been seeing a bit of powerpoint special transition/morph effects videos, especially the one 50 minute long one where the student showcases how to programm with ppp and how to generate fractals and such with it etc etc. which is really interesting to see how that software interprets and processes various inputs and shapes and all. also caroline polacheks powerpoint performance was a real good idea. well and ive been aware you could export presentations as videos, which that student mentioned too. and . you see where im going w this. and, if you wanted to, could use powerpoint to programm a music video on a budget if you feel it'd work for you, having shapes and 3d objects fly around from slide to slide. cant exactly imagine timing the slides and actions to the music since its not designed for that at all, so for now i can only picture using it for very drawn out minimal electronic music. to be honest

Due to having the numbers, the social dynamics within the Wayne household are flipped. People outside Wayne Manor look down on Dick, Jason, Cass and Duke for their lack of a social pedigree. But within Wayne Manor, Dick, Jason, Cass and Duke razz Bruce, Tim and Damian for having one in the first place.
“This makes no sense,” Tim protested. “Jason went to a private school while he lived here and I’m the one who actually went to a public school after I moved in! How am I the one on the butt end of all this?”
Jason hummed absently. “Those who are born with a silver spoon die with a silver spoon, Tiny Timothy. Sorry, I don’t make the rules.”
“A, that also makes zero sense. B, call me Tiny Timothy one more time and see what happens and C, you’re literally making this up as you go along.”
“Dude, you do know you argue like you’re holding a powerpoint presentation right?” Duke threw in from where he was lounging in an arm chair. Upside down. His head and shoulders on the ground, legs in the seat of the chair. Further proof that Dick should not be left unsupervised around new siblings. “Like, what’s the deal with that?”
Tim’s head swiveled ominously, eyes narrowing as they zeroed in on the younger boy.
“I’ll get to you in a minute,” he growled in a voice reminiscent of Batman, but in theatrics that were born more of further examples of Dick’s terrible influence.
“Hey, what did I do?”
“You picked a side,” Tim said dismissively, turning back to face Jason, who seemed preoccupied with his phone.
Duke attempted a shrug. It didn’t go well. “Well yeah, but their side had Jason.”
“Our side has Damian,” Tim countered, before stopping and looking vaguely unsettled as he realized what he’d just said. Damian’s head snapped up from where he was lying stretched out on the floor, drawing in his sketchbook. His eyes were so fixed and flinty on Tim, they practically sparked as the youngest silently dared him to continue in that vein.
Not actually being anymore capable of backing down from a terrible idea than any of his siblings, Tim continued undeterred. “See? He’s vicious.”
Duke just shrugged again, a little more successfully this time. It still looked weird. “Yeah but Jason has viciousness and body mass.”
“As the self-appointed judge of this tomfoolery, I rule that Duke’s logic is sound and his choice was the right one. The moral high ground here is his,” Stephanie weighed in from where she was sitting cross legged on the floor, painting Dick’s toenails. The eldest was sprawled across the seat of another armchair, legs draped loosely over the armrest. He was sound asleep despite the commotion, having been up three nights straight tracking down a gun smuggling ring.
Steph was four toes in, wielding a garish neon magenta polish like she was Monet and this was her greatest masterpiece. Damian almost lost an eye when he made a token effort to protect his brother’s dignity, but then Dick started snoring and that ship sailed.
Many, many pictures had been taken.
“How does that in any way constitute having a moral high ground?” Tim asked with a sigh.
Steph cocked her head and surveyed her work on the latest toe. “Wait, morality in this house isn’t based on who wins any given argument? That’s weird. I think I’ve been doing it wrong.”
“Anyway,” Tim foraged on heroically. “I don’t get why I’ve been singled out, all things considered.”
“You haven’t been singled out,” Jason said without taking his eyes off his phone for a second. Tim fervently hoped that he was playing Candy Crush and not sexting his boyfriend, as those were the only two things Jason did on his phone with that much focus. “You said it yourself. Your side has Damian.”
