We can add 2 more supporters to the list of Tory Lanez supporters.
"I have never seen him act out to hurt someone" LOL He literally was in the news before the shooting for attacking numerous people on multiple separate occasions.
One of the physical attacks was that, Prince guy from Love & Hip Hop and then he obviously assaulted August Alsina during all his drama with this court case.
Dreamdoll warned everybody about this guy back in 2019 but nobody listened!

22nd January >> Mass Readings (USA)
Day of Prayer for the Legal Protection of Unborn Children  on Wednesday, Second Week in Ordinary Time.
Wednesday, Second Week in Ordinary Time
(Liturgical Colour: White. Year: C(I))
First Reading Hebrews 7:1-3, 15-17 You are a priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek.
Melchizedek, king of Salem and priest of God Most High, met Abraham as he returned from his defeat of the kings and blessed him. And Abraham apportioned to him a tenth of everything. His name first means righteous king, and he was also “king of Salem,” that is, king of peace. Without father, mother, or ancestry, without beginning of days or end of life, thus made to resemble the Son of God, he remains a priest forever. It is even more obvious if another priest is raised up after the likeness of Melchizedek, who has become so, not by a law expressed in a commandment concerning physical descent but by the power of a life that cannot be destroyed. For it is testified:
You are a priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek.
The Word of the Lord
R/ Thanks be to God.
Responsorial Psalm Psalm 110:1, 2, 3, 4
R/ You are a priest for ever, in the line of Melchizedek.
The LORD said to my Lord: “Sit at my right hand till I make your enemies your footstool.”
R/ You are a priest for ever, in the line of Melchizedek.
The scepter of your power the LORD will stretch forth from Zion: “Rule in the midst of your enemies.”
R/ You are a priest for ever, in the line of Melchizedek.
“Yours is princely power in the day of your birth, in holy splendor; before the daystar, like the dew, I have begotten you.”
R/ You are a priest for ever, in the line of Melchizedek.
The LORD has sworn, and he will not repent: “You are a priest forever, according to the order of Melchizedek.”
R/ You are a priest for ever, in the line of Melchizedek.
Gospel Acclamation cf. Matthew 4:23
Alleluia, alleluia. Jesus preached the Gospel of the Kingdom and cured every disease among the people. Alleluia, alleluia.
Gospel Mark 3:1-6 Is it lawful on the sabbath to save life rather than to destroy it?
Jesus entered the synagogue. There was a man there who had a withered hand. They watched Jesus closely to see if he would cure him on the sabbath so that they might accuse him. He said to the man with the withered hand, “Come up here before us.” Then he said to the Pharisees, “Is it lawful to do good on the sabbath rather than to do evil, to save life rather than to destroy it?” But they remained silent. Looking around at them with anger and grieved at their hardness of heart, Jesus said to the man, “Stretch out your hand.” He stretched it out and his hand was restored. The Pharisees went out and immediately took counsel with the Herodians against him to put him to death.
The Gospel of the Lord
R/ Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ.

🦇 EMPIRE OF THE VAMPIRE 🦇
first kiss (rated T, Baron, written for the Year of the OTP 2023)
During one of their late night secret meetings, Aaron and Baptiste begin something new.
(secret randezvous, some flirting, first kiss)
wedding/proposal (rated T, Baron, written for the Year of the OTP 2023)
Shortly after settling in Aveléne, Aaron and Baptiste are approached by their new priest - the very same priest who doesn't like the fact that they live as a married couple but haven't had the wedding.
Fortunately, as far as he's concerned, there's a very clear way out of this predicament.
(Baron get married and accepted by their new community)
sunshine (rated T, Baron, written for the Year of the OTP 2023)
What starts with Aaron being woken up by the smell of Baptiste's blood, ends with his lover being cradled in an angel's embrace.
Fortunately for them, the halo comes simply from the daystar's light dancing in Aaron's hair.
