Facing Fear... Prepared to Die..

One of my friends told me that she took her husband to go pick out her coffin and she walked through her funeral plans this today... Seems morbid doesn't it? Some might even think "How cruel of her to put that man through that!" But for her it was quite the opposite. They have gone through so much during her fight with ovarian cancer. She is just as much a Believer and Christian as me and many others. But she has stopped her chemo and her recent scans and MRI did not come back with a good report. YES it can change and we all pray it does. But she looked at her husband who is tirelessly by her side and decided the worse thing she could was leave the heartbreaking decisions of the end of her life to him after all they had been through. She felt it was best as his wife to even handle that for him, so all he would need to do would be to simply..say goodbye and lay her to rest. He would have to think of nothing else. He would know every desire and wish and where to go and what to do. So they did this together hand in hand. He was reluctant at first, even upset but by the end of the day they were laughing. I absolutely understand her intentions and think it was a kind act on her part. I have my own issues with funeral homes so I don't see myself just chillin in one...lol... But I have written out my funeral.. It's where it needs to be for now. Facing this makes you face EVERYTHING! Someone asked me..what have you learned since you were diagnosed with cancer... I believe one of the greatest things I have learned is to Face Fear. Death is not scary to me nor is talking about it. I know its uncomfortable to many. But when its something you have to face...you look that sucker dead in the eye! Now what? LOL!
