combining some of my special interests and assigning my f/o's (and s/i's, by extension) webkinz plushes!!

vox - midnight monster they're both blue, black, stripey nd "spooky"!! bonus points that i've ALWAYS wanted a midnight monster in my collection lol

vaughn - mazin' hamster "presto" blue hamster. how more on the nose does it get

lollipop - pom pom kitty it was admittedly a strong tie between this and the aptly named lollipop puppy, but i felt the pom pom kitty captured lolly's personality and look more!

jupiter - 10 year magic pup not only are they super close shades of color, jupiter is a very magic-aligned AND number themed character!

jeff fischer - golden retriever

jeff's not a very complicated guy, and a golden retriever is genuinely the animal he reminds me most of. the shaggy look of the string fur on the original golden reminds me a lot of jeff's disheveled hair too!

hayley smith - rockerz cow the psychedelic rock motif, the pink flower, the peace and love motif on their flank... it's basically her fursona

twister the space cat - ginger cat surprisingly it was hard to find a good match for twister, but i settled on the ginger cat! the vibe is there, an orange-yellow tabby cat with a bit more fluff; however it's actually the rarity of this plush that sold me, as it can be compared to twister's alien (aka "rare") species!

What Webkinz did you have as a kid?

Oh, quite a lot of them in retrospect! Honestly I feel like I was getting most of them more for the access they got rather than the plushies, which I regret a little after looking at how many great designs this game has.

I first signed up for the site with the free domestic cat! (I think they just named it Cat in-game). It's a virtual-only pet, so I don't have any toys of her, even though I'd really like to. She was called Lilly and unfortunately I lost her after my first account got axed:

I can still vaguely remember her outfit since it was a lot of free stuff, and I could probably rebuild it if anything in Webkinz was half as well-documented as it is for Club Penguin.

The next two I got as a pair were the Sapphire and Rainbow Pegasi, when I got sick of the free membership. I still have their plushies with me in uni now and they're arguably better looking than the virtual sprites.

I wanted the golden pegasus toy too, but unfortunately that was like 100 quid when I wanted it as a kid and is STILL that much now. I might get it at somepoint.

I think I then got the Zums Zed and Zahara, which I've drawn before. I still have them in my room, with Zip hanging off my lamp. I do wish I'd gotten them both as clip toys because I didn't read the item description properly as a kid.

I got the Presto and Petunia hamsters to play 'Mazin hamsters when I finally moved to a computer capable of handling it, and then decided it was too much hassle to play normally. And then Ganz took the entire-ass unity game down and the code is lost to time.

I got the Pink and White and Black and White Cat for access to Adventure Valley, which apparently didn't have the right codes so I never got that. Those were the only two I think that weren't just named after their species: the pink one was called Candy and the black one was Ally.

Lastly, I had the virtual Decade dragon on my old account for free for the 10th anniversary. He was named Decadent.
