School counsellors are pivotal figures in the educational landscape, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to students as they navigate academic, personal, and social challenges. If you have a passion for helping young minds flourish, a rewarding career as a school counsellor might be the perfect fit. This article serves as a guide to becoming a school counselor, shedding light on the steps to enter this rewarding profession and outlining the benefits it offers.
Steps to Become a School Counselor
Educational Requirements: A bachelor's degree is typically the first step, followed by a master's degree in school counseling or a related field. These programs provide the necessary foundation in counseling theories, techniques, and ethics.
Licensing and Certification: Licensing requirements vary by state. Most states require a school counsellor to be licensed or certified. This often involves passing an exam and completing supervised internship hours.
Internship and Experience: Practical experience is crucial. Many programs include supervised internships in schools or other counselling settings. These experiences provide hands-on learning and a chance to apply theoretical knowledge.
Continuing Education: To stay current with best practices and evolving educational trends, ongoing professional development is essential. Attending workshops, conferences, and pursuing additional certifications enhances your skills and knowledge.
Benefits of Being a School Counsellor

Guidance for College and Careers: School counsellors assist students in exploring higher education options and career paths. They provide information about colleges, scholarships, and career opportunities, empowering students to make informed choices.
Preventing Issues: By fostering a positive and inclusive school environment, counsellors help prevent issues such as bullying, substance abuse, and dropouts. They promote understanding, empathy, and conflict resolution among students.
Building Relationships: School counsellors establish strong connections with students, parents, and teachers. These relationships foster open communication and collaboration to ensure students' holistic development.
Advocacy: Counsellors advocate for students' needs and interests within the school system. They collaborate with educators to create policies and initiatives that promote student success and well-being.
Conclusion
Becoming a school counsellor is a fulfilling journey that requires dedication, education, and a passion for making a positive impact on students' lives. The benefits of being a school counsellor extend beyond the personal satisfaction of helping young minds thrive, promote mental health, facilitate career development, foster positive school environments, and create lasting connections within the educational community. Break Point ft k. sakusa

warnings : mdni, smut, fem! bodied reader, reader has she/her pronouns, degradation, cheating, oral (m! recieving), public sex, pussy jobs, hair pulling, reader is called a good girl
song rec : fetish -selena gomez
Tumblr media
"and we're back folks! that was some first set- of course, we are in the US Open semi-finals, and it is sakusa and terushima on the court!"
the crowd roars as you adjust your sunglasses and pick up your honey deuce to take a sip, eyes trained on terushima sitting on the bench with a towel over his head. unwillingly, you find your gaze pulled towards the player on the other side of the umpire's chair, sakusa kiyoomi uncapping a bottle of electrolytes before tilting his head back and bringing the bottle to his mouth. you take another sip, watching the strong column of his throat move as he gulps his water.
"this infamous rivalry's brought everyone together today. over in terushima's box, is, of course, his beautiful girlfriend- joined by his high-school friends!"
you raise your head and smile, raising your honey deuce as the cameras pan over to your seat at the commentator's words. in the row behind you terushima's friends holler and whistle, waving a banner with his face on it.
"terushima's partner is pretty private, so it's a real treat that we managed an interview with her before the match- she's had some fun stuff to say about this rivalry and today's match."
you watch as you pop up on the big screen, dressed in the blue and white dress you'd picked out specially for this match- makeup and hair fresher than it currently was. the string of diamonds around your throat winks in the light as you nod at whatever the interviewer was saying.
"what do you think about sakusa? he's given your boyfriend quite a good amount of grief this season."
the video-you laughs at the question, red lips curling upward. "well, he's been a household name for some time now. yuji thinks more about him than about me, if we're being frank."
"do you think his victories are earned? sakusa's won 5 out of the 6 times they've met so far, and their rivalry goes way back to their juniors days."
"sakusa's definitely a really good player, and he's improved a lot since his defeat at last year's wimbledon final. i- we, yuji and i both think he's someone to watch out for, especially if he can clean up his net play a little more. he, for sure, has the potential to surpass the big 3."
the interviewer raises her eyebrows at your admission, and Arthur Ashe clamors in real time. you sink your teeth into your lower lip, as the other screen shows sakusa's reaction to your words. as usual, the man is stoic, showing no signs of having heard your praise. however, his sharp eyes are focused on the screen showing your interview, having stopped all his inter-set preparations.
"and what about terushima? do you think he can surpass the big 3?"
you're silent for a touch too long before showering yuji with praise, however it doesn't seem like anyone except you had noticed the pause. yuji's grinning from his bench on the court making kissy faces at the screen. he has everyone's attention.
you swallow, shifting your focus back to sakusa, who's no longer looking at the screen, but has his eyes trained on you, a faint smirk evident on his face. well, that pause hadn't escaped everyone's notice. kissing your teeth, you avert your eyes- taking another sip of your honey deuce. arthur ashe titters one final time before silence settles again as the players take their positions, sakusa's serve.
