Princess Victoria Eugenia (Ena) of Battenberg and Princess Beatrice (Bee) of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha, granddaughters of Queen Victoria of United Kingdom, married into the Spanish royal family.
In 1906 Ena became the consort of King Alfonso XIII, who had been sovereign since his birth in 1886. Three years later Bee married his cousin, Infante Don Alfonso de Orleans (Ali). Ena's marriage proved unhappy with the ill-health of her haemophiliac sons and her husband's infidelities. The King abdicated in 1931, and they led separate lives in exile until he died in 1941.
Bee and her husband Ali were more popular, although personal differences between them and the King resulted in their temporary exile for the first years of their marriage, they later returned to Spain, staying there for the rest of their lives. Bee died in 1966 and Ena three years later.
This dual biography, written by Anna de Sagrera with additional material from Dona Beatriz, Bee's granddaughter, looks in depth at the friendship of the mutually supportive cousins against the often turbulent background of twentieth century Spanish politics.

Apart from the Queen of Italy, whose marriage was exceptionally brilliant, the other Princesses of Montenegro were all wedded to men with numerous advantages of position and fortune. The eldest, Militza, became the wife of the Grand Duke Peter Nicolaievitch, with whom she has been always exceptionally happy. The second, Anastasia, or Stana, after a few years of a tempestous and stormy union with Duke George of Leuchtenberg, succeeded in obtaining a divorce from him, and remarried very soon afterwards the Grand Duke Nicholas, the brother of her sister's husband and the present Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Army. As for the third one, Princess Anna, she is the consort of handsome Prince Francis Joseph of Battenberg, the brother-in-law of Princess Beatrice of Battenberg, and the most amiable man. The Princesses Xenia and Vera are still unmarried and the King is not without hope that he may yet in time arrange a union for one or the other of them with another member of the Russian Imperial Family, either one of the sons of the same Grand Duke Constantine who is the father-in-law of the Princess Hélène of Servia, or with one of the boys of Grand Duke Alexander and of the Grand Duchess Xenia, the sister of the Tsar. He has been so lucky hitherto in the establishment of his children that he is in a certain sense justified in indulging in such an ambition; and one thing is certain, and that is, that if such a marriage ever takes place it will be immensely popular in Russia, where Montenegro and its ruler are in possession of the warmest sympathies, and count far more partisans than is generally known in the rest of Europe.

The A to Z of the royal wedding
New Post has been published on https://harryandmeghan.xyz/the-a-to-z-of-the-royal-wedding/
The A to Z of the royal wedding
Here’s an A to Z of Princess Eugenie’s forthcoming royal wedding:
The Queen’s granddaughter is marrying tequila brand-ambassador Jack Brooksbank at St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle on October 12.
Andrew – Proud father the Duke of York, the Queen’s third child, will walk his youngest daughter down the aisle.
Andrew and his daughter Eugenie (Steve Parsons/PA)
Beatrice – Eugenie’s big sister Beatrice is her maid of honour. The sisters are very close, but had their worst ever fight when one stole the other’s Converse trainers, they revealed to British Vogue magazine.

— British Vogue (@BritishVogue) August 2, 2018
Carriage – The bride and groom will take a carriage ride through Windsor after the ceremony but will not go up the Long Walk like the Duke and Duchess of Sussex did when they married in the same venue in May.

Days – The celebration is said to be lasting two days, beginning with the church service, day reception and evening reception on the Friday and continuing with further festivities throughout Saturday.
Eugenie – The 28-year-old bride is the Queen’s granddaughter and ninth in line to the throne.  She is an associate director of an art gallery and also patron of several charities.

Fergie – The mother of the bride is Sarah, Duchess of York, formerly Sarah Ferguson, and dubbed Fergie.  For years, she was cast into the royal wilderness, amid her split from the Duke of York, and the various scandals that ensued.

Green – The bride and groom are committing to having an environmentally friendly wedding by making it anti-plastic.

Heirloom – Will the Queen loan Eugenie one of her tiaras for her big day or will the princess wear the York tiara worn by her mother at her wedding in 1986?