(just pure fluff for the boys, middle-aged men being soft and in love)
The Only Heaven I'll Be Sent To (rated E, Baron)
Loving each other enough to let him go, Aaron and Baptiste decide to split up, fearful of how their forbidden relationship could end, should they ever be discovered.
As it turns out, parting ways is much harder than expected. Call it God's will or Devil's temptation but they just can't do it.
Cue smut 👌
(religious conflict, past trauma [baron de coste can choke], angst and feels, breakup gone wrong, happy ending, graphic smut)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
🐉 THE DRAGON PRINCE 🐉
Nightly Exertions (rated E, Ruthari)
Shortly after their wedding, Runaan wakes up alone in bed. Naturally, he goes on a search for his missing husband.
And once he finds him, things... escalate.
(graphic smut, the brand new husbands have fun in the workshop)
weak blood, draw from this gift (rated T, written for @miharin)
Viren may have come to terms with his upcoming death but a certain someone most definitely hasn't. Cue the emissary who's only here for the drama.
(set after S5; Kim'dael buys Viren some time at Aaravos' behest)
The tenthborn of King Jaehaerys’ children; the Princess Viserra, had grown into her skin, taking on the great, near otherworldly beauty of her forebears. Her silvery locks had become long and luscious and her skin had cleared, thus allowing her to become ravishing, radiant. So much so that she was considered the most beautiful of the King’s children. Many lords of his court had consequently flocked to her like birds to food, throwing themselves at her feet in an effort to gain both her heart and hand. Those lords were vastly different, for there were many young and old, handsome and hideous, weak and strong, powerless and powerful. As was expected, she had entertained them, preening under the warmth of their flattery, but what was not expected was how her eyes had strayed, slipping unbidden to her older brother, the Spring Prince Baelon. Baelon, who was loud and lusty and the rider of the world’s most magnificent dragon. And the newly christened Prince of Dragonstone, thus meaning that when their father died, passing from this mortal realm onto the next, the crown was to fall to him.
So, the two were married, wed in the eyes of the gods and men. A long, lengthy union had followed, but said union came to an end, an abrupt cessation when the Stranger had paid him a visit, siphoning away his life force and leaving him with no choice but to die, passing from this mortal realm onto the next. Viserra’s heart had consequently shattered, splintering into a million seemingly unmendable pieces. Moons upon moons had passed in which she had wept, wallowing in the pure, palpable amount of pain that had threatened to swallow her, to envelope her whole and leave nothing — not even a small, seemingly insignificant trace — behind until finally, that pain had been remedied by the Lord of Highgarden, Arthur.
Love had consequently bloomed between them, bringing them closer, ever-closer. So much so that they too were married, wed in the eyes of the gods and men. They fell into bed together, collapsing into one another like stars in the name of pleasure and passion, which was why her belly began to swell and nine moons later, she brought forth a soft, summery babe. A babe that had grown and grown, sprouting up like a tall, altitudinous tree and becoming a good and true lady.
The Queen Consort, Naerys, had ultimately wished to bring said lady — her half-sister, Alerie — into her orbit, prompting her to make the long, harrowing journey to court. Alerie, who appeared to be a small, simple thing, with rosy cheeks, a head of long, luscious golden locks, and eyes as blue as the sky, but appearances could be deceiving. Such had been confirmed, cemented in reality by the . . . sordid, suggestive whispers that had spread, suggesting that she had seduced Aegon, bringing him into her orbit like a planet to a daystar, mayhaps even like a sailor to a siren.
“Sweet sister,” Naerys breathed, having found herself troubled by the whispers, because Aegon had already been wed, married off to his sister, Helaena. Yes, he had strayed from her bed time and time again, seeking solace in the arms of others, but somehow . . . somehow, this was different. “Tell me, do the whispers surrounding you and my son hold any truth?”
DDAILY SCRIPTURE READINGS (DSR) 📚 Group, Mon Jan 20th, 2025 ... Monday of The Second Week in Ordinary Time, Year C
Reading 1
-----------
Hebrews 5:1-10
Brothers and sisters:
Every high priest is taken from among men
and made their representative before God,
to offer gifts and sacrifices for sins.
