IME there's limited catharsis in journaling and venting your thoughts onto the page. I don't know if this is undiagnosed ADHD and each little thought-feeling tugs at 3 others at any given time (my stream of consciousness isn't that constant, I can't tell IRL) but that's beside the point. This desire to journal and vent your thought is why social media like Tumblr and Twitter work well-ish. The similarly comedic idea of "lol i'm journaling but it's your and everyone's problem!! lmao" isn't an self-own. It's an admittance that you're using a platform with it's intended purpose.

Personally I find journaling about the events of your day and adding opportunistic asides and reflections also has limited catharsis, but the act of more objectively poring over your day and hanging it on a loosely narrative form lets you regenerate the momentum of what would otherwise be a destructive online or offline outburst. What I think I mean to say is that starting out with a basic log of events is probably healthier than aggressively braindumping.

Okay so I love all his albums and every single time he releases a new one it somehow ends up being my favorite for a period of time however - I think Beerbongs and Bentleys is my favorite, CLOSELY followed by Twelve Carat Toothache because some of my favorite songs of his of all time are on it.

However, Beerbongs and Bentleys came out when I was having a really rough patch in my life and there were a LOT of songs on that album that got me mf through it so it's very near and dear to my heart.