“Yes, but I don’t care, and all of you are idiots,” Damian said calmly, having returned to his drawing. Tim stretched an arm out towards him, as if to say “you see what I have to work with?”
“I rest my case. Your premise is flawed, and you can feel free to stop at any time,” Tim said.
“A, can’t stop, won’t stop, B, I’ve never presented a flawed premise in my life, I’m intellectually dazzling, and C, besides, its the principle of the matter.”
“Oh god, its contagious,” Duke muttered. Tim ignored him.
“That’s definitely not what a principle is,” Tim heaved another sigh, exasperated. Jason finally looked up from his phone, screwing up his expression into an over-acted blend of righteous indignation and hurt.
“Are you saying I don’t know what a principle is? What, like I’m too dumb to know what I’m saying? Not educated enough for you?”
Tim narrowed his eyes. “None of those were even in the zip code of anything I said, inferred or implied. What is the matter with you - “
Jason just deepened his false face of hurt, rolled his head back on his neck and bellowed out: “Bruuuuuuce. Tim is making fun of my lower class origin story! Make him stop being classist, it reflects badly on the whole family!”
“Oh for the love of - “ Tim started, but that was as far as he got as Dick snorted mid-snore and surged out of his chair and into frantic awareness, landing catlike in a crouch on the floor and looking wildly around for danger and the source of the disruption.
It only took a couple seconds for him to verify that they were all safe and sound, and simply being noisy jackasses who couldn’t let him nap for even two hours. It only took two seconds more for his eyes to land on his painted toenails, zeroing in for a closer inspection that morphed his usual cheerful countenance into a scowl.
Stephanie was halfway towards the door by that time, choosing speed over subterfuge, so the culprit was easy enough for him to identify.
“You’re dead, Brown,” Dick yelled, smoothly transitioning into a sprint as he gave chase.
“Sadly, the artist’s greatest piece was left still unfinished upon her untimely demise, but her work will forever live on in legend and infamy,” she hollered back over her shoulder.
“Oh I’ll show you infamy, Blonde Wonder!”
“You shouldn’t run while your polish is still drying, basic rules of nail care!”
“Somebody run after them and take pictures. I’m too comfortable,” Duke said half-heartedly from his upside down position.
“Impressive,” Jason noted. “It took the rest of us much longer to adapt to this household’s tendency to treat sitting down like an event at the Contortionists’ Olympics.”
“Guess I’m just precocious.”
“Or just the most susceptible to terrible ideas and other things that are bad for your long-term and overall health,” Tim tacked on archly. Duke just shrugged one more time. This time it elevated his whole body vertically like a kind of upside down push-up.
“I like my take better.”

How to create a PowerPoint for school while struggling with executive dysfunction
Note: this is my method it might not work for everyone
Step one: search the topic in google/whatever search engine you use. Scroll thru the websites that pop up and click on the ones that look promising/are talking about your topic. Don’t fall into the “this looks like it could be helpful but I'm not entirely sure so I won't click” trap. Just click everyone that looks somewhat promising and isn’t sus. It's not yet your job to see which ones you’ll actually be able to use. Right now your just gathering websites that COULD be a source. Then bookmark all of this in a folder for your project in your bookmarks bar. Now step away and take a break/ do whatever you want to do.
Step two: Now you're going to sort. Well, start sorting. Do a quick scan thru the website and see if it actually is usable. For example, maybe you searched for “1950s farming techniques” and one of the websites you clicked on is talking only about the pros of their farming techniques but you're talking about the cons? Then un-bookmark that website and throw it away.
Note: you may feel bad about having to get rid of so many sources that you had previously collected. Don’t. those were just sites that you that might help. Some you were correct on and will help, some you were wrong on. Nothing wrong with that.
Step three: go over to PowerPoint and look thru their themes. Bookmark the once that you think looks cool/relate to what you're talking about.
Step four: go thru the themes you bookmarked and narrow them down to two or three.
Step five: choose between the themes and select the one you will use for your PowerPoint and unpin the other one/s/.
