Makeup School "Finals" Photoshoot

June 22, 2014. I woke up extra early to prepare, and make sure that my nerves are calm. I become shaky when I get nervous. I knew it was going to be a long day. They (other students) warned us about it. I woke up telling myself that this day will change my life.

First order of business was to prepare myself. Took a long bath (a girl's gotta take her time), dried my hair and put on photo-ready makeup. I had a nice big breakfast (my mom knows how to feed a growing kid), and took a hashtag-selfie before preparing my ammo.

Had to make sure that my makeup kit was complete, accessories on hand, hair styling tools bagged up, props (Yes, I prepared props. Girl scout 'to. Laging handa?) loaded in the car. I was ready to face the day, and face that day, I did.

First look of the day is Bridal. Of course, I just wanted to give a fresh but romantic vibe. I opted for light pink lids with violet corners. I'm a bit disappointed that the photographer didn't capture the model with both eyes looking down.

Next look is a smokey evening look. Days before the finals, I've been looking around for accessories to use for an evening look, and i found gold my wrap-around snake (can be a necklace or bracelet) which I bought in Singapore 3 years ago. I've never used it simply because I don't go clubbing that often, so I decided to let it serve its purpose. I wanted to do a double purpose eye look wherein it will look like snake eyes when the model closes her eyes. But I thought, that's too costume-y. So I just opted to do a two-toned smokey eye using yellow-gold and dark green with a bit of shimmer - the usual colors the we attribute to snakes.

The third and final look was a bit of a surprise. The theme Prince Poppycock was announced a week before the finals day. I had no idea who or what it was. Thank goodness there is such a thing that we call Google, and it helped me find him! Turns out he's a singer who joined America's Got Talent. I found his makeup a bit overwhelming, and costume lashes were hard to find and EXPENSIVE!!! Here's a sample photo of PP.

I decided to make the look as human and feminine as possible. And yep, this is where i used my props. :)
