PSYCHO PASS - GINOZA FAN ART
A charming Ginoza in a truly striking drawing. Congratulations to the artist above all for his facial features. I find that frowning but always attentive look that hides a heart of gold particularly well rendered.

Thank you! The response so far has been really encouraging. I guess there are more Mika fans out there than I originally thought.
As for the scene of Mika confessing to Ginoza, it can be found in Psycho-Pass 3: Official Profiling. In addition to character stats and trivia, the book features several short stories, one of which is set after Sinners of the System: Case. 1. In it, Mika reveals that she was the one who gave away Aoi Tsunemori’s location, but Ginoza had already guessed as much. To make her feel better, he admits to experiencing similar feelings of guilt over the way he treated Masaoka. He then urges Mika to keep the truth to herself rather than reveal it to Akane, because he knows that Akane will eventually forgive her, and neither of them deserve easy absolution for their sins. Instead, they should have to carry the weight of what they’ve done with them for the rest of their lives.
I really wish they’d been able to fit this scene into Sinners of the System, but I guess they just didn’t have time. Still, it’s another great moment that highlights the similarities between Mika and Ginoza." //
Thank you for answering.
Oh, that makes more sense. I never had access to that information. I'm just an idiot who can't read Japanese, only English and French. I came across a few excerpts about PP3 the official profiling but these didn't appear. And regarding the SS, I could only read the translated version of the novel on case n°3.
You're welcome! Happy I was able to was able to shed some light on the issue.
And I'd hardly call being fluent in two languages stupid. If it makes you feel any better, I'm in the same boat, only with English and Spanish. The only reason I was able to read this particular story -- or any of the other stories in Official Profiling -- was because of online fan translations. The PP fandom is lucky to have so many passionate, invested fans willing to do the legwork for the rest of us.

Frederica and Homura as potential love interests?
Ok, before writing this post, I must admit that this thought has been wandering in my mind for some time and I will do my best to be as analytical as I can in the explanation. First of all, I've truly and wholeheartedly supported Shinkane since season 1 and I am sure that before or after, they will be endgame (in Psycho Pass' meaning, well... offscreen if we're lucky enough), so this post is just an attempt to see what is happening.
Let's make a premise: PP3, among all the seasons of PP, is the one that addressed romance in a more evident way, somehow. Not that it is a priority and it's fair as it is, since the focus of the series is basically human nature and its reaction to a world dominated by AI, but among the three seasons, PP3 caressed the topic. Not that it wasn't already addressed in the previous installments (Shion and Yayoi, Kaori's wedding, Akane's growing fascination, and not-so-well-hidden attraction and love for Kougami, Mika and her schoolmate, just to say), but starting with Sinners of the System, something else happened. Masaoka and Sae, Sugo and his friend's wife (tell me whatever, but he seemed to care a little bit too much and I found something similar in Arata's behavior towards Maiko)... and in season 3, the already mentioned Arata, both with Maiko (the hospital scene) and Karina, but also with Irie and Mao (I loved the whole music box scene) and Mao *not-so-well-hidden* fancying Kei. Did I mention the brief and glorious Shinkane's scenes? The cherry blossoms in First Inspector screamed "LOVE" in caps lock.
