Helloo, it is I, the anonymous person, who you may call/recognise by the nickname Onion! I wondered if you could write something for a wandering merchant s/o with Senku? They had woken up a while before him and been wandering around, collecting stuff etc. Of course, if you don't want to write this it's perfectly fine! I love your work, it's amazing, 6/5
You carefully climbed back down the steep mountain side, until you felt safe enough to jump to the ground from a height that wouldnât hurt your limbs. In your side pouch you had collected a bunch of shiny black and grey rocks, some tiny crystals were noticeable in there too. You emptied your findings into your make-shift carriage. To be honest, it was really small, could only hold so much. But in the time you have been awake, you made yourself a tiny home off a large tree, gathered your food and found others here and there. It was super awkward because some acted pretty normal, while others dressed quite differently. You noticed first how odd their shoes were, compared to yours at least.
You started to get a reputation between the few people you stumbled upon to having some sort of supplies they might be interested in, in return them trading you with another useful object. A guy named Tsukasa sent his men out to your shack as a regular customer. He offered you safety in his group, wonderfully cooked food and a progressive new world, but you preferred to be a free bird while you could. Maybe one day though, and he wasnât forgetting that anytime soon.
As you dragged your cart down a dirt pathway, you heard a call from behind, noticing a blonde boy with a spear and a spiky haired boy walking up to you. You recognized the blonde as Ginro, he found you and came to you on and off for some specialty fish. The taller man was new, but no customer un-welcomed. You stopped your cart and brushed off the dirt from your clothes to be presentable, greeting them with a large, friendly smile and wave.
âHey Ginro, been a while!ââ you chirped.
âSee Senku, this is the girl I was talking about! (Y/n) is really good with finding stuff, she might have more of those magnet things!â You let the fact that he didnât greet you slide, he was still a kid but it wasnât your place to teach him basic mannerism. Besides, he was selling your business for you.
âYouâre looking for magnets?â
Senku looked up from your cart and met your eyes. âYou know what magnets are?â he asked, a little shock in his voice. In a moment, you both made the connection that you guys were from the same time period, like how you connected that with Tsukasa. You proudly nodded, your smile soft.
âYeah, before the world became to stone. I was majoring in geology but never wouldâve figured this is how Iâd use my knowledge,â you laughed, opening your cart and pulling out some of the small black sparkly rocks. Senkuâs face lit up and he stepped closer to observe them.
âHehe, theyâre the real deal. You do know your stuff (Y/n),â he grinned and your cheeks got a hint of pink. Heâs known you for all of five minutes and felt comfortable to call you by your first name, not to mention the small compliment. âFrom what Ginroâs said, you do trades, since money isnât much of an object here yet.â You nodded to confirm, glancing at Ginro to see he looked incredibly confused at your conversation with Senku. He was one of those guys in the weird shoes, but a good guy. âHow much of what can I trade you for all you have?â
You put a hand to your chin in thought. What you could really use right now was a better weapon, all your rock knifes were pretty dull and your hands had scars from bleeding in the process of making them. Ginroâs staff looked pretty sturdy and itâd be easier to fish with, but you werenât about to take his personal weapon. âWhomever can make a copy of Ginroâs staff, a sturdy one, thatâll be enough. Iâll give you two magnets as a deposit and the rest will come when the staff is handed over.â
âSounds fair to me, give us a day. Iâll bring it to you tomorrow,â Senku agreed, taking the magnets from you, a smile gracing his lips. The boys left on their way and you smiled shly to yourself. SenkuâŚhe sure was a handsome guy. But nowâs not the time to get love on the brain (y/n). Time to head home.
---TIME SKIP---
You didnât really keep track of how many days or weeks or months have gone by, it was kind of nice just living life like that, you lived more in-the-moment. But the best moments have been when Senku comes by for a trade. He regularly stopped at your shack, seeing what youâve collected, talking with you for a while, and sometimes sharing a meal you cooked too. You both reminisced on when the world was pre-stone age, remembering all the technological advances versus how simplistic it was now. Senku even shared how the Kingdom of Science was about to create cell phones, which left you speechless. It was getting late, and another day of Senkuâs company was coming to an end. It left you feeling bittersweet.
âAre you coming with me yet?â he grinned, which looked a little bit evil to be honest.
âWhat do you mean?...â You hesitantly asked.
âTo the Kingdom of Science. I canât imagine a modern day girl like you would want to continue living like this forever, even if you are a geologist.â You stared into the fire, a bit of somberness in your eyes, that didnât go unnoticed by Senku.
