⇢ hannah’s relay cam heavilyfeaturing yangyang
⇢ this was both filmed and released before yanghan was exposed
𝚛𝚎𝚖𝚒𝚗𝚍𝚎𝚛𝚜:
⇢ conversations written in italics are spoken in english. requests and feedback are highly appreciated!
the screen shows yangyang?
“hi! right now, it is not my time! it’s her time, so let’s wake her up”
he points at the bed behind him then sets up the camera on the stand and walks over to the bed, sitting down on the side
“she told me to wake her up before her time, but she didn’t want to get up earlier”
he poked the lump in the blankets, and it stirred just the slightest bit
“hannah… wake up, schnucki”
the lump groaned and sat up revealing hannah with messy hair
she just looked at yangyang, eyes still sleepy, then slumped forward
camera cuts and it’s hannah with her makeup kit and yangyang’s out of frame talking to her
“i can’t believe you’re doing your makeup” “be quiet schnucki and let me do my relay cam”
“hey guys! it’s currently 3:11, and i’m fully awake now and doing my makeup because why not?”
she shows her phone which has the time, and she smiles when she sees her lockscreen
“do you like my lockscreen? roo and i have matching lockscreens. that is, shotaro. it’s a funny story, actually.”
yangyang scoffed in the corner and she rolled her eyes
“i already did a really thin layer of my cushion and blush, so i have to do my eye makeup quick”
true enough, she did do her makeup fairly quickly, little mix’s sweet melodies and ariana grande’s pov playing in the background
“hurry up,” yangyang in the background threw himself into her bed “we’re supposed to eat lunch”
“i took a shower early and cooked breakfast for roo and channie before they went to practice, then i cooked brunch for mark and jungwoo oppa, give me a break and fix my bed”
she finishes her eyeliner and takes the camera
“let’s go to the kitchen and heat up some of what i cooked earlier”
she sets the camera on the kitchen island so it catches the stove and a few cupboards and talks while working her way around the kitchen
“the two finished the breakfast i made them, and we’re out of side dishes,” she took out a container with a few pieces of fried meat, “looks like mark and jungwoo oppa ate more of the chicken tenders than i thought they would. looks like i have to make more.”
she takes out a bag of doritos and two tupperwares, one with flour in it
yangyang walks right in and lights up when he sees the bag of chips “aye, it’s doritos!”
“yes, and i need you to crush it” she laughed and handed him a rolling pin. she took out a two chicken breasts and proceeds to start filleting it “looks like you guys are gonna see me cook chicken tenders today”
yangyang stands next to her and rolls the dorito bag with a rolling pin, confused. she laughs and looks up at him
“it’s for the crust,” she laughed
“that’s why it always tastes so good and way better than anything else!”
he looks at her and they kinda freeze for a while
scene cuts and it’s her in front of a pot frying the chicken tenders with yangyang going “ooooh”
she faced him and laughed “you’re holding it way too close to my face”
“that’s okay, you look pretty” “whatever”
she just rolled her eyes and picked up one piece and showed it to the camera
“it’s a little orange, but that’s because i used cheesy chips as a crust.”
she stacked them onto a plate and smiled into the camera. she turned off the stove and carried the plate over to the coffee table by the couch. yangyang sat next to her and settled the camera in front of them
“you know the drill schnucki. no—” “no crumbs on your carpet, i know”
yangyang leaned his face a little closer teasingly. she gave him a tight lipped smile and pushed his head away
cut scene
“you know, at this point, people are gonna forget this is your solo relay cam” “who’s fault is it for wanting to eat lunch with me” “my face is quality content”
but they’re both just tucked into bed in dark-ish lighting
“i saw this movie trending called if anything happens, i love you” “oh, you do?”
she turned to him and gave him a deadly sweet smile, “schnucki, i will not hesitate to kick you out of my bed and feed you to yoonmi’s gigantic alaskan malamute”
he raised his arms in surrender
“anyway apparently it can make people cry? in twelve minutes? which is good because it’s twenty minutes to three, and we need to head to the company”
she showed her phone and it lit up showing the time. then a notification appeared. it was a text message from “lukey my shield”
“oh, it’s lucas oppa! Let me just tell him we’ll be in the company by 3:30”
and a small ball of fur can be seen in the background hopping up and smothering yangyang’s face. hannah turned after pressing send and laughed. she leaned back into the pillow and patted minnie’s head as soon as yangyang was able to wrangle the dog into his arms
scene cuts to them sitting in a car, minnie curled up on yangyang’s lap
“yeah, we didn’t finish the movie” she laughed, “we both got way too distracted. but now we’re on our way to the company for… stuff”
yangyang snorted, and so did her manager
“hey,” she gave a look off camera to the driver “kihyun oppa, you’re supposed to be proud i’m not saying anything” “whatever you say, kiddo”
“but it’s almost three! sorry my relay cam was kinda boring”
“i’m offended” “suck it up, schnucki” “maybe you two would like to end the hour before bickering again?”