Well, ladies first, so let's talk about the mysterious and glamorous agent of the SAD: Hanashiro Frederica. When her character was revealed, all of us (or at least, the majority) thought that she could be a potential threat or a possible enemy. So far, it seems that apart from bigger fanservice than all the girls in PP, a still-secret agenda, and the fact that she managed to recruit Kougami, Gino and Sugo in her team (as well as granting them some privileges), there isn't any evidence that she could be an enemy. Yes, the whole Ministry of Foreign Affairs/SAD goals and mission aren't clear, that's why I hope we might get PP4 or a dedicated special, in order to understand more about them and her apparently personal motivations too. Now... thanks to the lovely @kumapillow who kindly translated the SAD extra chapter, something made me wonder. I already said in another post that Frederica seems to have a soft spot for Kougami. Just a few words about Kougami. So far, with the exception of the novels, where his feelings are clearer, he's never shown particular interest in women (or relationships in general). In the profiling book, it's said that he doesn't remember his first love, but it's also said that he would let Sybil choose for him once the time comes, until the movie updated version when it's said that his favorite type of girl is a companion who can keep up a conversation. Considering that in season 1 he was revenge-driven and Makishima-absorbed, romance was practically out of question (also, if we consider that he's been a workaholic since he was an Inspector, I'm not this impressed if he never had a proper relationship). Complete silence in season 2, then in the movies he said that wherever he goes, he's punctually involved in some conflict, aka... no time for romance again (for ghost!Makishima's joy). I read sometimes that the fact that he declined Shion's advances in episode 18 with the sentence "I don't think we are each others' type" was eloquent about his sexuality, since he probably is gay or bi, at least. I don't think he is, but simply, being the kind person he is, Kougami just found a colloquial way to remember Shion where her heart truly laid (and in the novel, it's more obvious). No surprise, during the fight against Rutaganda, when the mercenary said that listening to Kougami made him happy like he was listening to some Wagner's piéce, Kougami promptly answers that he could have rather listened to those words from a glamorous beauty than from him (he used the word "bijin" there). I won't mention all the Shinkane subtle of the movie, but it was truly obvious how things had changed for Akane and Kougami and what could have been happened if the mercenaries hadn't come. Case 3 shows that his relationship with the fair sex still hasn't progressed this much... though I LOVED Kougami's interactions with Tenzing and the teasing of the little girl who said that he reminded her of her dad (ok, that's progress, since in a radio drama both he and Gino made a small child crying because of their idiocy) and I headcanon that in the years past Case 3 Kou had some chances to hear back from Tenzing (because of MoFA and Frederica's care), when it comes to the blonde colleague... I guess that things haven't changed this much. Now, so far, Kougami has NEVER shown any sign of reciprocating Frederica's possible feelings, but it seems that he's the only one who knows how to cheer her up or to understand her. Coming back to Frederica, after this digression, that's the core: she technically has all the qualities Kougami would possibly need. She's a glamorous beauty (hello there, reference to the gekijouban). She's a companion who could keep up a conversation. This point is trickier, because the conversation under the moonlight (now that it comes to my mind, it was also said that if he ever had to set a date, he would probably talk about work or taking somebody to stargaze), which largely reminds me of his conversation with Akane in the movie (I'm talking about the structure of the scene in general), shows that
Frederica too is perfectly able to lecture Kougami and pull the shits out of him about his true motives for keeping on traveling, she's been interested in him since the lessons with professor Saiga, but also... the fact that she mentioned his mother, I think was some kind of a rehash of the novel version of the conversation between Akane and Kou. I was under the impression that Ubukata and Shiotani were trying to test the waters... Also, Frederica is a skilled fighter, she has a no-nonsense attitude and she's pretty harsh in what she says, but she's also friendly, humorous, and caring (the days they spent together with Tenzing). Then the renowned scene of the two of them making the deal... ok, I need to admit that in the beginning, I didn't see it as malicious, neither I do it now, but... mhhh... sharing the same bottle of water to make a deal... well... kinda intimate, right? Not that Kougami made a fuss, but Frederica was... pleased? After all, she didn't do any of this with Sugo (also, her approach to him was more formal) and we still don't know how she recruited Gino (I think it happened because of Kougami, after Akane's demotion)... I don't know, but it seems to me that her approach toward Kougami (at least in Case 3 and in the manga extras) is more personal... after all, when she approached him the first time, she was quite intrigued, since she wanted to take a look at the face of a celebrity like him (all said while pleasantly smiling). The extra chapter shows that while Gino and Sugo's efforts to help their chief were wasted (not for us who read), only Kougami's proposal was well received by her. Shooting like in a guerrilla field... after all, Frederica is a tough one (just like Akane) and Kougami knows it very well... like Gino adds at the end, she's definitely a female version of him, but she also is somebody able to kick Kou's glorious ass (just like Akane). Now, time will say where the truth is, but I feel like that if Ubukata and Shiotani keep on following the route "there's a deep respect and a bond which goes beyond love and romance between Shinkane... and also Kougami doesn't see Akane in that way", and instead they choose to spice things up (but I don't think so) Frederica might be the one chosen. Luckily enough, our dear former Enforcer seems to have chosen the celibate warrior monk route, but I'm still sure that things can change and in the end, the most natural outcome will be Shinkane. Well... since the post has become longer than I expected, I'll write another time of Shizuka and Akane, but thanks for reading until now!