"and at 144 mph that's this season's fastest serve yet! i would not want to be the one who faces that serve, that's for sure."
you lean forward, taking off your sunglasses as the men enter the fifth and final set, sakusa breaking in the first game itself. you, as well as the rest of the centre court, watch with bated breaths as the game gets tense- so focused that you completely miss the dark clouds rolling in and the thunder rumbling ominously. there's not a moment of notice as the sky opens up, the downpour brutal. fat, cold raindrops assault your senses as you scramble for cover- dress already sticking and hair frizzing. making your way down the stairs into the gallery, you hear the commentators announce the official postponement of the match.
going down a level further, you push open the double doors to reach the locker rooms. surprisingly, there's no one around. there's a clang of a locker closing somewhere, and you walk towards the sound- your heels clacking loudly. turning the corner, you freeze as a pale, muscular back- scattered with moles- comes into view. sakusa kiyoomi stands with his back to you, shirtless, with his shorts riding low and a towel slung over his shoulder. at your sharp intake he turns, hooded eyes pinning you in place.
"sorry, i um- i'll just-"
you shouldn't be here. (you've been here too many times to be anywhere else.)
he says nothing but keeps his eyes on you as he towels his hair. your gaze unconsciously strays to his biceps as they flex at the motion, before snapping back to his face. he stares at you for a moment longer, before throwing his towel back into the locker and slamming the door shut. you feel heat creeping up your cheeks as he turns to you again.
"why are you here again?"
"sorry, i just- i thought-"
he keeps quiet, cocking his head to the side, waiting for you to continue. you stammer once more before shutting up.
"sorry. i'll leave."
you feel a lump in your throat at his curt words, but you have no right to be upset. you know that very well. you're almost at the corner when his words cause you to stop.
"the big three?"
you pause, memories of younger kiyoomi talking about his dreams flashing through your mind. swallowing, you turn around.
"you know you could do it. coming from me it means nothing."
"nothing?"
you pause again, feeling your neck prickle with heat against his intense stare. he hasn't moved an inch, yet you feel cornered- like prey.
"it should mean nothing."
he scoffs at this, taking a step closer.
"is that what helps you sleep at night? do you say it before you slip your hand into your panties imagining it's my dick inside you, or do you say it after- as long as there's no guilty conscious right?"
you blink at his words, before retorting sharply, "kiyo you can't speak to me like that, watch your words-"
"so i'm kiyo again? what happened to sakusa? you said it so sweetly in the interview. i'm a regular at your perfect white picket fence household, right?"
you step back, hitting a locker, unaware that you'd been backing up. he's in front of you before you can blink, pressing up against you, one hand gripping your waist the other flat against the locker beside your head. leaning closer his breath fans across your face as he pants, still breathing deeply from his match.
"you show up- as you always do when he's playing against me- wearing the dress i bought you, the dress i fucked you in- wrapped in diamonds i bought you, diamonds that rest where my hands used to-
and that's fine. that's perfectly fine. but showing up here? in this locker room? and saying your words mean nothing to me?"
you whimper, eyes falling shut as he grips your face, smearing your lipstick with his thumb. the scent of his cologne mixed with his sweat crowds your senses, dimming them. slipping his thumb into your mouth he presses against your tongue. you obediently part your mouth, pressing your thighs to relieve some of the pressure. sakusa scoffs again, slotting his thigh between your legs, allowing you to press down and rut against him.
"what a slut, do you get wet like this for everyone? or am i just special baby? do you let every fucker who plays against your darling boyfriend feel you up in the locker room? does the idea of you getting fucked by someone he'll lose against turn him on too?"
your eyes roll back as you moan, sliding a hand to your breast, before it's snatched back by kiyoomi, pinned against the locker. his touch is too familiar for you to consider him as sakusa, he's always been your kiyo.
"you're going to get off humping my leg like a dog in heat baby, i know you can do it," he coos, grip on your face tightening.
you whimper at his words, grinding down harder. everything feels so hot, with kiyoomi pressing his body against you- weight heavy. his scent is everywhere.
"actually- i don't think you deserve that."
your eyes fly open as he shifts his thigh and moves away, leaving you cold and slumped against the lockers. you breathe heavily, fingers scrambling for purchase behind you to keep yourself upright.
you open your mouth to say something, anything- but you draw blank. what can you even say?
kiyoomi stands still in front of you, arms crossed- but with his shorts tenting it's clear he's not entirely unaffected. his dark eyes remain fixed on you, but he says nothing. the two of you remain suspended like this for a few heartbeats. you see his adam's apple bob as he swallows once, twice- before taking a step back.
"you should leave. he's probably waiting for you."
you should leave. he's definitely waiting for you.
you nod slowly, straightening your spine. taking a deep breath, you reach for your bag which you had dropped sometime during and dig through it for a tissue. your makeup must be a mess.
glancing back at kiyoomi you pause- watching as he sinks down on a bench and leans back to rest on his elbows. his legs part as he breathes, chest rising- erection still straining against his shorts.
the sight is so familiar, your heart aches. your mouth feels dry as he drops his head back, revealing the strong column of his neck.
your panties stick uncomfortably, pussy still throbbing. your breasts feel heavy as you drop your bag again, turning towards him. heat trickles down your spine as you reach for the zipper of your dress, unable to move your eyes from his physique. your dress pools by your feet as you step out of it, now dressed in nothing but your panties, heels, and his diamonds.
kiyoomi still hasn't moved.
teeth sinking into your lower lip, you reach to unbuckle your heels, your brain on autopilot. now barefoot, you pad towards kiyo, sinking to your knees in between his parted legs.
you should leave.
you reach forward to mouth at kiyo's erection, pressing open-mouthed kisses on his cock through the fabric. above you kiyo still hasn't moved, but he sighs, carding a hand through your hair. pressing a hand to his thigh for balance, you move to pull him out, continuing to mouth at his shaft. leaning forward you take him in your mouth, slowly easing him in until you feel him hit the back of your throat. eyes watering, you breath slowly, sucking him the way you know he likes it. you feel kiyo tug at your roots, and you look up at him, eyes locking. his eyes are hooded and impossibly dark, mouth bitten red as he pants.