Step six: click that theme then click create PowerPoint. After that look at the requirements for the project. Does it have a minimum number of slides? That put that many slides in your PowerPoint.
Note: some themes will come with some premade template slides showing what you can do. Don’t delete them. Just simply move them to the bottom of the PowerPoint. They might be helpful later on.
Note 2: don’t forget to put in a sources/works cited slide at the end. don’t worry you aren’t filling it in yet.
Step seven: label each slide. That’s it. This lets you map out what you are going to talk about and in what order.
Step eight: scan thru the websites. When you see the website talking about something you have a slide for, then place a link to the website on that slide. if the website doesn't talk about anything you have a slide for then get rid of it.
Step nine: choose a slide to start with. Click the links that slide has and copy and paste the relevant raw info onto that slide. It will be rewritten later.
Note: it might be helpful to do something like writing “raw info” or changing the font color so you’ll remember that it needs to be rewritten.
Note 2: don’t forget to put a link to the website on your sources tab while doing this.
Step ten: look at the raw info and turn it into bullet points. Bullet point the main info and any important facts.
Note: while doing this keep an eye out to see if you have any repeating info. Multiple sites may say the same fact. If this is the case then delete the extra info. Step eleven: did your theme come with premade template slides? If it didn’t then you can skip this step, but if it did then look at them and see if you can use any of them. If you can use any of them then do so. It will make your presentation look neater, prettier, and more professional. Delete the slides you can’t use.
Step twelve: go back onto the web and see if you can find any photos related to your topic. If you can then place them in the slide they will fit the best with.
Step thirteen: this is when you should check the requirements. Some teachers prefer for your slides to just have bullet points/ have so many or less words. Some don’t care. If your teacher doesn’t care and you want your slides to be in sentences/ paragraphs then this is when you convert those bullet points into sentences like the english converted everyplace they touched into catholic/christian/protestant/whatever religion they were at the time of contact. With varying degrees of success. But don’t worry about that. Don’t worry if some of your sentences are a bit choppy right now, there will be a time for you to fix them up later. If your teacher wants your presentation as bullet points, then leave them alone on the PowerPoint and use them to write the first draft of your script.
Step fourteen: this is when you edit everything you’ve written that needs fixing and make it flow/sound better.
Step fifteen: add in all of the bells and whistles.
Note: if your using transitions then make sure you use ones that work well together. For example wipe, split, morph, and fade work pretty well together in my personal opinion.
Step sixteen: check to make sure that you have everything that's required in your PowerPoint. If you don’t then make sure to add it in.
Step seventeen: marvel at how easy it was to do this school project.
Note: this was written assuming you have at least 16 days to do the project and can do one step a day. If you have more than 16 days, then you can break the bigger steps up (like steps 2,9,10, and 13) and spread them across two or more days. If you have less time then do some of the smaller steps (like steps 3,4,5,6,7,12,14,15, and 16) in the same day.
Note 2: What I categorized as big steps and small steps is based on my experiences and were included as examples so people could get an idea of what I was talking about. If they are not big steps/small steps for you then don’t treat them as such.
Note 3: Step 2 can actually be a big step, small, step, or a medium-sized step. How long it takes step two to be completed depends on how many websites you gathered in step one. I just like gathering a lot of websites so I know that even if a lot ends up thrown away, there is guaranteed to be a few that will work.

Microsoft Office 2019 for Mac 16.23 VL [Multilingual]
Office 2019 for Mac is designed from scratch to take advantage of the latest features of Mac, including Retina display support full – screen view and even bounce displacement.
It is the perfect combination of Office that you know and you trust, and the Mac you love. Microsoft Office 2019 is the latest iteration of the industry-standard office suit.
Microsoft Office 2019 includes the latest versions of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Exchange, SharePoint and Skype for Business, each of which is an essential tool in the computerised office workplace of today.
It also boasts a range of enhanced IT options that are designed to make life easier for newcomers to the field. Make no mistake: this is a versatile set of tools and no office should be without it.
