Haii :3! Can I plz have a fraymotif 4 a maid of heart, mage of time, and a knight of spacee >3<?
Sure thing :33! I've touched on the idea that when two heroes that share a Class combo together, their Aspects resonate into an extra powerful manifestation than if they had different Classes but the same Aspects. It's kind of the opposite with Aspects, where it's when two heroes have opposite Aspects (in this case Time and Space) that their Classes resonate into a more powerful manifestation than if they were with another Aspect but the same Class-pairing (This is also present in Escuela Bolero of True Epidemic Hysteria with the Rage and Hope players there, I just hadn't explained the concept like I am here bcuz i forgor :skull:). Something too can be said for Inversions, but I'll save that for when I get to a Fraymotif where that applies. Now, here you go!
Subspace Elegy
Mage of Time [one who understands and understands through time, change, and activity] + Maid of Heart [one who serves and serves through emotion, essence, and the self] + Knight of Space [one who protects and protects through space, creation, and passivity]
Subspace (referring to a particular subset of a parent space; like a pocket dimension) + Elegy (a poem or song of serious reflection, typically a lament for the dead, but not always)
Together, the Mage and the Knight create a small area that is bigger on the inside and follows different properties in terms of physical space and the passage of time. The Knight begins the attack by using a force push to knock the Target into the pocket dimension, then keeps the Target from escaping by centering them no matter how or where they try to run. The Maid and Mage work together to conjure different scenes and summon different characters from the Target's memories to occupy the affected area. The Knight shifts the locations around, throwing the Target from scene to scene, while the Mage constantly keeps the Target off-balance by looping particularly violent memories especially any that have to deal with aging and its consequences. The Maid has a more nefarious grasp on the specific memories tho, ensuring that they are all deep cuts and maintaining the memory playlist to be at peak emotional intensity the whole time.
The Fraymotif ends when the Knight notices any cracks or weaknesses in the integrity of the bubble, and collapses it suddenly, ejecting the Target with a similar force that pushed them into it at the start. All of which takes place within the span of a few seconds in the outside but who knows for how long the Target had to confront themselves
Not a super complicated one, but I love the narrative flavor that the Maid of Heart adds to the classic SpaceTime combo, feel free to drop more requests if you wanna (the more I do requests the more I get to procrastinate making big drops for the queue) (^<^)b

GoS: The Escape
The temple-ship limped along into deeper space. Parts of the hull had been sealed off to prevent too much damage from the various breaches. Many lives had been lost in the stasis chambers that were exposed to the ruinous vacuum of the infinite depths. The few remaining ships in the fleet kept close by, each having gaping wounds of their own. The escape from the World That Was had been traumatic. Starseer Tik'ol'tec recalled it painfully as he slumped back into the thrown in the command chamber. The cataclysm wrought by the powers of Chaos that sundered the very continent of Lustria had consumed the world. It was only the wisdom of the Old Ones and the Slann who had saved them. Those who had managed to make it into the Temple Cities were carried away from the fiery extinction all around them. Plenty, unfortunately did not make it. As the cities were lifted, the magics of the great mage priests shifted and changed the stonework. The burning sky was locked away behind a shell of stone. All those who were not magically inclined were shut in stasis to preserve the resources as the mighty temple-fleets sought a new home. But they were far from safe. As the world was consumed, vast bursts of Chaotic energy were sent in all directions. One wave caught the Temple fleet of Tik'ol'tec and sent it reeling. Some ships were completely destroyed in the instance, many other were sent tumbling into a void that was not of the mortal realms. Daemons and creatures of Chaos manifested in the plazas and corridors and has to be fought off. Some of the warriors were awoken from their stasis slumber to hold the line and push back the incursion. The fighting went on for what seemed like an eternity but eventually the daemons were pushed back and eliminated. Their forced waning just as the ships began to emerge into something that resembled mortal spacetime. The respite had been small however and almost as soon as they had emerged they were once again set upon by the forces of Chaos. This time they had their own ships that house terrible weapons. But it wasn't just the ships that possessed weapons unseen before- boarding parties of strange knights bore large projectile weapons that could tear through Saurus and Kroxigor flesh with devastating ease. Only protection wards summoned by Skink priests were able to cover the warriors enough for them to close in on the enemy. These fights had been even more bitter than the last but eventually the temple fleet lost its pursuers and the remaining crew could take stock. By all counts, they were reduced in number by three quarters. What was worse was the loss of contact with the Slann. Try as they might, no Starseer or star priest could detect no sign of them. They would be on their own. The fleet still continued on the pre-directed path the Slann had ordered though. Where they were headed, no one could say. The stars outside were too different to determine anything any more. After almost a year of travel, the ship began to slow. It was something everyone could notice. Tik'ol'tec rushed to the command chamber to see what was happening. The vast windows showed a tiny spec in the distance. A scan performed by a lesser priest showed that it was a world they were heading towards. A new system. What form this world was, none could say. They would all be in the hands of the technology of the Great Old Ones and the guidance of the Mage-Priest who was no longer with them. One by one, members of the Stat Council found themselves in the Command Chamber, staring out of the windows at their approaching destination. What they could see from the windows and what was being reported in was almost unbelievable. Gargantuan ruins as far as the horizon. This place had clearly once been inhabited, but was no longer. It reminded Tik'ol'tec of the abandoned temple cities of Lustria, having been overwhelmed by the ratmen or the forces of corruption. But they were on a tiny scale compared with the vast oceans of development that lay before them.