yangyang and hannah looked at each other and laughed before hannah brought up her phone and showed the time
“2:59, and it’s almost ten oppa’s time,” she smiled, “i hope this wasn’t too boring for you guys. this is hannah’s relay cam ending, and-”
her phone started buzzing with a photo of her and lucas appearing on her screen just as the clock changed to 3:00. yangyang laughed and began waving using minnie’s paw
that’s where the relay cam ended

Series: Part 2 of Breaking Down For Smee @anothersworld
A companion one shot of Breaking Down- from Augusts POV
August dropped that son of a bitch off at Boston PD and headed to Emma’s. He parks his car in her empty spot, taking the elevator up to her floor. He jingles his keys, a smile on his face, and wonders what kind of shambles Emma left the place in.
He opens the door surprised. For once, it’s tidy, and he nods in approval. Emma was the sloppiest person he had ever known, eating out of the dishwasher, as dirty plates stacked up in the sink. He missed her, and he knew that this time felt different, she did.
He dropped his bag in her room and hopped in the expansive shower. He slips on his pajama bottoms and heads towards the kitchen. Tapping his lips, “Now where do you have the snacks Duckling” he asks as he rifled through her cabinets.
Bingo. Chips Ahoy, Doritos, Swedish fish, Kit Kats, gummies. All the good snacks. He even eyes her beloved Belgian hot cocoa mix, doubting she has milk.
He opens her fridge and pulls back assaulted by the stench. “What the fuck is that smell,” he says looking at containers, Chinese food, pizza, “ugh” he shakes his head and promptly empties her fridge.
“You are a swine” he grumbles as he empties her fridge of perishables, and things he isn’t even going to open. He tosses it all, condiments, anything not in a bottle with a lid on it.
He knew she wasn’t coming back unless it was to get her stuff, he could tell.
Something had shifted in her, something he had never seen, and to spare her neighbors from thinking there was a rotting corpse in this apartment, he promptly threw the bag of garbage down the shoot in the hallway away from the apartment.
He ordered their favorite Indian food, sprawls on the couch with Netflix on, pulls up her shows, and tucks into the cookies. He smiles and sends a selfie of him to Emma, eating her cookies on her couch.
“3, 2,1” his phone buzzes to life, he smiles.
“I knew you would call. I ate them all and they were delicious. You always have the good snacks.”
Emma pouted, “You’re an ass, stop eating my snacks!”
He laughs at her, “Why? You aren’t here, they need to be eaten, I threw half your groceries out, disgusting Swan.”
Emma is quiet for a moment, “You’re on speakerphone Aug, and I am not alone.”
August grins, oh this would be interesting, she had never let anyone meet him- let alone speak to him.
“Oh. Hello mystery man, I am August, Emma’s much better half of our platonic friendship and semi-family.” August heard a deep laugh and an accent, Irish he would guess if he had to bet.
“He is funny,” the man said.
August smiled at that, and then Emma interjected.
“Don’t encourage his ego, Jones” Emma barked.
August grabbed his laptop and opened his programs waiting for them to say something he could use to search.
“Hi August, Killian Jones, single, male, Caucasian, about 178, Irish, smoldering good looks, and besotted with the keeper of your snacks.”
August laughed at that, he was funny, Emma needed funny. He typed in all that information, and certainly there he was, Killian Jones. Augusts’ eyes widened when he clicked his Maine driver’s license, he had to hold back a Jesus Chris because this guy was a god.
“I see why you are thinking Em,” he said to Emma through the speakerphone. “Anyways, I dropped that asshat off at BPD, put the cash in your account, and I plan to head out tomorrow. What do you want me to drop off or send?” he asked his sister.
“Everything” Killian shouted, and he heard the telltale slap of Emma hitting Jones, and a grumble from the man.
“I don’t know, can I call you tonight?” Emma said quietly, and he could tell she was having a moment, she was going to run or was considering it.
“Of course, I will have found your secret stash of candy by then,” August said in reply.
“Don’t go through my drawers!” Emma shouted, almost like a plea.