He is able to deal patiently with the ignorant and erring,
for he himself is beset by weakness
and so, for this reason, must make sin offerings for himself
as well as for the people.
No one takes this honor upon himself
but only when called by God,
just as Aaron was.
In the same way,
it was not Christ who glorified himself in becoming high priest,
but rather the one who said to him:
You are my Son:
this day I have begotten you;
just as he says in another place,
You are a priest forever
according to the order of Melchizedek.
In the days when he was in the Flesh,
he offered prayers and supplications with loud cries and tears
to the one who was able to save him from death,
and he was heard because of his reverence.
Son though he was, he learned obedience from what he suffered;
and when he was made perfect,
he became the source of eternal salvation for all who obey him.
Responsorial Psalm
--------------
Psalm 110:1, 2, 3, 4
R. (4b) You are a priest for ever, in the line of Melchizedek.
The LORD said to my Lord: "Sit at my right hand
till I make your enemies your footstool."
R. You are a priest for ever, in the line of Melchizedek.
The scepter of your power the LORD will stretch forth from Zion:
"Rule in the midst of your enemies."
R. You are a priest for ever, in the line of Melchizedek.
"Yours is princely power in the day of your birth, in holy splendor;
before the daystar, like the dew, I have begotten you."
R. You are a priest for ever, in the line of Melchizedek.
The LORD has sworn, and he will not repent:
"You are a priest forever, according to the order of Melchizedek."
R. You are a priest for ever, in the line of Melchizedek.
Alleluia
---------
Hebrews 4:12
R. Alleluia, alleluia.
The word of God is living and effective,
able to discern reflections and thoughts of the heart.
R. Alleluia, alleluia.
Gospel
---------
Mark 2:18-22
The disciples of John and of the Pharisees were accustomed to fast.
People came to Jesus and objected,
"Why do the disciples of John and the disciples of the Pharisees fast,
but your disciples do not fast?"
Jesus answered them,
"Can the wedding guests fast while the bridegroom is with them?
As long as they have the bridegroom with them they cannot fast.
But the days will come when the bridegroom is taken away from them,
and then they will fast on that day.
No one sews a piece of unshrunken cloth on an old cloak.
If he does, its fullness pulls away,
the new from the old, and the tear gets worse.
Likewise, no one pours new wine into old wineskins.
Otherwise, the wine will burst the skins,
and both the wine and the skins are ruined.
Rather, new wine is poured into fresh wineskins."
FOCUS AND LITURGY OF THE WORD
In the 2006 comedy film, Talladega Nights, the actor Will Ferrell plays a successful stock car driver named Ricky Bobby. Offering a meal prayer prior to a big race, Ricky raises eyebrows by praying to “eight-pound, six-ounce” Baby Jesus with his “golden fleece diapers.” Family members struggle with Ricky’s audacity. In his wife’s words, “It’s off-putting to pray to a baby!” His father-in-law reminds Ricky that “He [Jesus] was a man!” The point of the scene is to parody the superficial religiosity and prosperity gospel that can infuse Christianity and sports culture in America. But I couldn’t help but recall Ricky Bobby’s audacity when reading today’s lectionary.
For although no mention is made of Baby Jesus, today’s readings very much challenge stock images of the divine Son of God. In imagery similar to Mark’s passion, the Jesus of Hebrews 5 “offers prayers and supplications with loud cries and tears.” This Jesus is not calmly in control of everything, surveying the world from 10,000 feet. No, this Jesus is deeply immersed in the pain, suffering, and messiness of a world groaning for redemption, even as it crucifies him. Likewise, today’s gospel from Mark 2 challenges us to rethink conventional notions of holiness. For all of their passionate disagreements, John the Baptist and the Pharisees agreed that fasting was a non-negotiable marker of Jewish discipleship. Jesus reminds us that physical disciplines such as fasting should be done not for their own sake, but to bring us closer to the Bridegroom.