hii i think i watched the first two psycho pass seasons back in 2015 (and i forgot everything lmao), but then i kinda lost my interest in anime and now i'm back so my question is does season 3 conclude the story of should i read the manga bc i wanna get back into it!!
HELLO <333 so actually with the psycho pass manga, most of the existing manga material came after and is based on the anime (kanshikan tsunemori akane manga = psycho pass anime, psycho pass 2 manga = psycho pass 2 anime, psycho pass 3 manga (very hard to find in english) = psycho pass 3 anime) so there isn't a manga continuation of the story after the pp3 anime ends.
BUT!!! if u want more psycho pass material THERE IS the kanshikan kougami shinya manga (set before the pp anime, when kougami was an inspector) and that has no anime adaptation so i would defo look into that!!! i dont think the kks manga was ever officially translated into english past UHH like chapter 3 or 4 iirc? but if u want to dm me i have a link to the whole thing in french SKLFLK in case u want to do like. a google translate read or just look at the pretty pictures LOOL
also u probably already know this but there are four psycho pass movies that come between s2 and s3! (psycho pass: the movie, sinners of the system case 1, sinners case 2, and sinners case 3)
#cherub.mail#cherub.anon#cherub.pp#WHEN U SEE K.OUGAMI IN HIS INSPECTOR ERA... *MOANS*#HE LOOKS SO GOOD IT MAKES ME CRAZY#bc hes always wearing a;;;;; three piece suit LKSFLKLK

Psycho Pass - timeline and why you shouldn’t hate on S3 that much
I’ve been following Psycho Pass ever since the original run of Season 1 back in 2012. I’d like to make you and everyone who disliked S3 understand some things. Hope I structure this well, here goes.
Obviously there will be some spoilers.
First let’s take a look at the releases in the PP universe so far. We have:
Season 1
Season 2
Movie
Sinners of The System 1,2,3 (2 being a prequel)
Season 3
First Inspector
Before I write anything I’m going to stop you and say that nothing tops Season 1. So there, now that we have that out of the way let’s continue.
Season 1
Takes place in late 2112-2113
Central characters are Akane and Kogami and let’s face it, for many Kogami is the one who carried the show, even if some consider him to be a “generic edgy” protagonist I think he’s pretty solid as a character at this point.
Akane has had MAJOR character development throughout the whole season and I’ll never forget how upset some people were that she was a noob. That was the whole point, she is a newbie and a model citizen who trusts the system, her character evolution revolves around coming to the realization that the system is flawed.
Makishima as a villain was phenomenal and not because quoting from books , but because his motives and reasoning were clearly established and he made both protagonists question themselves and the system.
Season 1 is written by Gen Urobuchi , the following seasons (except the movie) are not written by him.
Season 2
Takes place in 2114.
A trainwreck, don’t even want to go here. The disappointment was huge.
I found Mika to be extremely annoying and unbearable with 0 character growth. The only highlights for this season for me were Gino and Akane.
Onwards.
The Movie
Takes place 3 years after the events of Season 1, in 2116.
Nothing of major impact happens but if you love the old cast , namely Gino, Akane, Kogami you’ll enjoy this and I have a feeling this is what they were betting on and wanted to see: the public reaction to the old cast.