“See, you make it too easy!” August laughed and shook his head. She hung up the phone. “Now let’s see who you are Killian Jones,” August said flipping through the reports.
His driver’s license, bank account, a deceased brother, August saw his Auto Repair shop linked and that account which held a quite sizeable sum as he flipped through it, he didn’t need money from Emma- that was a good thing.
His business seemed fairly profitable for such a small town, population just over 1400, so he was alright on that end.
He noticed that Killian Jones owned the business and building alone, no outstanding mortgage or bills, or addresses, he would guess he probably lived above his shop.
His two credit cards all at a low balance, one personal, one for his business. The credit score was not perfect but pretty good. August saw no aliases, or red flags, certainly nothing he would warn Emma about. This guy seemed normal, maybe completely perfect for Emma.
August sat there perusing all the files, he looked into his brother’s death- was in the Navy, an accident a few years back. Curious, he went back through Killian’s bank accounts and noticed a hefty payment deposited a few months after the brothers’ death from the US Government.
August trailed that and connected that Killian used the settlement payoff to buy his business outright and stashed the rest in his savings. Jones wasn’t a frivolous spender, his receipts and business expense all parts and supplies. Nothing was giving him any red flags.
He went to social media and saw an Instagram account, but it looked like it hadn’t been used in some time. He scanned the pictures, mostly were tagged from a RedRidingHood.
August would also bet that the brunette in most of the photos linked to that account would be her, but he saw mostly just group photos, and she had tagged Jones, who was indeed a handsome man.
He looked through the DMV, he smirked when he saw that jones had a motorcycle and a car registered.
“Emma does love a man on a motorcycle” he laughed and decided that was enough digging for now.

Rileys POV - Day 6 (Morning)
She awoke to the sound of her phones alarm going off. Eyes still closed she groaned into her pillow and blindly reached out for it, only to be met with the cold unoccupied surface of her night stand. Yet, the sound continued, so she flailed her arm again, only wider this time. Still nothing. She opened 1 eye slightly and peaked through her lashes. Her brows pinched together in frustration. No phone...?
Then it hit her. Riiiight... “Maxwell, turn off the alarm..” she groaned out. Though to no avail as the sound continued it’s assault of her ears. “Maxwell!” she urged a little louder this time. But still no response. She huffed and sat up, glaring at her friend still happily asleep on the couch across from her. She took hold of her pillow and flung it with such force that she could swear she heard it breaking the sound barrier. “Maxwell!!” She yelled now, frustration clear in her voice.
The pillow connected with his head and he sat up instantly “I swear, Bertrand, it was like that when I got here!” He shouted in a daze. There was a moment of silence before she cleared her throat and continued to stare him down. Hana, now awake and sitting up in the bed beside her, was also staring at him. Riley could feel the corners of her mouth attempting to lift up at her friends abrupt outburst, however she fought them and forced them to stay down.
He cringed then slowly turned his head to face them “I’m guessing you both heard that?” He said awkwardly as he scrunched up his nose, clearly taking in the two questioning eyes now boring into him.
Riley looked to Hana, both obviously trying to stifle their giggles. “You bet we did..” she snorted as she turned back to Maxwell. “Dreaming about Bertrand again, are we?” She deadpanned but then quickly burst out laughing. She couldn’t hold it in any longer. Hana joined her and they both fell back on the bed in hysterics.
Then she heard it again. That damn noise. “Maxwell, for the love of all that is holy, please turn that damn alarm off!” She begged from her position on the bed. He quickly reached for his phone and silenced it. “There! Geesh!” He said “See if I ever set an alarm for you again..” he tried to mumbled under his breath, but she heard it. She sat up once more, feeling slightly guilty for mocking him.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
The night before, after everyone had left her room, Riley changed into her pjs and climbed into bed to wait for her friends to return. They arrived only a few minutes later.
“Riley...Why didn’t you respond to my texts?!” Maxwell asked with a pout as he entered the room “You never ignore my messages, especially when they are snack related!” He added.
“Ooh, Yeah...about that..” her brow furrowed “I sort of left my phone in Liam’s office..” she trailed off as she stared down at her fidgeting hands.
“Ah.” he said with a nod as a wide smile broke out on his face “That makes way more sense..like you’d ever willingly ignore me..” he chuckled. “Well, since you didn’t respond we just picked all your favourites!” He said as he lifted up the massive bags in his hands to show them to her.
“Thank you” she said as she looked up at him with a weak smile. And she was thankful to him for bringing snacks, but her mind was a little preoccupied. All she could think about was the phone now being held hostage in his office. She was not willing to go get it at this hour, she couldn’t risk another run in. Not again. Definitely not tonight. Or maybe, not ever.