Tik'ol'tec felt a small pang of fear as the temple ship shuddered as a series of thuds shook the place. Realmshaper engines had disengaged themselves from beneath the ship. They were heading to the planet below to prepare the way ahead of them. From the huge observing window, the other ships could be seen, moving to different areas. Collections of Realmshaper engines were calving away from them too. From all the readings from the planet, it was clearly a dead world. Its atmosphere was a choking mix of hydrocarbons, sulphur and heavy metals. How the Realshapers could create something habitable amongst that was unclear but not a shred of doubt crossed his mind about the technology of the Old Ones. The thrill of discovery did stir inside him however. All had been panic and fear for as long as it had been since the ruination of the World That Was. How long ago had that been? It was hard to say. Without the natural cycles of sun and moon he had become chronologically lost. And he was by far not the only one. A weariness had set in amongst all on board. All who were awake and attending to duties that is. He envied the vast population who still remained in stasis. For them, hardly any time would have passed. Though they also would not have had the time to come to terms with the loss of everything. Still, there would be so much work to do later, to build a new home for themselves, to search for their lost Slann and to begin preparing to fight the forces of Chaos.
Approximately thirty days had passed between the temple ship's landing and the unsealing of the doors. The progress of the Realmshapers had been closely monitored. The atmosphere had changed dramatically and those first breaths of air from outside felt good. Along with the touch of natural ground. The sizzle of insects and the chirping of songbirds high in the branches were a welcome sound. Scouting parties had been sent out to find resources and the first construction teams were preparing the ground of the first buildings. Saurus has been sent in small squads to secure the area. Tikol'tec himself had started exploring the nearby ruins himself. He had several other lesser skink priests with him, noting down discoveries they had made. Huge towers of brick and metal reached to the skies. Vast buildings were packed with unknowable machines, rendered silent by exposure to the elements from collapsed roofs. From the appearance though, it appeared to be an expanse of workshops on a scale beyond anything they had known in Lustria.
In two weeks the first weapon caches were discovered. A few scribes noted that they shared similarities with weapons used by some humans. They would be useful if the inhabitants of this realm were making use of powerful ranged weapons. Six months later, a team of particularly enterprising skinks had worked out the operation of some of the vehicles they had found. A whole year had passed by almost in an instant for Tik'ol'tec with all the work he was throwing himself into. Observatories were being constructed to divine the new stars, the first cohort of citizens in stasis were being revived. The Realmshapers had been in near constant demand for attention as they worked overtime pushing up roots through many metres of industrial waste and development. Contact between different settlements had to be established with causeways cleared through the rubble and jungle. The first regiments, trained with the new weapons had been formed. Finally, news had reached him that the first of the machines of this world had been started. It produced small, odd shaped metal components from sheets. The next set of machines that ingested these were still under examination, but it was a sign of some progress towards something greater. If the Old Ones had brought them to this world, they must have known that they would posses the means of deciphering how to use it. For Tik'ol'tec, they were absolutely correct.

seer of time, mage of space, and page of rage? :D thanks so much!
Seer/Time + Mage/Space + Page/Rage Paradox-Spatial Passion Petanova "By Channeling Passion through space & time, This fraymotif lays the foundations to creating a grid of beacons for the experts in space & time to use."
The Page Supercharges both the Seer & the Mage with unfathomable amounts of passion/rage. The Mage & The Seer then procced to channel that Passion through two different methods: The Seer proceed to channel their mind to all their timeline versions, bringing passion with it. The Mage proceed to using their knowledge of the fabric of space to create wormholes through paradox space and channel their passion to other version of himself. Then using all their powered up versions like a coordinate in the grid of spacetime, combined with massive amount of passion needed for understanding, The two gain CONSTANT knowledge about their when and whereabouts across all paradox space, while their timeline versions of themselves becomes more passionate and powerful as a result.

HC/AU: Satan’s Biggest Failure and Schezo’s Corruption
A Headcanon I’ve had for a while, is that for the most part Satan had a hand in or was the one that sealed the Runelord away. In my head this made sense, Satan for all intents and purposes is a God, and if Shin Madou is in anyway canon the Runelord was a threat to multiple universes (Gaia and Madou), so of course Satan had to put a stop to him or something. That’s what it all was for a while until I realized something.
That plan couldn’t’ve failed anymore than it did.
Not only is he no longer imprisoned, he had mentally broken and manipulated a child (Adult at this point), killed multiple mages, stolen undocumented amounts of magic, and managed to get himself into a comfortable place with not only his Jailor, but the descendants of the Betrayer and Goddess of Spacetime(another Headcanon), honestly the only thing that changed for him was a new body that did things on it’s own sometimes.
Which brings me to the topic at hand. Imagine, what would happen if the Runelord had re-emerged from Schezo’s mind (I assumed after finally breaking down, because for someone who was possessed by an ancient all powerful evil mage he’s taking it rather well) and started going on a rampage, how much of that would sting for Satan, A God who had a hand in sealing him away.
(Terrible!Artist rendition of them meeting up)
This soon spiralled in my mind into a more tragic route. Imagine, if you will being Satan, you are now face to face with someone you had to seal away for the betterment of the universe, in the body of someone who you assumed was just power hungry in the literal sense, later realizing the man had almost no control of his actions. Someone who had to be mentally broken down more and more until the Runelord had enough leverage to take full control. And what were you doing between these events.
Making fun of him.
Not just making fun of him, actively encouraging others to do the same, to the point where his own nickname is more well known than his actual name. Sure, for the average man that could just be insulting, but for someone who was being mentally broken down day by day, how much of that would’ve sped up the process. How long has he been helping the man he meant to keep sealed away.
In the end, this could only lead to a loss either way, even when Satan ends up killing the Runelord for good (I mean he’s god and in this headcanon already failed once, he’s definitely killing him for good now) all that’s left is what remains of Schezo. either it could and up like my last HC post where I stated that when Schezo dies his soul ends up in the void and is unresurrectible. Or, more probable he finally gained full control of his body again, and all that’s left is a mentally 14 year old man, riddled with guilt of crimes he very much done, and was mentally tortured for years. Either way, he’s killing what is essentially an innocent man too.
And remember this is Satan, the Dark Prince, someone so hung up on the death of his wife he follows around her own reincarnation and rabbit creature she gave him, because he misses her. If he’s that hung up for something he had no control over, imagine how he’d feel for something he did have control over, something he was actively involved in, something he was suppose to prevent and failed at, ruining the lives of countless people, especially someone who would’ve never done the things he did to begin with if not for his failure.