In sum, to get Jesus, we need a conversion of heart in how we see him. We need new wineskins. Whether or not we envision Jesus in golden-fleece diapers, let us never forget that the mystery of the Word Made Flesh challenges easy categorizations. For this God-man is both baby and divinely begotten Son, both obedient supplicant and eternal priest, both suffering Servant and source of eternal salvation.
SAINT OF THE DAY
Saint Sebastian
(c. 256 –  January 20, 287)
Saint Sebastian’s Story
Almost nothing is historically certain about Sebastian except that he was a Roman martyr, was venerated in Milan even in the time of Saint Ambrose and was buried on the Appian Way, probably near the present Basilica of St. Sebastian. Devotion to him spread rapidly, and he is mentioned in several martyrologies as early as 350.
The legend of Saint Sebastian is important in art, and there is a vast iconography. Scholars now agree that a pious fable has Sebastian entering the Roman army because only there could he assist the martyrs without arousing suspicion. Finally he was found out, brought before Emperor Diocletian and delivered to Mauritanian archers to be shot to death. His body was pierced with arrows, and he was left for dead. But he was found still alive by those who came to bury him. He recovered, but refused to flee.
One day he took up a position near where the emperor was to pass. He accosted the emperor, denouncing him for his cruelty to Christians. This time the sentence of death was carried out. Sebastian was beaten to death with clubs. He was buried on the Appian Way, close to the catacombs that bear his name.
Reflection
----------
The fact that many of the early saints made such a tremendous impression on the Church—awakening widespread devotion and great praise from the greatest writers of the Church—is proof of the heroism of their lives. As has been said, legends may not be literally true. Yet they may express the very substance of the faith and courage evident in the lives of these heroes and heroines of Christ.
Saint Sebastian is the Patron Saint of:
Kate Middleton showcased her signature elegant and sophisticated style at this year’s British Royal Family Christmas service. Wearing a green Alexander McQueen coat and black Gianvito Rossi boots, she led the glamour as she joined the royal family on the traditional walk to St. Mary Magdalene Church on the Sandringham Estate. Along with Princess Kate, Queen Camilla, Prince William, Prince Louis, Prince George, and Princess Charlotte also wore navy and green outfits. King Charles was the only member of the royal family to wear a different color for the event, choosing a brown coat with a light blue shirt and gray slacks. Catherine Princess of Wales, Queen Camilla, and William Prince of Wales coordinate in green and blue while King Charles III wears a brown coat with a light blue shirt and gray pants (Credit: John Rainford / Cover Images) Kate Middleton’s Timeless Elegance: Green Alexander McQueen Coat As I anticipated, the Princess of Wales radiated subtle elegance in her festive forest green tailored coat, which has a double-breasted style, notched lapels, a slit chest pocket, and front flap pockets. I love how well it fits Kate’s slender figure, which was to be expected given that it was a custom design made for her by one of her favorite fashion houses, Alexander McQueen. ICYDK, McQueen designed Kate’s Victorian-inspired lace wedding gown. I’m not sure what she wore underneath the coat, but she was most likely clad in a black shift dress, as she always does. Some might say Kate Middleton’s style is highly predictable and repetitive due to her penchant for classic pieces and muted hues. While true, I appreciate her wardrobe selections for their timeless and elegant appeal, befitting a royal. Kate Middleton looks elegant in her custom green Alexander McQueen double-breasted coat with notched lapels and front pockets (Credit: PA Images / INSTARimages) Why Kate Middleton’s Gianvito Rossi Suede Boots Are Perfect for Winter I assumed Kate would wear pumps as usual, but she wore boots instead, sticking to the wintry theme. She wore bespoke knee-high suede boots specially designed for her by one of her go-to