promptly never touched that mode again.

38/43: Yeah! I Did It! - Won a ranked match online.

39/43: Not Bad - Won a player match online.

40/43: Okay! I'm Ready! - Won a battle in an online tournament.

41/43: Come And Get Some, I Dare You! - Fought 10 online battles.

And now I only had one more trophy to get, but it was the one I really wished I didn't have to. Basically, I needed to go into Practice Mode and use my character to beat up the other character until I had gotten 50,000 damage. This took me less than an hour but it was very boring. However, I got it, and then the much more satisfying platinum trophy!

42/43: No Pain, No Gain - Dealt 50,000 damage in Practice Mode.

43/43: I'll Get Everything Back! - Acquired all the trophies.

Tekken is one of the most fun fighting game franchises I've played. I definitely think everyone should play it. It may seem daunting, but Tekken is also very easy to platinum compared to games like Mortal Kombat and Street Fighter.

oh where to start! this is a bit of a brain dump, but is semi-chronological and images included in the order of discussion

first, summer of 2016, going to the hermitage and making puns about all of the art! they were not good puns. i believe my brother called the statue below a "boar"ing statue. it was quite hot since we went in summer and we were very surprised that the musuem had no ac since there is generally some to protect the art from the elements. so twas a very sticky and humor filled walk thru some art that has seen quite a lot (pic 1)

fall of 2018, went to the met's heavenly body's fashion exhibit with 2 friends from high school. i love & still go to musuem's w one of them, she's v sweet. the exhibit took place in the part of the museum that is older and looks like a church, so it was v prescient!! (pics 2-4, the leather jacket was so cool)

spring 2019, went to the met again (can u tell i went to college in nyc) and to the frick for my art history class to do a scavenger hunt for the class. quite honestly the most fun assignment ever. it was going through the museums and finding the art and writing about it. there were 50 or so things to find out. we went 3 times total for 3 sessions of the hunt. went w my dad for one, he has said he wants to do more even now

fall of 2019 i went to the met's instruments of rock n roll and saw instruments from a lot of famous musicians! i have a bunch of pics of them, but was v fun i went w my dad and got a bunch of music taste from him so that was cool. i was v amused by this many headed guitar hahaha (pic 5)

winter 2020 i went to a black tie gala in an art musuem so that was v fun & festive!!!

ok covid took a hit to this list so fall 2021! natural history musuem in london! went w my brother bc he was doing his masters same time as i was studying abroad there. i mean it's gorgeous. my brother is v interested in rocks so spent a while in the geology section! lots of cool rocks.

feb 2022, went to the met around my bday! my bf flew to visit me. saw very cool swords. pictured below!

summer 2022, went to the Louvre and the musee d'Orsay! saw the painting of dante and virgil in hell which was v cool, i have always loved that one.

for the sake of brevity, lets go to feb 2023, went to the whitney to see my fav artist edward hopper and an exhibit on him! went w the same friend as i went to the met in 2018 w. went w my brother too. fav exhibit ever probably, just bc i love hopper and i have included my fav painting by him, new york movie! my mom had a book on hopper growing up on our coffee table so always read it

oh my this is not brief. the fire is dwindling! ill stoke it.

this summer! the prado in madrid! i love goya so seeing his work was just so cool. they v sadly didnt allow photography in the museum but saw his black paintings the ones w saturn eating his children.