"my pretty girl, so good for me, only for me," he slurs, grip on your hair tightening. you moan, taking him deeper, swallowing him. kiyo groans, head tipping back again. you slip your hand into your panties, desperate for some friction, moaning again. before you can move however, you find yourself being lifted straight up onto his lap.
now straddling him, your pussy slides against his dick, as you grasp his shoulders for purchase.
"you just couldn't stay away could you? what a filthy little whore. what would those reporters say if they could see you now, hmm? tennis's favourite girlfriend is nothing but a cock hungry slut, but not for her boyfriend, no- for her boyfriend's rival," he coos.
"kiyo, fuck," you whimper, everything is too much.
he moves you again, this time standing up to push you against the locker once again. your legs tremble as you lean back. he slaps your tits, as you jerk, gasping.
"kiyokiyokiyo, please," you whine, unsure what exactly you want him to do. yanking your panties down, he pumps his cock once, before tapping the head against your clit. bullying the head between your lips, he groans, rutting against you.
slapping your tits once again, he grips his cock, inhaling sharply- and he cums all over you pussy and panties. you whine again, reaching to pull his head down, needing to kiss him.
"fuck. fuck, you're so-," he pants into your neck. you nod deliriously, you need to cum so badly it hurts.
the doors clang loudly.
"yo, sakusa, you in here? the weather's cleared up, they're sayin' if it's cool with the both of us we can continue in 30 minutes."
the two of you spring apart, alarm bells ringing in your mind as you pull up your panties. rushing to your dress, you struggle to put it on.
kiyo shoots you one last look, before calling out, "sure man, you mind letting them know on my behalf? i'll be right up."
the footsteps stop just you're stumbling into your shoes.
"of course my guy, no problem."
the doors open again, and you sigh in relief.
"say, you wouldn't have seen my girl anywhere, would you? she's disappeared."
you freeze again, but sakusa's moving past you now, rounding the corner with his tennis bag hung over his shoulder.
"nah, haven't seen her."

Southern gn!MC spoils the brothers with their cooking
Characters: Lucifer, Mammon and Beel (x reader, separately. Non established relationship, but there's a hint of romantic interest)
Main Masterlist
Anon request: Can I get a southern gn!MC that loves to spoil the brothers with their cooking? Low and slow BBQ, TexMex, Cajun cuisine, they make it all and they do so amazingly
A/N: mind you, I'm not even american
.
They’re all used to fast food and globally-liked dishes; Mammon’s favourite food is noodles, Levi’s is pizza and Beel’s is a cheeseburger, after all. The rest prefer desserts, so the only brother who deviates to something slightly different is Belphie, but even sushi is widely known and shared in all the realms.
Being as old as they are, yours is a cuisine they’ve already tried, but it obviously didn’t stick. Perhaps it was due to flavour being lost in culture differences or Devildom cooks using other ingredients to follow the recipes, or maybe there was a whole different reason.
Whichever it was, they all had to forget it when you started living with them.
It quickly became clear that not only you preferred certain foods and spices, but you also cooked them to perfection.
Buttery seafood and tender meat that fall apart in their mouths and sauces that leave them gasping for fresh air; other dishes are tamer and fresher, but no less flavourful.
Although they thoroughly savour everything you put on their table, it inevitably comes the day when they feel the need to discuss the idea of asking you for some variety in their private group chat, unaware of your ability to read those messages.
Imagine their surprise when they gather for dinner at the House of Lamentation that same day and a whole feast is waiting for their enjoyment.
It’s a gift of appreciation, you say, a way to show your love for them.
How could they ask for anything different after that?
Lucifer
His heart warms at the idea of being taken care of and he won’t have any problem showing this sentiment as long as you both are alone.
While he compliments your talent and thanks your efforts along with his brothers in the dining room, Lucifer won’t ever let them see the way his smirk turns into an adoring smile whenever you enter his office with a tray full of plates.
Skipping family meals isn’t something he’s keen on doing, but spending time just with you almost makes him change his mind.
On days when he’s unable to finish paperwork on time, what gives him the energy to keep going is the knowledge that, once you finish dinner with his brothers, you’ll prepare an obscene amount of food so he won’t go to bed hungry.
He will wait for your foot to knock on the door, hands too occupied to do the job, and he will quickly preen himself before opening the door, gaze softening in anticipation.
He invites you to sit with him while he eats and he puts quite the effort in asking how you learnt to cook like this. Does your upbringing have anything to do with it? Did someone teach you or is it a self-taught skill?
While he shows great interest in the food, he hopes you realize that the spice isn’t what’s making him blush so much.
Mammon
Being insulted by his brothers is a common occurrence in his life, but that doesn’t mean it hurts any less. Some words cut deeper than others and, on certain occasions when he’s already feeling down, they even take his hunger away.
It’s late at night when you hear noises coming from the kitchen and Beel’s is the first face that crosses your mind, so you tiredly get up and prepare yourself to stop the elder twin before he eats the leftovers.
To your surprise, what peaks over the fridge door isn’t strands of red hair, but white.