The interaction between Akane and Kogami is the highlight (another one being Gino vs Kogami).
It’s clear as day that Akane evolved as a character and Kogami is questioning his past, so let’s say some minor character development.
Sinners of the System
If you enjoy the universe and aren’t too attached to the main cast you will like these, although case 3 is about Kogami so I’m sure it’s the one most people will like.
Case 1 has some minor Mika character development (she still sucks imho)
Case 2 is a prequel that sets up some details about the storyline that will be the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Case 3 is the one you’ll want to watch if you want to see S3/First Inspector as it revolves around Kogami and him coming to terms with his thoughts when he is asked by a young girl to train her as he sees in her a version of himself and where this will lead (girl seeks revenge) .
His story arc regarding Sasayama’s death, revenge, Makishima is complete, it ends here as he decides to head back to Japan.
This triggers the potential for the future series/movies in the Psycho Pass universe to deal with the (possible) unresolved storyline of dealing with Akane once he gets back to Japan, because he will have to face her at one point.
So after Case 3 Kogami is already a complete character , there is no strong conflict or drive for him as the one which had driven the plot of season 1.
We already know everything about him.
Let me jump back to Gino for a brief moment, his first arc concluded when his father died and he became an enforcer, his current arc might be related to what I’ll get to in a second.
Season 3
Alright so here we are,a new season nobody was expecting and 2 new protagonists we expected even less.
Taking place in 2120 , 8 years after the events of Season 1 it follows Arata and Kei in their own CID adventures.
The tone of the series is vastly different from both S1 and S2, most notably :
it feels like those friendly buddy cop TV shows
the violence is greatly reduced, no more “shock value”
the side characters aren’t invested into, they’re just there for being there and plot devices (they’re alright, the new enforcers get some characterization but it’s not season 1 level)
Arata’s “skill” - if you think about it as high level empathy it’s gonna feel less dumb
Being new protagonists, the writers had to make sure we get to like them by offering us details about their past and what drives their motives, I’d say they did an ok job at that.
There’s no room for comparison to Akane and Kogami, those 2 are already established characters who have resolved story arcs and suffered changes.
Keep in mind Akane is 28 now and Kogami is 36, whereas the new protagonists are in their early 20s. They have time for character evolution, it’s easier to write new characters into the universe than deal with established ones such as Akane and Kogami.
Also, we see Kou visiting Akane while she’s in jail, her not being surprised means this may have happened before, which leads to further questions in the storylines that will definitely be explored in the new PP installments to follow:
Details on the incident which caused her to be in jail
What happened when Kogami returned to Japan and how the Sibyl system dealt with this
Kou reuniting with Ginoza, since both work for the hot blonde now
etc, you get the idea
First Inspector
It’s actually not that bad, I’m not going to spoil anything (well...not everything) but I suggest giving it a chance. If you don’t want to watch S3 just read about it and watch this, the most important things to take are from episode 3′s last scenes
Akane is released AS AN ENFORCER by Sibyl and will help Mika
Kogami is sent to get her, there will definitely be a recap between these two
Arata and Kei both have secrets regarding the case they worked on, not gonna spoil anything
Yayoi is alive, and will live with Shion. Just puttin this out there since they’re everyone’s favorite lesbians
Mika is still shit.
Gino is still based as fuck
Also, there is a post credits scene with Akane saying something along the lines of “ let’s talk about the incident that got me jailed “ . This was only in the theatrical release so you can bet your ass we’re getting more PP in the future.
Thoughts
Lastly, what everyone needs to understand is that S1 made PsychoPass become a franchise. A franchise revolves around different characters in the same universe, sometimes the focus is on the OGs , but sometimes it isn’t.
I would like to note here that Gen Urobuchi is responsible for Season 1 (you know, the dude who wrote Madoka and other stuff like that...) and he did a great job writing a compelling story. Did he want PP to turn into a franchise? This I do not know and I have a feeling this might explain his absence from the later installments of the series.
