[!] Park Bogum has received an offer for a role in upcoming drama ‘Hwayugi’, written by the Hong Sisters.

About the drama:

‘Hwayugi’ will mark the return of the Hong Sisters, who previously wrote the scripts for the dramas, ‘Warm and Cozy’, ‘The Master’s Sun’, ‘The Greatest Love’, ‘Big’, ‘You’re Beautiful’ etc.

It will be a romantic fantasy drama that is a modern take of ‘Journey to the West’ - one of the four Great Classical Novels of Chinese literature.

It will follow the journey of Sun Wukong, who is fatally sexy/attractive and the snobbish Xuanzang as they try to find light in the dark world of 2017 where evil is rampant.

About the characters/roles:

Park Bogum has received the script for the character of Sun Wukong, who despite becoming an immortal god with outstanding power and martial arts ability in the heavenly realms, because of his arrogant temper/personality is stripped of his power and thrown into the human world.

Having previously only been a spectator to the downfall of human kind, Sun Wukong falls in love with Xuanzang, who is the only person that can break the seal placed on his powers.

Cha Seungwon has already been offered, and is currently considering the role of Bull Demon King, ‘Woo Hwicheol’. The character is described as ‘appearing a successful businessman on the outside, while also being an enviable celebrity. He was unable to become a god who lives in a holy place like a cathedral, church or temple etc, but is content with becoming a existence that is envied by the masses. He is currently living in the human world without complaints as he is on his journey of becoming an immortal god with powers’.

[!] Park Bogum and Irene have been confirmed to host the 11th part of the Music Bank World Tour which will be held in Jakarta.

This will be the second time that the pair return to their positions as Music Bank MC’s post stepping down, with the two confirmed to host Music Bank in Singapore on August 4th, 2017.

[!] Park Bogum will be taking part in the ‘Infinite Challenge’ filming this week (30/3) as well.

배우 박보검이 2주 연속 MBC '무한도전'에 뜬다. 박보검은 23일 강원도 평창에서 진행된 '무한도전' 촬영에 참여했다. 스페셜 멤버로 등장해 기대감을 높였던 상황. 당시 박보검은 봅슬레이, 아이스하키, 컬링, 팀추월 등의 경기를 소화하며 멤버들과 즐거운 녹화를 마쳤다. 그리고 두 번째 녹화를 앞두고 있다. 30일 진행되는 '무한도전' 촬영 라인업에 박보검이 이름을 올리고 있는 것. 이와 관련, '무한도전' 김태호 PD는 28일 일간스포츠에 "원래 박보검과 두 번�� 촬영을 진행하는 걸로 계획했었다"고 운을 떼면서 "지난주 힘든 녹화였지만 박보검이 멤버들과 너무 잘 어우러져 멤버들이 '보검앓이'에 빠졌다"고 전했다. 이번 녹화 역시 지난 녹화를 잇는 동계올림픽 특집으로 이뤄진다.

Actor Park Bogum will be appearing on MBC ‘Infinite Challenge’ for two weeks in a row. Park Bogum participated in the ‘Infinite Challenge’ filming that took place on the 23rd in Pyeong Chang, Gangwon-do. '안시성'은 고구려의 안시성 전투를 다룬 사극 영화로 영화 '내 깡패 같은 애인'과 '찌라시: 위험한 소문'의 김광식 감독이 연출을 맡는다. 투자와 배급은 NEW가 맡았으며 드라마 '태양의 후예'를 만든 NEW의 콘텐츠 제작사 스튜디오앤뉴와 영화 '널 기다리며'와 '노 브레싱', '차우', '7급 공무원' 등을 만든 영화사 수작이 공동으로 제작한다.