âYouâre not wrongâŚbut..ugh I donât know,â You sighed. You knew you had feelings for Senku. It would make your world so much brighter to help him and wake up to see him every day instead of once a week. But he was at war with Tsukasaâs army and had some insane ideas he was putting on an old village. Was it really possible?
âI thought you might be a little apprehensive, so I brought insurance,â he chuckled and pulled out what looked like a flashlight from his side pouch. With one flick, he turned it on and directed it towards the darkening woods, proving how powerful it was. You were surprised he already created a flashlight in such a short period of time. âThis only took us a day to complete, thankfully you had all the materials we needed. Weâve created a generator already, amped up our cooking skills like ramen and cotton candy and have a professional craftsman whoâs mastered the art of glass making. We can have the world back to normal sooner with your help (y/n).â
Your surprised face slowly turned to a smile, followed by laughter which had the scientist questioning you. You waved a hand down, meaning it was okay. âIâm not laughing at that Senku-kun, itâs just surprising after all of this we can have our normal lives one day soon. Plus, I also get a hint of selfishness that somebody misses his laboratory too.~â You teased, poking the tip of his nose. His cheeks tinted pink and he looked away, rubbing lightly where you poked him. He was cute.
âOf course I do,â he softly hummed. âBut right now my top priority is saving humanity. And your help would be very useful (y/n).â
âDonât worry, Iâll follow you Senku-kun!â You smiled, he returned the grin with his own, rubbing your head and fluffing up your hair while you protested.
BONUS HEADCANONS:
While you were still a wandering merchant, Senku would make it a goal to visit you once a week. He was intrigued by you overall, but still felt without company, loneness would consume you.
He liked to see you alone, but he never stopped his other friends from coming. It helped encourage you to follow his Kingdom of Science as well.
After joining the team, you were the supplier for many items. Though you didnât need any trades now, Senku still gave you high fives or other trinkets you may like. (Seashells, shiny new weapons, take your pick.) Once your relationship with him got more intimate and he was comfortable, heâd give you little kisses on the cheeks or back of your neck in private.
Senku eventually calculated the day you woke up. It added to the investigation how you woke up earlier then and if the revival fluid had played a role.
Senku would ask for your help in the lab most often. Between you and Gen of the modern world, he liked to get second opinions for how things looked or worked, but it was an excuse for him to have more time with you. (And Gen knew it and encouraged it. He was so proud of the leak-haired scientist to be unconsciously falling for you!)

HAIRDORABLES/LOL Comparison
I picked up a âHairdorablesâ surprise doll at my local Target in order to compare the unboxing experience and the dolls themselves to the L.O.L. Dolls I have recently become obsesssed with.
The âHairdorablesâ have only 1 series so far. I love this because it feels like I didnât miss out on the beginning of the collecting curve, and like I donât have a bunch to catch up on. There are 12 different characters, and each girl has a standard, exclusive, and ultra exclusive version that is available. Itâs, of course, a surprise which one youâll open, which I also love.
I will say, so far, that I love her more by the minute, whereas the L.O.L. Dolls usually immediately make my heart swell, for some reason.
First, a few photos of the unboxing process and my initial comments:
I think the box that she comes in is really neat. It folds out into a play area setting with a little cardboard stage on the bottom and a colorful background that Iâm gonna love to use for doll photos. Each surprise came in like, a ketchup looking peel-open container. I canât say I like this more or less than the blind bags that are in the L.O.L. Packaging. Theyâre both really fun to open! Everything in this package is just a hint larger than the accessories for L.O.L. Most noteably, those bulky plastic boots. For reference, check out the short post featuring Countess; there is a photo of the shoes I unboxed for her there as well as some other tiny adorable shit.
Now, some photos of Harmony! This purple sparkly cloth dress, black and purple high-top boots, bow-tie, and guitar accessory are all included in in her signature/most common look: âHarmony Rocksâ.
The smaller, plastic dress black and pink dress that sheâs in at the end is one of the L.O.L. Fashion Crush series items. Itâs really short on her, but it definitely fits her shoulders quite nicely! I think she looks really good in it.
Post Unboxing
Pricing difference- at my local Target, an L.O.L. Eye Spy Series capsule is about 14 dollars and the HAIRDORABLES is near 12. Granted, the L.O.L. markets as having 15 total surprises, and the HAIRDORABLES box says it has 11 surprises. That being said, after the stickers and paper products that donât really do much for me except for labeling the dolls I have already acquired; in the end both dolls come with one pair of shoes, a complete outfit, and 1/2 accessories. I would say the number of products inside each of the packages is very similar.
Amount of waste- this is all just estimation because I didnât do any real measuring at all but it does seem that the amount of trash after opening the HAIRDORABLES box seems to be less than with the L.O.L.âs. When I was finished opening each doll, I found it was easier to organize and throw away the plastic for the HAIRDORABLES than for the L.OL.