IT WOULD EAT HIM ALIVE.
good thing this is just a headcanon
#puyo puyo#satan puyo puyo#dark prince puyo puyo#Schezo Wegey#schezo puyo puyo#runelord madou monogatari#call me Kenji Oda cuz wtf did I just write#I gotta stop watching kirby lore videos while playing puyo puyo

also i am still trying to work out how - i mean astandalas (city) was on ysthar, right, & ysthar is canonically Where Shakespeare Is (where a Shakespeare is), so it is sort of possible that Shaian includes English words (cognate or calqued or loaned; see: some other dude named rufus), so the name "fitzroy" with its meaning "bastard son of the king" is - its plausibility depends on the timeline, if fitzroy's knowledge also depends on the timeline (big caveat). i thought the Fall was (what Earth would consider) prehistoric, but time is fucky throughout astandalas & we're talking about a very powerful mage whose skills go off-plane, so like - did fitzroy name himself that because the meaning echoed back to where he was in spacetime? i can't imagine him choosing a name without having considered its meaning in all possible directions, & it's such a specific departure from his original/legal name that i also can't imagine him just going "those sounds sound good together, let's roll"
this is different from most of the other ways these books drive me to distraction

Okay, here are my questions about your world?
Do cat people exist in your world? Are they more “human with cat traits” or more “cat with human traits”? And if you use a magnifying glass or mirror and some sunlight to make a medieval version of a laser pointer will they chase it?
Is there a way for non-mages to counter or defend against magic?
Are firearms the only ranged weapons people use? Are there still people who use weapons like bows, crossbows, slings, etc? Are these localised to particular individuals or do some nations still make use of them in their army in some capacity?
Do werebeasts exist in your world? How does stuff like lycanthropy work?
Are there any fantastical metals? Like adamantium or mithryl?
How common are pre-rip ruins? Do they exist at all?
How advanced are they when it comes to firearms in this setting? Do they only have simple muzzle loading muskets or have they started to use more complicated techniques like breech loading or cartridges?
Have people managed to travel across the ocean to different continents yet? Or is there a need to cross the ocean to get to different continents? Like is the world one massive Pangea like landmass?
I may come up with more at some point.
I have not given much thought to races yet, not outside of those I have mentioned before such as goblins, humans, dwarves and elves. So I don't know if there are cat people.
whilst most elves have some connection to magic, it's actually not as powerful as you'd think. Like Pyra for example can only really do fairly basic fireballs and ignite things with her hands. She also exclusively knows fire spells. Magic also tends to be very elemental, so fire, ice, water and etcetera, so no super powerful spells or protection that would require specific counters.
Firearms as we know them today do not really exist. The people of this world got stuck on flintlock and similar weapons that they've then improved fixing some of the fire rate problems. That being said bows and crossbows are still in use even though they're not as common as fire arms as they don't do as much damage.
I once again have not given much thought to the existence of lycanthropy as I've mostly been focusing on the more personal level of the world with a few set characters(only one of which have any significant development). That being said, lycanthropy would probably exist and be connected to the merging of dimensions. This means that transformations would occur when some people are different species between dimensions and said dimensions battle over dominance in real space.
I would think there are mostly just metals like in the real world. But I also think there are some materials with abilities you don't see in the real world. Like crystals actually having special powers sometimes. Other times they're just fancy rocks tho.
depending on where you are, pre-rip ruins are quite common. They might not look like ruins tho as they have been warped by spacetime leaving them often look almost organic in shape. Of course inside the nordic tear itself, there are countless ruins sometimes even having still functional tech from before the rip. Be careful with that tho as there might be mosters lurking in the shadows.
I explained this one earlier, so mostly breachloading weapons with very primitive cartridges made of paper or similar materials.
There aren't really any big oceans in the world, only big lakes. However, these lakes open up wider as you go deeper into them often revealing huge ruined cities underneath some of which are still inhabited by merpeople.

In my setting there's a concept called "prodigy" -- a prodigy is exceptioanlly intuitive about a single very specific type of magic, and is able to do things they can't easily teach or share the mechanics of with others. Most Prodigies are the equivalent of a D&D sorcerer, at least within their specialty. They just _know_ how to do this certain thing, for example - ... how to cast mind-altering charms that affect things usually seen as immune (elves) or lacking a mind (trees, rocks, natural laws) - ... open portals across insane gulfs of spacetime (caster-powered portals are usually limited to a few hundred clicks without any sort of anchorpoints, and are still _quite_ expensive) - ... manipulate technology in ways that scholarships feels should be impossible (technomancy, literally enhancing non-magical electronics "shouldn't word") - ... combine forms of magic that **should** be incompatible (like combining positive and negative energy into a single spell, or elemental fire and water) A Prodigy can figure out in days how to do things a master of their field would study for years to achieve. On the other hand, Prodigies often struggle with the simplest magical effects from other magical disciplines (a technomage, for example, may struggle with seeing magical auras, while a portal-slinger may struggle with the simplest conjuring or manipulation spells) until they can figure out how to do them through their specialty. And Prodigies _can_ be trained as magi or wizards, they can make pacts like any warlock, and they might have sorcerous influence over magic -- a Mage or Wizard who finds a Prodigy and doesn't try to train them (and study them) is a rare sight: Even those who have sworn off ever teaching any apprentice will often try to exploit the powers of a Prodigy.
i love pitting classically trained magic users against self-taught magic users in sci-fi/fantasy but it shouldn’t be snobbish disdain for them it should be terror

In a realm where the past fused with the future in a tapestry of time, there existed an order of cosmic librarians known as the Guardians of the Illuminated Manuscript. Their most revered member was Lysandra, the Keeper of the Eternal Codex. She was as enigmatic as she was beautiful, her face partially concealed by a mask etched with circuits of knowledge, eyes that glimmered like emeralds of pure thought, and lips that whispered the ancient codes of creation. Her suit was a living manuscript, adorned with luminescent green ink that flowed like liquid across the metallic scrollwork, symbols that pulsed with the lifeblood of the universe itself.