He wrote a complete story in 22 episodes which could have been left at that but seeing how well received the first season was it spawned a franchise.
What I want to say is please give Arata and Kei a chance (S3 protags) . They’re not that bad and they help the franchise stay alive as it seems they were pretty well received in Japan. Would you rather Mika be the main character again?! HELL NO
Now I love the main trio - Akane,Kou,Gino - as much as everyone but at this point they’re so high level it’d be hard to write a series just about them. Make one wrong move and the fanbase will hate you.
Also, this one is for all you Kogami x Akane shippers, I view their relationship as professional only but I’ll be damned if I didn’t scream at those 2 short scenes these 2 had in S3 and FI .Can’t wait to see the interactions between grown up Akane and seasoned peace-of-mind Kogami.
If you’re still here thanks for reading my rant, hope I made sense.

hi! I'm curious if they ever explained why the Ministry of Foreign Affairs gets special treatment from Sybil?
Sybil system watches everything, includes the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Every ministry has redacted files/things that cannot be accessed by everyone. I think besides the special inspectors psycho pass from Ministry of Foreign Affairs, they mentioned about Ministry of Health too (but I forget where I found this, it’s mentioned in PP 2 or PP 3; they didn’t go deeper, just like a small talk).
In PP Sinners of the System Case 2, it’s mentioned that Frederica does dirty jobs in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Maybe that’s also the reason why they need a latent criminal to do the dirty jobs so ‘normal people’ won’t get their hue clouded–they don’t wanna take a big risk making more latent criminals. But I think, Sybil’s human form in Ministry of Foreign Affairs (like Chief Kasei) watches over the Ministry. (It’s showed in Case 1 that a man named Karasuma is Sybil).
In the same movie, Case 2, it’s mentioned that monitoring civilian is under the jurisdiction of the Public Safety Bureau. It’s hard for Public Safety Bureau staff to meddle with other ministry affairs, and vice versa, because each Ministry has a ‘special treatment’ or regulations. Teppei should’ve known what the dirty job the Foreign Affairs did, that’s the reason why he declined Frederica’s offer. But then Frederica said, that he might join her because the situation he’s facing later–which is become past tense in PP 3 and this might revolve the case where Akane ended up being isolated.
I hope they’ll tell us more about the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in later episodes. Because from what I get until now is the dirty job they did is involve in domestic affairs instead of foreign affairs. They mentioned in Case 2 about precaution of wars so they meddle with Public Safety Bureau because of what happened in SEAUn (from movie 1). But before that, they did shady things with Otomo case in PP SS Case 2. For me, it’s like they testing Sybil System capability and its closest subjects (Public Safety Bureau’s staff).
If you wanna get more hints about the Ministry of Foreign Affairs or Sybil outside Public Safety Bureau, you should watch the 1st movie and the trilogy.

You know, in a way I'm surprised that the fandom is getting /bored/ of Psycho-Pass 3 but like... Ubukata just can't be trusted with this show lol
Like I've been camping on the tag to check some superficial spoilers because I refuse to watch this show until I see the final verdicts on it, but I'm getting to the conclusion PP producers are pretty much lending this franchise to Ubukata under a bunch of restrictions - which means he's essentially writing filler seasons.
You can argue that S2 had the main cast and had the lasting consequence of Mika learning about Sybil but honestly it doesn't seem the kind of thing that will be crucial for the rest of the series. Nothing that happened there seemed important in the grand scheme of things and now S3 is focusing on a whole new cast and doesn't seem interested in explaining whatever happened between SS movies and S3, so...
Basically I think fans can safely skip anything written by Ubukata because it's Urobochi and Makoto Fukami setting up the important pieces. I expect some sort of movie or OVA actually explaining what went down with Akane written by one of those writers (Fukami probably as I feel Urobochi has moved on from this franchise already)
(p.s. if you haven't watched Sinners of the System already DO IT, there's some decent subs on nyaa already. Case 1 is kinda crappy similarly to S2 but it's nice to see Ginoza in action and the other two movies are excellent, with great characters moments.)
