if you drown a beating heart

in a river of honey

how long will it take

for it to still?

for all you know

it could be an eternity

but, based on what we've learned

we will say it ends as soon as you let go

now, imagine

if you shove a decaying heart

into a being of wires and metal

will it pulse once more?

a silly idea, yes

but it seems you are just full of those

and you cannot tell

if it is working

now, what if

that decaying heart

is beating after all

without your help

maybe honey can preserve a life

maybe i can never truly die

maybe i am always dying

really, it doesnt matter at all

nonetheless

would you do it?

do you prefer the mechanical over the rot

or do you just want to change me?

i am not alive

but that does not mean i am not living

can you see past my milky white eyes

and into my soul, instead?