She had now basically resigned herself to the idea that her phone was possibly gone forever. She’d just have to replace it. It was surely a lost cause. That would be the only option now. A new phone and maybe a new number....
Maxwell nodded as he took the bags over to the table to start unloading them. He clearly hadn’t notice the internal turmoil written all over Riley’s face, but Hana must have... “Riley...” she said softly “Are you okay? Do you want me to go grab it for you?” She asked as she walked towards her friend.
Riley thought for a moment then shook her head vehemently as she was hit with a realization “That’s okay, Hana, I have to meet Madeleine in the morning, I’ll look for it then” she said. Hana nodded in response “Well, if you change your mind, I’d be more then willing to go grab it for you” she offered.
“It can wait till tomorrow. Though....” she crinkled her nose “I may need one of you to set an alarm for me..”
“Say no more” Maxwell interjected as he pulled out his phone. He set an alarm for the morning “Now, what do you want first Riley? Peanut M&M’s or Doritos?!”
“Both” she said with a smirk. Then the friends just lounged around eating snacks and talking about everything and anything, before they all fell asleep.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Now back in the present, Riley realized just how lucky she was for the two people in her room. They had both always been there for her, and she had never had more loyal or loving friends before in her life. In her mind she felt like she owed them the world, that she would never be able to show them just how important they had become in her life. She looked at Hana laying next to her and smiled warmly as her eyes drifted back to Maxwell “I’m sorry, Maxwell. Thank you for the alarm” she said sincerely “You’re a life saver in more ways then you know..”
He looked at her as a smile took over his face “Do you think life savers would be considered a breakfast food..?” He asked seriously.
She shrugged. “I don’t see why not” she responded, jokingly. But the look he gave her as he jumped up and headed for the door made her instantly regret it “No, wait! Maxwell! I was joking...” she shouted as her door slammed shut. “Life savers are not a breakfast food...” she whispered. Shit. She groaned as she fell back on the bed.
“You know, regardless of what your answer was, he was going to eat life savers for breakfast either way” Hana said reassuringly.
Riley chuckled as she realized Hana was probably right. This was Maxwell after all. The exact Maxwell that did and ate whatever he wanted, whenever he wanted. “True” then she sighed discontentedly “Well...I guess I have a press conference to get to..”
Hana sat up abruptly “You’ll do great! And just think, once that is over with we get to finally see your dutchy!!”
Though that thought was somewhat exciting, it was also very much the opposite. She always thought her first visit at her dutchy would be with Liam. He would take her there and show her around, tell her about it’s history and people. They would explore the estate and grounds together, and discuss any changes or upgrades that were needed. But now, now she was going to have to experience it all on her own. She frowned at the thought.
Just then she felt Hana’s hand take hers “Awe, Riley. I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to upset you” she said softly.
Sitting up to look at her friend “It’s okay Hana, I should be excited about finally getting to see Valtoria, but...” she trailed off.
“I totally get it, Riley” she stated as she squeezed her hand comfortingly “I know this isn’t how you envisioned your first visit to Valtoria, but you won’t be alone. We will be with you every step of the way”
Riley nodded “Thank you, Hana. I don’t know what I’d do without you and Maxwell” she stated honestly. “You both have been my rocks over the passed few months and I couldn’t have gotten this far without either of you.”
Hana smiled as she added “And we will always be here for you” she stood and offered Riley her hand. “Now, let’s get you down to the boutique so we can get this all over with” to which Riley nodded and took her hand to stand.
They arrived at the boutique and picked out an outfit. Keeping in mind that they were still in the mourning phase, she donned jet black, straight legged jeans and a loose flowy, long sleeve button down blouse, that was tucked into the waist of her pants. She finished it off with a pair of black pumps and her hair tied up in a bun, simple yet refined.
She parted ways with Hana after a quick hug and thank you, then she began to make her way towards Liams office, but the closer she got the more anxious she became. Praying that he wouldn’t be there. If she hadn’t left her phone behind she could have texted Madeleine to change the location of there meeting.
She also could have used Hana’s phone to do that but she needed to at least attempt to get her phone back. So she decided to stick to their original meeting place. Nearing his office, her heart began to thump wildly in her chest.
She quickly found herself in front of the door, she took a few deep breaths then knocked. No answer. Hesitantly, she opened the door to peek in, finding the room empty. “Thank god” she whispered.
