one of the many stories i have about mcr in my life was this:

I was 14. My family and I were driving our new RV to New York, where my brother lived... it had been years since I'd been on a roadtrip. I'd just discovered MCR around that time but they weren't a big part of my world yet. Anyways, I was lying on the couch in the RV, and the sun was setting. We'd been driving for 8 hours and I was getting very tired, so I turned on my big playlist to drown out the humming of the bus and my parents' chatter.

Somehow, after only a few minutes, I opened my eyes and it was pitch black. I'd fallen asleep. Desert Song was playing, but I'd never heard it before. There was something otherwordly about blinking and suddenly waking up at three in the morning.

I looked out the slits in the window at the moon, which seemed so close, I could grab it. The bridge of the song started playing. The desolate silence of the highway, the stillness of the car, and the song brought me to tears. Everything was so clear.

I'd been dealing with depression for a while at that point and it was one of the few moments in my life when things felt tranquil for me. I can still picture so clearly how crystal-white the moon looked, and how the stars consumed the darkness, and the crickets chirping. I can feel the hardness of the couch and the thin blanket over me. That feeling of surreal dream-like peace clings to me every time I listen to Desert Song now. I hope it never leaves.

Are you easy to get along with? I think so, or I at least try to be. I don't have anyone I don't get along with besides old enemies, and I have a lot of friends.

Does talking about sex make you uncomfortable? Not at all-- I'm in school to become a sex therapist. However I'm on the ace spectrum but that has a lot to do with religious upbringing and I'm hoping that will chance.

What do you do when you wake up? Erm... scroll on my phone ... I'm trying to stop but it's hard bc my friends love to text me overnight so I catch up with them like a newspaper in the morning lol

Do you still talk to your first crush? Not really, we were talking up until last month but now I think our friendship has faded :(

Do you think you’ll be in a relationship two months from now? There's a chance! I'm not looking to be in a relationship but there is someone I'm hanging out with... we'll see how that goes!!

got in touch with my best childhood friend and we spent four hours talking about our lives and talking about our hardships. it turns out we lived the exact same life in different states without knowing it. we kept a lot of secrets from each other over the years but we shared the same dark secrets. it was so healing and I'm so honored that he's back in my life.

this semester has me losing my mindddd we're only four weeks in and i'm suffering to no end. i'm taking 15 credits but they're the most boring, insufferable classes and it's so much information, my brain feels numb by the end of the day.
