like, people will see them blushing at each other and pining mutually, or one person is obviously in love and the other is oblivious, and folks will say “omg when will they be canon”

i mean, i get it. especially with queer couples we really want to see them together, to see it be said out loud, to be labeled obviously so homophobes can suck it. but you know what? that’s not reality

unrequited love is a beautiful stage of any ship. Mutual pining, friends who blush at each other, teasing, flirting? if it’s clear that romantic feelings between two characters is what the writers intended, then it’s canon. i don’t care if they’ve confessed dramatically or not. Raeda? they’ve been in love since they were kids. that love is real and canon. Did Connie and Steven Universe ever say i love you romantically (before he uh proposed)? nope. were Sheriff Blubs and Deputy Durland not meant to be in love all along? no, Alex Hirsch just couldn’t say it till the last episode

in short: love doesn’t wait for dramatic confessions and official labels. it’s there where it’s written and i think we should look for that instead