She hastily entered the room but left the door ajar for Madeleine. She moved towards the spot where she had been sitting the night before, reaching her hand down into the creases of the couch. Mindlessly digging for her phone. Nothing.
She got down on her hands and knees to look under the couch, reaching under to feel around for it. Still nothing. She sat up on her knees and looked around the general area. Where is that damn phone..? Did he....did he take it..?
Then she heard a commotion at the door, followed by an “Oh!” She quickly turned to see who it was. Just Madeleine. She signed thankfully.
“You’re actually early for once” Madeleine declared as she entered the room and shut the door “Good. Glad I didn’t have to come wake you this time..” pausing after turning back from the door, clearly now realizing where Riley was located “Aaaah Riley...? Why are you on the floor...?” She raised an eyebrow, questioningly.
“Good morning to you to, Madeleine. And I was just looking for my phone” she responded coolly as she stood and dusted off her knees. “So, shall we get this over with?”
“Yes. Let’s” she responded.
They spent the next 20 minutes going over the speech. Making sure it sounded okay and would portray everything they needed it to. Once they were finished they headed for the front of the palace. This press release, like the first one, was to be held outside in the main courtyard. And once again the weather was kind to them. It was another beautiful sunny day, not a cloud in the sky.
Riley stood off to the side of the doors, just out of view of the large crowd now gathered on the front lawn. She clenched her eyes shut as she bounced slightly on the balls of her feet and shook out her arms. Looking less like she was about to make a speech to the people and more like she was about to hop into a fighting ring. She took a few deep breaths trying to calm her nerves.
This was officially the first press release she had ever done alone. Or would ever do alone, if she had a say in the matter. She tried to remind herself that she just had to get through this and then she wouldn’t have to do this ever again. This was her last hurdle. The final hurdle.
With a sigh she turned to head out the doors towards the podium. Putting her speech notes down she took her place. A hush fell over the crowd instantly. She waited for the signal from Madeleine then she began.
“Good morning. I would like to thank you all for your well wishes in this difficult time, and for joining me here today. It is with great pleasure that I am able to inform the people that King Liam has awakened and is expected to make a full recovery. He will be returning to the palace within the week and at that time he will hold another press conference to answer any further questions you may have. With that said, I do have a few moments to take any questions you may have, currently”
She answered as many questions as she could, keeping her answers short and to the point. But also as honest as she could muster, without giving away to much.
Luckily, no one seemed to notice her struggles with a few of the questions. She was proud at how well she had learned to momentarily hide her true feelings. How she could put on this stoic facade for the press, when need be.
It was probably due to her firsthand knowledge of how they ran with ANY little hint of distress. Any shred of upset that they could spin into a story. She refused to give them anything. Not this time.
She noticed Madeleines queue in the corner of her eye, her time was almost up.
She raised her hand “Unfortunately, that seems to be all the time we have for today. Once again, I’d like the thank you all for joining us here, but I must now return to helping prepare for the Kings arrival.” Finishing with a smile and a wave as she turned around and walked back into the palace.
The second she went through the doors and they shut behind her she leaned up against a wall and let out a long, deep breath. Her final hurdle was done. Now it was time to pack so she could leave this place and try to begin the healing process. Though she knew that was going to be a long, possibly unending battle.
Liams POV - Day 6 (Morning)
He found himself standing on the Eiffel Tower, almost toppled over in laughter. Standing next to him in a stunning, cream flower dress; designer from the looks of it, was Riley. Her laugh was bouncing off the cold metal of the tower then echoing out over the enchanting Paris skyline.
He had just finished telling her the story of Adelaides escargot malfunction, even going as far as to mimic her attempting to pull the meat from its shell. Ultimately resulting in it taking a direct route towards her face. He had finished off the reenactment with his best impression of the sudden horror on her face after it went everywhere.
Riley had found the story hilarious and was in the middle of a very enthusiastic laughing fit. His breathe hitched at the vibrant sound coming from the beautiful creature beside him. How at peace he felt next to her. How calm and overjoyed. She made him feel at home in her presence. Utterly relaxed. Entirely himself.
He stared at her for a moment. Just taking in the sight before him. This woman whom he loved with everything he had. This woman he was going to marr— hoped he would marry. This woman he prayed that one day he’d have the pleasure of calling his wife. His queen.
He continued to stare at her as she slowly composed herself, wiping a few stray tears from her eyes. She turned towards him and his heart fluttered at the smile on her face.