Although Mammon’s figure is covered by shadows, you can see his sombre expression thanks to the light inside the fridge; reddened eyes searching for something to settle his rumbling stomach.
Your actions are moved by instinct.
There’s no way of making your presence known without scaring him, but at least you can share a couple of awkward chuckles after he shrieks like a banshee. He tries to play it cool and turns around to hide his embarrassment, so you both take the chance and also ignore the sadness in his frown.
He watches as you take a couple of containers with different food and prepare dinner again, this time just for him. It’s healing, kind of, witnessing someone putting so much work and effort into making him feel better.
You’re sleepy, your speech is slurred and your movements are slow, but you are also making sure his food looks somewhat presentable and appetizing. You reheat it and stop the microwave before it bleeps and you’re smiling at him the whole time.
Half-serious and half-joking, he makes you swear you will only do this for him from now on.
Cooking when it’s your turn and enjoying what you do in the kitchen is one thing, but going out of your way to feed him?
That’s something you’d only do for your First Man!
Beel
He would thank you out loud, but he’s too busy crying tears of joy.
His expectations aren’t set at any point when you cook for the first time since he has already eaten everything in existence and even more, so the moment he starts to chew the first mouthful his mind goes blank for a moment.
In mere seconds his eyes darken and he sets his elbows on the table to prepare himself.
There’s no way anyone is getting seconds.
Although Mammon is the one in charge of your safety, your cooking makes bonding with Beel way easier and faster.
You are more than happy to satiate his hunger, wishing to show your affection through your skill and flattered by his immense appreciation, so the kitchen becomes a sacred place for you both.
He stares at you intensely with focused eyes and drool filling his mouth, anticipating the texture and flavour of every ingredient you are stirring and flipping in the pots and pans.
Conversations are short and simple, but you are unable to blame him.
There’s no need to talk anyway when he smiles at you like that each time you turn around and feed him scraps and samples to satiate his sin while you’re cooking.
Over time, even when every corner of the house smells like charcoal, spice and a little bit of sweetness underneath, his stomach stops feeling as empty as before.
He won’t ever reject anything you put in front of him, especially when you talk so lovingly with eyes so bright, but he will find that, as days come and go, his need for more focuses on something entirely different.

As Iron Sharpens Iron
"As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another" Proverbs 27:17
Beta-read by @dragonrider9905
Tumblr media
Chapter 5:
Previous // Next
Warnings: Hurt feelings and misunderstandings.
--------------------------------------------------
You felt like you were going to throw up.
“....useful asset… reckless…. irritable… not a member of the team to me…”
You'd gotten back to the ship earlier than planned, entering quietly as not to wake Omega. You froze upon hearing your name in Hunter's voice and then in Tech’s. It felt wrong, listening in to a private conversation, but you couldn't stop the way your heart sped up, sending butterflies swirling about your stomach upon hearing Hunter's voice. He sounded confused, upset even. So against your better judgment, you stayed. Now you wished you hadn't.
Is that really what they think of me? Reckless, irresponsible. An asset.
Not even a member of the team. An asset.
You curled into the pillow, hidden away behind the thick curtains that Wrecker had hung around your bunk.
Probably so that they wouldn't have to see me - so that they can just forget I'm here until I'm useful.
Tears burned hot, soaking the pillow in a silent grief. It hurt. You thought you'd finally found a home - finally found where you belonged. Now you knew that was a lie.
First Hunter. Now the whole squad.
The jagged remains of wishful hope that still lingered in your chest fractured further, splintering like glass.
You could still see it clearly. Though it was only a glimpse caught in nanoseconds, the sight of it branded itself behind your eyes like a hot iron. Hunter and Tara, lips locked in a moment of passion. Her fingers tangled in his hair. His hand on her waist.
The datapad lying forgotten on the bunk at your feet chimed loudly, drawing you back into the moment with a start. Almost instinctively, your fingers curled into fists, hands shaking, nearly drawing blood as your fingernails dug against the skin of your palm, clenching ever tighter until the skin around your knuckles turned white. Another mission. Echo must’ve been out at Cid’s. You scrolled through the dossier he’d sent, annoyance flashing across your face. They’d already assumed you’d be ready and able like nothing had happened.
Nothing has happened - at least not to them.
It was so easy to forget that all the turbulence that boiled under your skin was simply a product of your own mind.
One more mission. One more day.
You’d give them this. One last mission because you couldn’t bear to let them down. No matter what they thought of you, the love you felt for this squad was still there scrambling in a desperately futile attempt to repair the shattered pieces of hope that stubbornly refused to leave. Hope like that was dangerous. You’d only get hurt again - yet it continued to fight back.
But what if…
No.
Could it have been a misunderstanding?
No. Stop.
Am I overreacting for nothing?
If you keep this up you’ll just end up worse than before. Just accept that you don’t belong here. One last mission then you’ll leave.
But I don’t want to go…
Yes you do. It’s better this way.
Taking a deep breath, you wiped your face and quickly headed to the fresher keeping your eyes down lest anyone see the telling red-rimmed, swollen eyes and splotchy patches adorning your face.
It’s all professional now. This is just another job. The mission comes before all else. Emotions get you killed.
The cool water soothed the heat of your skin. You stared into the mirror making no attempts to dry the wet dripping down your face, allowing it to wash away all evidence of hurt. It was surprisingly easy to allow yourself to slip back into the gruff bounty hunter facade you’d kept up for so long before joining the Batch.
Focus on the task at hand. Get the job done.