The Illuminated Manuscript was no ordinary book. It was a collection of all wisdom in the galaxy, inscribed on sheets of light and bound in the fabric of spacetime. Within its pages lay the secrets to the past and the keys to the future. It was told that whoever deciphered its contents could wield the power to reshape reality itself.
As the custodian, Lysandra existed in synchrony with the Manuscript, her consciousness intertwined with its glowing pages. She dwelled in the Library Nebula, a vast collection of stars arranged like shelves holding the chronicles of civilizations. It was a place outside of ordinary existence, where time swirled in eddies around the floating isles of collected wisdom.
However, tranquility was disrupted when a renegade faction known as the Shadow Conclave discovered the location of the Library Nebula. Coveting the power of the Illuminated Manuscript, they launched an assault. The library's defenses were formidable, walls of encrypted energy only penetrable by solving riddles of cosmic complexity. But the Shadow Conclave was relentless, and their cipher-mages were amongst the most skilled in the cosmos.
The battle was fierce, illuminations clashing with dark sorcery, until the Conclave managed to breach the inner sanctum. It was then that Lysandra made a stand, the Manuscript’s pages whirling around her, forming an armor of blinding knowledge.
The final confrontation was not of brute force but of intellect and will. Lysandra chanted incantations of ancient code, her voice a chorus of a thousand alien tongues. The shadows recoiled, but they did not relent, countering with their own dark symphony. The library trembled, stars flickering like candles in a cosmic draft.
It was then, in desperation, that Lysandra did the unthinkable. She merged her very essence with the Illuminated Manuscript, becoming the living embodiment of its power. Light burst forth, her words scribing themselves across the very fabric of reality. The Manuscript's secrets unveiled themselves, a symphony of creation and destruction that washed over the Conclave, rewriting their essence into benign constellations.
Peace returned to the Library Nebula, but at a great cost. Lysandra was no more, or perhaps she was now everything. Her consciousness became a beacon within the Manuscript, guiding those who seek wisdom and warding off those with malice in their hearts.
And so, the legend of Lysandra, the human codex, lived on. She became a myth, a story whispered across the cosmos—an eternal guardian inscribed within the Illuminated Manuscript, forever illuminating the path for seekers of truth in the vast unknown of the universe.

I've described Manna as a nontheistic faith, worshipping the Aura which most believe to be nonsentient, but that's not entirely true. Most of its component faiths have semi-divine figures heralded as the first magi, chosen by the Aura to spread the gift of magic across the world. People like Odin, King Solomon of Samaria, the first pharaoh Narmer, Bluetongue Lizard, the Raven, and Hecate are widely considered to be the progenitors of magic. Even so, few would claim them to be more important than the Aura that empowered them.
Though more traditional faiths did exist, worshipping gods and spirits, it steadily became a common idea that the Aura was above the gods in station and power, with even the mightiest of primordial creator gods paling in comparison to it; the likes of Gaia and Yahweh merely shaped the magicka that already existed into matter and energy.
There are just many ideas of the afterlife as there are ideas of the first mage. Some claim there's a distinct world where the dead go to, with the details varying; some believe in reincarnation, or that every living thing on Earth is actually one soul reborn countlessly across spacetime; and a few prefer the idea of ascension directly into the Aura. Surprisingly, the existence of the undead does little to sway these beliefs in any direction, as none can offer any insight into what awaits after death, the memories simply not existing.

SPECULATIVE SCRIPT - THE ELEVEN HEAD WIZARDS OF THE HOLY ESTATE ARE HAVING AN EMERGENCY MEETING
FADE IN
INT - THE INNER SANCTUM OF THE HALL OF WIZARDS, PLANET XNROE - NIGHT
CYBER MASTER TERVLEN: So there you have it, my brothers! From this virtual topography feed of The Promised Land, we can see that all five rivers coming down from the central plateau have stopped flowing, which means The Sacred Spring Of Ambi-Valia had...very much...dried up!
FIRST WIZARD KEVGA: Good God! After Mr Uchida failed to infiltrate the False Deity's Tower we knew it would be a matter of time before he makes his move but...but this? This is worse than the worst, everyone!
TIME KEEPER STUMIKTAZ: (Sigh) Thankfully we've managed to erect temporal barriers around the planet just in time, meaning that we'd be spared the brunt of the spacetime decay but...the same cannot be said for the rest of the universe!
HEAD NATURE WIZARD HAROUN: Well I think it might buy the universe some time if we'd perform the "Dance Of Life" Ritual right away but...!
CHIEF EARTH MAGE KHAIROS: Don't you worry about me Brother Haroun, I think I'm strong enough to do my part in...! (Sigh)
OCEAN MASTER BEVIGA: But what about our Klariel friends, everyone? Don't you all forget that it was Saif Shalkanath who really created them; he might try to use them against us at a moment's notice!
HEAD NECROMANCER MARHOS: And with his firm control over every aspect of the Underworld, what only knows if he would also decides to use the untapped potentials of the Nether Realm to undermine us...!
HEAD WHITE WIZARD THEIN: Alas, even after I've successfully gathered all the eight manuscripts of The Music of The Spheres, it will take the combined magickal efforts of all the remaining Light Workers to perform it, meaning that some of us may not survive this ordeal!
TWILIGHT ORDER REPRESENTATIVE ANG-NATH: That does it, everyone! This is not something that we The Hall Of Wizards could handle by ourselves; we need to join forces with The Council Of The Great Guardians if we ever hoped to...!
SKY BEARER LUWING-XI: And I second that! I'm through watching all our friends die needlessly like the last time! (The failed Kltua-Lymonzs invasion) It's high time that both the "Sword" and "Shield" of XNROE are to act as one!
STEEL MAGE JARGEIL: But, but with Great Shairo gone rogue and Humoga's having his hands full keeping it all together, how can we expect The Great Guardians to help us?
