Quarantine Tag Game
Tagged by @chierushi thanks!
1. Are you staying home from work/school? From work, though I had been planning to try to go back to school, though those plans are now pushed back lol.
2. Who is at home with you? I'm 'stuck' with my parents and recently my college roommate (he needed a place to self isolate for 2 weeks)
3. Are you a homebody? Usually yep, but not usually this much.
4. Any event you were looking forward to that got canceled? My sister is having a baby (end of May) but we can't visit the baby for at least 2 months out of an abundance of caution 😭 Also our Hawaii family reunion is probably not happening now...
5. What movies have you been watching recently? Been going through my parents' DVD stash for like 2 weeks now. Recently I've watched: Casablanca, Legally Blonde, Open Season, You've Got Mail, Les Miserables, Dunkirk, and The Princess Bride (which technically has no princesses in it, but still an A+ film)
6. What are you doing for self care? Cooking most nights to change up my normal routine. Recently got an electric ukulele which is very different to play, but still great fun. Petting the dogs. Eating the foods.
7. What shows are you watching? No cable here, but online I'm slowly making my way through One Piece, Dollface, The Expanse, and Stumptown. I want to re-watch The Last Airbender soon.
8. What music have you been listening to? Just got Spotify a month ago, so my list is sparse. I downloaded the Across the Universe movie soundtrack today which had a lot of good things. Some others are The Greatest Show, Haim, AJR, my Tumblr playlist from a few weeks ago, and the Walter Mitty soundtrack.
9. What books are you reading? The only 'book' is on prayer called The Power of Persistence, which I'm liking so far. Also the Bible, and I usually listen to a book of the Bible on audiobook every day (on repeat so I hear it multiple times and it sinks in better).
Thanks for reading, and some random people to tag are @flightsoffancyonpaperwings @gossfather31 @nobeerreviews @surrenderedforhisbeautifulending @quiet-spirittt @cupof-ana @thunderstruck-owl-gal @flawlessangxl @ocean-sunrise @seedsandforests @the-average-procrastinator @theshanda and anyone else who is bored and wants to do something

Since I had a lot of free time recently and some of my friends asked me to join in the fun, I decided to draw my version of the little Amabie character running around out there 😊 She's not exactly sure what's going on, but she's here for you if you need a friend. I'd forgotten how much fun it is to create by drawing! If anyone wants to draw one to feel happier and pass the time, the very basics are: bird bill, long hair, scales (Google it for some awesome examples).

My friend in NYC works for a men's fashion brand, and look what he made me for Christmas! Quite literally, he gave them the idea to make these socks in order to give them to me as a gift. These now join my "Pugs not drugs" socks as part of my favorite-clothing-I-own category.

There are multiple fun ways to enjoy Valentine's day, even if one is not dating. When else can I post this song cover by one of my favorite artists? 😊🎸 (Kina Grannis - Valentine)

#6 of the soft questions :)
This is always a tough one to come up with answers for... Let's see.
Physical
1: I have pretty good balance, like Egg from Arrested Development
2: I am able to play ukulele adequately, which is fun
3: I can jump to touch a basketball goal (but not dunk 😢)
Non-physical
1: Animals usually are ok with me being around, which is awesome
2: I can fix lots of things, usually pretty easily
3: I enjoy helping people with their deeds and learning random things from them in the process
Thanks for the question @surrenderedforhisbeautifulending 😀

December 20, 2019
I spent the night watching converted dvds of blurry film from my childhood, stuff from 25 years ago. My parents split up when I was in early elementary school, and since then I've seen my biological mom maybe 250 times total. In the videos, I knew how to speak Korean and could physically see how much she loved me - both things I don't have memories of now. The heartbreaking thing is that I'm sure she still loves me that much even today. I'd never felt like I had lost something vital and important from my childhood life until tonight. It feels like these were stolen from me, by life's circumstances and then my naive choices. And I didn't even realize they had been taken until tonight as I watched my reawakened ghosts.

Hi! Number 10 & 21 of the 'soft asks to get to know people' 😀
10. I'm excited because my sister is due to give birth in like 2 months! I'm an uncle 😁🤪😅🤩😎 I have to come up with a cool name for the baby to call me, since I'll obs be the favorite family member haha!
21. I think one big thing I'd tell my past self would be that I don't have to make my own mistakes to learn things, I should get better at learning from others' mistakes. If someone wiser than me tells something they've learned, I should take that to heart instead of needing to find that out for myself.
I'm thankful for the asks @itsrainingsunshine013!

1, 23, 33?
1: I usually pick tropical fruit smells, but my absolute favorite is Cinnamon Apple Pie! 🍎🥧 And most years I buy those cinnamon pinecone that grocery stores tempt you with at the checkout line #weakness
23: I'm currently 'learning' Korean (I'm very bad at staying on track lol) so I can communicate with my mom in her native language. I reblogged something yesterday about how most conversations only use like the same 6000 words, so that actually gives me a renewed determination to hit the books. 6k doesn't sound too bad for A WHOLE LANGUAGE! Second would be Spanish because it's quite prevalent in these parts.
33: Not exactly a nickname, but revolves around that idea. My mom is Korean, and when my dad was stationed in S Korea with her, he absolutely fell in love with a dish there called 잡채 (Jap-Chae). So if it had been up to him, I would have been named the English equivalent of 'Potato Glass Noodle' 🍜
Stop by any time, anon frand!