Sitting back down on the bed, you drew the curtains again and unlocked the small trunk that held what little belongings you had. Sitting inside was the trooper doll companion you were making for Omega - stuffed with one of Hunter's old bandanas. It was only half finished.
And probably won’t ever be now, you thought as you picked it up, fingers running gently over the soft material. The tears threatened to come again at the thought of a memory that was no longer yours to make.
Something stuck out from beneath an extra jacket. Against your better judgment, you pulled it out and sighed. A bittersweet nostalgia knotted your stomach. There you were beside Hunter - Omega squeezed between you, smiling proudly despite the grime that covered her tunic. It was her first training exercise. You smiled proudly down at her. Even Hunter sported some semblance of a grin.
The fingertips encroaching on the sides of the image denoted Wrecker as the camera operator. Tech and Echo engaged in ship repairs in the background.
What you wouldn't give to go back to that time. Everything seemed simpler then.
Swallowing hard, you put the holopic back at the bottom of the trunk, covering it fully with the jacket. You shoved the remainder of your supplies into your pack and shut the trunk, letting the lock click into place with a resounding finality.
Clenching your teeth, you took a deep breath. One more mission. One more day.

The Company of Thorin Oakenshield On Vacation
Fili is the first to get stopped in the metal detector for carrying knives
Ori also gets stopped but that’s just because he's wearing overalls
Bifur gets stopped at the metal detector too for obvious reasons, but he just sighs and waits for Bofur to pull his doctor’s note out
Nori’s carry on bag gets stopped because his bottle of hair gel is over the 100 ml limit
Stirs up a fuss when he won’t throw it away
Balin has to step in and resolve the conflict that’s literally his job description in Erebor
Kili looks at the arrival/departure screens and sees that a flight got canceled and just immediately assumes it was theirs
Convinces half the dwarves they need to go back before Bilbo actually bothers to double check
Gandalf claims he “accidentally” booked himself in first class while all the others are in economy although he honestly deserves it after the stress of trying to get every dwarf on the plane
Gandalf also “accidentally” booked all the dwarves seats in the very back of the plane
He gets a Thorin Glare™ when they figure this out
Kili claims he needs to sit by the window so he doesn’t get nauseous but really he just likes to look at the clouds (and stars!)
Oin is out COLD before the plane even takes off
The others pretend not to be jealous he can fall asleep so easily
Bombur usually falls asleep quickly but makes sure to stay awake because he’s excited for the free snacks is very disappointed when he realizes it’s only a tiny bag of pretzels
Gloin’s seat accidentally got switched so he’s sitting in the front of the plane next to a middle aged couple
He doesn’t care but soon gets them into a conversation about their children
Talks for hours about his own son Gimli(!!!)
The couple absolutely loves him and by the end of the flight Gloin gets invited to their daughter’s wedding
Fili reaches over and presses the call flight attendant button on Ori’s seat
Ori is extremely embarrassed and flustered when the flight attendant comes over and apologizes for bothering her so many times that it starts being awkward and the flight attendant just slowly backs away
Bilbo reads a book for the entire flight like the nerd he is
Bofur nearly gets kicked off the plane after trying to start a group song doesn’t understand why the other passengers wouldn’t join in
Dori claps when the plane lands
FIli and Kili join him as a joke and start cheering loudly
Dwalin hits the back of their seats but can’t do much more because security’s been watching him since he arrived
Thorin has the darkest circles under his eyes because this man has MAJOR insomnia
Tried to fall asleep the entire 10 hour flight and only got 5 consecutive minutes also couldn’t sleep the night before
Is officially in his Grumpy Cat Era™ because he hasn’t slept in 36 hours and is dealing with a LOT of travel stress
Falls asleep in the car on the way to the hotel
There aren’t enough seats in the rental car so they just stuff Fili and Kili in the trunk don’t worry it was their idea
Bilbo is driving
Gandalf tried to be the driver but his drivers license was revoked years ago
Balin tries to tell the company about cool landmarks they pass on the way to the hotel but everyone is so tired no one responds
He doesn’t seem to notice and will continue giving a history lesson the entire drive
Bilbo runs over a pothole and Fili and Kili hit the ceiling with a loud THWACK
No one bothers to check on them until they get to the hotel sorry not sorry
Bonus:
Thranduil and Legolas are the ones who wear full suits to get on an airplane Legolas tries to get out of this but is told he will be disowned if he wears sweats
They are also the kind of people who will get off of a 15 hour red eye looking fresher than a daisy
Have to avoid paparazzi in the airport
They bring Tauriel with them for crowd control
Can definitely afford a private plane but don’t get one because of the high carbon emissions remember elves are the biggest tree huggers

Bringing us back to fallen petals vampires:
Does Ruby become Cinder’s personal blood bank? And how does that start?
The existence of vampires are no longer a secret. In fact, they have integrated themselves into everyday- er night, civilian life. Blood and whatever synthetic alternative there is sold just like any other human food. But of course there are institutions for vampire who seek fresher food in a more intimate setting. Certain clubs are exclusively for vampires, simply because all of the humans who work there are free game, food for whenever the cravings take them. But if a vampire doesn't want to share, wants their meal for themselves with some added dessert, then the private rooms are always available.
But not every vampire is keen on integrating into human society. These recluses still need to feed of course and they can't exactly hold live-stock anymore.