#psycho pass#just a few thoughts#I could be wrong of course as I'm just reading spoilers instead of watching#but when I think of how only SS Case 1 touches on something that happened in S2 and it was the only movie not written by Fukami#feels very telling you know#japanese fans don't seem as frustrated with S2 as western fans#so they keep Ubukata around to write filler and milk the fanbase (that's my theory)#and I guess someone in the PP committee really likes Ubukata#but fuck them for keeping tjis misogynist in a franchise with so many female fans :))))#ANYWAY

DEMON, Polina Ogiy
DEMON-Evil spirits — the "fallen angels, servants of Satan, his messengers, the angels, the messengers of God. The gospel claim that sickness and brain fog occur as a result of the intervention of demons, because of their exile (often with the help of a stick) is depicted as a small black figures flying out of the mouth of the sufferer. They are depicted carrying away to Hell the soul of the sinner, as the angel carries the soul of the righteous to heaven. Or they fight with the angels for the possession of a human soul (ARS MORIENDI). Usually Satan represents paganism and demons can appear in scenes of conversion to Christianity or victory over the heathen. Have similarities with Satan (the wings, horns and tails), armed with a spear or a pitchfork. Cast them out by SV. Varfalomey SV. Zenon poverzheny at the feet of the SV. Norbert (his conversion to Christianity) SV. Geminiani (the expulsion of the spirits) SV. Catherine of Siena (overcome temptation). the attack of the demons of temptation SV. Anthony the Great is trying to tip the scale of SV. Michael's last judgment convicts pulled into Hell the last judgment the soul carry the unrepentant thief Crucified Christ being dragged soul to Hades Eurydice Orpheus whispers to Judas Iscariot blow out the candle the nuns of St. Genevieve as servants of Satan, kill children, job support in the air Simon the sorcerer SV. Peter the Apostle defeated the demons before Christ's Descent into Hell in front of the preacher (they were hunted angels) Ignatius of Loyola depart from the ship in a storm SV. Mark (cast them out three saints). Classification of demons the Origin of Demons are fallen angels: this is the official teaching of the Christian Church. I think the story of the rebellion of the angels are familiar to everyone - hints of it are in the Bible, appealing to her Christian thinkers, a brilliant literary description of Anglomania is given in j.Milton. I remind you this story briefly. Light one of God's angels named Lucifer ("light-bearer") became proud of their power and intend to take the throne of the Lord. He raised rebellion in heaven and took a third of the angelic hosts. Against the rebels was made by the Archangel Michael with the faithful God of the heavenly armies. In the resulting battle the rebellious angels led by Lucifer (Satan) were cast out of heaven into hell and became demons, whose only aim now is to sow evil. This story has many interpretations, but here we present just a completely original version of the origin of demons, is fundamentally different from the Orthodox: 1. In the middle ages there was a view that demons were originally created by God to commit evil. Advocates of this idea was based on a quote from Isaiah, where God says: "I create the waster to destroy" (54, 16). In rabbinical treatises States that Satan was created on the sixth day of creation at the same time with eve; evil spirits were created "between the suns", that is, between dusk and dawn on the eve of the first Sabbath, when God created their souls, already dawn approached Saturday, and he had no time to create bodies for them. 2. In the heretical doctrine bogomilov, as well as in folk beliefs, not get rid of pagan dualism, Satan (Satanael) is not God's creation, and the independent opposing God figure, much like the Persian Ahriman. Both forces, good and evil, participate in the process of creation of the world; in contrast to God's angels, Satan creates his demonic army, striking his staff on the flint. 3. The apocryphal Book of Enoch recounts the history of the cohabitation of the "sons of God" (angels) with the "daughters of men". The angels exchanged out of lust the Kingdom of heaven on earthly Vale, were cursed by God and became demons. This theory in the middle ages was shared by many Church authorities (eg. Thomas Aquinas). 