“What did Madeleine say?” She asked absentmindedly, then the smile faded quickly into a neutral look. Slightly pained even, completely opposite to joyous look she had worn only moments ago. He could see the turmoil in her eyes now. He could tell she had instantly regretted asking. She obviously hadn’t wanted any part of this night to be about Madeleine....No, not this night. This night was supposed to be just about us. Not about that woman.
He faltered for a moment, wondering if he should answer or outright change the subject entirely. Sure not that they both shared the same feelings about this evening. Tonight was about them. And only them..... but here they were, it was out there. No taking it back now.
He shrugged nonchalantly “Nothing, though I could tell she wasn’t pleased to be embarrassed by her mother...” he said almost indifferently, as if he was talking about just some random noble, and not his possible future wife. He had to change the subject, he needed to get away from this topic “Personally, it was all I could do to not laugh” he added with a chuckle in his voice. Trying to lighten the mood.
Riley softly smiled at him, he could almost see a ‘thank you’ in her eyes. He was positive now that she had never meant to bring Madeleine up. “Your family’s training about royal composure must come in handy.” She replied.
Then he remembered another moment from todays adventures. One she might not find as funny, but it would change the conversation. That was for sure.
He smiled at her and nodded “It has it’s uses. And as if that weren’t enough, there was the other time today when we almost lost Maxwell...” he trailed off due to the wide eyed stare she was now giving him. Shoot. Maybe I shouldn’t have brought this up....
“What? How?” She questioned.
He ran a hand through his hair, resting it on the back of his neck awkwardly. “Well, for security reasons, the royal motorcade moves as soon as the king is ready. Maxwell wandered off to get a drink without telling anyone, and by the time he came back...” he trailed off again, as his brow furrowed, unsure of her reaction to this story.
“No” she said as her hand flew up to cover her mouth in an attempt to stifle her laughter. He let out a deep breath, realizing she found this story just as hilarious as the first one.
“I had a meeting to attend, so the rest of the motorcade followed” He smirked as he continued “When he walked out of the store, we were all gone!” He allowed himself to laugh now.
Riley couldn’t hold in her laughter any longer either “Wow...” she said as she threw her head back in a hearty guffaw. There was that vibrant sound again. The one that made his breath hitch and his heart flutter. “...Poor Maxwell!” She added as she continued to laugh.
Then she paused and dropped her head back down to stare at him, wide eyed again “I can just picture him standing there. Lost and adrift...” she sucked both her lips in between her teeth. Obviously trying to feign upset, though the corners of her mouth were giving her away, clearly trying not to laugh more. He shook his head gently at her “Not that adrift. By the time we got back, we found him relaxing in a diner, working his way through his third burger”
That did her in. She burst out laughing once more “That’s the Maxwell we know and love” but as the words left her mouth she stopped again to stared at him, slowly raising an eyebrow, with a mischievous look in her eye “How long did it take you to notice he was gone?”
His eyes widened, not expecting that question. Shit. Ah... “Half an hour?” He asked, though she wouldn’t have the answer he was looking for. The question had caught him off guard just enough that he hadn’t properly thought out his next words “Madeleine thought it was a waste of time when I asked everyone to turn around, but I knew you would’ve understood” Crap. He had brought her up again. He didn’t even mean to. It just sort of slipped out.
He searched her face, hoping his blunder hadn’t upset her, praying it hadn’t. The look in her eyes made him believe she was trying to form her next words carefully. An awkward silence hung over them, as he scolded himself. He had brought up the one person neither of them wanted to be thinking about right now. Let alone talking about. They had only just gotten off the topic of Madeleine. Yet, here they were once more, only this time it was entirely his fault.
“Of course. You don’t leave your friends behind!” She finally said. It was now her turn to change the subject, to which he was the thankful one this time.
He weakly smiled at her, before they could fully change the subject, there was one thing he needed her to know. The truth. “Moments like that, when I wish you’d been at my side, make me even more grateful for the ones I get to share with you”
“Me too, I just wish this one didn’t have to be over so soon” she said as she looked down, trying to hide the frown forming on her face.
Seeing her upset was hard for him, especially knowing he was partially to blame. Though almost everything about this situation was entirely out of their hands, he wasn’t foolish enough to think he had no part in it. He was well aware this whole mess fell slightly on him.
He stepped towards her and took her hands in his as he attempted to smile, though he could tell it was merely a rueful smile, at best. He opened his mouth to speak but the she shook her head, as if clearing something from her mind. She looked up at him with a new found eagerness in her eyes.
“I know! Let’s take a picture. Something to remember tonight by”
“I don’t think any picture could capture how wonderful this night has been...but I’m certainly willing to try” he smiled and squeezed her hands “Will you do the honors?”