Ruby Rose, a human short on money and mounting piles of debt, whether it is for her studies or her mother's medical treatment, searches around on the web for a vampire looking for some house calls. One of the listings catches her eye, simply because she recognises the address as being for the old mansion in the countryside just out of Patch. As far as Ruby knew, the place was a small museum which closed long ago.
Ruby thought that once she got the side-job then that would be the end of it. But no, there was to be an interview. Nothing that couldn't be done over a call or email, right? But the woman had to physically go to the location, expecting to meet the woman she'd be... serving food to. Instead she talked to Emerald, a vampire much older than the ones you'd see out and about at night, but still knowledgeable enough about the modern world to ask how Ruby would get around, what her job was, her education, things you'd ask during a normal job interview. But then it all shifts to more... odd questions.
'What is your diet like?'
'What wouldn't you eat?'
'Any allergies?'
'Would you be willing to change your diet to suit the Mistress' taste?'
'What is your menstrual cycle like?'
'Are you on any medication?'
'Do you exercise?'
'How often?'
'Which muscles do you excercise?'
'Have you had sex before?'
'Are you currently sexually active?'
'Are you comfortable with the Mistress' feeding from where ever she desires.'
And while some of these should have all kinds of sirens going off in her head, Ruby needs the money and by the gods is she getting paid a ridiculous amount for three hours of her time once a week.
The interview ends with Ruby giving Emerald a vial of her blood and a temporary diet plan. Rare red meat with whole grains, over a fig and date compot finsihed off with a honey and cinnamon infused tea. The ingredients, all paid for by her 'employer' of course.
So Ruby accepts and tells family that she's taken to tutoring a student for extra cash every Thursday evening after work. She wouldn't dare mention that she has essentially become a blood bag for a vampire, all of which they despise since it is one of those very creatures responsible for the condition Summer is in.
Ruby is naturally nervous on her first night. The sun had set an hour ago and there wasn't much h else to do than wait in one of the drawing rooms and stare at the different artefacts and trinkets kept on displays and bookshelves.
When the Mistress of the house entered an natural chill quickly followed. Suddenly the air was thick, heavy, threatening to choke upon each breath. With Ruby being nothing but a bundle of nerves in the wake of unbearable silence as the woman made Her way across the room, sitting down on the couch next to her and toying with her hair, she couldn't help but to say something.
"Uh. Hi. I'm- my name is Ruby."
Ruby had seen vampires before. Of course she only knew them by the sight of their teeth. Otherwise they were nearly identical to humans. It no wonder they were able to hide for as long as they did.
But this woman -this vampire- was something else. Her eyes seemed to glow in the candle-lit room, her fingers were longer, her smile wide enough for it to look uncanny and her teeth...
Where most vampires were made to drink blood, this woman was made to devour. Upper and bottom incisors were flanked by glinting canies which reached well past the inside of her lips, only unscathed with the full extention of her jaw. Just like a snake, Ruby feared she'd be swallowed whole or suffocated, locked in place by sharpened molars which were but teasing pricks in comparison to the canies which had her neck in a vice-grip. Ruby could feel her whole body go rigid. Everything felt cold except for the searing burn streaming from her neck. Even more frightening was the intensity of which the vampire took to feeding, drinking as if she hadn't had a drop of water in days. The rumble in her chest, completely involuntary, something dark and primal.
Something inhuman.

Hi!! I'd quite like to ask about Dogma'a Rulebook please! (Also Fuck me in the arse tonight because that title!!!)
Lmao, I was waiting for someone to ask about that!
Dogma's Rulebook is another fic from my old co-author. They wrote about 3ish chapters before jumping to another midnight idea. Minor editing has occurred with this one but I'll be honest, I haven't read it in a while.
General premise is about Dogma's transition from the front lines, after umbara, into the guard. It covers his introduction, his relationships with his new squad, the commanders, and a possible love interest via civilian- though Im thinking about cutting that character as his main purpose was simply cuddle piles.
Here is a section that I have deemed Safe for Public Consumption:
"The barracks themselves were not much different then the ones on the Resolute, although there were many more bunks with space to spare, and even a large window on one side. The Commander starts talking to Dogma again, something along the lines of the freshers being in the back and some trooper habits. The large window has several mattresses placed in front of it, along with a veritable nest of pillows and blankets. The bunks that they were scavenged from have been fashioned into shelves with everything from holopads to odd plants stored in their cubbies. These bits of improvised furniture create a sort of room within a room, blocking off the view to most other bunks, and with the evening sun it all looks rather peaceful.
A firm hand clapping his shoulder brings Dogma back to conversation, Commander Thorn is wrapping up his welcome speech it seems. “Remember the other vode here can help you find anything, you’ll start on basic patrols with your assigned group after tomorrow, get some rest Private.” Dogma nods, he hasn’t used more than a handful of words on the way here and he wasn’t about to change that, hopefully it wouldn’t seem too disrespectful to the Commander. Honestly Dogma isn’t usually this wrapped up in his own head, but ever since Umbara he’s been distracted more and more lately, usually by the smallest things too."
Like I said, old work, needs major edits. I'm not sure if I'm going to keep it as Dogma is not one of my main characters for this AU.

Hehehehe, Fuck me in the Ass Tonight
That is the Working Title for the Ongoing Chat-fic Landline Across the Galaxy posted on my AO3. Currently, I had to change the working title to Funk Me on the Dance Floor cause I work on that doc at work a lot lmao.
