Sarah Paulson Makes an Appearance in Prada’s Short Film, Neon Dreams

This week, Prada released a short movie to celebrate their fall 2018 collection and actress Sarah Paulson made an unexpected cameo. The videos also feature drag queen and fashion icon, Violet Chachki and model Amanda Murphy, who appeared in the campaign images released earlier this month. The visually stunning shots meld the neon lights of the Las Vegas strip with the colourful clothes seen in Prada’s new collection. Paulson plays a number of roles in the film, taking on the persona of a valet boy, bartender and even Marilyn Monroe. The actress has chosen to wear Prada on a number of occasions, most recently at the Ocean’s 8 premiere in New York. The dress, which was fluorescent green and textured with sequinned fringe, totally embodied the fun of this fashion film. (WWD)

Alexander McQueen’s Muse Annabelle Neilson, Dies at 49

Annabelle Neilson, former model and muse of Alexander McQueen, passed away on July 12th at her home in Chelsea, London. The cause of death has been reported as a heart attack. Neilson and McQueen met when they were both just starting out their careers and quickly became close friends. “He liked my wackiness — and the fact that when I went out, I made his outfits live,” Neilson said to W Magazine back in 2012. Neilson had struggled with drug addiction in the past and definitely felt the pressure that came from being in the public eye. McQueen also shared these struggles and eventually took his own life in 2010, a choice which devastated Neilson. In recent years, the model took on a variety of different projects, starring in the Bravo TV series, Ladies of London and penning a series of children’s books. This week, many people took to social media to remember Neilson, including Kate Moss and Sadie Frost, who both publicly mourned the loss of one of their closest friends. (New York Times)

Rag & Bone Create a Limited-Edition T-Shirt to Help Protect Wild Tigers 

Because of illegal poaching and human encroachment, tigers are being seen less and less in the wild. In fact, only 4,000 of these big cats remain. Project CAT is an initiative that is working toward protecting these animals in the wild and Rag & Bone have created a limited-edition T-shirt to help raise money for the program. The funds will help to conserve nearly two million acres of land in Bhutan and India, and also help support the World Wildlife Fund. The shirt, which features imagery by graphic artist, Boy Kong, can be bought online at rag-bone.com and also in a selection of their physical stores. It will cost $95 and customers are encouraged to post photos in the shirt using the hashtag, #projectcat to spread awareness before Global Tiger Day on July 29th. (WWD)