4. In the same Book of Enoch says that marriages of fallen angels with earthly women was a tribe of monstrous giants. When God destroyed the giants, from their bodies came forth the evil spirits. 5. The ancient Hebrews believed that many evil spirits were born from the intercourse of Adam with female spirits (or eve mens perfume) within those one hundred and thirty years that Adam and eve were separated after the fall. Many demons birthed from Adam and his first wife — Lilith, later she turned into a demon. 6. In demons of three types — Shedim, Rukhin and Lilin — was turned into the part of the people, scattered after the failed construction of the tower of Babel 7. Finally, according to later popular belief, the armies of hell continually replenished by souls of great sinners; children of the damned parents, and offspring of Incubus and succubi. However, all the demons of the lowest discharge, as various vampires, ghosts and werewolves, also make up the army of Satan. The number that the demons there are a great many, no doubt. However, since the first centuries of Christianity, theologians and demonologists with remarkable tenacity practice math, trying to calculate the exact number of infernal spirits. Maxim of tyre in the 2nd century calls the very modest figure of 30,000, but subsequent centuries have inflated the part of the devil's troops to incredible limits. Alphonse de Spina in 1459, on the grounds that from God have disappeared exactly one third of the heavenly host, called the number of demons 133 306 608. In the 16th century, a researcher, taking as a basis the biblical number of the beast", it counted 66 infernal princes, commanders of 6 660 000 devils. Johann Weir, the famous disciple of Agrippa, claimed that in hell live 7 405 926 demons, managed 72 princes. The demons form 1111 6666 units for each. All surpassed the Lutheran theologians, who called a fantastic figure— 2 665 866 746 664 demon.Greek. Daimon In Greek mythology, a generalized notion of some vague and unformed divine power, evil or (sometimes) beneficent, often determines the life the fate of man. This instantly arising and instantly leaving a terrible and fatal force that can be called by the name with which you cannot engage in any communication. Suddenly maglinov, he immediately produces an action and then disappears. In this way, obvious vestiges of the so-called sudden pianism (in the terminology of G. Sometimes the Olympic gods, too, are called on, but only in generalized or indefinite sense in the case when God has not shown himself individually and hides your name. D. acts directly on the person preparing trouble (Hom. Od. 295 XII), tempted (XVI 194), sends trouble (XIX 512), ominous dreams (XX 87). D. directs man to the path leading to any of the events, often catastrophic (Hom. Od. VI, 172; VII, 248; Il. XXI 92). D. suddenly causes a particular idea (Hom. II. IX 600; Od. III 27). Have you analysed the key visuals of ‘Sinners of the System’ yet? And do you like them? I’ve heard the artist drew some hidden messages in the posters which hint at the plot. Now I’m trying to find blog entries where people may have analysed the images. I’m curious. I recently wrote something like an analysis of Kou’s poster on my blog, but now I think it wasn’t a good idea. I need to read other fans’ theories to not feel so alone anymore... ;) Btw, I really enjoyed reading your fanfic!!!
Hello! I haven’t analyzed much beyond the obvious, to be honest. I went to your blog to read your analysis but couldn’t find it. I’d love to hear your ideas. Until the movies come out in dvd with subs, all we can do is speculate and break down whatever little information we have.
Having said that, I know the PP staff pays a lot of attention to detail. At this point they probably know the fans will disseminate every little thing. On the Case 3 poster, Kogami is standing on a very high crag between two people: Tenzing and Frederica. Given such high precipice, I would think Kogami is shown to be in a dangerous, unpredictable situation. He looks at Tenzing while Frederica waits at the other end. I’m not sure if each one of them is supposed to represent different polarities or choices or paths.
Something that’s fairly premonitory about Kogami’s return to Japan is the sun rising right above his head. I think that is a very clear symbolism (the sun rising from the East, from home to him) that signals his return.