This is an Information/Gossip Chat started by Jesse. It features characters that I don't normally see in most CloneWars chat fics, as well as some OCs of mine to add to the chaos. Landline has the heavy job of Connecting all of my WIPs and Posted Fics together into a general timeline, as well as providing Lore and another perspective on the canon events.
Oh, and memes
Never forget the memes
Here is a section from the unposted Plans for new chapters:
"Ahsoka: JESSE'S GOT SPACE INSTAGRAM AND NOBODY TOLD ME!!
Jesse: SOKA, HUSH
Ahsoka: YOU FOLLOWED AND UNFOLLOWED BARRIS, I'M GOING TO KNOW
Jesse: IT WAS A MISTAP, I APOLOGIZED
Ahsoka: ACCEPT MY FOLLOW, YOU COWARD
Ahsoka: WHY BOTHER WITH A PRIVATE ACCOUNT ANYWAY
Jesse: I WANT YOU TO LOOK AT THUS CHAT, AND ASK THAT AGAIN
Ahsoka: ….
Ahsoka: okay, true
Ahsoka: BUT U STILL DNT TRLL ME
Jesse: have you considered that maybe I don't want ppl seeing what I post?
Ahsoka: Jesse
Ahsoka: You have 3500 followers…

Ahdoka: LET ME IN
Jesse: NEVER
[Kix is now Online.]
Kix: And this is why I have this commline muted
[Comet is now Online.]
Comet: Jesse… Why are you shirtless in your profile picture…
Kix: >:("
Yes, I normally write snippets for this fic while sleep deprived and watching vines. I am /hilarious/

Ted Danson was 34 when Cheers debuted in the fall of 1982, on the younger side for a TV star at the time. That season’s top 10 highest-rated shows included a few other thirtysomething leads in Tom Selleck on Magnum, P.I. and John Ritter in Three’s Company, but for the most part, the hits of the small screen were built around actors in their fifties (Larry Hagman on Dallas, George Peppard on The A-Team) or sixties (John Forsythe in Dynasty, Jane Wyman in Falcon Crest). By the time Cheers ended a dozen years later, Danson was well into middle age, at a moment when the faces on television were about to get much, much fresher. As advertisers came to believe that the most valuable (and persuadable) audiences to reach were below the age of 35, and as shows with younger, conventionally attractive casts like Friends and Melrose Place became huge hits, the business went full Ponce de León, convinced that an on-camera Fountain of Youth would bring with it a flood of new money. Danson didn’t stop working during this era, but his two post-Cheers sitcoms, Ink and Becker, were made for CBS, a network with an older audience that kept trying to convince advertisers that people with gray hair had money to spend, too — and even there, Danson was dyeing his own increasingly white locks the brown color he naturally sported in his earlier career.
When his latest series, A Man on the Inside, debuted on Netflix, Danson was a few weeks away from turning 77. Where once he had been asked to minimize the signs of his aging, now he was starring in a show where aging is the whole subject matter. Danson plays Charles Nieuwendyk, a former college professor whose life feels completely empty following the death of his wife and his retirement from teaching. He is running out the string, getting up in the morning only because it seems like the thing to do. It’s only the prodding of his daughter, plus a job offer from a private detective who needs help investigating a jewel theft at a retirement community, that gets him out into the world again. He makes new friends at the retirement home, discovers that lots of people his own age are leading full and complicated lives, and realizes there are more adventures he’d like to have while he still can.
It’s fun, lovely show, and one that feels like a culmination of a trend that’s been building up over the last decade, where TV has once again learned to embrace and even celebrate older people and the stories they have to tell.
Our great senior citizen actors didn’t exactly vanish from the small screen during the great Adults 18-34 demographic gold rush. They just generally wound up being supporting players in shows led by less seasoned performers. We still have plenty of those of late, including 82-year-old Harrison Ford in support of Jason Segel on Shrinking. But there’s been an ever-so-gradual welcoming of older players back to center stage, often at more advanced ages than was the norm even in a less age-conscious era(*).
(*) It doesn’t always seem that way, because people — famous people, especially — age differently now than they did in mid-to-late 20th century America. Buddy Ebsen was only 65 when he first played Seventies private detective Barnaby Jones, and Jimmy Stewart was only 63 when he got a short-lived, self-titled NBC sitcom around the same time, but both men looked substantially older than Danson and many of the septuagenarian actors we’ll be talking about in a moment.
Tumblr media
This gradual re-graying started out, ironically, in an area of the business generally held up as forward-thinking and youthful: streaming. In 2015, Netflix debuted Grace and Frankie, in which former co-stars Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin, then in their mid- to late-seventies, played retirees who become close after their husbands leave them to have an affair with each other. It ran for seven seasons — among the longest runs ever for a straight-to-streaming series — and served as a strong reminder that Fonda and Tomlin were just as good a team as they’d been decades earlier in the feminist film comedy 9 to 5. A few years later, Netflix debuted a male counterpart of sorts in The Kominsky Method, starring Michael Douglas and Alan Arkin as, respectively, a famous acting teacher and his longtime agent and friend; it only ran three seasons, in part because Arkin (who was 84 before the series began) didn’t return after the second. Still, the existence of both shows, and the longevity of Grace and Frankie, spoke to an unexpected side effect of the streaming revolution: With no advertisers to appease (at least not in the 2010s), demographics became meaningless. All that mattered were eyeballs, and what drove subscriptions. If someone who had loved Fonda since Barefoot in the Park and Arkin since Catch-22 wanted to sign up for Netflix to watch them, they were a data point, and dollar amount, equivalent to a Stranger Things-obsessed teen.