Invites – Some 800 people, 200 more than at Harry and Meghan’s nuptials– will gather in St George’s Chapel, and attend the afternoon reception afterwards, hosted by the Queen in St George’s Hall. Around 1,200 members of the public have been given balloted invites to the castle’s Lower Ward, as have charity representatives, children from Eugenie’s old schools, and Royal Household staff.

Jack – Mr Jack Brooksbank is the UK brand ambassador for Casamigos Tequila, which was co-founded by actor George Clooney. The 32-year-old Stowe-educated socialite used to be the manager of Mayfair hotspot Mahiki.

Kiss – Royal fans will be hoping to see Eugenie and Jack kiss on the West Steps of the gothic 15th century chapel, just as Harry and Meghan did.

Love at first sight – Jack admitted it was love at first sight when he was introduced to the princess on a ski trip to Verbier.
Myrtle – Eugenie’s bouquet will undoubtedly have a sprig of myrtle in it as is the tradition for royal brides, dating back to the 1850s.
Nicknames – Jack calls his bride-to-be “Eug”. But her mother calls her “Eugie Boogie”, while to her friend Cressida Bonas, she is “pooch face”.

— Sarah Ferguson (@SarahTheDuchess) March 23, 2018
October – The wedding is taking place in October, but the couple had their heart set on September. This did not fit in with royal diaries. The Queen stays up in Balmoral in the Scottish highlands until early October.
Philip – The Duke of Edinburgh has never forgiven his former daughter-in-law Fergie for embarrassing the royal family in the wake of her split from Andrew. It will be the first time they have been in such close proximity for many years.
In happier times, the Queen with, Sarah Ferguson, Prince Andrew and the Duke of Edinburgh on the palace balcony in 1986 (PA)
Queen – The Queen will be there. She could give Jack a title on the morning of the wedding or even offer the couple a new home as a wedding present.
Royal Lodge – The evening reception is said to be taking place at Royal Lodge, the home the Duke of York shares with his ex-wife Sarah in Windsor Great Park.
Sussex – All eyes will be Meghan, as she returns to the chapel for the first time since she wed Harry there just five months ago.
Meghan and Harry will be guests at the wedding (Victoria Jones/PA)
Taxpayer – The taxpayer will foot the bill for police presence at the wedding, with the inclusion of a carriage ride increasing the security costs.
Armed police beneath a statue of Queen Victoria outside Windsor Castle ahead of Harry and Meghan’s wedding (Steve Parsons/PA)
Uniform – Jack is not a military man so there will be no uniforms at this royal wedding. Morning coats, or day dress with hat, are the order of the day.
Victoria – Eugenie was named after one of Queen Victoria’s granddaughters, Victoria Eugenie of Battenberg, who was born in 1887. Her name is pronounced “Yoo-junnee”

Welsh Gold – Royal brides are traditionally given wedding rings made from gold nuggets from Clogau St David’s mine at Bontddu in North Wales and usually presented with the precious metal as a gift from the Queen.
X – Exes – Cressida Bonas and Chelsy Davy, who both dated Harry, are good friends of Eugenie’s and likely to be invited.

York – Eugenie is a princess of York. The Archbishop of York John Sentamu will lead the prayers during the service.

Zara – Zara and Mike Tindall are expected to be among the royal guests, along with the Cambridges, the Prince of Wales, the Duchess of Cornwall, and other members of the Windsor family.

Royal jewels tiara. The most beautiful tiaras.