She nodded quickly as she pulled her phone from her clutch. He moved his hands to her hips and turned her to face away from the skyline, then positioned himself next to her. He wrapped his arm around her shoulders, pulling her in close to his side as she raised the phone up, he smiled waiting for her to take the shot. But just as she was about to take it she shifted and he felt her rise up, followed closely by her lips on his cheek. Then he heard the camera snap, signalling that it had now taken the photo.
“Riley...” he whispered as he turned to her, reaching up to brush his fingers against her cheek, but as his skin touched hers a freezing wind picked up around them. He felt a chill run up his spin as goosebumps broke out across his body, he looked down to see Riley shivering now. “Are you alright?” He asked concernedly.
She smirked, and crossed her arms in front of her to run her hands up and down between her exposed shoulders and elbows. “I’d be better if you warmed me up with a kiss.”
He mirrored her expression as one of his eyebrows raised “Oh?” He questioned. They stared at each other for a moment as she continued to smirk back at him. As if challenging him. He looked down at her lips briefly, before his eyes snapped back up to meet hers. Holding her eye contact, he slowly leaned towards her, gripping her waste firmly as he pulled her flush against him. Their lips were dangerously close now, the anticipation was at an all time high. Just as their lips were about to touch—
Liam awoke to a knock at his door, he sat up quickly and looked around his room. Momentarily forgetting where he was. That he was in fact alone, in his new room.
He groaned and put a hand on his forehead, he probably shouldn’t have drank so much last night. He crawled out of bed and made his way to the door, opening it to see who was standing on the other side. Who had woken him up just as his dream was getting to the good part. Just as he was about to finally kiss the girl of his dreams. And she was exactly that, both literally and figuratively.

Patient 743 - Chapter 5
A/N: Trigger warning, this chapter contains a slight abuse scene.
Camila’s POV
My head was beginning to pound as I made my way out of the main corridor and into the break room for all of the staff. I quickly slid my employee card and signed out for the day, I went to my locker and grabbed my backpack, checking my time. Four fifteen, perfect. Ally, one of my classmates who is also in the early nursing program should be here any second. And as if on cue, I turn around and see her walking into the room, a ray of sunshine surrounding her. Ally is the type of girl who had the smile that could end world wars and cure cancer.
“Ally, you know the new patient that is in Normani’s room? Lauren? Can you please go and check on her tonight. She wasn’t feeling well and I just want to make sure she is okay.”
“Of course Mila, what was wrong?” Ally’s whole body language changed and concern was written all over her face.
“She just randomly started to throw up, and a lot. Just keep me updated, please? And since dinner is served in forty-five please make sure she eats, even if it is just a little bit of something.”
I didn’t know if I felt guilty for what Austin had said to Lauren, but my stomach began to feel uneasy. I ran my fingers through my messy hair as I threw my bag over my shoulder. Stepping forward I wrap my arms around Ally’s short frame, pulling her into a tight hug, squeezing her lightly.
“Thank you Allycat.”
“It’s no problem, enjoy your night Camila. I’ll text you if anything comes up.”
I smile at her before I make my way to the exit of the room and walked into the lobby. I notice Austin on his phone, a goofy smile plastered over his face, rolling my eyes instantly.
“Hey.” I tap on his shoulders to get his attention.
“God, finally. You take for-fucking-ever.”
“Well, excuse me for trying to help people.”
I quickly began to walk out of the building and into the parking lot towards Austin’s car, with him following. Once he unlocks it I slip into the passenger side.
Austin finally speaks up as he is driving.
“You can’t save the crazies, Camila.”
I felt the anger rise through my whole body at his words. “Take me home. Now.”
Austin turns his gaze towards me and laughs obnoxiously.
“What? No, it’s almost been two months since you’ve slept with me and this is the only time my parents aren’t home.”
I didn’t realize it until the car stopped but he pulled up and into his driveway. He turned his face towards me, reached out and grabbed the side of my face with his hand roughly gripping my jaw, and shoved his tongue into my mouth. I pulled away instantly, stepping out of the car and started to walk down his driveway.
“I’ll just walk home, fuck you.” I nearly yell at him before I feel his strong grip moving around my waist, pushing me back and slamming his body against mine, which was now pressed up against his car.
I gazed up at him with a pleading glare, fear beginning to take over my body as I feel his lips pressing down on my neck.
“Austin, please, let go of me.”