What is Office 2019?
Microsoft Office 2019 is a standalone, local (not cloud-based, like Office 365) version of the Microsoft Office software suite. It is a “perpetual” release, which is just a fancy way of saying you buy the software once and own it forever, rather than having to pay an annual subscription fee to access it.
That said, you only get a license to use it on a single PC, whereas a subscription to Office 365 lets you use it on a PC, a tablet, and a smartphone.
This new release updates and replaces the 2016 versions of Word, Excel, etc. and includes many of the new features that have been rolled out to Office 365 users over the past three years. We’ll get to those in a bit.
When is Office 2019 available, and how much will it cost?
Office 2019 is on sale now, but only for commercial-level customers. Availability will be rolling out regular ol’ customers like you and me in the coming weeks. That also means we don’t yet know what the price point is for individual users, but Microsoft will likely have that info soon.
Expect to potentially pay a bit more than what you’d shell out for Office 2016 (currently $150 for the “Home and Student” version), as Microsoft already boosted the price of the commercial version ten percent to account for its “significant value added to the product over time.”
What are the system requirements for Office 2019?
Here’s a big change. On PCs, you’ll need Windows 10 for Office 2019; Microsoft will not support any versions of Windows 7 or 8. As always, Microsoft will make 32 and 64-bit versions of Office 2019 available.

Microsoft Office 2019 Products

The new Design tab provides quick access to features, and Smart Lookup shows relevant contextual information from the web directly inside Word.
Excel

PowerPoint
Create, collaborate, and effectively present your ideas with new slide transitions and an improved Animations task pane. Threaded comments alongside your slides help you incorporate feedback into your presentations.
And Presenter View displays the current slide, next slide, speaker notes, and a timer on your Mac, while projecting only the presentation to your audience on the big screen.
OneNote
It’s your very own digital notebook, so you can keep notes, ideas, web pages, photos, even audio and video all in one place.
Whether you’re at home, in the office, or on the move, you can take it all with you wherever you go while sharing and collaborating with others. It’s great for school assignments, work projects, travel plans, party planning, and more.
Outlook
Like Word, Outlook is also getting a new focus mode, called the “Focused Inbox,” to help streamline workflow and email drafting. Users can now use “@” commands for tagging people in emails, and contact cards have been overhauled.
Also, PC users will now have travel and delivery cards, while Mac users get new email templates; a Send Later function for scheduling delivery times; and read receipts. Both platforms also get Office 365 Group integration.
PowerPoint
The changes for PowerPoint are all about enhanced media and visual element support in presentations.
The notable additions here are support for 3D model display/manipulation and SVG files on slides; new morph transitions; the ability to export your presentation in 4K UHD video format, and you can now write by hand and move elements with your pencil while editing.
Better pencil support and other tweaks
In addition to these program-specific updates, there are also changes that apply to all Office 2019 software.
The most important of these is Microsoft’s beefed-up support for digital pencils, like expanded “roaming pencil case” support, which lets users write by hand and move parts of documents with their pencil, as well as new support for pressure sensitivity and tilt recognition.
Office 2019 also comes with some behind-the-scenes changes such as monthly security updates and a reduction to network bandwidth use.
Will Office 2019 replace Office 365?
No. In a post announcing the software release, Microsoft makes sure to point out that Office 2019 is a standalone package of its software geared primarily towards private users and businesses who do not have the necessary internet access required to use the cloud-based Office 365.
Because of this, many of the features present in the Office 365 versions of these apps are not included in their Office 2019 counterparts, especially cloud-based and collaborative features.
Furthermore, Microsoft makes it clear that while Office 2019 will be receiving regular security fixes, it will not be getting expanded feature updates, while Office 365 users can still look forward to new and updated features through regular monthly updates just as they always have.
The bottom line here is that Office 2019 is not going to replace Office 365, and it really isn’t meant to. That said, regardless of the particular use case, Office 2019 still fills a crucial role and services a section of Microsoft’s customer base that may have felt a bit neglected since Office 365 took the spotlight.