The cardboard fold-out box for the HAIRDORABLES versus the capsule that the L.O.L. dolls come in seems to be of an obvious lesser quality than the hard, plastic colorful capsules that the L.O.L. dolls are safely snuggled in latex inside of. Opening an L.O.L. is almost like a birthing process to me; having to pull off the rubbery, placenta-like encasing that she lie nude in, piece by piece. There is a certain way that I take it off every time, too. Eyes first.
But the cardboard HAIRDORABLES box is very artistic looking, and photogenic I think. Iâll use it in my comic strips probably in upcoming posts, haha.
Unboxing Experience- oh I think I went in on this in the above answer. I think, now you know Iâm weird as fuck. đđźââď¸
Quality of Accessories- I like that the HAIRDORABLES clothing is actual cloth instead of plastic, but it's not as cute to me as the L.O.L. clothes. I guess itâs because the little plastic outfits are more unique to me than all of the Barbie clothes I have seen my whole life. The L.O.L. accessories are so cute and well-themed, and I absolutely love to find a teeny tiny facial mark or tattoo on one of their chubby little bodies. I am definitely going to play with getting some wigs for my L.O.L. dolls and knit clothing as well. That, I think, will really make me prefer them after-all. It will really make them perfect. Anyone know of any artists who make L.O.L. wigs?! đ The HAIRDORABLES donât (that I know of) have any outfits and accessories available separately, Iâm not sure that there is much available online yet. Also, the HAIRDORABLES doll comes dressed in her clothes, with the shoes wrapped as a surprise, whereas the L.O.L. doll comes either nudey or with little (sometimes color changing) undies and bra, making the outfit itself one of the surprises before youâre able to see the doll. I like that there is more to do with the L.O.L. wardrobe. I can go to Target or something if Iâm bored, or only want to spend 5 bucks on toys that day (yeah, right) and pick up a couple L.O.L. âFashion Crushâ pods to re-dress my existing dolls in. I am growing to like the rubber clothing more and more, too. So far, I have so many more L.O.L.âs than HAIRDORABLES accessories. I am learning how to put on and take the clothes off easier. I used to be like, pulling frustratingly on sleeves and arms and shit haha. I also like how the entire doll (rubber hair, clothes, and all) remains pretty resilient in my backpack or pocket all day. The L.O.L. dolls come with baby bottles and pacifiers, and the HAIRDORABLES come with things like a skateboard and a guitar. I also love the cute little cardboard I.D. card that each HAIRDORABLES came with. Good for collecting.
Quality/cuteness of Dolls- Both of these dolls are really well made for their prices. Both have a nice weight to them for their size, and both have 5 points of articulation: neck, both shoulders, and the pelvis at each leg. I would fucking LOVE if the next wave of either of these dolls had knee joints, but thatâs a cheapskateâs BJD fantasy.Â
ANYWAY. Each L.O.L. doll is able to perform one water action: spit, pee, squirt out of her ears, cry, or color change. In order to figure out which one of these actions your doll performs once unboxing, you fill her head with water (either via her water bottle or by dunking her under water) and then bring her back up, squeeeeeeeeeze, and see what happens. The color change ability is exposed with both hot and ice cold water. Itâs by far the coolest ability. This makes playing with these dolls, as well as watching the unboxing and now âtestingâ videos on Youtube super fun. The fact that they are not only completely water proof, but are made to play in the water is genius to me. And, another reason for rubber hair and remove-able wigs! aha! These dolls remind me definitely more of a baby doll than a Barbie or any other kind of action figure doll. They have cute little bulging bellies, and big, doe-y, innocent eyes. The HAIRDORABLES do not have any play options like this, but they are still super cute and do each have a story to tell. They remind me of a BRATZ doll, and have more of a teenage girl feel to their personality. They have longer, lean legs and a thinner torso than the L.O.L. My Favorite part about the HAIRDORABLES dolls is their large head and sweet painted faces. Oh, and obviously their HAIR! It is so silky soft, and super do-able. I sat on the living room floor and french braided my second doll, Skylarâs purple hair last night.Â
Size of Dolls- HAIRDORABLES stand approx. 5.5 inches tall, and are essentially the same size as the Shopkins SHOPPIES. L.O.L. dolls stand approx. 3.5 inches tall, quite a bit smaller. and boxier. and cuter. I think I definitely have a preference hahaha.Â
In conclusion, I am pretty happy with both dolls. I do prefer the L.O.L. doll because of itâs unique shape and tiny size, but I am happy to have both types of doll in my collection.Â