After my words choked out I felt his hand sliding down between our bodies, past my jeans, and into my panties. I quickly pushed on his shoulders as hard as I could manage to try and force him off of me. As soon as I did I felt a quick thud against the left side of my face, a stinging sensation began to move across all my facial features.
I knew I had to get out of here, so I quickly brought my leg up and kicked Austin between his legs. He doubled over and fell down on his knees. I took this opportunity to run down his street and towards my best friend, Dinah’s house. I quickly grabbed my phone out of my backpack, still running as I dialed her number.
“Hey, Mila.” Dinah’s voice spoke through the device.
“Please tell me you’re home right now.” My voice was shaky and I had trouble speaking out the words while running at the same time. I hate running, why do people do this for fun?
“Yeah I am, what’s wrong?”
“I’ll explain when I get there.”
I hung up the phone and began running even faster, just in case Austin decided to get into his car to chase me down. I took shortcuts through alleyways until I finally reached Dinah’s front door. Knocking a few times, crossing my arms over my chest as I gazed down Dinah’s street, half expecting Austin to show up any minute.
“Hey- Oh my god. What the hell happened?”
I looked down, walking past Dinah and into her house, finally breaking down I let the tears fall.
I was never the kind of person to be able to hold in my tears. Dinah immediately pulled me into her embrace, my head falling into her chest. My arms shakily moving around her middle.
“Mila?” Dinah ran her hands along my back in an attempt to calm me down.
I took a deep breath and cleared my throat.
“Austin. He tried to get into my pants, I said no, but he kept touching me. When I finally pushed him away he hit me.”
“Okay, I’m going to go and poly beat that little dorito into itty bitty crumbs.”
Dinah pulled away and began to make her way towards her door, but I grabbed her wrist, pulling her back so she was facing me.
“Dinah, can you just please stay with me? I need you.” I didn’t want to have to deal with him anymore then I had to.
“Fine. But I swear his little ess has a big storm coming if he lays one little finger on you. Nobody is allowed to push you around unless it is me.”
Dinah’s words made a small smile begin to form its way onto my lips. I reached down and interlocked our fingers together, sighing as I reached my free hand up to my face, flinching instantly as I felt pain shoot through my touch.
“Here, come on. Let me be the nurse for once and fix you up for a change.”
Dinah led me into the upstairs bathroom, making me sit on the counter as she pulled out a first aid kit, getting out some antibacterial medicine.
“It looks like his nails cut your face in some pretty deep scratches, and your skin is really purple.”
After she finished rubbing the medicine on the open wounds she instructed me to go into her room and set up Netflix, which I did. When Dinah entered the room she was holding a bag of ice with a thin paper towel wrapped around the bag.
“Here, you need to put this on your face to bring the swelling down, fifteen minutes on, and fifteen minutes off.”
I knew I probably looked like a mess but I didn’t care. Dinah was my best friend since I could remember, she has seen all the good and all the bad sides of me and I am extremely lucky to have someone as amazing as her in my life.
I was pulled out of my thoughts when I heard my phone ding. With my free hand, I grabbed my phone which was in my backpack, my other hand holding the bag of ice to my face.
I unlocked my phone and looked at the screen, noticing I had a new text from Ally.
Ally: Hey Mila, I’m just texting you to keep you informed on Lauren like you asked. I have been with her all evening. She did get sick again, but it wasn’t very much, and when I sat down at dinner with her we got to chatting. I made sure she ate enough and we walked back into her room. We actually really clicked, she opened up to me about her school life and just some things she enjoyed doing. I’m not sure if you care about that or not and I realize that I am rambling but I am just sitting on Normani’s bed watching Lauren, she is beginning to doze off to sleep and says she is feeling better. Have a great night, if you need anything you know where to find me.
I couldn’t help but smile down at my phone, happy I had Ally to keep me updated on Lauren’s status and how she was doing. I thought for a moment before I tilted my head to the side, typing back to Ally.
Camila: Thank you so much Ally, I’m so appreciative of you.
Ally: She is my patient too, I need to look after everyone in this wing. You don’t have to thank me at all.
Camila: I know, but I’ve just appreciative of you. I’m glad to have you in my life.
Ally: Have a safe night, Mila. I love you.
Camila: I love you too.
I threw my phone on the nightstand next to Dinah’s bed, closing my eyes.
“Mila, what do you want to watch? Dinah questioned as she laid next to me, browsing the titles on Netflix, pondering what to watch.
"Hm, I don’t know. Surprise me.” I quietly mumbled.
I didn’t realize it but I was dozing off, eventually completely falling asleep with my head on Dinah’s chest.