Make Powerpoint Presentations Less Boring With These Three Simple Tips
Make Powerpoint Presentations Less Boring With These Three Simple Tips Learn to navigate your presentation in a non-linear fashion. PowerPoint permits the presenter to leap ahead or again without having to web page via all of the interim slides. Presenters who continually “flip” to the following slide are likely to lose their audience. In practice, it appears a lot like using an animation program like Adobe Flash or After Effects, with slides serving as key frames and animation filling the area between those two frames. But Maloney mentioned that customers do not have to be animation experts in order for Morph to work nicely for them. When watching a slideshow, individuals are inclined to follow the actions of the folks in the pictures on the display screen. The most necessary components in your pictures are the people’s arms, legs, and eyes. Avoid flashy pictures and noisy animation effects unless it relates on to the slide. Check all photographs on a projection screen earlier than the actual presentation. If, after making a copy, you can open the presentation on the copy disk, you then had a difficulty with the original, not the presentation itself. Next, you need to examine the disk from Windows and fix all damaged sectors. Access, create, and edit your displays wherever you go — out of your telephone, tablet, or laptop — even when there’s no connection. Choose from all kinds of pitches, portfolios and different pre-made presentations — all designed to make your work that significantly better, and your life that a lot simpler. Google Slides makes your ideas shine with quite a lot of presentation themes, lots of of fonts, embedded video, animations, and extra. Whether the images are line drawings, silhouettes, or images, if the individuals are wanting at the bullet factors on your slide, then the folks within the audience will look there, too. He is the principal of Peak Communication Performance, a Houston-based mostly firm working worldwide to help professionals develop abilities in strategic communication. Practice with someone who has by no means seen your presentation. Ask them for honest suggestions about colours, content, and any results or graphical photographs you’ve included. Another new feature, Morph, makes slick transition animations straightforward to tug off. It takes two totally different slides and transitions between them by fading and moving completely different slide parts around. If there is a chart that takes up the full measurement of one slide that's then half the size within the next one, Morph will shrink it to transition between the two. Why Taking Risks in the Classroom Pays off for Students—and Teachers
My sixth graders entered the room, found their seats and in typical fashion, I asked them to take out their homework—but it wasn’t a typical day. It was my first experiment flipping our classroom. As the groans from my students got louder, I knew something wasn’t right. I panicked.
"Don't let your fear of what could happen make nothing happen."
Doe Zantamata
Hands immediately went up and my students began to get defensive. Some said the video was never posted, others told me the link didn’t work but I had checked that link multiple times. The period couldn’t end fast enough. I was tense and ready to throw in the towel.
For the past 13 years, I have been a social studies teacher at the middle school level. I’ve taught in a few districts with unique missions and priorities, but one thing that has remained constant is the fact that to make sure that learning remains engaging and relevant for the modern learner, risk-taking in the classroom is a necessity.
To build a classroom culture where risk-taking is encouraged for students, a teacher also needs to be willing to try new things. By taking risks, and in some cases even failing in front of our students, we demonstrate that not everything works as planned and prove that we can rebound from any situation.
Many of my students don’t have this mindset. Many believe they need to succeed immediately and that any failure they encounter will be devastating. This viewpoint can be debilitating for a learner.
I’ve always enjoyed bringing new techniques, methodologies and tools into the classroom, but by nature I am risk-averse, so my excitement is typically followed by a slew of big fears. Sometimes these fears get the best of me, but I’m working on finding a balance between my love and fear of taking risks in the classroom.
My First Big Risk: Flipping the Script
When I became a teacher, I promised myself that I wouldn’t teach from the textbook and bore my students with presentations. Unfortunately, for the first five years of my career, that’s exactly what I did.
My classroom was set up with desks in rows and my lessons included lectures with PowerPoint presentations, worksheets and textbook work. In the summer of 2010, I recognized that my teaching needed to change in a big way. My lessons were stale, my students were disengaged and I was bored.