footwear labels, Gianvito Rossi. They have pointed toes, slouchy knee-high shafts, and high block heels, adding a few inches to Kate’s impressive 5’8 3/4” height. Kate Middleton completes a wintry royal ensemble with bespoke Gianvito Rossi knee-high boots (Credit: Cover Images) Royal Accessory Spotlight: Kate Middleton’s Christmas Service Finishing Touches The Princess of Wales also often wears various classic and modest accessories. As royals do, she typically opts for pearls for her jewelry, a small clutch for her necessities, pumps for her shoes, and a hat, adding a touch of glamour and sophistication to her outfits. For the Christmas service, Kate donned the $7,676 Daystar Blue Topaz earrings by Robinson Pelham. They feature 10.11ct. blue topaz gems surrounded by 1.20ct. diamonds set in 14k gold. Although it was difficult to see through her long-sleeved coat, she wore a Halcyon Days Maya bangle in an 18k yellow gold-plated salamander torque with aquamarine end caps. Kate Middleton looks elegant with her Gina Foster fascinator, tartan scarf, and Robinson Pelham Daystar Blue Topaz earrings (Credit: Cover Images) In my opinion, a regal ensemble would be incomplete without a fascinator. Kate, who always wears one, opted for the “Meribel” beret hat by Gina Foster, one of the royals’ milliners. It has a structured look with a bow on one side. Kate wore the same hat during the 2013 Christmas service and the 2014 and 2018 St. Patrick’s Day celebrations. Kate’s elegant winter ensemble was finished with a blue-and-green tartan scarf and $219 black merino wool gloves by Cornelia James. Regrettably, we could not fully appreciate the “Alice” gloves’ exquisite details, such as the velvet fourchettes and side bows, because the coat’s sleeves concealed them. But they certainly added a sense of sophistication to the look. They complement Kate’s black Grace Han “Love Letter” top handle bag, which honors love letters from the past, present, and future with its distinctive envelope flap closure and timeless, sophisticated silhouette. Kate Middleton carries her church necessities in a black Grace Han Love Letter top-handle bag (Credit: Cover Images) A Step Into Royal Style: Kate Middleton’s Most Iconic Boot Moments Kate Middleton’s boot choices seamlessly blend practicality with timeless elegance, making her a style icon for many. Here are some of her most memorable boot moments: Aquatalia by Marvin K. ‘Rhumba’ Boots: Kate has been spotted multiple times wearing these sleek, weatherproof knee-high boots, known for their narrow fit and water-resistant suede. She paired them with a classic trench and black tights during the official opening of St. George’s Park in 2012. Aquatalia by Marvin K. ‘Royalty’ Ankle Boots: The Duchess chose these espresso suede ankle boots, featuring buckles and stretchy panels, for a visit to the Only Connect charity event in London in 2013. She paired them with a brown patterned Orla Kiely dress, showcasing her penchant for repeating her favorite outfits. Stuart Weitzman for Russell and Bromley ‘HalfnHalf’ Boots: During a visit to the Hornsey Road Children’s Centre in 2017, Kate wore these black knee-high boots with a cream Goat ‘Redgrave’ coat and black tights, exemplifying her sophisticated yet approachable style. Penelope Chilvers Long Tassel Boots: Known for her love of these boots, Kate has been seen wearing them on various occasions, including outdoor events. The brown leather knee-high boots feature long tassels and have become a staple in her wardrobe. L.K. Bennett Boots: A loyal fan of the brand, Kate wore L.K. Bennett boots with a green Eponine dress during a visit to the Lavender Primary School in 2019, supporting Children’s Mental Health Week. Her association with L.K. Bennett has significantly boosted the brand’s popularity. Kate’s boot selections are a testament to her ability to combine functionality with fashion, inspiring many to emulate her classic and elegant footwear choices. Source link