CYBER MASTER TERVLEN: It's better than confronting him by ourselves with only a third of our forces available, Brother Jargeil...!
CHIEF EARTH MAGE KHAIROS: I wholeheartedly agree with you, Brother Ang-Nath!
HEAD NECROMANCER MARHOS: So am I Brother Ang-Nath...!
HEAD WHITE WIZARD THEIN: (Sigh) Though I still have my doubts, I say let us hear what are they going to say about it...motion seconded!
TIME KEEPER STUMIKTAZ: I'm with you too, Brother Ang-Nath!
HEAD NATURE WIZARD HAROUN: Yes, though we never really get to know how powerful this False Deity could be, I firmly believe that we will need all the advantages we can lay our hands on, Brother Ang-Nath!
OCEAN MASTER BEVIGA: So our brethren had decided, Brother Kevga! What's our next course of action, First Wizard?
FIRST WIZARD KEVGA: (Sigh) I'll go talk to my son after this...! This meeting is adjourned.
FADE OUT
THE END

On Interpretations, Many
I think I'd like to take a moment to discuss something that really appeals to a lot of us about the Classpect system that I don't believe I've touched on in a post of its own. The system itself is extremely flexible in allowing Homestuck's characters and fans alike to interpret their unique Classpects in just about any way they can think of. One of the overarching themes of Homestuck's narrative is that reality is not just constructed from physical spacetime, but also from the wills of those who inhabit it, from the players themselves to forces like Skaia and the Horrorterrors. Even the Aspects themselves seem to impart their wills, most notably in the case of Passive Classes, and most obviously in the case of their respective Heirs.
Terezi said it best, in fact: “You understand reality while everyone else is running around confused and angry and upset because they think reality is something happening to them rather than something they are making every moment with every thought.” Of course, how much someone can affect reality will depend on many factors. Possessing the power of a fully-realized Lord, for example, allowed Caliborn to affect not just the multiverse, but Homestuck's narrative itself in ways that had far-reaching consequences. Yet, even with all of his power, the desires and choices of the story's many characters were eventually realized, at some point, in some way.
This "willpower" also extends to our interpretation of Classpects. Sure, there are limits to what someone can do with such powers in the game itself, and there are also reasonable limits to what defines a Classpect in its analysis. A Mage of Breath, by definition, cannot be understood primarily as "one who actively destroys rules and limitations, and wields self-sacrifice as a weapon" because that's the realm of a Prince of Doom. Yet, we have a lot of freedom to interpret what "Breath" can mean, and how an Active "Understanding" Class like the Mage could use it to their own advantage. (Ironically enough, a Mage of Breath, as someone who deeply understands what it means to be free and unbound, would be well-equipped to this very task.)
Once we have a decent enough understanding of each Aspect's most basic Domain, as well as the fundamental Purpose of each Class, further interpretation of their abilities and potential is up to us. Something as silly as wordplay can have an effect, too. Aradia jokes that she's "made of Time," which does happen to directly fit her Classpect as one who creates Time, but think about what this might mean for a Maid of Hope! We can also make deeper interpretations based on the Class names themselves and our associations with them. On the surface, a Bard being a Destructive Class seems a bit odd, but consider the Bard as someone who brings mockery and ridicule to their Aspect, thus leading to its destruction. It's a bit of a stretch, sure, but isn't that what Gamzee did throughout the beginning of the comic? He fully believed in miracles, a symbol of Hope, and actively derided the anger and skepticism of others.
We are given an incredible amount of freedom within the Classpect system to make interpretations about how they would play out in a real game of SBURB, or even how these archetypes might represent how we interact with our own reality, our own stories. Humans are storytellers at heart, and it's no wonder we keep coming back to personality tests and blogs like these to try and discover our own roles in the greater narrative. We've told stories and dreamed of things greater than ourselves since long before we were painting shamanic transformations on cave walls, and we will continue to do so long after all of us who are alive right now have passed on.
Frankly, I think that's just about the most beautiful miracle of all. Storytelling is in our blood: long may it flow.
#classpect#classpect analysis#meta-analysis#homestuck#homestuck meta#i hope someone out there reads this and it makes them smile#i absolutely love talking about humans as storytellers#it's one of my favorite things in anthropology ever#we've told stories since our conception and we'll tell stories 'til our ultimate death#i love that about us. i love that we relate so much to the tales we tell#thanks carl jung you really put it best. and so did so many others

Ok, I'm cutting myself off after this because I cannot let myself fall into the elven lore obsession again, but that's just a scratch. I should mention it's mainly Gold Elf aristocracy, they will disappear up their own ass within a generation or two if left alone. Off the top of my head alone-
They were the last to leave the world of the fey, and only left because thier rampant use of high magic destroyed thier home down to 50 people, almost killing the entire silver elf species.
Created the Dracorage in order to destroy draconic rule. The Dracorage made all dragons lose control of themselves and kill everyone that wasn't a dragon whenever a certain comet with an irregular cycle drew near. This immediately got the flying elves killed, and yes the "don't kill other dragons" part was supposedly part of the plan to make them stop killing elves??? Even after the dragons lost power, guarded that dracorage's powersource to the bitter end. Note, it had been tens of thousands of years, the dragons were just saying "ok we'd like to stop randomly trying to kill all humanoids within 30 miles every few years."
Ripped a chunk out of heaven to make their eternal elf-only home. It only "succeeded" because their pantheon physically manifested to run damage control, and it still wiped out most elves and life in general with the tsunami. Dark elves were still banned though, for daring to point out this plan might be destructive beforehand.
When they did go to evermeet, some elves were lost. They never bothered coming back for them until deciding to subjugate them thousands of years later (to free them from competition with humans and firbolg of course). The elves at that point had become mixed elves, Llwyrr, who worshipped archfey and got along fine with dwarves, saving their hatred for Gold Elves.