With a newfound passion for my career, I was ready to try something new. After months of research, I decided to bring flipped learning into my classroom. While this was a relatively young idea for the field, it felt like the solution to many of my problems. I spent the next five years learning everything I could about flipped learning, piloting new edtech tools and unlearning many of the traditional teaching practices I was taught as I pursued my teaching degree.
The more I learned about flipping my classroom, the more fears that developed. How would I survive without the comfort of my PowerPoint presentations? How would classroom management change if I relinquished control over to my students?
As I experimented with this approach, I found my bearings. Though there were moments I wished I had my slides, my students and I always worked together to figure out where to go next. While there were a few occasions when chaos broke out in the beginning as students navigated the transition, they only lasted minutes and we could always pull it together shortly after.
It took time to tweak the model to get the right balance of freedom and structure, but as we iterated, I found that stepping away from the traditional lecture model and into flipped learning helped me raise student engagement and that was powerful.
Flipped learning was my first foray into risk-taking, but as the world of teaching and learning continues to grow and change, and I’m committed to consistently morphing my practices in response.
The thing about risk-taking is that it doesn’t get easier with practice. After all of my years in the classroom, I know what to expect when I come in each morning, but each year brings a new group of learners and sometimes a different grade level or classroom. These changes, and the pressure I put on myself to consistently be reshaping my practices to give my students what they need is anxiety-provoking. But I can’t sit back and repeat the same stale lessons year after year because it’s tradition. My students deserve more.
Even though I haven’t found some magic remedy to make my fears slip away, I have taken some actions to build up my confidence so I can continue to push the envelope in my classroom.
Name Your Fears and Gain Perspective
Low engagement, losing control of the class, students not buying into my lesson hooks, reactions from stakeholders and decreased test scores are just a few of the fears that have plagued me over the years. Saying them out loud has helped me and putting them down on paper feels even better.
Talking about them can help too. I’ve had conversations with colleagues and friends to better define my fears, flesh them out and even consider worst-case scenarios. But the most powerful step I’ve taken is to consider best-case scenarios.
Instead of asking myself “what will happen if it doesn’t work?” I’ve started to reframe the question to “what can happen if it does work?” In most cases, the hope of what can happen is much more enticing than the fear of what might not.
Add “Considerations” to Your Lesson Plans
A very tactical action I took to overcome my fears is carving out time to consider what challenges could arise when trying new things, and coming up with a plan for how to resolve them so I’m not handling everything on the fly. Sometimes I even add them to my lesson plans. By making small notes and finding a few backup activities just in case things start to unravel, I’m more prepared and confident.
Take conflict resolution for example. In my classroom, we do a lot of partner and group work, so I often need to plan ahead for possible challenges during periods of collaboration. As a middle school teacher, my students need to learn conflict resolution tactics, so my solutions usually entail letting the students problem-solve together.
Each time I plan a lesson that has group work, I make a mental (or written) note reminding myself to breathe, step back and not rush to fix every situation. When frustrating or unplanned for situations occur, my students are watching me and waiting for a reaction and the best thing I can do is to stand back, hold my ground and give them space and time to solve their problems so they can become better at communicating with each other.
Celebrate Victories Big and Small
The hardest thing about commiting to innovation is that there isn’t really an end to it.
Most recently, I have become fascinated with increasing student choice in my classroom to empower students to choose what they want to learn and how they want to learn it. I’m already convinced that choice is a good thing, so, what am I fearful of? I’m anxious about the increased workload of creating additional choices, nervous that my students might make choices that don’t push them to grow and worried that lessons will take longer.
Although I have the passion and drive to continuously innovate, my fears always come back, so I need to constantly reflect on victories big and small that occur in my classroom each day and remember that many of them stem from taking a chance and not knowing what the outcome would be.
AJ Bianco is a middle school social studies teacher at Harrington Park School District in Harrington Park, New Jersey.

