Today there was a terrorist attack in St. Petersburg’s metro, at least 10 deaths already, and at least 50 injured.

Normally, I don’t approve #PrayFor-hashtags, but I do not want this  attack to be ignored or overlooked just because it hit Russia. Therefore #PrayForSaintPetersburg.

I usually try to avoid topics not related to art, but not today. 3.04.2017 - a terrible tragedy in St. Petersburg metro. At least 10 people dead and 50 victims. (If you’re interested you can find more detailed news, it’s scary)

I express my sincere condolences to the families of the victims. Today the whole country is crying with you. Pray for St. Petersburg!  Любимый сердцем город, держись!

My thoughts and prayers are with the dead and injured in the explosion in the subway in St. Petersburg. What happened is unacceptable! Never and nowhere!

You can speak anything, but it is my country, my native people. I couldn't keep silent!  

Rest in peace, innocent people...

Любимый сильный мой Петербург, мне всегда казалось, что ты неприкасаемый. Осознание произошедшего накрывает с новой силой. Страшно осознавать, что все это рядом с тобой и твоими близкими. Просто не верится. Берегите себя. Сегодня мой бывший одноклассник днём написал в наш диалог с классом вконтакте о происходящем именно в первые минуты после взрыва. Как он спустился в метро,а там всё в дыму, паника, бегают службы спасения, все кричат, и всех выгоняют обратно,станцию закрывают. до слёз жаль тех людей,которые погибли от людской жестокости. Читаю посты про общественный транспорт,бесплатное такси , про #домой . Сегодня весь Петербург ощущается одной большой семьёй, несмотря ни на что, в людях осталось добро.

Здравствуйте. Я не знаю, говоришь ли ты по-русски? I just wanted to say thank you for remembering St Petersburg. It really touches my heart that you haven't forgotten. Unfortunately I'm from the us and I'm so ashamed of the awful reaction of people from that country. It sickens me how cold hearted people can be. Do you know, is there anything I can do to help the people in St Petersburg? Any way to get in contact with them and offer them some support?

I am not very familiar with terror-victim-charities, and I believe there isn’t much to do about it if you don’t personally know any of the victims, but you can;

Consider donating blood to the St. Petersburg Red Cross if you live in/near Saint Petersburg.

Donate to the Red Cross there in general.

Raise awareness about the attack on social media, but stay empathetic and respectful. This might help the surviving victims and relatives feel just a bit better.

Of course, it isn’t guaranteed that any of these things will actually help the victims,  but I can imagine the 50 survivors don’t want to make their names public this shortly after the attack, so helping them directly is tricky. But as I said above, consider these things if you want to help. If I find something new, I’ll try to update this ask.
