Her brow furrowed as she felt the slight shift of the bed as another climbed beneath the blankets beside her. Rolling onto her other side, a smile came to her lips as she realised who it was. "Was your own bed not good enough?" she quietly teased, moving closer to him and resting her head upon his shoulder.

A smirk flickered across the young captain's lips when she saw him. It did not matter to her that they were in the middle of a corridor where anyone could walk by and see. Quickly closing the distance between them, she took a handful of the front of his tunic, pulling him close and pressing her lips firmly to his in a passionate kiss, a satisfied sigh escaping her as she did so.

[Legolas very calmly and gently braids Thranduil's hair.]

     Thranduil was on the edge of breaking down. It had happened before— though he was careful to keep such episodes private— and he knew, though this time he felt there would be nothing he could do to prevent it.

          One too many times he had been pushed beyond his breaking point, it seemed.

     Then he felt the gentle tugging on his hair, and oh was he ready to tear open whoever dared be so invasive at a time like this. Until, that is, when he turned his head and saw his son.

     And now the tears built up on the edges of his eyelids, but they where a whole different variety than he had felt before. They contained not rage and pain, but rather love for his son. But he still would not shed these tears, for he knew they would only cause worry in Legolas.

     Slowly and reluctantly, as if afraid the motion would ruin the moment, he leaned into the contact, welcoming it wholly.

                    "Ionneg…"