5 Reasons PowerPoint Is Better Than You Think
To most users PowerPoint is a great tool for banging out a quick presentation when a superior requires information or when a teacher assigns a country to present on. And because of the breadth AND depth of PowerPoint, it is perfectly suited for those tasks. But what casual users don’t know is that PowerPoint can easily handle the other end of the spectrum. For example, designers and developers can create awesome games, do photo editing, design advanced object creation and animation, and so much more! Here are 5 reasons why PowerPoint is so much more than a simple presentation tool.
Presenter’s Paradise:
As PowerPoint was built for those who would be giving presentations, it is naturally filled with amazing features and tools that allow you to become the best presenter you can be while giving kick-awesome presentations. For example, while giving a presentation you can enable the Presenter View which allows you, as the presenter, to know what the next slide is and prepare yourself mentally and physically. Not only that but you have various presentation tools such as the pen tool and laser tools which allow you to bring attention to important information on screen.
Another feature that is crucial to creating and giving stellar presentations is the Slide Show tab (it is located on the main ribbon). Here is where you will control all major assets that pertain to the actual execution of your presentation. For example, you will be able to rehearse your timings and even sync your presentation up with how long it takes for you to cover the information on screen.
Designer Friendly:
Presenters use PowerPoint to present. That is normal and expected. But what is less known about PowerPoint is that there are a lot of designers and developers creating assets and awesome slide decks that presenters can showcase to their audience. And Microsoft has catered to these situations and PowerPoint designers very effectively with assets that can be completely customized and morphed into any shape for any purpose. Even default PowerPoint themes can be edited and changed to meet your needs. Or you can just start from scratch and develop amazing decks using the Slide Master Views.
And for those who aren’t designers, or not familiar with the PowerPoint layout, you have access to the Design Ideas Tab. This feature takes the content you have on your slide and gives you different layouts and designs you can choose from. This feature is extremely effective at conquering Designer’s Block and jump starting a new project.
PowerPoint also allows you to animate EVERY asset on every single slide (this isn’t suggested). Yes, more advanced animations look better on different objects and sometimes no animation says more than a handful of animations. The beauty of PowerPoint lies in the knowledge that you can do virtually anything with animated objects.
Versatile:
The majority of PowerPoint users use PowerPoint as a presentation tool because that is what it was meant for! And also because their first interaction with PowerPoint was in middle school when their teacher gave them a presentation assignment. But it can be so much more than that! Thanks to Microsoft and the amazing features that they have included in PowerPoint, you can use it to craft, flowcharts, graphs, and you can even storyboard, create animated newsletters, and develop awesome eLearning courses. The possibilities are endless and are only bound by your creativity.
Hidden Power:
youtube
PowerPoint does a lot of amazing things by default and can allow for simple interactions and branching scenarios. But with Macros (a simple coding platform), you can program triggers to fire when certain actions/animations/transitions have finished. This permits you to create complex interactions and even games right in PowerPoint. Of course this does require a knowledge in coding and may not be applicable to all PowerPoint users.
If you aren’t a coding expert don’t worry. Just recently (4-5 months ago) PowerPoint released a new navigation option called Zoom. This has really changed the game and PowerPoint has put itself in direct competition with Prezi and other indie presentation softwares (not that they weren’t already competitors). This tool is one of the coolest updates to PowerPoint that I have seen in the last couple of years and is a great example of how far PowerPoint has come and the possibilities it provides.
Add-Ins:
If PowerPoint doesn’t allow it, check the Add-Ins. Seriously. There are some amazing third-party Add-Ins that I always have installed and use frequently. So figure out what is missing or what you would like to be able to do and find it! To give you an idea of how powerful Add-Ins are and can be, realize that Articulate pretty much started out with an Add-In for PowerPoint called Presenter. Now, after a few years of expanding and growing they have turned that simple Add-In into a fully fledged eLearning Software. So just because it isn’t produced by Microsoft or even come stock with PowerPoint doesn’t mean it isn’t good; it could be great.
The world will forever say and ask, “Could you give a PowerPoint on…..Could you make a PowerPoint presentation….”. And that is for a reason! PowerPoint started simple yet essential.