Speaking of Evermeet, that event ripped a hole in spacetime and actually affected (in ways we don't fully know) multiple other points in history. like The Second Sundering, where worlds were separated and realms revealed by the overgod. Also influenced the Sundering. I hate them if nothing else for calling Evermeet The First Sundering when the Tearfall event (dragons appearing) is also known as the Sundering.
Thier hatred of Dark elves seemed to be rooted in them being more dominant despite Gold Elves being The Best God's Specialist Little Children (TM). The was due to them being some of the first to arrive, the second wave of elven activity after the scouts like green and winged elves, actively coming here instead of being forced by bad decisions. Dark and green elves made the original kingdoms and did most of the work. But you know, all elves should strive to be more like the Gold because they're the best, so pay attention to meeeeeeeee! Dad said I was in charge so you have to listen!!!1!!1!
I should mention there were Gold elves opposing them in some of the lands they conquered. It was the nation that was almost entirely gold elves that did this, the nations where gold elves were only PART of society fought and were subjugated by them. This is distinctly a problem with gold elf nobility, they need someone to keep them in check
I talked about the war already, but did you know that thier main reason for joining thier side was a small cult worshipping Lolth? Well Lolth had a right-hand-angel who fell alongside her. and was the focus of a hidden cult comprised of upper Gold Elven Society, to the point that some even made second homes in hell. Yeah, gold elves who were pushing for war were actively doing the thing they were declaring war for.
Speaking of which, after the dark elves were twisted into drow they decided "oh shit, that can happen? time to kill all high mages and priests everywhere so it can't happen to us." Eventually a high council of the gods was made and found them at fault, telling them to stop. They decided they were incapable of fault (sounds familiar) and tried to fight, but eventually fell.
They did not learn from this and did the same to another nation of elves a few thousand years later, speedrunning the whole process (minus the nuke) and falling to darkness.
I cannot emphasize enough that while most elves think thier race superior to most others, Gold Elf nobility has a whole ranking of where other elves fall underneath them, with themselves as the superior version of all others meant to guide everyone else to perfection. Only seeing Sea Elves as near equal, saying they're the Sun Elves of the water. This is bullshit, all their points on why are blatantly untrue. "They spread elven culture underwater" my ass, sea elves avoid most other species and call for elves to break down the walls between thier subraces, I think it's just how they cope with being worse at swimming
"Sun elves could be incredibly prejudiced, to the point of some even refusing to aid a dying human if it mildly inconvenienced them. Many sun elves objected to speaking in any language other than Elven or even to speaking with members of other races at all. These prejudices were partially rooted in past wrongs done by humans unto sun elves, though in truth they often only served to heighten present tensions." I'll admit that this one I ripped off a wiki for convenience, but I do have "Races of Faerun," I know it's there.
I might be forgetting things, this was off the cuff. but yeah the Gold Elves in lore are actually some of the most destructive things around. Their solution to SO many things I didn't even mention was to chuck high magic at it, magic of the gods. It almost always ended horribly. Oh, and those warring times? Just fun fact, that's when dwarves finally emerged from thier underground kingdoms to see the sky. They also saw gold elves terrorizing the world in a civil war and dropping magical nukes. When dwarven wisdom demands they distrust elves for being too frivolous with the power they have, they are specifically talking about that thousands of years of war that were the first things they saw. Oh, and since I won't get a chance to mention this again most likely, the dracorage? one of the dragon's solutions was to band together, putting old feuds aside to make a MAGICAL ANTI ORBITAL LASER spell to blow it the fuck up. they missed, grazed the moon, blew a chunk into an asteroid field and...caused a goblin war. Goblins saw the sky was brighter now, thought humans must be trying to grow more moons to see them with or something, and kicked off a mass panic.
Wait what's the thing about gold elves killing eilistraee followers as big eilistraee simp i never heard of this. What do I have to blame Corellon "Known Bitch" Larenthian with now?
...oh boy. I don't have the most time today, but I can always rattle off elven lore. idk why, I just got obsessed in the rabbit hole for a year for some reason, despite not being my favorite.
Ok, are you familiar with the evermeet debacle? Gold elves decided to make a new elf-only land by ripping out a chunk of heaven itself and throwing into the sea? Dark elves mentioned basic water displacement exists, and how every time gold elves try high magic it goes wrong and even wipes out entire elven species? Got banned for eternity even after being proven right, basically for insinuating that a Gold Elf plan is capable of fault. Well after everyone rebuilt from the widespread slaughter of most life on continents worth of coast, thier arrogance boiled over and the main gold elf nation tried to subjugate all other elves. Starting with the country which was Eilistraee's capital of worship. That was the start of the Dark Elf decent, as the country on the other side of the coast started fighting thier way through every nation between the two, using worse and worse means in a desparate attempt to get to dark/green elf nation they'd subjugated. Starting with fire, eventually leading to demons and undead. but. Um. Gold elves got sick of 3000 years of failed subjugation I guess, because they made a magical eternal nuke that wiped it off the face of the planet. Specifically with high magic, which comes through Corelleon and he has sole control over, able to just turn it off at any time. note that it took drow high mages running in and having to manually turn it off, even if Corellon somehow didn't register it happening he still had to approve for it to keep going endlessly. Remember, this nation that was vaporized was Eilistraee's place. The prime dark elf nation realized this was now a war for survival, went full feral cornered animal, and the other elves turned the dark elves into drow. Corellon even barred them from the afterlife, took away much of thier elven powers and cut them off from his love. like, for all elves and nations, even those in other planes or completely uninvolved. If you wonder why Lolth even has power, it's because when they made thier descent there was just her, a god of hedonism, and the slime god. Eilistraee had lost most of her influence because all her worshippers had been vaporized. The gold elves had destroyed all influences of good, so lolth had free reign. I made an unhinged video on it after like a year of reading up on every elf I could find and trying to boil the script down. not the most proud of it since I was barely conscious by the end of editing so there's weird pauses between some lines, and...holy shit looking back I forgot subtitles. I'll need to add those when I have a moment. but if you're interested in the full story. 13:05 for the war, 14:35 for the dark elf part. Or the whole thing if you want to hear a listing of all elves, as I learn that I'm not actually biased against them like I thought, just specifically against the Gold elves and Shadar-Kai. And the lythari, but I don't actually have anything against them, I just think the insistence that they aren't lycanthropes is a bit dumb.