I especially love how they imagined this futuristic Nepal: the diesel-punk architecture evoking ancient religions or that aspect of spirituality that still exists even in this dystopian future. They did the same thing in Shamballa in SEAUn, which I thought was brilliant and very telling of the Sybil System as perfectly integrating and co-opting spirituality to further itself. Shamaballa means Shangri-la which means an idillic place, a sort of paradise. Sybil purports to solve that existential anguish caused by free will and of the struggle with finding one’s own destiny. It cuts through all the pain to reach enlightenment or happiness; it skips the struggle of suffering (as long as your hue is clear.) Now that we have seen some stills from the movie and we have some spoilers, I think that Kogami took precisely the path of suffering to reach that enlightenment. He rejects the system and embraces the struggle, even if it pains him (also, it’s not like has much of a choice given his situation.) I personally think he carries a lot of shame, because he really was one of the best of the system: a brilliant student; a brilliant detective. His hue clouding was a type of fall from grace and his mistake was committing murder and cutting himself loose from all relations. His struggle seems to be between acceptance of the past and moving on towards the future.
Anyway, I’m rambling now. I loved how they imagined those incredible structures over the mountains with Buddha figures and dragons inserted in them. Those are very beautiful details. As for the bottom picture, I’m not sure if the pink from Kogami’s cigarette could refer to Akane (am I reaching too much?) since in the intro from Season 1 Akane is shown in pink when seen from his perspective and his cigarette smoke then is also pink. At this point, the color pink perhaps represents his obsessions and addictions; perhaps somewhat destructive but comforting in the same way one is comfortable with familiar things. To my friend @cleverwolfpoetry, the detail of Kogami changing brand of cigarettes seemed important and perhaps it could symbolize the death of the old Kogami (seen on the bottom of the poster, drawn with chalk: something that can be erased) and the birth of a new Kogami. Perhaps, a freer Kogami who has found some peace inside himself at last.
I’m sorry for such a long response. I hope I didn’t put you to sleep. I was precisely trying to work on my fan fiction and was lacking inspiration, so thank you for making me take a second look at that poster. Let me know what you think too and thank you for reading Dragnet. I really appreciate it. ☺️

I just finished season 1 of Psycho Pass and I heard there's a movie between season 2 and 3. Do you know where I could find that?
Hi.
If you’re talking about Psycho Pass: The Movie, it’s on Amazon (for $$), Funimation (free w subscription), and I hear it is also floating around YouTube.
If you’re asking about PP: Sinners of the System, I hear Case 1 has been translated into English by fans, and I am sure they are working on 2 & 3.
If you want to see the manga of SS, ask @cleverwolfpoetry. She’s working hard to translate Japanese into English and she’s doing an incredible job.
Good luck!

It's been a long while since I watched it but do you know if the Psycho-Pass system is only implemented in Japan or is it international? Could be interesting if other countries had harsher or more lax levels or didn't use the system all together (Makishima would have opinions)
Hey about that Sybil system question before I think but not 100 percent that it's only present in Japan lol thanks for your time!
hii ! ! ! sorry im only getting to this now i just got online!!
so in the psycho pass universe starting in s1, it's correct that the system is only implemented in japan!! but if you watched the pp movie, that dealt with the implications of deploying the sybil system on an international level. it was deployed outside of japan in the SEAUN (fictional confederation of several countries), more specifically as a test run of sorts on shamballa float. i can't speak on the sinners case 2 film or season 3 since i haven't yet watched those but iirc in sinners case 1, the system was implemented a little differently bc the little prison society thing was kind of isolated and had its own rules!!
BUT YES i think it would def be interesting to explore how the system would function in different places!!! and YEAHHskdjskdj makishima .. <333
#cherub.mail#cherub.anon#cherub.pp#IF U HAVENT WATCHED THE P.SYCHO PASS MOVIE U SHOULD IT'S VERY INTERESTING#i enjoyed it!!!