Royal jewels tiara. The most beautiful tiaras.
Royal jewels tiara. The most beautiful tiaras.
Tiara has always been a compulsory attribute of real princesses and queens. In modern world representatives of the royal family prefer it lighter and more convenient and at the same time more luxurious tiaras. Recentmagazine.com introduce in your attention Royal jewels tiara of Kate Middleton, Queen Leticia, Princess Charlene and other August personalities.         “LOVE SITES "OF THE ROYAL FAMILY OF THE GREAT BRITAIN Tiara Cambridge Lover's Knot ("Nodes of Love") to princess Diana gave Queen Elizabeth II for the wedding day. Jewelry house Garrard prepared "Nodes of Love" in 1914 especially for the Queen Maria, the wife of George V.  Tiara decorated with pearls and 19 diamonds and according to words of Diana weight so much that causes a headache. Now, this jewelry uses the wife of the eldest son Lady Dee, Duchess Catherine, on, especially solemn occasions. DIAMOND TIARA of Keyt Middleton Tiara Cartier of 16 curls, decorated with 739 diamonds and 149 diamonds of baguette cut. Also belonged to Queen Mary, and then passed to Elizabeth II: George VI gave her daughter for 18 years. Princess Margaret and Anna wore it too. This decoration, especially important for Kate Middleton. Because tiara complimented her wedding image. RUBIN  Burmese Tiara OF ELIZABETH II Unlike the other Royal jewels tiara,  The Burmese Tiara Elizabeth ordered for herself, didn't inherit it. Jewelers Garrard made it in 1973 from Rubin which Burmese people gave to the Queen for a wedding. The Burmese believe that Rubins rescue human from the different type of diseases.  By design, Tiara resembles a wreath of roses with rosettes of rubies in the center of each flower and diamond petals.
SPANISH HERALDIC TIARA "FLER DE FOX", OR LA BUENA
The head the Queen of Spanish Leticia on the official activities often decorate outstanding heraldic tiara. The decoration became the wedding present of King Alfonso XIII to his bride Victoria Battenberg.
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push();
It was made of platinum and encrusted with more than 500 diamonds, and at the heart of the "drawing" is the heraldic lily. Due to the strength of the metal, the decoration can also be bent into the crown
DANISH RUBY Tiara Favorite Tiara Crown Princess Mary - part of a Danish ruby parure, which also includes a necklace and earrings. The wife of the King of Sweden and Norway, Charles XIV, Johan Desire Clary, first put it on the coronation of Napoleon in 1804. Mary inherited a complete set, but it was her tiara that she liked most. TIARA KNYAGINI MONACO SHARLEN "DIAMOND FOAM" Franco-German jeweler Lorenzo Baumer made a tiara for Princess Charlene especially for a ball in honor of her wedding with Prince Albert. "Diamond Foam" was supposed to reflect Charlaine's love for water - in the past, her son's son, Grace Kelly, professionally engaged in swimming. Thin tiara as if woven from the "waves" of white gold, decorated at the ends with diamonds. The weight of the largest of them is 8 karats, and in total the jewelry weighs 60 karats. Interestingly, the tiara is divided into individual jewelry: brooches and plumes for the hair.
Tiara CARTIER of the Queen of Jordan Alia
The famous tiara of the Jordanian royal family was made by masters Jewelry Home Cartier for Queen Alia. Its design reminds someone a complex floral wreath, and someone - a combination of snowflakes. After the death of Alia in 1977 tiara passed to her daughter princess Khaya. Now we can often see on Queen Rani. At first Khaya lent her a decoration for the coronation of Abdullah II, then for other ceremonial events, and afterwards sold it to the queen.
RUBIN TIARA OF THE ROYAL FAMILY OF THE NETHERLANDS The people know tiara as "cat ears". They called because of its unusual shape. King Willem III ordered her jeweler Mellerio in Paris for his wife, Queen Emma, in 1889. Tiara was a member of the Oranski-Nassau pair of seven items, and now it is part of the collection of Royal jewels tiara of Queen Maxima. Sapphire Tiara DUTCH ROYAL FAMILY Another favorite decoration of Queen Maxima - a sapphire tiara, which, like a ruby, created a Goldsmith Mellerio. It based on the brooch of Anna Pavlovna, the Queen of the Netherlands and the daughter of the Russian Emperor Paul I. Platinum diadem adorned with 31 Kashmir sapphires and 655 South African diamonds. Tiara SWEDISH ROYAL FAMILY THE CUT STEEL TIARA Tiara The Cut Steel Tiara became part of the collection of ornaments of the royal family of Sweden after the wedding of Josephine Leuchtenberg and Oscar I: Napoleon Bonaparte's heiress brought it with her as a dowry. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push(); For many years the tiara was considered lost, but then it was found by Queen Sylvia. Now the ladies of the Swedish family wore it by turn, especially Crown Princess Victoria likes it.