King Charles was the only member of the royal family to wear a different color for the event, choosing a brown coat with a light blue shirt and gray slacks. I love how well it fits Kate’s slender figure, which was to be expected given that it was a custom design made for her by one of her favorite fashion houses, Alexander McQueen. ICYDK, McQueen designed Kate’s Victorian-inspired lace wedding gown. I’m not sure what she wore underneath the coat, but she was most likely clad in a black shift dress, as she always does. Some might say Kate Middleton’s style is highly predictable and repetitive due to her penchant for classic pieces and muted hues. While true, I appreciate her wardrobe selections for their timeless and elegant appeal, befitting a royal. She wore bespoke knee-high suede boots specially designed for her by one of her go-to footwear labels, Gianvito Rossi. They have pointed toes, slouchy knee-high shafts, and high block heels, adding a few inches to Kate’s impressive 5’8 3/4” height. As royals do, she typically opts for pearls for her jewelry, a small clutch for her necessities, pumps for her shoes, and a hat, adding a touch of glamour and sophistication to her outfits. For the Christmas service, Kate donned the $7,676 Daystar Blue Topaz earrings by Robinson Pelham. They feature 10.11ct. blue topaz gems surrounded by 1.20ct. diamonds set in 14k gold. Although it was difficult to see through her long-sleeved coat, she wore a Halcyon Days Maya bangle in an 18k yellow gold-plated salamander torque with aquamarine end caps. Kate Middleton looks elegant with her Gina Foster fascinator, tartan scarf, and Robinson Pelham Daystar Blue Topaz earrings (Credit: Cover Images) In my opinion, a regal ensemble would be incomplete without a fascinator. Kate, who always wears one, opted for the “Meribel” beret hat by Gina Foster, one of the royals’ milliners. It has a structured look with a bow on one side. Kate wore the same hat during the 2013 Christmas service and the 2014 and 2018 St. Patrick’s Day celebrations. Kate’s elegant winter ensemble was finished with a blue-and-green tartan scarf and $219 black merino wool gloves by Cornelia James. Regrettably, we could not fully appreciate the “Alice” gloves’ exquisite details, such as the velvet fourchettes and side bows, because the coat’s sleeves concealed them. But they certainly added a sense of sophistication to the look. They complement Kate’s black Grace Han “Love Letter” top handle bag, which honors love letters from the past, present, and future with its distinctive envelope flap closure and timeless, sophisticated silhouette. Here are some of her most memorable boot moments: Aquatalia by Marvin K. ‘Rhumba’ Boots: Kate has been spotted multiple times wearing these sleek, weatherproof knee-high boots, known for their narrow fit and water-resistant suede. She paired them with a classic trench and black tights during the official opening of St. George’s Park in 2012. Aquatalia by Marvin K. ‘Royalty’ Ankle Boots: The Duchess chose these espresso suede ankle boots, featuring buckles and stretchy panels, for a visit to the Only Connect charity event in London in 2013. She paired them with a brown patterned Orla Kiely dress, showcasing her penchant for repeating her favorite outfits. Stuart Weitzman for Russell and Bromley ‘HalfnHalf’ Boots: During a visit to the Hornsey Road Children’s Centre in 2017, Kate wore these black knee-high boots with a cream Goat ‘Redgrave’ coat and black tights, exemplifying her sophisticated yet approachable style. Penelope Chilvers Long Tassel Boots: Known for her love of these boots, Kate has been seen wearing them on various occasions, including outdoor events. The brown leather knee-high boots feature long tassels and have become a staple in her wardrobe. L.K. Bennett Boots: A loyal fan of the brand, Kate wore L.K. Bennett boots with a green Eponine dress during a visit to the Lavender Primary School in 2019, supporting Children’s Mental Health Week. Her association with L.K. Bennett has significantly boosted the brand’s popularity. Kate’s boot selections are a testament to her ability to combine functionality with fashion, inspiring many to emulate her classic and elegant footwear choices. Source link
29th January >> Mass Readings (USA)
Wednesday, Third Week in Ordinary Time
(Liturgical Colour: Green. Year: C(I))
First Reading Hebrews 10:11-18 He has made perfect forever those who are being consecrated.
