Orange Jam with Warm Spices Ingredients: 3 lbs oranges, peeled (about 5 cups puree) 1 cup sugar 1-2 each cinnamon sticks, star anise, and cloves (optional) Directions: Begin by peeling the oranges, ensuring you remove as much of the white pith as possible to prevent bitterness. Puree the peeled oranges using an immersion blender or regular blender until smooth. In a medium saucepan, combine the orange puree, sugar, and optional spices. Simmer the mixture over moderate heat, stirring occasionally, for 20-30 minutes until the jam thickens. To test the consistency, drop a small amount of jam onto a plate that has been chilled in the freezer. If it holds its shape, the jam is ready. Pour the hot orange jam into prepared, sterilized canning jars. You can either store the jars in the refrigerator or process them in a water bath canner for 10 minutes if you plan to store them long-term. Prep Time: 10 minutes | Cooking Time: 30 minutes | Total Time: 40 minutes Kcal: 35 kcal per tablespoon | Servings: Makes about 4 cups of jam This Orange Jam with Warm Spices brings the vibrant flavors of fresh oranges together with cozy notes of cinnamon, star anise, and cloves. The sweet and slightly tart citrus is balanced beautifully with the earthy warmth of the spices, making this jam a perfect spread for toast, scones, or even a topping for desserts. What makes this recipe even more special is its versatility. You can store it in your fridge for daily enjoyment or preserve it in jars for long-term storage. Whether for your own kitchen or as a thoughtful homemade gift, this spiced orange jam adds a delightful, aromatic touch to any meal.

A busy day in the kitchen and almost through the plethora of citrus which I have been processing into Candied Peek. So beautiful. A few days to dry and then rolled in sugar. #preservingfruit #daylesfordlonghouse #makingplenty #candiedpeel https://www.instagram.com/p/CEyI0TDj5Cc/?igshid=1fr95dpmjxbzd

Yesterday I picked a bag of green vigs..as in unripe figs. Without looking for it online a green-fig -jam recipe came flying into my orbit.. i never knew such a thing as making jam with extremely unripe fruit even existed. When i come across a situation like thiis, natures gifts that no one around me knows what to do with (incl. Me) and a recipe to help me to put the mysterious thing to good value.. And on top of that when the recipe comes flying into my orbit without me intetionally going on the look for it..i just HAVE to try it. #greenvigs #unripevigs #greenvigjam #happyhomesteading #homestead #homesteading #preservingfruit
