Emmy Lou Packard Wood & Linocut ‘California Morning’ ca.1950s.
(Packard (1914-1998) was a painter, printmaker, and muralist in San Francisco, California. Packard lived in Mexico City in the late 1920s. In 1940-1941, she worked as Diego Rivera's painting assistant on his giant fresco for the World's Fair in San Francisco. Subsequently, she spent a year in Mexico with Rivera and Frida Kahlo.She was a prolific artist and had exhibitions at the San Francisco Museum of Art, the Raymond and Raymond Gallery (S. F.), the Addison Gallery of American Art (Andover, MA), Connecticut Academy of Fine Arts, the Pushkin Museum (St. Petersburg), and the March Gallery, Chicago.She has received numerous awards for her painting and print work.)

but what use is it to subvert something if there isnt anything at stakes per se? im sure there is something to problematize but approaching my (hopefully) final semester in undergrad i guess i am only just opening up to the possibilities of what printmaking is to me. i am Definitely Not comfortable or confident in prospects of grad school yet but i hope to reach some refined interest in it enough that it could be something i can pursue in the future

Until November 10th The Samuel Dorsky Museum of Art will be showing their annual Hudson Valley artists exhibit. Vernon Bryon, an Alum of the SUNY New Paltz Printmaking Department, will be showing two pieces in the museum which are part of the larger show entitled Screen Play curated by Daniel Belasco.