Every priest stands daily at his ministry, offering frequently those same sacrifices that can never take away sins. But this one offered one sacrifice for sins, and took his seat forever at the right hand of God; now he waits until his enemies are made his footstool. For by one offering he has made perfect forever those who are being consecrated. The Holy Spirit also testifies to us, for after saying:
This is the covenant I will establish with them after those days, says the Lord: “I will put my laws in their hearts, and I will write them upon their minds,”
he also says:
Their sins and their evildoing I will remember no more.
Where there is forgiveness of these, there is no longer offering for sin.
The Word of the Lord
R/ Thanks be to God.
Responsorial Psalm Psalm 110:1, 2, 3, 4
R/ You are a priest for ever, in the line of Melchizedek.
The LORD said to my Lord: “Sit at my right hand till I make your enemies your footstool.”
R/ You are a priest for ever, in the line of Melchizedek.
The scepter of your power the LORD will stretch forth from Zion: “Rule in the midst of your enemies.”
R/ You are a priest for ever, in the line of Melchizedek.
“Yours is princely power in the day of your birth, in holy splendor; before the daystar, like the dew, I have begotten you.”
R/ You are a priest for ever, in the line of Melchizedek.
The LORD has sworn, and he will not repent: “You are a priest forever, according to the order of Melchizedek.”
R/ You are a priest for ever, in the line of Melchizedek.
Gospel Acclamation 1 Samuel 3:9, John 6:68
Alleluia, alleluia. The seed is the word of God, Christ is the sower; all who come to him will live for ever. Alleluia, alleluia.
Gospel Mark 4:1-20 A sower went out to sow.
On another occasion, Jesus began to teach by the sea. A very large crowd gathered around him so that he got into a boat on the sea and sat down. And the whole crowd was beside the sea on land. And he taught them at length in parables, and in the course of his instruction he said to them, “Hear this! A sower went out to sow. And as he sowed, some seed fell on the path, and the birds came and ate it up. Other seed fell on rocky ground where it had little soil. It sprang up at once because the soil was not deep. And when the sun rose, it was scorched and it withered for lack of roots. Some seed fell among thorns, and the thorns grew up and choked it and it produced no grain. And some seed fell on rich soil and produced fruit. It came up and grew and yielded thirty, sixty, and a hundredfold.” He added, “Whoever has ears to hear ought to hear.” And when he was alone, those present along with the Twelve questioned him about the parables. He answered them, “The mystery of the Kingdom of God has been granted to you. But to those outside everything comes in parables, so that
they may look and see but not perceive, and hear and listen but not understand, in order that they may not be converted and be forgiven.”
Jesus said to them, “Do you not understand this parable? Then how will you understand any of the parables? The sower sows the word. These are the ones on the path where the word is sown. As soon as they hear, Satan comes at once and takes away the word sown in them. And these are the ones sown on rocky ground who, when they hear the word, receive it at once with joy. But they have no roots; they last only for a time. Then when tribulation or persecution comes because of the word, they quickly fall away. Those sown among thorns are another sort. They are the people who hear the word, but worldly anxiety, the lure of riches, and the craving for other things intrude and choke the word, and it bears no fruit. But those sown on rich soil are the ones who hear the word and accept it and bear fruit thirty and sixty and a hundredfold.”
The Gospel of the Lord
R/ Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ.
Reading 1
HEB 5:1-10
Brothers and sisters: Every high priest is taken from among men and made their representative before God, to offer gifts and sacrifices for sins. He is able to deal patiently with the ignorant and erring, for he himself is beset by weakness and so, for this reason, must make sin offerings for himself as well as for the people. No one takes this honor upon himself but only when called by God, just as Aaron was. In the same way, it was not Christ who glorified himself in becoming high priest, but rather the one who said to him: You are my Son: this day I have begotten you; just as he says in another place, You are a priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek. In the days when he was in the Flesh, he offered prayers and supplications with loud cries and tears to the one who was able to save him from death, and he was heard because of his reverence. Son though he was, he learned obedience from what he suffered; and when he was made perfect, he became the source of eternal salvation for all who obey him.
