my town was hit really badly by Hurricane Helene. it's all gone and washed away. I'm so thankful my place wasn't touched but literally everything else in town is torn to shreds. it's been a really emotional time... most students were evicted and forced to leave. i ended up going back to my hometown and I found out today that classes are cancelled indefinitely. it's really awful. the water is completely contaminated, power won't come back for at least a week, and so many students are homeless. I'm so sad. driving through town and seeing roads completely collapsed and driving under fallen trees was so heartbreaking. the future is so uncertain right now and I know it'll be ok but I feel unstable right now.