Soon, other streamers followed. Hacks,on what was then called HBO Max, gave Jean Smart the best role of her career in legendary stand-up comedian Deborah Vance, struggling to stay relevant in her twilight years. Hulu had an acclaimed hit with Only Murders in the Building, a comedy mystery built around the contrast between millennial pop star Selena Gomez and very old pros Steve Martin and Martin Short.
The traditional broadcast networks and basic cable channels have also had notable shows with retirement-age leads in that span. Danson’s Eighties peer Selleck just wrapped up 14 seasons at the helm of CBS’ Blue Bloods. Kathy Bates is starring in a Matlock remake (that isn’t exactly a remake), more spry at 76 than Andy Griffith seemed when he first played the role at 59. (Again, we age differently now.) While Succession was an ensemble that often focused on the Roy siblings, the action all spun around what Brian Cox was doing as Logan, a senior whose refusal to cede power to the next generation echoed for plenty of viewers who are not heirs to a media empire. And Jeff Bridges and John Lithgow spent two seasons playing former spies pressed back into active duty in an FX drama literally called The Old Man. The trend has even extended to the world of unscripted TV: Where The Bachelor franchise was designed around watching young hot people look for eternal love, ABC has recently had success with a senior-citizen edition, The Golden Bachelor, while Netflix has its own senior dating show, Later Daters.
And now we have A Man on the Inside, which debuted shortly before Thanksgiving. An absolute gem, it illustrates what fertile ground there is in this phase of life, which can alternately feel precarious and full of possibility. The series, from The Good Place creator Michael Schur, has a lot of fun with how old-fashioned Danson’s Charles is, and with how some of the other residents have embraced the lack of responsibility of life in a retirement community. But it also finds enormous pathos in the various problems specific to their age, as we see residents dealing with dementia, cancer, or just plain loneliness and a sense of disconnection from a more active life spent elsewhere(*). It gives Danson some of the best and most varied material of his career, and it also takes advantage of the large and underserved collection of actors of a certain age — Sally Struthers from All in the Family, Susan Ruttan from L.A. Law, character actors Stephen McKinley Henderson and John Goetz — who are all clearly eager to show that they’ve still got it.
(*) The one area that the series — and these shows about older characters in general — seems wary of is mobility issues. The retirement community not having any prominent residents who use a wheelchair, scooter, walker, or even cane is the elder comedy equivalent of the Friends being able to afford palatial Manhattan apartments while working subsistence jobs in their mid-twenties.
That eagerness to prove that advancing years haven’t slowed anyone’s comic timing, nor curbed their ability to make you cry — and that, in fact, some of them have only gotten better at their craft with age — is palpable throughout all of these shows, and many of the others spotlighting older actors in some way. At 82, Ford seems livelier, funnier, and more vulnerable on Shrinking than he has in any film role in a terribly long time. On Matlock, Bates is playing a woman who takes advantage of everyone underestimating her as a non-threatening granny type. Anyone who has seen Bates play Annie Wilkes in Misery would never make the same mistake, but there’s nonetheless a sly joy to her performance, as she takes pleasure in getting over on the younger people around her. (She has also said this will be her final acting role before retirement, and she’s clearly giving it her all.) Steve Martin and the other Only Murders writers try to give him at least one big slapstick set piece a season, just as a reminder that the guy who once wrestled with Tomlin for control of the same body in the 1984 comedy All of Me still has some looseness in his joints.
Tumblr media
Even as streamers have introduced ad-supported tiers, the business hasn’t fled back to the safety of stars who don’t yet need a daily cholesterol pill. Some of this comes from recent studies that have shown that older Americans have a good amount of disposable income, an eagerness to spend it, and a greater willingness to switch brands than was previously believed. Some is that for viewers below a certain age, television is no longer the automatic default entertainment option; if older viewers are more likely to be the ones watching TV, there’s some security to giving them stars they already know and love. But many of these shows, like Hacks and Only Murders, also have robust, vocal support from audiences far younger than the main characters. Between prestige-TV fatigue, and the general crumminess of the world at the moment, is it surprising that some viewers who aren’t yet of a certain age are gravitating towards comfort-food stories featuring the stars of yesteryear?(*)
(*) Also? Before TV became so demo-conscious, series about older characters often did just fine with younger viewers. In the Eighties, The Golden Girls was worshipped by many kids and teens for whom the idea of retiring to Florida wasn’t even a dot on the horizon.
It helps, of course, that these shows are often great. Jean Smart has won a comedy actress Emmy for all three seasons of Hacks so far, and may have a stranglehold on the award until that series ends. Bates has a not-insignificant chance of adding a third Emmy to her mantel for Matlock, and if anyone’s going to dethrone Jeremy Allen White for comedy lead actor — no less for doing genuinely comedic work (along with some dramatic) — maybe it will be Danson, going to the podium for the first time since the end of Cheers?
A Man on the Inside has been renewed for a second season, and the first ended with Charles agreeing to help the detective on a new case, presumably one that will involve going undercover with a new group of fellow seniors. The gleam in Danson’s eye in that final moment suggested a show, and an actor, with many exciting years left. There’s a sense of possibility for him, and for this unlikely but deeply satisfying TV subgenre. Hopefully, we get lots more like it.
