it was medkit who convinced subspace! well, less convincing and more that subspace just followed him(?) honestly i'm unsure how yet... ok that's a lie. i have a vague hard-to-explain idea? i think the fight still happened, it just never progressed to the point it did in canon. and also it was similar to the noel & ashe scene at the end of sirius' conclusion, if you know that.

here's a cg redraw for your troubles as well as an excerpt of the dialogue from it. this is my vision.

after my food hc submission I started thinking of sleeping headcanons..aha..ha…zzzzzz…

- sleeping 15 hours gets an inphernal a full charge of life energy, but sleeping half of that is enough for them to get through the day

- characters like sword or boombox would prefer being at full energy (boombox especially before a performance)

- meanwhile, some like medkit (pre-disaster) and subspace would use food to boost them instead, because sleep is time wasted when they could be working

> post-disaster medkit is very glad he can sleep now

- it’s kind of dangerous to sleep for so long, especially in playground where I imagine a lot of break-ins happen. sleeping buddies help lessen the risk, where you have someone you trust nearby to get you to safety if anyone attempts anything. in fact, that’s why playground has so many gangs — sleeping buddies turn into sleeping groups turn into…gangs!

- for inphernals who don’t have the joy of a sleeping buddy for whatever reason, it’s common to see them nod off for a minute before shaking themselves awake, like they’re constantly on 1% battery. this can also be said for shuriken because he doesn’t get enough sleep, poor guy

- it’s kind of considered a weak move to attack someone while they’re asleep, like you’re a coward for not being able to face them head on. this deters mostly everyone, and it’s not taboo or anything, just something to make fun of

- creative inphernals with creative gears can use them in creative ways to creatively get people to think twice before attacking them in their sleep

> vine staff could create a cage of thorns around herself, boombox could play a 10 hour scary noises playlist on his gear, katana could…stand menacingly with his sword unsheathed..!! (not saying it would happen, just using them as examples)

- rocket, previously being in a probably really dangerous environment, needed a long time before he was comfortable enough to sleep more than 30 minutes because, yk, he was always on guard. and even then, it was a while before he felt safe enough to take his finger off his gear’s trigger while he was asleep

- the deities (+ banhammer) do not need sleep, though they could if they wanted to

- dom and valk need sleep however, but they’re so busy they don’t get more than 5 hours a night

you don’t have to tag everyone here cuz most of these were just small inclusions, but yeah this was fun to think about

! Random Subkit ramblings ahead !

So I’m very certain we all know about the ship Subkit. It’s definitely one of the more infamous ships in the Phighting community, I’m certain.

But I’m sure some of us have sometimes wondered… “is there a way Subkit would ever actually work out?”

Some people say it would work pre-disaster, but it’s been stated that even before that event they never liked each other. Others simply… try to make it work, but can’t connect the pieces properly.

I suddenly had a question to myself after a very stupid encounter with two freaks in the game, though… “Would Subkit work as a kismesissitude relationship”?

In case you don’t know what kismesissitude or kismesis means, it’s one of the four relationship quadrants that the trolls from Homestuck base their romance on.

Kismesissitude is basically a romantic relation built on hate. And I mean pure hate; they don’t love each other on the inside, they absolutely hate each other, but also find each other attractive and both pursue the relationship, if I’m recalling the description correctly.

I think you can see why I would ponder if this would be the only scenario in which Subkit works; Medkit and Subspace both hate each other, after all.

But alas, there is one thing that throws this possibility out the window; both parties pursuing the relationship. The reason it stops here is because it’s been stated by Soda that Medkit isn’t interested in any kind of relationship at all.

So in conclusion… Subkit fails both in love and in hate. L bozo. /j

I back pedaled since I realized I don't really act like Subspace so I made this, main version would be the pre-disaster version since it's more based off of me, as you can tell the expression is much softer than the deadpan one I would usually give regular Medkit, so with that!! have FrostyKit!!!

Hi! SO anon here! 🐎

I was able to catch the medkit i was talking about and he's so cute!! I think he's not even a year old from how small he is, he is not even half of broker's size and i'm sure scythe could step on him by accident

I've only been giving him oat milk because that's the only thing I have, I'm not sure if he would like eating scythe's bugs lol, any tips on wee lad beans?

Oh tiny... pre-disaster Medkits aren't too well documented, but I'll try my best!

He's probably gonna be rather skittish but also curious. Try to not move too quickly around him or he'll try to run.

They tend to be little tinkerers, and prefer messing around with sciency stuff rather than standard playtime. See if you can give him something he can take apart and put back together freely, or allow him to experiment with things around the house and how they work.

They're often much more used to the cold, and being too warm may cause heat exhaustion or fainting. Try to keep him in cooler areas until he can get more adjusted to warm environments.

While still commonly standoffish, they're often a decent bit more friendly than post-disaster Medkits, and more willing to trust other beans and inphernals.

i hope you know that my subspace's arc kind of was just "Wow he's pathetic" to "I wanna be around him. To harass him" to "He's hot" to "I want him all for myself and I'm going to use manipulation and physical harassment & threats for that!" to "I'M GOING TO KILL HIM WITH MY BARE HANDS I HATE HIM"

what this means of course is 1: i can never talk about him to any sane person in the phighting fandom i get burnt at the stake. and 2: i can never roleplay him near medkit. period. if it's pre disaster it's gonna go so wrong so fast (last time I did . Well. Let's just say I think both people involved are still scarred frm that rp) and if it's post disaster one of them is just gonna end up dead

i literally had to re-type this!! I LOST IT ALL...

ok so brief backstory, medkit & subspace were married in the past (i do NOT ship subkit btw). very unhealthy & abusive relationship, medkit was abused in all kinds of ways & was trying to get out the whole time so. yeah

ok so- how did subspace manage to keep medkit with him that long? simple, he built them a 'son'. allow me to reintroduce you to epsio!!

epsio was made to love, to 'feel'. medkit got attached to him, & that was another part- subspace could threaten to take him away & medkit would fold

anyways uh how they see each other & treat each other now? they're bitter exes. they never legally divorced so subspace still pulls the "youre my darling husband!!" card & medkit wants to kill him & take back epsio

Uhh headcanon Subspace likes to keep a lot of photos and pictures in case the rot gets to his brain one day. And also so he has plenty of spare pre-disaster Medkit photos to shred and stab whenever he has to let anger out
