she halted herself as soon as she spoke it. An unintentional slip of the tongue. Man she thought. You're a good Man. What a strange error for her to make, but she knew why. She had made the mistake of glancing fleetingly at her synthetic companion as she spoke, he watched her not with an empty droid gaze, but with an almost childlike innocence. He may look to be a full grown man, but as is the case for most company synthetics he wouldn't have been alive for more than a few years, that newborn wonder and curiosity was still present in his very core and she could see it.

After a very slight pause, he replied "Thank you, Ripley." He was visibly moved, eyes smiling, accepting the praise enthusiastically.

Ripley sighed a bit of relief, anyone else would've taken offence, perhaps the world was still so new to Bishop that he didn't even recognise it was a faux pas. That thought only endeared him more to her, he really was just a boy.

She had to look away as a smile bloomed across her face, it was a very welcome feeling after everything they'd been through. Shaking her head a little she muttered "Such a good boy." Again.

She turned to leave, she had many duties to complete. She busied herself and attempted to politely ignore how Bishop hung around her for much of the day, following her like a puppy. He had his excuses and his reasons of course, all very logical and reasonable, but Ripley knew why, and she was perfectly fine with it.
