Ranking Legends: Arceus Characters based on how hot they are: Part 1

1: Akari

By virtue of being one of the protagonists, she’s already gotten plenty of R34ing, even before the games even came out. However, despite canonically being one of the oldest protagonists at 15 years old (rivaled only by the B/W protags), she actually looks very childish to me. I think it’s the oversized sandals and the largeness of her head. 5/10

2. Rei

As with Akari, Rei just hits me as too much of a kid—which is, again, odd, considering he is one of the oldest Pokemon protagonists. He’s just got way too innocent of eyes, I think, and his head is a bit too round. By virtue of being a protagonist, he’s going to get some R34, but that’s just from being the stand-in for the player. 5/10

3. Laventon

Look at this total dork. This absolute dumbass. I’ve seen a theory floating around that, since he comes from Galar and his mannerisms are…well, the way that they are, he’s likely the ancestor of Leon and Hop. If so, god do I wanna know who brought the hot traits into the family because they did some work! As it is, Laventon is just a decent man. 4/10

4. Cyllene

Ignoring for a moment that she just plain doesn’t have any eyebrows (did a Wurmple steal them while she was sleeping? Is that why she’s so scared of them?) she’s very reserved and stoic--makes me think of an alternate version that’s into office roleplay mayhaps. Also, she’s actually pretty cute, all brooding aside. 7/10

5. Kamado

This man is a dilf if I ever saw one—Rowan was always my favorite of the Professors, and the one I felt had the most quiet badass appearance. It’s nice to see his ancestor is every bit the quiet badass Rowan is, but also a the type I could see equal parts giving you a warm bear hug for a job well done—as well as suplexing a bear for daring to hurt his loved ones. 8/10

6. Volo

Listen—any ancestor of Cynthia is gonna have an unfair advantage over the rest of the crop! This man has all of Cynthia’s effortless flair and elegance, mixed with a witty charm and charisma that is only slightly below that of everyone’s favorite Pokemon waifu. 9/10

7. Mai

It’s odd seeing Marley’s face and hairstyle without any of Marley’s fabulous lolita fashion sense--ignoring that, though, I love her tights, and she’s definitely a cutie. Not much to say here--she’s just about middle of the road in terms of cuteness. 6/10

8. Zisu

The last thing I expected from this game was a fucking amazon beauty. Zisu gets a bit of a bonus because the minute she popped up in my game, I instinctively wanted to call her ‘mommy’. I’m not sure if it’s her height, the way she looks at the player, but I’m pretty sure she could suffocate Rei with her thunder thighs around his head and he would thank her. 8/10

9. Adaman

This man has no right being this handsome. His style is just the most over the top and at the same time absolutely flawless. He looks every bit the Royal and regal leader of an ancient and respected clan should be. 9/10

10. Irida

And then there’s Irida. I’m sure she’s already getting R34ed too, she’s a cutie…but I just can’t take her seriously! Her jewelry looks like it’s made of play dough! Her shoes are like clown shoes met crocs! And her attitude—I know she gets better, but gods I do not enjoy having her around at all. 3/10

!Chatting¡ —I’ve been about the people who think Arceus copied Dawn/Lucas to create Akari/Rei... Which fair enough considering Deer God gives us the crazy accurate Arc Phone. The aim accuracy they have, flute playing skills, how we can stay up through days to catch Pokemon, and their knowledge about how to evolve every Pokemon are points in the theory. We just look up what we need to do yet in-game that could mean Arceus tells them what certain evolution methods are.

What I’m curious about is the confusion involving Arceus’ presence all over them. Are they Chosen, a vessel, or something else? How would the Creation Trio react to technically having a new sibling? All three were created directly from Arceus’ intent so I figure take it a step further. Deer/Horse God might just stuff knowledge into its creation’s head probably leaning in general facts of the modern era. Our way of translating Pokemon strength to numbered levels would be easy to understand.

Arceus just making a waiting-to-crash existential crisis sounds on par with its bad decisions. I mean, it barely cares about preserving history considering we receive a smartphone to help us explore. Would the MC not know whether they’re from the Pokeverse or our Universe? How would such a young mind handle the potentially tangled information? Did any of the regional crises they know about happen already? They would be pretty powerful knowledge-wise yet fragile emotionally from not knowing who they were. I have a few decent ideas I could work with them not having a divine healing factor (in order to blend in).

A final point could be Arceus not wanting to make a creation catchable. Ancient Pokeballs seem to be able to lock and we already saw one explode from godly power when the origin forms come into play.

Oooh that’s a very interesting idea!! Having the protagonist be made from Arceus, kind of like the creation trio, made as a copy of champions that it knows are capable of saving the world. But it doesn’t think to give the new creation a past, more focused on its purpose rather than anything else. And thus the creation that grows and learns from the humans around it, the humans it resembles, doesn’t know what it is or what it’s meant to be.

What comes next after they complete their task? Nothingness? Will they share the same fate as Giratina?

What will the others thinks? The ones that are distrusting of them even as a human, now to discover that they’re so much more than human?

So much fun to have with a character like that!!
