Where I am Today
Friday January 18, 2013
I have been back from India for a little over a month now. The culture shocks have slowly worn off but I still have moments that completely overwhelm me. I never want to forget what I learned there.
Before I left for India, I had my next trip, El Salvador, fully paid off. After I returned I learned that we were having issues with the last fundraiser and about a week before Christmas we all received the devastating news that as a group we had requested a refund from the company. Without this fundraiser, we, as participants on the trip, lose the money we would’ve gotten from the fundraiser. As a result we have been trying to find other fundraising methods to help raise the money we had originally raised. As of today we still have no answer but we are praying that something will happen soon. We are travelling to El Salvador from March 7th until March 13th. This trip is always amazing and God moves in incredible ways. Please be in prayer for everyone attending this trip as we are moving into the finalization stages.
Also, I have another trip I will be attending in July. This trip is called One Nation One Day and we will be going to Honduras. This trip is based off the scripture in Isaiah 66:8
“Who has ever heard of such things? Who has ever seen things like this? Can a country be born in a day or a nation be brought forth in a moment? Yet no sooner is Zion in labor than she gives birth to her children.”
We believe this country is Honduras and that this day is July 19, 2013. The president has declared this day a National holiday and is working with 1N1D to make this all a success. On this day we will simultaneously be holding one crusade in each of the 18 states in the 18 biggest stadiums available. The goal is to reach the entire nation of Honduras on this one day. You can learn more about this trip by watching the video here. If you feel led to donate to my trip you can do so by visiting go.missions.me and selecting my name (Kayla Marsh) out of the list of participants (you’ll have to scroll a few pages, its listed by first name). I need to raise a total of $1995 plus my air-faire to get to Miami.
So this is where I am at today. Believing and trusting that God will provide every dollar I need to be able to go on these trips.
This is what He has called me to do.
And I cannot say no.

Break My Heart
Heal my heart and make it clean Open up my eyes to the things unseen Show me how to love like You have loved me Break my heart for what breaks Yours Everything I am for Your Kingdom’s cause As I walk from earth into eternity
Hosanna by: Hillsong
This was and still is my prayer in my daily life. Before I went to India I wanted to see things like He saw them and to love those children like He loves me. I was as prepared as I could be when I left for what I thought I was going to see. I saw things completely differently. In the midst of utter and complete destruction I could see beauty that only God could create. My heart broke for those children and people, not only the ones that now have a new place to call home but for everyone else for those living in complete poverty to those well off. But what you don’t expect is for your heart to continue to break once you get home. It’s a daily reminder to me to pray for all those children, all those people with or without homes, with or without God. To pray that God will intercede in that country. That those children would rise up and take their places as the young men and women that God has called them to be and that by our simple act of opening these homes, we are changing an entire nation.

Re-Entry
Coming home is easy. Sometimes its not.
You can shock your system into the time zone you are living in but that's it. You cannot: shock your body into your old schedule shock your mind back to what used to be, or rather, what is You must adjust....but that takes time. And sometimes it can take longer than expected.
Adjusting back to life at home has been different because you can't go completely back to what used to be. Something in you changes and it affects you every day in ways you never realize. You don't realize how privileged you are until its gone. You don't realize the value of freedom until you don't have that same freedom. You don't realize how safe you are until your safety is in question. You don't realize how much you have until you see how much others don't. When you come home from a trip that has changed your life you will notice all the little things. Things you never noticed before. You will be thankful for things you never thought to be thankful for before. And as much as you want to adjust to "normalcy", you can't. You cannot go back to the old. You cannot forget what you saw. You cannot forget what you learned. And that's okay.
Because now you are looking through new eyes. You are seeing things how He sees them.
You never forget the smiles, the laughter, the tears, the faces, the joy, the love, the stares, or the hugs. You never forget any of it.