Responsorial Psalm
PS 110:1, 2, 3, 4
R./ You are a priest for ever, in the line of Melchizedek.
The LORD said to my Lord: "Sit at my right hand till I make your enemies your footstool." R./ You are a priest for ever, in the line of Melchizedek.
The scepter of your power the LORD will stretch forth from Zion: "Rule in the midst of your enemies." R./ You are a priest for ever, in the line of Melchizedek.
"Yours is princely power in the day of your birth, in holy splendor; before the daystar, like the dew, I have begotten you." R./ You are a priest for ever, in the line of Melchizedek.
The LORD has sworn, and he will not repent: "You are a priest forever, according to the order of Melchizedek." R./ You are a priest for ever, in the line of Melchizedek.
Gospel
MK 2:18-22
The disciples of John and of the Pharisees were accustomed to fast. People came to Jesus and objected, "Why do the disciples of John and the disciples of the Pharisees fast,  but your disciples do not fast?" Jesus answered them, "Can the wedding guests fast while the bridegroom is with them? As long as they have the bridegroom with them they cannot fast. But the days will come when the bridegroom is taken away from them, and then they will fast on that day. No one sews a piece of unshrunken cloth on an old cloak. If he does, its fullness pulls away, the new from the old, and the tear gets worse. Likewise, no one pours new wine into old wineskins. Otherwise, the wine will burst the skins, and both the wine and the skins are ruined. Rather, new wine is poured into fresh wineskins."
Who was he to question their commitment? Who were he to tell her or Orion they needed to sacrifice more?
Shahar eyes blazed, she was done playing nice. Orion had made his stance clear and let them disparage her - not him.
She turned from Ruhn. She focused on Lidia in the doorway those gold eyes meeting hers. Already knowing this secret.
"Can I speak for you Lidia?"
Lidia inclined her head. She didn't look at Ruhn.
"You may."
Shahar kept her own disgust in check. Orion knew what she thought of a mate who chose grudges over their own mate. Lidia had proved herself again and again, who was Ruhn to pass any judgment? If Bryce hadn't dragged him into all of this would he even be involved or still partying and fucking anything that moved?
"I know this won't land well. But you'll never understand. Lidia did everything she could to make a better world for her children. To hopefully have a day when her sons would inherit a just and beautiful world."
Shahar shivered, she couldn't look at Orion. But she felt his presence in the bond. They had to work through this eventually.
She fought for composure, the bricks shattering when Danika spoke.
"Look I don't begrudge her for what she did. I - I admire her for her bravery actually. But you started this Shahar, the least you can do is see it through -"
"What will be the point when we loose?
Danika's eyes blazed.
"Where is your anger? Where is your rage? You and Orion are together and I - fine. But where is the rage for what they did to your mate?!"
Shahar looked to Orion, he leaned against the wall. She turned back to Sanika, meeting her stare.
"They broke it, extinguished it when they took our week old baby and threw it off the roof of that horrible place it front of me."
She would not break here. She would not let them see the shattered soul underneath. She was the Daystar, the general.
But Fates, was that mask beginning to crack at the edges.
//For Ruhn and Orion//
Hunt's arms tensed, his shoulders and back almost ramrod straight, as he avoided looking directly at Shahar. Or Lidia, really, but it was more Shahar's gaze that he was avoiding than the other female's. He had a feeling, though, that Ruhn was avoiding Lidia just as much as he was Shahar.
A quick glance towards the Fae prince confirmed Hunt's suspicions.
Ruhn's own arms were crossed as he leaned against the wall opposite Hunt. He wasn't quite looking at any of them directly, even as his fingers would form a fist off and on, like he was working through not letting some explosion of rage show.
❝ No one says any of this will be easy, ❞ muttered Ruhn, even as his voice might have been softer, it was hard as steel. Like that anger he held back was barely done so. ❝ But what other choice is there? We stay and do nothing, we die. We fight, we might die. Might as well take the option with a chance at life, yeah? ❞
Even if every step of this might as well be suicide.