The Postal Service - The District Sleeps Alone Tonight
Switchfoot - Stars
The Wild Reeds - Blind and Brave
Young the Giant - Crystallized
Oren Lavie - Her Morning Elegance
Kina Grannis - Dear River
Flogging Molly - If I Ever Leave This World Alive
Hope one of these makes you happy 😊

what's your myers briggs personality??
I haven't checked in a while but I've straddled the line between INTP and INFP for years. I think it depends on the environment I've been living in - when I was in school, I'd get T more often on personality tests, but nowadays it's more likely F. I'm very high on the scale for N and P, moderately I.

Thanks for the asks ☺️
1. The song that currently makes me feel better is Sober Up by AJR. It's upbeat and I like the vibe behind it.
4. I think the flower I'd want would be a honeysuckle. They smell so good in the summer 🌷😍
12. I'm doing OK, but a bit tired in general - so pretty much how I usually feel. I kinda want to get a hug for like 10 minutes to get unfrazzled by life lol.
25. The best personal gift right now... Honestly, I'd love anything and everything. Maybe something around music, like a playlist or writing a song. I've always wanted to make/do music with someone, that'd be fun.

List five things that make you happy, then put this in the askbox of the last 10 people who reblogged something from you. Get to know your mutuals and followers 💖💖💖
1) Finding a pet-friend at a busy party who decides I'm worthy to hang out with
2) Someone bringing me food when I've been too preoccupied to even realize I'm hungry
3) Sprinting in the rain, laughing and jumping over puddles to get into a safe, dry place
4) Seeing how little kids learn to interact with the world, usually in an unexpected/ridiculous/hilarious fashion
5) Finding ways to use the abilities God charged me with to make the lives of other people a little easier, a little better

Today and Tomorrow
Today's my last day in NYC. Moving back to Alabama because I missed my family, plus NYC is sooo crowded 😭 It's been an exhilarating three years, but I'm ready for my next stop. I've learned that I can interact with people well enough to get by without passing out from shyness lol. And that I can make it on my own if I want to. The City is unlike anything else I've been a part of, probably anything else in the world, and I'm thankful for the opportunity and support I've had while taking a bite out of it.
I fail God time and again, but I do believe I've learned so many important things about him over this segment of my life. As long as it is called today, I desire to never stop relinquishing my own life to allow him to align me with him. Thank you for all of it, Father. I believe - help my unbelief. Please keep changing me to be more of you. And please take care of fellow believers: James, Trina, and Tawnya. But above anything else, let your will be done.
I'm 30 years old now, once an age I considered 'grown', but in the moment I feel like I'm just barely starting to become. My life has not turned out how I expected in the slightest (often due to my own choices lol), but I love living it nonetheless. I've got a 22 hour train ride back home, which is an experience of its own 😊 Bonus: I get to see my family dog! Whatever my next step is, I pray that my life is yours and your life is mine, God.

For the 50 questions you’ve never been asked: 17, 33, 44
17: I think the British accent is fun, but I prefer my unable-to-be-placed American accent (I've lived in all 4 corners of the US so my accent is all over the place 😅). Now if we go into the more particular English accents (Scottish, Irish) I might change my mind
33: While on vacation, a very hospitable Italian family once kept calling me Geronimo, so that's become a fond family nickname. Little kids and siblings also call me Germy (whether it's just easier to say or due to my hygiene choices is still unknown)
44: I made a fire outside on this chill, clear night, so I brought my uke out to sing to my sister's puppy. Her in-laws heard me from inside and threatened to put a mic and speakers up next time because they liked it so much 😍
Thanks for the questions, brenanannana!

Tagged by @7san-thalia-chez last year O_O sorry so late
Rules: Tag 15 mutuals, answer 15 questions
1. Are you named after anyone? My dad wanted a Bible based name, and my mom wanted a name that starts with ‘J’. So here I am, Jeremy the weeping prophet.
2. When was the last time you cried? Teared up, maybe a few months ago. But really full on crying - it’s been at least 4 years?
3. Do you want kids? For sure. Just gotta find someone who wants them with me.
4. Do you use sarcasm a lot? Definitely not, no never...
5. What’s the first thing you notice about people? Non-physically, you can usually tell if people are generally nice in a few seconds, so I usually feel that out. Physically, I’d say hands, because looking people in the eyes immediately is terrifying.
6. What’s your eye color? Brown, but can fluctuate between chocolate and golden.
7. Scary movie or happy ending? Almost anything other than a scary movie - not for me. I appreciate when a film has a satisfying denouement for the ‘good guys’ but is not overly cheesy.
8. Any special talents? I can whistle better than you... is that something to brag about?
9. Where were you born? Seoul, South Korea on a military base hospital
10. What are your hobbies? Ukulele, discussing the Bible, frisbee, hoarding, befriending all the animals, exploring.
11. Do you have any pets? Charlie, the happiest labrador retriever to ever live. And now her daughter, Penelope ‘Pepper’ the puppy. But neither of them is in NYC with me :’(
12. What sports do you play/have you played? Volleyball, Kin-ball (look it up, it’s the best), Ultimate, flag football. But now am badly out of shape :\ If e-sports count, Overwatch haha...
13. How tall are you? 5′11″ - tall enough for someone who’s mom is under 5′.
14. Favorite subject in school? Math, science, band. Wow that sounds nerdier than I remember being.
15. Dream career? Inventor or fixer or healer. So I can help people.
I’ll tag some of my recent rebloggers to get to know y’all: @nemlouise @citylightsandsettingsuns @grief-and-joy @ocean-sunrise @chaosismymuse @believe-in-beautiful-inspiration @thesaltwatersmile @quiet-spirittt @chaseeternity @lifeinthecatlane @bourbonbohemian @illycruz @the-average-procrastinator @kokorodaki @nightsnaps