One new message.
Summary: Amitie has just one more day until spring break, but he's worried he'll get in trouble since the Goddess of Spacetime keeps trying to message him!
Characters: Amitie (he/him), the Goddess/Jeanna (she/her it/its), various Primp Highschool students and teachers
Warnings: None
Note: Do not interact with this post if you're a proshipper lol. Primp is a high school/middleschool/preschool mix that we have many of here (mostly w/ catholic schools) s yeah. Amitie is 15 in this.
My name is Amitie! I'm a student at Primp Highschool, and I'm just like every other kid there!
Except...
I have the phone number of the Goddess on my phone!
At first, I thought it was just a prank. I mean, c'mon, the Goddess, messaging a dork like me?? Get real!
But after a while, I realized she was totally serious! She even sent me pictures of herself in space, and a friend's friend totally confirmed it! That's so cool!
I gotta admit, though, some of the stuff she sends me is kinda creepy! Like, sometimes she sends me messages about this weird apocalypse thing. Sometimes it ends just by me being nice to someone or whatever, but...
It's prolly just a joke on her end, although I don't think Goddesses usually make jokes. I'd have to ask someone!
Anyway, today's the last day of school before summer break, I'm super excited! Me and some friends are gonna go out of Primp for the first time ever- with our parents, of course. Don't wanna get lost without an adult to keep you safe, y'know!
Well, anyway, I'll be updating this blog again after school. See you guys later!! ^^
"Sorry, ms. teacher!" Amitie said upon finally putting his phone away.
"At least mew weren't totnyally late like the last twenty times, mya!" Popoi said, glaring at the poor child.
"Now, now, Popoi, it's not his fault, remember?" Accord gently scolded, "But I will admit, I am also glad..."
"Regardless, class has now begun, everyone, so please put any devices away and sit down. Klug, that includes you."
Grumbling, the young mage put away his latest creation: a phone battery fueled by magic instead of battery acid, used to power a small robot designed to fall off of tables.
"Now, everyone check your agendas and work from there. Today is the last day of school before break, and although that certainly doesn't mean you should slack off, there's no need for extra work."
Most sighed with relief, except for Klug, who began grumbling again at the assumption that extra work would not be permitted today. Everyone pulled out their agendas and then the workbooks they needed, then got to work.

AVATARS OF THE LASTING ASPECTS
Let’s talk about Players and Aspects.
There are Two to Three Avatars of an Aspect, and then the Aspect itself. The two are the Player, and whatever Familiar / Sidekick / Fence / Companion they may have.
The Aspect itself is The Thing and the Whole of the Thing. For example-- you can picture Time without a Player. Its the measurement of events as they proceed; but its also the Begining and the End, the Pace-- Its Art is Music and its Artifact is Clockwork.
Think of all Aspects as like that.
The Avatar of the Aspect, or the Player, is capable of both introducing and controlling how the Aspect will function. If the player chooses bad choices, the Aspect will turn to those bad choices. The Aspect as the Thing and the Whole of the Thing is a neutral force of nature, only following its function, and its Avatar can dictate how that function is carried out. The Avatar and Aspect, however, are separate in this-- the aspect can still carry out its function without an avatar, just look at the Troll-Godless Earth.
The Player’s Class often tells you how the Player will dish out their Aspect.
So.
Why is this important?
Consider what we see in Homestuck.
In the Troll Sessions, the Aspects are balanced. There is an avatar for each aspect, and they carry out as players can and will and won’t to do.
But its the Human sessions where all this gets interesting.
Because the Human sessions aren’t balanced. They don’t have an avatar for each Aspect, and worse still, you can see that a powerful entity-avatar has corrupted the human sessions and one troll session (LE)-- The humans sessions is where it becomes blatant how the Aspects function without someone to direct or with someone with malicious intent.
Let’s start with Beta Session.
Here, we are introduced to Avatars of Breath, Light, Space and Time. Spacetime, its a given we need, because for anything to happen you need Space to fill and Time to pace.
But Light and Breath?
Breath is motion, progression, plot. Everything about the Beta Session is fast moving and constant action, and in fact, is too fast. Everything has to be done quickly, established quicker, and it jumps around.
This is a session without any sort of grounding-- There are no Real Aspects to tie everything down, so everything is all over the place.
Light is Relevance, Meaning and Symbols; Eyes and Color, Consciousness (lights on and everybody is home). There is next to nothing dark about what we’re seeing-- intention is often made plainly clear, most of the characters are in their right minds, and the Beta Session is chocked full of Symbols and Meaning and the promise that things will be made Clear if we can only Look.
But the problem here-- is that its too much all at once. Like above, there are no Real Aspects to ground the Ideals we have. We are given all this information, but have no fucking idea how to process it or where to put it, or what’s relevant to what.
Without Avatars of the Real Aspects (Void, Doom, Blood, Rage, Heart), there is no SENSE. And the Guardians that are there, are just that-- Guardians. They hold an Aspect, but don’t do much with it.
The Aspects that are the Thing and the Whole of the Thing are there, but they merely Are, and do not bend to or over the whims of anyone.
--- Until the Trolls come in, do things start making Sense.
Let’s talk the Alpha Session.
So we have Avatars of Life, Void, Hope, and Heart.
Life is Health, Experience, the Breaking of Impossibility and Normalcy. The Players are Alive, and surprisingly Well, in spite of their awful circumstances. Roxy and Dirk should’ve Died (Dirk fell in the middle of the Ocean as a Baby, how did he survive? Roxy fell in the midst of Carapacians, how was she not Eaten?). And yet, they’re just ordinary teenagers.
But now, the Avatars are forced to live through horrible circumstances. There is no Time or Space-- No way to move forward, and no Space to grow. Just Surviving through all Impossibility-- And its fucking awful.
Hope is Coherence, Belief, Fantasy and Divinity. The fact that the players are experiencing something wholly fantastical-- a literal Alien Empress has come to take over Earth, there are Alien Monsters outside of Jake’s door, their best friends are 500 years into the Future or are in another universe entirely, Apocraplyse and Metaphysical-- That’s a helluva a thing to have.
But now all they have is Hope. Hope that there’s gonna be something better. Hope that something is gonna come down-- and ye gods, that’s awful. They’re living 2020 without it ever being 2020.
And their hope player is a self-serving jackass.
Heart is the Inner Self and Character, the Ego and Persona, the Facet and Aesthetic, Love and Soul and Self. Each character is appropriately theme’d-- Jane is the Heiress to a Cooking Empire and literally acts like the Betty Crocker character we see on the logo (not the Batter Witch). Roxy is a Scientist, and has a Science Lab, and she loves cats and wizards. Jake is a movie enthusiast with a love of adventure, and literally has a Tomb Raider Island just outside his door. And Dirk is surrounded by Robots and Brobots, and quite literal (and distorted) reflections of himself.
And did we mention the Romance Problems.
So many Romance Problems.
Heart here is one of our First Real Aspects. And lot of Dirk’s stress comes from being one of the only Real Aspect Avatars, and trying to temper nearly everyone. Remember that music can be played to the beat of one’s heart-- Heart here is trying to play Time, and uh-- well--
I mean, you tried but...
Void is Irrelevance, the meaningless Physical, the Dark and the Deep, the Incomprehensible. The world is real damn it, and suddenly it doesn’t matter as much anymore. The Session is Void, void of life, void of hope, void of heart, until something comes along and fixes it.
One of the Real Aspects, and it more or less just sits there like a Generic Object. Literally only Roxy is thrilled about this session and for good reason-- she’s the only one in her element. Void fills in what Space doesn’t-- and it doesn’t do that good of a job because NOTHING IS HERE.
... So how many of you called Act 6 meaningless? How many of you had quit ship come Act 6? Feel bored or disappointed? Void did its job, didn’t it.
So.
What about the Aspects that Aren’t here?
Easy, the Trolls fill in what Classes and Aspects are missing. Kanaya brings in Sylph, Karkat Blood, Gamzee Rage and Bard, Sollux Mage and Doom, Terezi Mind, and Vriska brings in Thief (Though it can be argued that Jack Noir originally brought in Thief and Rage).
As an Avatar of Rage, Gamzee is mean to bring Contrivance, Madness and Passion, the Self Evident Truth. The Problem here, is that he only brings in Madness. Take the Juju Episode. He isn’t the Avatar of Rage itself, he’s the Avatar of the Lord of Time’s Rage-- He comes in to do the work of LE, not the work of the real Rage Aspect.
A real avatar of Rage would’ve shown our Alpha Players that they can change the system to favor them-- because this is bullshit.
As Avatar of Mind, Terezi brings in the Outer Self, the Choice, Cause and Effect, Superego and Karma. The Multiverse at your disposal. When she is down because of Gamzee, suddenly you lost all your Choices and there is no Karma (Pre-retcon Meteor).
Mind is also Memory and the Saved Game. If it wasn’t for Terezi, John would not have been able to go back and fix things. For a Narrative, Saved Games aren’t particularly Clean-- But SBURB is also a Game and a Story. We’ve seen what happens when the Player dies and lives are lost-- but imagine if you can just go back to a Saved Game and redo an action without having died in the first place.
That’s Mind.
As Avatar of Blood, Karkat provides not Character-- but You. Your Place, Yourself, Your Choice. Blood is the most Grounded and the Most Real of the Aspects. Everything might be Fake, but You, the Reader, are here and making it real. Blood falls under being Self-Driven, Promises and Friendship, Collective and Shared. Only as strong as your greatest weakness.
When he is down, you’ve lost Everything. When the Avatar of Blood flees, all those bonds and promises go out the window (Murderstuck). When he dies, there is nobody left but despair (Bad End).
As Avatar of Doom, Sollux provides Destruction, The Limit and the Crossed Line, Inevitability and the Impossible-- Death at the End. No matter how bad that seems, Doom isn’t a Bad Aspect. Its the Cleaner. Something has gone wrong, and there’s no way to fix it, you can take solace in the fact that it’ll be over soon. Doom is a very sorrowful aspect, with a thankless but needed job.
He tends to avoid the Human’s (and yet looks up human culture) cos he’s not that interested (Doom avoids the Players). When he’s defeated by the Avatar of Hope, Murderstuck seemingly has no End (and yet, he isn’t dead, just changed). When he leaves to go hang out with Friends once the Humans arrive, Doom has left them (Their journey is guaranteed to succeed).
Sollux has a frightful job, being an Avatar of Doom.
And what of the Muse and the Lord.
Muses are Inspirational. You have something that inspires you to create. Calliope is that inspiration. The Avatar of Space inspires its creation.
And the Lord? Well, he’s the Creator and the Director of the Piece. The Avatar of Time ensures Creation.
Worse though, is when Caliborn proves to be a malicious creator and director, and he literally takes Avatars as his own.
Gamzee, an Avatar of Rage, is now an Avatar of Caliborn’s Rage. His Madness. Spread either via Murderous Intent or Juju.
Equius, an Avatar of Void, is now an Avatar of Caliborn’s Void. His Physical Reality.
Dirk, an Avatar of Heart, fights so hard not to be Caliborn’s Heart. And plenty of Dirk’s other selves Fail this Fight. Bro is merely a distilled version, and that’s horrible enough. Hal fails outright, and his nature tends toward maliciousness toward all other players.
And Homestuck. The Alpha Timeline? -- Its Caliborn’s Time.
And you Will Follow it. You have no other Choice.
